yeah ik about stabilizing
Which technically brings them from - to 1
So it would count.
As healing damage :)
I know implant armor repairs itself while you regain hp by resting too, which is neat
how many combats are there typically in a job?
Depends on the job I'd imagine
Also depends on the party
Like, a party of six solos is gonna see a lot more combat than oops all netrunners
So far we've got mostly people who can fight decently so I'd expect at least some
One-two Is pretty standard. If we are talking evenly matched
If the NPC's are stronger/there is more of them, it's gonna be less
Mini bosses, like cyberpsychos or security chiefs count as a separate combat usually.
Even if they follow a different one directly.
But basically!
A mission/job can be freakishly long.
Like you might have to pay rent mid job kind of long.
ohhhh jesus
Usually if that's the case you get paid smaller sums for "doing work on it"
Before the final big payout
If it's something easier it might be quick.
so
Essentially the way you construct missions is with beat modules, and each combat counts as a beat so.
There is that
But some GM's probably don't use the beat system.
Oki i gotta eep, gnite yall
Gn!
goot nite :3
never
I dont think cops believe in the system in Cyberpunk...
They are mostly just kinda... Corpo mercs with a funny name.
NCPD is just straight up a corporation.
moreso that she believes she can, somehow, be the force for good
nuh
NCPD actually tends to hire solos constantly purely because "Nobody cares if they die lmao"
yuuup
something something public safety
(she gets thrown under the bus to cover for some racket or another)
maybe even literally!
putting murphi in the contraption
Basically if you want the general outlook of what NCPD works like consider the funny setpiece of:
The party has a shootout in a side alley; Every time someone misses their target while aiming in the direction of the main road, or fires an automatic weapon towards said road, roll an attack against the cars parked on the street. If any of the corpo cars are damaged, NCPD is called and will arrive in 5 turns.
pffff
i get that, but what im sayin is that murps is an idiot who thinks that morality is real
SovOil also has special grenades that don't damage property.
The way they work is never really explained, lmao
my silly bomb
There is also the OUT!let explosive.
isnt that the one that blows up if you plug into a wall socket with it installed
Which is an explosive that you install in a private building, replacing a standard outlet.
yeah
And technically it's timer based.
What have I done...
She needs to critfail to get addicted to most street drugs now.
Shifted some points about because she's not gonna be an empathy queen anyways so...
I guess she just crashes harder
Guess what I bought with the 500 I saved on Kereznikov
Drugs?
ooh nice
The injector is loaded with black lace.
It's so she doesn't crash the car and kill the passengers if she gets shot.
~~GunMart ~~
I am only dimly aware of it.
ngl if it does exist I imagine it's one of those neutral points for Nomads to meet up at and refuel at before they hit the road
or it's become some sort of trade center for nomads
on another note idk if this is how Language works as a skill but I have Russian as the +2 (secondary) language he has
I do imagine part of why a language stat exists is because translation cybernetics are either not as advanced or entirely nonexistent
it might be something that came along in the early 2050s or 2060s idk
No streetslang?
There is no real translation cybernetics.
There are cybernetics that teach you languages tho.
I imagine he's got like
At best a rudimentary understanding of streetslang and that's about it
Like he hears people say things but doesn't really have a handle on what half of it means
Daniel's streetslang is like a WASP hearing AAVE, if that makes sense
He understands it but doesn't get it, yknow?
He might hear "Choom" or "Preem" and might barely figure out what it means via context clues but he's never been around the masses long enough to really pick up on this sort of thing since he's been sheltered for most of his life
He could hold a conversation with someone who does speak it, but he doesn't use it himself beyond calling someone choom or some shit
He does have 8 int so he's not totally helpless
But he will struggle with figuring out streetslang
Daniel's streetslang is like a two
I chose that as his second language over an actual one
Also reminding myself later that RK probably would get shielding for his legs
Teehee :3
Also swapped some points in Basic Tech for more points in pilot air and air vehicle tech
So he can actually land the damn thing on anything but a crit fail :3
Oh yeah I have a blorbo now after asking if bow and handgun are complimentary skills
Nomad who hunts for her family
as in like goes on hunting trips
sets snares, etc
bow is the main hunting weapon, handgun for finishing off caught animals
roadbike
Ngl RK has a bow because it's kinda uh
Affordable
And arrows are a lot easier to make than bullets
cheap longer ranged weapon my beloved
Even if he is kinda bad at making them
also its inherently stylin
'yes I punched through your aramid plate with an arrow'
'yes, fuck you'
Later on if I give him points in tech instead of Media I'll look into giving him other arrow types too
More battlefield support without making him totally useless without a net architecture
Imagining RK as a media is very funny tbh
Half the time it's just bodycam footage of him panicking
The other half of the time it's actually him grabbing up data
I was imagining him as a news anchor stuttering into a microphone
Ngl I think he'd fit more as a tech multiclass
He's already got decent Cybertech skills too
Ayy tech multiclass gang lol
I probably won't multiclass dani, just go all in on Medtech
Honestly I think if I were to translate OG Ember into cpr more directly, she'd be a netrunner/tech, just one with good combat ability too
Or if I do multiclass I think I'd multiclass with Fixer, purely because the gangs in the Combat Zone south of him just all like him lmao
Could also go with lawman for the backup instead
He's probably the cheapest ripperdoc they can get to, who'll see to them no questions asked, for a better price than most hospitals - nobody fucks with him because they just like him
A few gangers or other random folks see him in trouble and run in to help
I mean i also feel like him being a Fixer would fit the support theme better, too
I could see him, as he gets older, learning the streets a bit more and starting to actually pull a few strings
Tbh though until he hits a suitable level RK would probably have to either cash in a few favors with a local tech to get some mods (low chance with no streetwise) or he'll have to learn it himself
Hmm
I wonder how hard Ember's gonna crash when she does eventually try to get out of the Corp and they start fucking with her cybernetics
I could see Daniel trying to manipulate the gangs to make the Combat Zone a little less combat-y, and maybe make some money (and lives better) in the process
Ough, wonder if backdooring cyberware is possible
Get rid of all that corpo code
Might straight up be why she ends up picking up tech
RK (despite having no medical license or real training regarding cybernetics) could be of help in disabling any killware or whatever that's in her cybernetics
Is 6 INT, 8 REF, 8 DEX, 8 TECH, 4 COOL, 6 WILL, 4 LUCK, 8 MOVE, 6 BODY, 4 EMP a good Nomad stat spread?
