yeah i think the anti-ranged bias is a bit strong. the map and enemy design already strongly discourages any kind of camping and punishes tunnel vision pretty severely
Did you get the new Warhammer 40k Darktide Arbites DLC, and you're feeling bummed out that no one else will get to see your dog's name? You can actually see the names of EVERYONE'S dogs in Darktide, you just have to turn the right settings on in the Interface menu!
Big news
let people shoot guns!
Game needs Vermintide 2 infinite ammo crates at random
Looks like kuli's Steam guide on debuffs is saying Tier 5 mod is -60% so not so bad, I think early Havoc was -85% yeah
yep
85, that seems nonfunctional
there's so much more enemy mass in elites in havoc 40 now so a vet with the aura will get a lot of value
It also reduces grenade pickups from veteran super boxes
yeah initial release havoc was basically zealot+psykerville
because ogryns hadn't been reworked and sucked
and veterans just could not afford to shoot
so it was all knife zealots and psykers
What's FOTM psykerstaff, is Voidstrike still cracked
I dont really qualify the classes based on their peformance in Havoc as far as "good" vs "suck"
How rework-y are we talking
flame
solid buffs
same as it ever was tbh
i think it was just a light touch rework, like shuffling nodes around on the tree and buffing some bad nodes.
Ogryn was one of those 'I don't know which nodes are the bad nodes'
is gungryn useful now?
nice
Luckily all the ogryn nodes are good nodes now
because they gave a node that is basically like
I felt functional as Grenadaier Gauntlet Gungryn so should be doing nicely
half-ass ogryn weapon spec
if you get 10 melee kills your next shot is a guaranteed crit, scaling up in crit per kill
so you can combine that with lucky bullet to get infinite free ammo shots if you're good at counting to 10
my favourite ogryn ranged weapon was the funny GL that bonks people and bounces off their head
ogryn? Counting?
i'm not counting shit mid-combat i'm gonna be real with you
This explains the proliferation of rumbler gungryns I see
and it makes the shot not take ammo
so you can immediately fire the rumbler twice
for example
technically you can fire it as many times in a row as you can crit
even twin stubber gungryn feels prtty good
though you will likely still poop through all your ammo if you run heavy into havoc
but like, its very fun otherwise
especially if you just like dakka
im curious to try nuncio aquilla combo'd with coward culling
for maximum suppression
Bonus points for braced auto with the powder burn
anyway the ogryn rework really made them like, functional at high havoc
particularly the dodge and taunt changes
they also just in general feel smooth as butter
the dodge knockdown is so good
for qol
shame though, veteran is probably my favourite class and i'm primarily drawn towards the stealth/exec playstyle more than the shouter
More bombs comes out of bomb box good
Bad for graphics cards though
oh yeah the game actually runs pretty decently for me now, i haven't dipped below like 95 with FSR3
It still works great on auric high intensity since there's enough bullets to go around, I play those a lot
You can jazz up a recon lasgun to one tap shooters per one ammo spent and that's just clean fun
veteran needs another skill tree rework and like, something to rebalance their actives
zealot needs a skill tree rework not because of power level but just because the "ideal" zealot build is very samey
wouldn't this be the.....fourth? vet rework
yeah arbiter seems very pro-cross-treeing
the main thing is that vet's identity is being a shooter, but a lot of the desire to rework them is to push them into being a melee specialist
but yeah some node reworking on vet would be good
to let you be a bit more freeform
and there's no reason not to be! the taxes don't accomplish anything
basically for zealot the top part of the tree the good stuff is on the right side, then the left side in the middle, then at the bottom you have some variety but like, by that point you've only got points left to pick one of 3
If it’s not enough to push my long suffering card over the edge it’s prolly fine for most people
(for havoc the effect is even more pronounced but even below that)
for havoc it's like, you need duelist and holy revenant and the nodes on the right side above knives
(My game just crashed trying to g to render the inside of the drop ship loading screen

I have a suspicion that a lot of the Mortis trials are playtest data for Zealot tree new passive nodes.
The fire effects around charge, the gaining toughness while standing in your own fire, all the fire stuff lately feels like part of a Zealot rework will include talents that build off of setting things on fire
sorry, what does 'counting as' dodging mean here? surely it doesn't give you the invuln to ranged fire
Chorus healing purple bar beyond wounds?