I mean if push comes to shove Daniel would probably help take them out, or at least see what he can do to keep them from killing her
No idea!
Meanwhile she's just baffled that they'd go out of their way to help her like that
Tbh knowing RK though he'd probably go out looking for non-corpo cybernetics
Maybe he could try refurbishing them with a proper check
Ultra rare decent human being in Night City
Tbh RK probably sees it as paying back a massive favor
Daniel just sees it as the right thing to do tbh
To him something like a corpo kill code for cyberware is equivalent to slavery, you're binding someone to your service
No like.
In the system? Streetslang is a language.
It's the Lingua franca
The English riddled with incomprehensible slang you see in the rulebook? That's already a translation.
Streetslang is Techncially a constructed language. Something like Esperanto.
yeah like, Ember doesn't speak English in this
Honestly I might change that to native language with streetslang on the side then
I love streetslang for this.
It's basically the fabled galcomm but the setting acknowledges how fucked up that is.
So basically streetslang's the equivalent of a bunch of spoken gang signs
Essentially.
Corpos Techncially normally do not know streetslang.
Only the ones that interact with the public do.
There is a reason why the character creator gives you streetslang automatically :p
Girl's Miss Venus got me speakin esperanto
yeah, Ember has streetslang, but only the basic 2 points, mostly remembered from before she joined with the corp
This shit aint nothin to me man
spraying you with Night City river water
Daniel only speaks English and a bit of Streetslang
Parry
Vic is horrible/confusing because she speaks English but her Streetslang has audibly/distinctly polish accent.
Ember speaks French (or Spanish, torn between the two) and a bit of streetslang
She doesn't actually know a lick of polish.
But has a polish accent.
But not in English.
RK has a mild Russian accent when he speaks English but he mostly picked it up from his father by accident
Though tbh idk if all CPR characters speak English by default or what
Nah. Actually the "default" is streetslang.
Most people know Streetslang and will communicate using it in some level of coherency.
But it is nobody's native language
Ahhh ok
yeah my Nomad speaks Spanish and Streetslang and that's it
behold: the Kbity
Also I do find it funny that RK speaks Russian because people might mistake him for a weirdly sophisticated Scav/Reaper
Is there any differences between the Scavs and Reapers? Or did reapers just become the scavs by 2077
Katia uses the term for Scavs so I just pointed it out just in case
it's Scavs in english but i think in other translations it's Reapers
Either way a Russian speaking guy that digs through the trash looking for clothes might raise some eyebrows
Even moreso when he's getting a jacket and mirrorshades off of a corpse
That said RK has never actually like
Gone off and stripped a body for cyberware
It's both a matter of morals and him thinking "I don't know who I'd even sell this to and what is even in here"
Since I doubt any legitimate buyer would want corpseware
I do think there's probably a market for that stuff but RK doesn't have the kind of street cred to find a dealer and digging through a body for cyberware icks him out anyways
Yeah that's kinda a whole other level of fucked
Like aside from the fact it's probably unsanitary
There's a not insignificant chance that scavenged cyberware is inoperable anyways
They are Reapers in the polish Dub. And it's like... More apt in the way they are seen I think?
Also Cyberware has to kinda be... Tuned to a guy.
So unless you're a good techie...
Yeahh
There is a reason Scavs don't actually rock the corpse ware a lot of the time.
And they don't actually they mostly use post Soviet cyberware.
its primarily for resale rather than use
same way that you use corpse ware for money in RED
I actually...
Heavily gimp that.
When I run Red
Your money is gonna be mainly from gigs, maybe occasional heists
also tbh I imagine selling corpsware isn't like
easy
you have to rewire all of the artificial nerves and shit so you don't like
suddenly use it the wrong way if it's installed
and also there's other issues regarding how intact it is
like if you were to sell corpseware at full price you'd need to do a real bang-up job to make it not look like you just tore it from a body
You need access to an autoclave and someone who won't ask questions.
that too
And it stinks like all hells
I highly doubt the bad rep is worth it for most fixers as well
"Hey Dimitri, why did your entire hab block chip in for an autoclave?"
it's bad business being known for black market corpseware
"Do not ask question you no want answer to."
To quote Anti-Natan the ripperdoc:
What the fuck are you trying to sell to me a? Do I look like a Reaper boy to ya? Are you suggesting something, a?
((Anti Natan got his nickname because he's vocally antinatalist for the most cyberpsycho of reasons.))
No player actually ever bothered to ask his name.
But on the upside he bundles in an anticonception implant with each purchase.
honestly it feels like corpseware would be easier to break down into components that can be used without risking sudden brain damage
I mean there verh much is, that's the scavs' entire business model
Any corpseware they dont take themselves, they sell
It gets "washed."
You can sell it but you will probably either need to be a ripperdoc/techie yourself, or have one that is fine with you being a Reaper.
And it's not gonna be market price don't even think about that.
henlo henlo
Hai!
Daniel like. Wouldn't care if you got corpseware from a ganger you iced in self-defense
Like, he's already dead. He doesn't need it.
But killing someone specifically for their cyberware? Icky. Bad. To the woods with you.
I feel like it's a quarter of the price at the very best
like yeah sure it's intact but it isn't exactly new
also tbh corpseware in general being sold at full price feels like it encourages murderhoboing but idk
Main reason I altered that.
It was a slow but significant march of changes.
First was the risk that corpse-ware is just straight up irrecoverable on arrival due to battle damage. Which got rolled back because they started coming up with elaborate ways to commit murder without causing bodily harm.
Nah. Sedative Airhypo
fuckin hell
What a team of 4 Reaper Medtechs will get up to if allowed to is insane.
Nah, they suffocated them after they fell asleep/unconscious.
oh I guess I was kinda half on the mark
Imagine just chilling on guard as a ganger and suddenly 4 people jump you with medical syringes.
but yeah nah it'd be funny if RK was mistaken for a Reaper on multiple occasions
despite having nothing to do with actual y'know
cyberware/organ harvesting
hmm trying to figure out how obviously corpo Ember is
cuz like, she did grow up on the streets, only started corpo life a couple years ago
A
Nowy Ruski
Honestly the main way I'd discourage it if I were a GM is just make either cops or Afterlife mercs hunt them down if they murderhobo (depending on where they did it)
could also give diminishing returns
no matter the condition suddenly the market is just being flooded with corpseware
Yeah
lowering the value to the point where it isn't worth the trouble
tbh the gigs in CPR do also sometimes feel as if they pay too little
but then again it's kinda up to the GM on whether you're making extra on the gig or not
Yeah, nothing says you have to use the prices outlined in the book
A GM should pay out what they think is fair
it does also kinda keep players from just
barging in and being crazy
for instance a fixer might dock pay if they fuck up what was supposed to be a stealth mission
True!
imagine being hit with this in the middle of a gig
well we can leave the sneaking missions to Ember lol
something i keep running into with martial arts stuff is that a lot of the neat techniques require 8 will to use
Daniel'd probably be backup in case it goes loud anyways
A ripperdoc isnt all that useful at sneaking around, and all that gear prolly makes noise when he moves
All the scalpels and hemostats n shit clicking around, or his toolhand making clacky noises when he touches something
You think the toolhand is like a skeletal glove thing that folds back into the arm when it's not in use?
poor quality weapons just jam on a 1 right?
i imagine it's more like, ur fingies open up and the tools are inside them
Oh maybe
Yeah
okay cool
ember's getting a cheap gun lol
Tbh I do question if RK himself would get a toolhand later
Or he could get a monowire
and hey with her new build, Ember's sitting at a relatively comfortable 47 humanity :3
I mean, thats still a 1/10 chance for it to jam
A crit fail in cyberpunk is a lot more common than a crit fail in D&D
true but like, she's always got melee if the gun jams
Reminder it also wastes an action to unjam a gun
You can just get a spool of it btw, no need for implants.
And actions are kinda expensive in CPR too, considering you only get one per turn.
Yeah though I'm not sure if I'd want to get one in the first place
Also part of me is just thinking that because Enkidu claws
The difference between narrative monowire and videogame monowire still makes me giggle consistently.
True but still, it's a backup anyways, she's mostly gonna wanna be in melee, the gun is just in case she can't be
V is just swinging that shit around like a glorified whip.
Isn't only the bladed end of the monowire actually monomolecular?
I think it's the whole thing?
In Edgerunners Lucy entirely dismembers a Tyger Claw by cutting his arm and sword apart using hers but it gets clogged with all the fleshy bits that got caught in it afterwards
So it is capable of dismembering people no matter what part of it's being used
Spooki
Isn't the end actually weighted pr something?
I don't know Monowire always eluded me when it came to how it would be used.
To me it always felt like "Oh no! Slight breeze!"
Gets my own weapon blown into my face and I die
I think the entire Monowire is specifically like a smart weapon or something?
Like something tells me there's some sci fi bullshit with it that explicitly keeps that from happening
Also iirc the digits you do use to manipulate the weapon are like
Protected with some sort of mesh
Also nvm
It is apparently a matter of skill as far as manipulating one of these things goes
And V is still absolute ass at it compared to some characters.
Tho that's moreso a gameplay limitation.
Yeah was gonna say
It'd be kinda hard to have V pull a trickshot with it every single time
That and swinging it around wildly still kinda gets the point across? People scream when you whip them with it and their limbs come off if you do it enough
Also I would like my entire palm to be monowire resistant If I was gonna use it NGL.
Quite Profound.
I feel like it's another one of those rule of cool things
Same reason why the mantis blades don't immediately snap your arm in half
Because honest to God those things don't look very strong when 90% of the arm's support is sticking out and being used to stab people while the other 10% is a hollow synthskin covered shell
yeah the mantis blade looks cool but its physically impractical
like look at this thing
plus like, in reality with mantis blades, there isn't much "weapon" to work with since they're bound to your forearm and not your hand
and the most important part of any hand-to-hand engagement is range; a mono-katana would likely be at a bit of an advantage
Yeah it'd take one wrong stab to lose the blade and your arm
Their main mechanical benefit in the tabletops was that you could climb with them at running speed.
Which would be funny tbh
Someone gets some shit quality mantis blades and they snap in half after opening
snapped blade flies forward and domes some poor booster
I still think they shouldn't be cutting shit
Iirc there's also a straight up knee variant of the mantis blade that's seen in Edgerunners but that's more of a surprise tool than something you'd take out in a fight
yeah, they seem more like
Like... They're clearly profiled for stabbing, why is everyone and their mother cutting stuff with it.
climbing implements that can be used as a weapon in an emergency
Yeah they're using mono blades but still
because this is cyberpunk, and cyberpunk is style over everything
theres a reason the standard melee's for cyberarms are "sharp nails", "long sharp nails" and "wolverine's claws"
like that's one of the first things the book tells you
RK has the first one :)
(and "metal knuckles")
There is also the cyber snake which is a terrifying concept.
yeah thats how it is in 2020 as well
Like wow! It works! I would never mess with this person again!
Cybersnake can also be flavored as like... A tail but that already exists lol
I can imagine some alien cosplayer using one to incredible effect
For context.
really i think the mantis blades only exist because they had a cool concept when they were first coming up with stuff for the game and wanted something that looked "cool" in first person
is fucking Personal Grooming
which does fit a Don Quixote type character well tbh
sanitized?
well, it wasn't just the throat originally
No this is the app description.
Tbh I just think they were seen as a better stand in for the scratcher/ripper/wolver line of weapons
it was any orifice
You want the full description it is in the book.
Oh god that is
Ewwww
Fuck that can go in some awful places
The app is kind of censored so it doesnt need to verify your age.
putting a cybersnake in my ear
Me when the Bozo chasing me pulls out his cybersn- blam
Oh well they did buff it
1d6 is more than you'd think in 2020, especially since characters are way less tanky
and its basically an assassination weapon
like its not much compared to like, a shotgun
but the point is the concealability
Huh, can't find it now.
There was a thing about the cybernsake. Maybe It was a different version of the book.
Also ngl these are actually like... Fairly decent cyberlegs for the price
They come with a free option slot, basically
Also you do save 200 on the legs
Since you're effectively just paying for 2 talon feet
Yeag
And also don't get humanity loss from them either
Which is
Somewhat crazy
It's not a lot but 6 humanity is 6 humanity
Also you can poison them
Not sure if that's amazing
Wanna see something on the completely opposite end of the spectrum?
WHAT THE FUCK
22d6+(1d6/2)
yeah the spyder is one of the full body conversions
What kind of player would want this?
You better have a good doctor so you can take the guaranteed 73
Dude looks like he'd make cloaker noises
I think you save moneys
Compared to buying allat one by one.
But I'd have to actually calc it
yeah, the FBCs are slightly cheaper in terms of money and humanity compared to buying everything individually
also you get a few FBC exclusive upgrades
Gonna be hard putting them on!
The soyder
Considering.
You will need Therapy. Probably asap
Honestly if I tampered with RK's kit I could get him the slutty combat stilettos which would be funny as hell but yeah
thats included
I know but I'm saying you're not grabbing more FBC specific upgrades.
Until you stabilise your brain situation.
The cheapest FBC is 9.9k
Oh ye is the biosystem basically an organ jar?
yeah
you replace your Body, HP, Death Save with those of the FBC, a bunch of basic cyberware becomes 0 HL, you double all option slots, you ignore prereqs for Grafted Muscle and Bone Lace, you're immune to a bunch of critical effects, you're immmune to the penalties for wound states, youre immune to all diseases, poisons, pharmaceuticals and street drugs unless directly administered via airhypo to a special port, you're immune to radiation, don't need to breath, don't need food or water
you do need a special Glucose-Rich Brain Solution (100eb) once a month, but its included in the Good Prepak Lifestyle, which you also need for the self-healing to function
FBC-specific subdermal armour is both expensive as hell and amazing
also importantly, you dont have to roll for HL, you can choose to take the average
On one hand that is a lot of advantages on the other hand that's horrifying
tech-upgraded heavy subdermal plating is the strongest armour in the game that doesn't have a stat penalty attached
both for the first time and for any later upgrades
Linear Frames alone can be really powerful
Bring you up to 12 body, meaning unless you get a particularly bad wound roll, you're only failing on 10s for your first two death saves
every FBC includes at least the Sigma
Ik, thats why i said alone
Would a fullborg require paramedic/surgery to stabilize, or Cybertech?
hmm...
I believe it mentions but I don't have the book right now
they do make death saves as normal but the book isnt clear on that
actual repairs to the body are Cybertech
but theres no mention of Stabilize
I imagine that unless the biopod or whatever is damaged you'd stabilize with Cybertech
probably, yeah
Like no need to touch the remaining giblets if only the frame has been rendered inoperable
though given the lack of wound penalties and immunity to a lot of injuries, stabilizing yourself is basically always an option
yes, but thats for proper healing
So it's cyber tech.
Stabilize is a bespoke action
I'd still say Cyber tech, personally.
and also the mentioned repair takes four hours but yeah
stabilize is already TECH + (first aid/paramedic) so its not too big of a difference
NGL the netrunner FBC is almost as harsh on empathy as the spyder
Makes sense tbh
Why do you need allat, boyo
Four Cyberdecks.
What is you doing.
You can't use allat! Literally! You can only dive with one at a time!
I think it's more of a "one for every situation" deal
But yeah it's very much a very late game thing.
Considering the minimum entry price is...
19.9k
Ngl I have doubts about even using something like that anyways
:v
remember, Cyberpunk is a game where everything the players can get is something their opposition can get, often more easily
((9.9 is the cheapest body, the bio system is 10k
the Wiseman isnt just the ultimate upgrade for a Decker PC, its what an enemy corporate decker could have
True, though tbh I feel like I'd pick up the Linear Frame instead
Since y'know
Netrunning can get you killed pretty fast
Well you can technically save on costs if you pitch in your old cyberware towards the new body, tbh
wiseman's an FBC, so it comes with one built in
personally I like the really cheap FBCs, Alpha or Gemini
They are very cool.
Buying the later ones is kind of like getting a car.
It's almost more likely that getting one would be a long heist instead
they're still exorbitant by the standards of everything else, but with the giant stack of free cyberware they end up costing less max humanity than getting everything normally and give you a ton of upgrade potential
Gemini especially is good for being sneaky
I do question if RK as a character would ever get an FBC too since he's kinda done with making sacrifices
even the Dragoon w/ Biosystem is "only" 45k
which is less than the High Performance Ground Car (50k) and the Super Groundcar (100k)
oh right forgot they added more vehicles in one of the other books
Honestly seems too low tbh
yeah
Nomads kinda muddy the waters.
Like tbh part of me is thinking that something extreme would have to happen for RK to consider finally going over the edge
cybernetics have basically always been cheap in cyberpunk
relatively speaking, of course
The expensive part is that they keep your humanity low.
And that's scary
Because with enough crap loaded up you are basically one bad day from snapping.
Again, itโs actually less humanity loss than getting the stuff as separate gear
Krampus
Yes it is.
even in 2020, where the prices of things are more real-world-y, Alpha is only 40k and Gemini is 55k (all in)
I feel like it also has heavy narrative repercussions.
Like tbh maybe D'arby (if I ever ported her to CPR) would be an FBC but someone like RK has already been amputated multiple times and really doesn't want to lose more of himself
(CityCar is basically the MaiMai in '77)
Like. Unless you go for the ones that look human, a lot of people suddenly don't like you, because they have this perception that Fullborgs are fucked in the head.
Thanks Adam
theres a reason most full-borgs go that way for employment reasons
Also PoV:
Your GM says Adam Smasher is coming but he's on your side (this is still a bad thing)
https://youtu.be/Yzse69b0qMo?si=YaArLQi9fnkQK_WF
I do not own anything in this video. Enjoy the Catholic Church.
Personally I would also make maintaining Humanity harder since while you don't get debuffs for sleep etc, you might struggle to socialise with non-borgs, with how much human interactions generally revolves around eating or minor drugs.
Also, some fullborgs (like Smasher) actually have multiple bodies
"we'll pay for all your surgery plus sign you to a 10 year contract at 200k per year and give you a body of your choice if you decide not to sign up again" is a pretty tempting offer
Yeah, most of smasher's bodies are at least vaguely humanlike
One that is the โworkโ one and another โoff-dutyโ one
especially when you consider most of these are fairly ordinary if dangerous-to-unomodified-humans industrial jobs
His off-duty looks like Elvis
One of which looked like Elvis Presley (which he railed one of the Arasaka Daughters in)
Iirc he has a straight up Elvis Presley body which is weird
Didn't smasher only go full wacko boingo when his gf died?
No, she broke up with him
He was always a piece of shit
Being turned to mush twice didn't help
I mean. Full
deep sea diver, astronaut, fire-fighter, test pilot, construction worker
*soldier
Not "piece of shit", just deranged.
He never really went wacko, they call him a high functioning cyberpsycho for a reason
and the other three in Chromebook 2 are ninja spy, robocop and Dragoon
His HUM stat is literally "yeah, right", and that was before he got his Dragoon armor you see in 2077
Is the most interesting to me.
I love the Kildare..
Doesn't he also wear his old face skin over his Dragoon's faceplate?
also, original Dragoon art my beloved https://i.imgur.com/BKuD0xg.png
Battletech vibes
no. his original face is long long gone, also i hate Adam's design in '77
its "cool" but its also extremely stupid given his history
Yeah he does feel weirdly... Generic
Idk how to put it
Like idk much about Smasher's old designs but his new one just doesn't evoke anything in me?
Part of it's probably because in 77 he gets folded like a wet paperback but also he just
like why the fuck does he have a fake skinjob on the face?
Kinda lacks the menacing presence you'd expect of him?
He's a lot better in 2.1 tbh
It took me forever to realize that wasn't just paint lmao
Heh. Skinjob
I think it's less he's weak and more V is just fucking cracked
Me when I.
and moreover why is he walking around looking like an obvious murder machine when he could be just as deadly and armed and just look like a Big Dude, which is the whole point of FBCs!
Yeah that'd exist in cyberpunk tbh
Honestly he could be doing it because he thinks itโs off-putting
like it'd be way way scarier if the first encounter in the hotel room, he was just a generic big bodyguard
Use one of those skin-pocket things you can get as an improvised. yknow. Teehee
She skin on my job til I Horriffic shrieks of pain
and when he gets serious, he unfolds into the murder machine
He should have done that weird eject armour thingy.
i could see him wearing the tank-body while in the field, sure
Eh, heโs had about 30-50 years of aging, he could just be in a โI donโt give a fuck and want to mess with peopleโ mindset
but while guarding Yorinobu inside a hotel?
Where after you get him low the "skin" slougs off and you get to see that it was just the armour. are beholden to the machine.
But Tbh.
I can see the exec wanting him to Borg up
and again, swapping bodies is an option, something canonically established for Smasher, he could just have both!
Like. Hamming it up for the corpo.
"look, I am the legendary big scary guy."
he's not even actually legendary, almost nobody knows who smasher is because hes not a runner, he's arasaka black ops
I didn't have strong emotions on the body itself but like.
The fucked up face kinda works IMO.
I like it.
๐
It's the juxtaposition of the human mug with the clearly inhuman body and the eyes.
Like the face is a joke.
Thatโs not true, heโs even been interviewed in magazines
As if It's not even an attempt at resembling anything human, it's just something he does because he finds it funny.
Like, that famous Hard Rock Cafe shirt picture of him is from a magazine interview
But now I eep. Gn!
no thats from one of the adventures
I have to check how many slots there are for internal and external cyberware again, I never remember Bweh.
Jackie talks about him like an excited schoolgirl
goonight!
also importantly in the magazine interview, he never once mentions which corporation bought him
here we go, from Firestorm Shockwave https://i.imgur.com/Tr8vpe4.png
its one of his defaults, yeah
He has a few
yeah
Yeah thatโs a reference
Huh, in 20 armour stacked.
In red not only does it not stack it's actually 100% detrimental.
Since all armour ablates simultaneously.
they dramatically nerfed armor in RED
Despite only highest SP armour counting.
but thats largely due to it being much less simulationist
also from Shockwave, Johnny and Rogue during the raid on Arasaka HQ https://i.imgur.com/evEA0lE.png
johnny lowkey kinda cute here
I still question how they got his body post-bisection
same way Smasher and Blackhand somehow survived the bombing
I still think the 77 Silverhand is the peak and they could not have made him look cooler.
also, fun fact: pondsmith has said that Blackhand survived the bombing by riding smasher's chassis like a surfboard down the crumbling tower, which is not how gravity works but this is cyberpunk so fuck it we ball
'77 has a lot of retcons if you compare it to the original stories that the flashbacks are based on
The best look to come out of that game.
the flashbacks aren't retcons, they're Johnny being an unreliable narrator
that is one explanation, yes.
Keanu does a great job playing Johnny tbh
No shade to Keanu but the polish voice actor does it way better.
Keanu fails to project this very specific vitriol and resigned fatalism that only living in eastern Europe can bring into existence.
Iirc there's also a classic skin for him so if you really want him to look the part you can have old Johnny instead (it's in settings)
still, I do think he does a great job portraying a narcissistic, angry rockerboy shitheel
He's not bad he's doing great actually.
yeah the alt johnny is pretty good
very late 90s sleaze who wants to be in the 80s (even though it was actually the 20s)
Also ngl I feel like RK would try and rock an unbuttoned collared shirt if he was given the option to (just to try some things out)
I don't think it'd look very good though
i still wish they went for the combat vest version
thinks it looks cool but he just ends up looking like a fucking dork
(because he is one)
(like the alt version but keep the vest)
Also it would probably show just how scarred he is because coming out of three incidents as a quadruple amputee is gonna leave whatever's left a mess
To list it all off:
Both legs lost in a car bombing incident
Left arm lost due to a different unrelated accident
Right arm torn off by a crazy ex
There is just a visceral difference between English "cussing" which has the impact of a wet tissue slapping impotently against a brick wall, and a good polish profanity combo.
"He's fucked in the head, and you're fucked in the head, because my fucked-up head is in your head."
"Sons of bitches" no real sound to hang onto, no. Impact, you can't really hammer the tch in right.
"Skurwysyny"? the R carries the mouth feel. You can roll it. You can emphasise the hell out of it, it has impact. You can feel it hit.
It also ends on a vowel! Which is good.
whats the story behind the ex
Cause if you're really mad you can smoothly transfer into a long shriek. Yk. For enrichment.
Thought she was sweet, slowly started to see the red flags but at that point it was too late and he had a gun pulled on him. She had a set of wolvers too which ended in him losing an arm and almost bleeding out
It was not a good relationship
how did he survive
he's such a wet cat i need to hold him gently like handburger
Which is to say he dragged himself to a ripperdoc that was willing to do it without an up front payment
(said ripperdoc was of questionable quality but he got the job done)
how is this man still alive
you say he's unlucky but he's survived shit that would kill like
80% of people
The unlucky part is that he has to live through all of it
giving RK all the hugs ever jeez
oh god. the inevitably death scene is gonna be awful regardless of who dies
(this is cyberpunk, someone WILL die, its a brutal system)
doing this to RK
gentle pats for the fops
the world's most depressed cat and fops
and their totally not a bird doctor buddy :3
Daniel's pretty depressed too tbh
not as depressed but like
he's a working class person in Night City
his ass is pretty depressed
true true
but like, he seems pretty fuckin cheery compared to these two lol
yeah
he's a ray of fucking sunshine compared to them
he only cries himself to sleep every other week, instead of every week
RK is basically the guy in that JoJo meme but he hasn't done anything, Night City just has a little thing for pummeling what little self respect he has left into nothingness
Is it just that scene from Suicide Squad
what scene?
never watched
Debating if Ember has some kind of mandatory mood dampeners to prevent this
daniel gives her rapidetox to clear a poison which also incidentally gets rid of the dampeners in her system, actually feels something for the first time in years
HBOMAX Peacemaker season 1 episode 2
Just turns some music on and starts immediately sobbing
I don't think RK's gonna invade his privacy though
This is literally "I am going to cry and let out every regret I've had over the years"
aw that's actually sweet
in a sad sorta way
RK meanwhile is just always concerned about Ember after seeing the depressingly empty apartment room
One night he'll just ask if she's doing alright
"I am contractually obligated to say that i'm doin fine ๐"
"ember you begin sobbing uncontrollably whenever the mood dampeners wear off"
Also you think Ember is eating food laced with Prime Time?
daniel'd probably appreciate the intrusion
crying with someone else always feels better than crying alone
i think that she'd believe that she's fine the first time she says this
she believes it less each time she's asked though
RK just gets more concerned every time
(people he cares about being so Obviously Not Okay is part of the reason daniel cries himself to sleep)
RK is very depressed sometimes but Daniel and Ember are literally two of the only things keeping him clinging to the realm of the living
honestly i think that's true for all three of these sad wet blorbos
that and the prospect of helping others is what keeps Daniel alive tbh
Like RK has actually -> CW: Depressing ||thought of ending it all|| multiple times so having people he can actually trust and be friends with is literally keeping him alive
Having people he can care about did him a lot of good mental health wise
honestly daniel's clinic was the one thing giving him purpose until RK and Ember showed up
if he lost that he'd probably either just ||off himself|| or it'd be enough to push him to near-cyberpsychosis, without them there to support him through it at least
Tbh RK is probably still bi even with CPR's universe but I doubt he has any romantic feelings for anyone
I think my nomad is gonna take the eagletech survivalist either at creation or eventually
just seems like
convenient
also assault rifle damage with archery skill lmao
i mean
i dont see why it wouldnt be balanced, mechanically
shoulder arms and archery are both 1x skills iirc
daniel had one childhood sweetheart in the megabuilding he grew up in but the relationship went nowhere because they were both like 12, he also had a boyfriend when he worked with trauma team but it didnt work out because his ex only really wanted him for sex and not much else
they are, and it is balanced, it's just a very convenient weapon
it has a sniping scope, can take special ammo, and you won't wish you had a silencer cuz of the arrows
Tbh RK is kinda afraid of ever getting into a relationship though
Y'know
Since the last one claimed his only remaining organic limb
i think Ember's still gonna be bi as fuck, like the rest of the gang, but i haven't really thought much about if she's had any relationships in the past or whatev
the fun thing about high damage single shot shoulder arms or archery is that it's very cheap to raise, and once you get it a decent way up you can start murdering anyone without a hat by putting called shots into heads, or breaking the legs of anyone with a suspiciously large melee weapon
classic Solo activities
bonus points if you splash out an an exqual/smartgun weapon with a scope, at that point you can aimed shot anything that can't dodge or just reliably chunk anything that can
Ngl that's part of why I wanna spec RK into tech (or have a friendly tech on the team)
Just so he can be more useful in a fight if he can't netrun
good lird with Ember and RK specced into Tech, the gang's gear is gonna be cracked
daniel isn't specced into gear type tech but his technique is just so high that he can do nonmedical tech stuff okayish
all of these blorbos are tech nerds of various descriptions lol
gun nerd, computer nerd, cyberware nerd
ngl I am having way to much fun with the edit feature in the app
"We're not responsible for your shenanigans with this cyberlimb so don't even try to sue us"
Describes every cyberpunk blorbo weill I think :3
:)
:3
lmao
Daniel likes when skirt goes spinny :3
aight i gotta get some descriptions for Ember's stuff now
a lot of RK's fashion is a mix of "I got this out of a dumpster/bargain bin" and "this actually looks alright"
Most of Daniel's fashion he bought while working with Trauma Team
He could not afford most of this stuff now lmao
Also he needs his virtuality goggles too
So i'm just imagining him with this big ass vr headset over his mask
oh he has them, and he definitely wears them over the mask
which looks like
RPG character levels of weird
RK, your cool stat of 2 is showing
also reminder that he's duct taping his cyberdeck to his arm too
yknow I'm surprised 'tacticool' isn't an actual fashion type
tbh I'd put that in the urban flash category
I think Ember's gonna end up with a casual outfit or two, her work outfit (cyberninja cat) and maybe a like, more businessy outfit for corpo shit if the gm allows
well, knowing Cyberpunk, it'd be called like 'Mall Ninja Chic' or something
no seriously it'd probably be considered Urban Flash mechanically
could also be Gang Colors
but yeah RK has a good outfit he just
can't leverage any of it lol
I feel like that makes sense since walking around in corpo attire/all military equipment nets you the wrong kind of attention
Yee
I think her favorite jacket is gonna be from before she joined the Corp, as a memento
Yknow, I can also imagine ember just kinda chilling undressed at home, cuz just comfy to not be in a business suit or milgear after a day
I can also imagine her kinda forgetting she has guests over cuz she's so unaccustomed to like, being around people lol
RK just looks away lol
Daniel probably doesn't care
he cuts open naked people on a daily basis, he's used to it lmao
also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QyBdH-_bDvg RK/Daniel/Ember gang vibes I think
tbh though RK isn't really free from embarassment either because he kind of has to sit at the local laundromat in nothing but his underwear
if he's lucky enough to get there when nobody else is hanging around
daniel kinda has to lay low when his kevlar-clothes are all in the wash too
because then he has no armor, which is bad news when you're so close to a Combat Zone

the sillies all hanging in Ember's apartment lol
littlest guys ever
Daniel would 100% have that song playing in his clinic
happy beats while you get your insides shoved back in :3
also yeah RK in general is probably gonna like
instantly deflate if he's in a place like Ember's apartment once he gets used to it being all empty
daniel could very much get used to not having to deal with the constant smell of chemicals :3
unironically this man just relaxes completely once he's in an actual safe space
dude goes flat hamster mode
he's such a fucking little guy he deserves to be happy
he doesnt deserve to live in a shithole like night city
literally melted fops
Fr
Ultimate campaign goal
Get the fuck out of the city
Just like 2077 lol
no hot nomad gf tho ๐
RK's campaign goal just being to pay some nomads to smuggle him out of NC
but honestly I doubt it because he'd feel bad about it
"Fuck you mean smuggle, I could drive you out right now"
And the real question:
"Where are you even gonna go."
i mean, dont you need a pass in order to not get blown up by Militech when entering or leaving Night City by land?
Truly tragic that she's straight and ya can't have nomad gf as fem V
dont the sexualities follow body type but V's gender follow your voice?
In, yeah you need to get checked right but out? As long as you don't haul contraband you're golden IIRC
could be remembering wrong
that's the scary part
because there is nowhere to go
at least for RK
he could try and live it out in the wastes but there's nothing for him there and any other US city is probably only slightly better than Night City
"If you think somewhere else is better you're shit out of luck, boy. There's nothing out there that's any less fucked up than it is in here."
I think your whole-ass gender is tied to voice, who's into you and what people refer to you as
Daniel could try and meet back up with his family but like, it's a crapshoot if he'd survive the journey
his best chance would be to try and join a nomad clan because like, doctors are always in demand
Ember needs to find out how to get away from biotechnica first if she wants to leave the city
She also needs to realize that she wants away from biotechnica even before that
but yeah, unless something really fucked up just completely breaks him, Daniel's staying in NC unless his friends are all leaving
I think what makes it worse is that RK might ultimately be forced to come crawling back to Night City due to the unification war
โ "Ooh, I'm gonna join the nomads and get oout of here!" first of all.. Hah! Suuure. Second of all? Congratulations! Everything still sucks, but now you live in a car.
Oh?
I don't know much about cyberpunk lore and timeline
Myers basically started an entire war against the free states of America
this ended in them begrudgingly cooperating with the NUSA while keeping them independent still
which tbh
that's still a pretty shit deal
the war lasted for one year
is that why there's the explodey militech border thing that enforces the map border in 2077?
Honestly depending on how deep into the wilds you are being a Nomad may be the most stable and fuckery-free existence in the time of the Red
Yeah but Depending on the pack, unless you sell your services to other nomads (escorting cargo, etc) you can't live off of the wild wilds.
You still need parts and you need Choo2.
Not to mention nomads get worse overall in the red.
Like there are confirmed just glorified "Nomad" Gangs that roll up on caravans to fuck them up and take anything they can.
That's... Kinda what keeps the shipment protection nomads in business in the first place
other issue is y'know
being out in the wilds and getting sick isn't a good thing
Giving Vic a prophet streak
kill raffen shiv NOW
sand scavs fr
"Enjoy what you got. It's gonna get fuckin worse." Style
`"Calm down. You're all fuckin bright eyed and shit, but I've been out there, and it's no better. Possibly worse in some places. I don't know. The real cut of it? We've lost. This is it. It's only gonna get worse. You're an edge runner, a little rebel and what not. But tell you what? You really could blow up Arasaka, or Miltech, potentially. Or Biotechnica. You could. It's technically possible. But it won't change shit. Another vulture is gonna swoop in and gorge on the corpse. The Cause? It's already lost baby, the writing's in the sand. It has been lost for what... Twenty years? I don't know enough history to tell you.
So like... Buy good food. That's what you can think of as your nirvana. Cause it's not getting any better. Not really. Not unless you get worse to get ahead"`
I think RK would probably settle down all the way up in Ohio if he was smuggled out of Night City but would make the long haul back once the Unification War starts
โ "People keep looking over the horizon for some next best thing as if it hasn't been smoking for the past decade."
(shit she tells you seconds before hopping herself up on some drug and zoning out)
"Guess I know why you keep doping yourself out on whatever you can find now..."
I don't think RK would even blame her
yknow cyberpunk is just fucking depressing
like. shit like helldivers or 40k is so over the top its funny. cyberpunk's just sad
She won't tell anyone that but No, that's because Every second that isn't spent increasing adrenaline levels feels painfully, excruciatingly boring to her.
(/pos)
ahhh ok
She's a rebel not for any Ideological reasons, but because doing anything but mindless, bone-headed, preferably violent rebellion feels like slowly rotting to death
I think I might just narratively give her a broken Kerez?
goodnight :3
Because she's kind of... Built around that perception.
i might give Daniel a kerez or sandy at some point to help get to people's injuries faster
I wish the Kerez just increased your Reflexes as it should
yeah, kinda sucks body's the only stat you can really raise
I think popping it up to 1k would make it reasonable.
and even then, to raise body, you need a high body stat to begin with
Actually no, cause it doesn't increase your health.
Like the bone thingy does.
I think you need a minimum of... 6?
But also not really
oh yeah rite
You can get 2 intplugs
And get the external inline.
It just won't increase your HP
Or you can get the FBC :)
... I should make my maidbot girl in cyberpunk too I think.
But that might be even more of s fucked up story.
Goodnight!
nightmarish indeed
thinkin s'more on moped
..mmm...
Considering doing a terrible and awful thing
What is it?
Making Mop in Cyberpunk.
I see two ways to do it
Ope. Actually just one, mechanically
Who is Mop again?
The maid robot lady.
@cerulean copper ((Slow cause of classes :p
Ok so the Idea is basically to fuck up her background by basically ruining her role :p
Oh no
Ofc it would require a GM who wouldnt shoe me for it.
But the Idea is to start her off with Nomad, and then immediately sell the borrowed car, which is just enough to buy the cheapest stuff.
Which would of course immediately void all access to the role skills, and probably piss off the Nomads, so there's a lot of of rather hefty downsides to it :p
I'd be down for it, it gives the GM enemy ammunition
Also just now realizing this could be a nomad car lmao
Lmao
Big fan of the lance
Yeah you can abs mount a VHeavy melee.
Mm... narratively having her steal a car from a corpo she was a chauffeur to.
Orr... Yeah I can work this out :v
Also an exec might just be a better lawman ngl
Also thinking about RK needing to get used to his new legs when he lost them
He probably had to be in crutches for a bit before he got the hang of using cybernetics
(Autocorrect is very used to she, apparently)
He did this against the recommendations he was given
If I mistype it tends to go for she over he.
Yeah it's a fun Idea.
Then I can either start upgrading nomad and make her narratively join a nomad gang at some point, or I could level Exec and make her get into the previously rival corpo.
((she stole the car because she wasn't paid enough to afford the treatment she needed))
... So I see two ways of going about it, I start off with Nomad, giving her the driving skills, or I start off with corpo exec, pick a driver as the assigned co-worker, and steal his car to sell...
Either way I lose access to most role effects.
((with corpo I lose access to a home and the assigned coworkers, with nomad to the cars.
With corpo I keep... Checks notes A suit.
And with nomad the driving skills.
With corpo being more finagly, but you lose more.
Iirc you can't even sell the suit either
Also tbh if you do sell the car you could still get the like
Uh
Tiny box car
Nopes
I don't think there are vehicles cheap enough to do it like that.
Lmao
.. the bicycle.
You "can't" (they'd get "suspicious")
So there is a suggestion that you can but it will have consequences.
Same if you keep crashing your cars like a gonk and can't pay for repairs.
Hence, my Idea that you could take it to extremes.
Actually nvm I guess the jetboy doesn't count as a vehicle either
Also if I don't get hit with the consequences of my actions, why would the GM permit me to commit my bullshit in the first place? :3
Still have no Idea what job she'd take after tho, tbh
Nah She'd either go into medicine, or become a techie.
Tbh I'd allow it purely because it means mechanically, you are -600 IP
found a neat lil picrew and made Combat, Corp, and Casual outfit Ember :3
The kitty car :3
This is adorable
What picrew is tyat btw? I wanna try making one :>
closest i could get to himb :3 (obviously he doesnt actually dress this fancy)
I'll make a more accurate version in heroforge later :>
the him :3
i'd trust this guy to pull out my whole-ass spine and replace it with cybernetics :3
Ngl I wonder if RK is just weirdly ripped lmao
ember def doesn't look as strong as she is
honestly the fact Daniel has 5 BOD when being built like a twig is impressive
he's not necessarily strong, just healthy :3c
Ember's not skinny but she definitely doesn't look like 8 Body huge
athletic sure but not like, built yknow
his hitpoints are stored in the thighs, you see- shot
Picturing RK meeting Mop while dumpster diving.