That one is specifically the "run perpendicular to bullets to dodge them" mechanic
the effect is you can do it while you're out of stamina
so it's basically nothing, while also having the same effect as a 5% movespeed node.
i guess it also counts for the 'dodging attacks does x' nodes?
one would imagine! however,
The whole thing is moot because you dashslide to dodge bullets anyways
Even Vet now, you're mostly using grenades and melee cause gun ammo is fairly scarce even with vet aura
Zealots waiting for their 1st tree rework
Should give vet a unique gun with unlimited ammo based on steady regen
Arbites has very few stat nodes, theres like 3 toughness one and its like +25 toughness
Taking all the speed nodes on Arbites gets you schmooving at a pretty good gait turns out
Theres several good Attack speed on arbites and if you grab them all you swing a crusher as fast as as a base combat axe
Turns out doing the 16 mission campaign is good enough to get a fresh character to 26 and get to level 20 mastery on one pair of weapons and level 15 on another so that was pretty chill
They should bundle holy revenant into the base zealot kit tbh
I dont know about base kit, but holy revenant should be a very accessible node if zealot tree is reworked
It should be free because everyone's gonna want it
And no matter where you put it on the tree, that direction is the magnet.
Arbite's has like central nodes it's very easy to grab strong options and even at one point it bottlenecks into 1 talent you have to take iirc
It bottlenecks twice and both bottlenecks are +25 toughness, which makes me laugh
Level 30 arbites basically has 50 extra toughness then lol
Wish arbites got more toughness DR
Only 10% feels
Bad
Even with all the means of toughness regen they get
That's the least out of ANY class
they have a lot of other sources of dr tho? Conditional yes, but if you're in their happy place (knee deep in lex breakers) they are tanky
True, but I'd rather have something slightly more consistent
The one capstone that grants DR stacks is nice, does help with the lack of toughness DR, and it's ridiculously easy to build up
They have quite a few I believe
Do you count as an ally
Cause if so
I think arbites might have more sources of TDR than zealot and DR than ogyrn
you just need to be smacking people the entire time
Which means they're kinda vulnerable to being gunned down
And dont forget the one that limits max damage to 50 HP
Shot pistol stays winning
It seems so
Keystones also have some but i havent looked yet
Arbites having good potential of high DR and TDR is wild tankiness
has anyone built bolt pistol on vet or is it more of a zelly tool as a "kill this heavy/shooter NOW" button
the bullet hose experience on recon las is fun but I wanna mix things up so I don't get bogged down
IMO, bolt pistol is a great generalist weapon for Vet.
I am also thinking about the fact that like
every party I'm in has 3 arbites lol
someone really does need to be killing those ranged guys for the sake of un-pinning the team
I assume once the hype normalises we'll see some more balanced range bands
team comp-wise
Bolt pistol builds fine for weapon specialist builds
You kind of take most wep spec builds but use bolt pistol
Inhuman tattoos you say?
Lmao
Run n Gun blessing and puncture or lethal proximity are generalist winners and you can also spec for a billion damage a shot with surgical / extra deadly
Oh, I just realized you can change the difficulty of the campaign missions. whoops lol
Anyone run shredder on the arbites yet?
the. the autopistol???
Yeah bolt pistol with run and gun is one of my favourite general use weapons
Just the snappiest draw to kill time of any weapon I've ever used
It's like the agri revolver on easy mode since the hip fire is kinda more accurate than the targeted fire up to mid range
not yet because of work but it's my plan the moment I get the class going
I have been
it works really well with the keystone on the right
stacks it quick and lets you proc the stagger blessing on it real quick
And while it has issues with carapace I found with the maul and shield you could just bully crusher packs
you are tanky once you are swinging in melee
i have found that the more similar something is to vet shout the gooderer it is
arbites boosts and benefits from suppression, stagger and cleave
these are all things the shredder does and it doesn't do much else
What's the two-handed maul's special activation useful for?
Not sure it's actually doing any more damage than a regular charged heavy overhead
and I think it has a potential to be extremely funny to just let out a short spray and everyone in that post code is Highly Inconvenienced
and arbites talents pop and you turn to an elite and actually sandblast their face off
there's no way you're talking about the autopistol here right
The arbites maul alt melee you can activate mid swing combo and i believe it resets the chain
autopistol indeed

nah, the autopistol really is that good unless there is carapace on the field
I have legitimately not once ever seen that weapon be above "you're basically running pure melee" on any other class
so I am baffled but intrigued as to how you might make it good on arby's
it's definitely one of the weakest guns in the game
but has a few builds where it works
It's best blessing trigger on suppression and stagger
arby's best abilities trigger on stagger (and they have a solid suppression one as well)
Build I was running tonight
Ran it in an auric chasm logistratum with the new mod
i don't like that this makes sense
not top enemies staggered though
yeah that is almost exactly the same build as what I had theorycrafted
big brains think alike
lone wolf shock mines
they were playing smite psyker but good
but yeah
this build lets me regularly split from the group and solo a horde plus elites
you're just a huge fucking brick
too close to home
On this why not do this path, cleave on push attack would apply to gun
I just kind of imagine that people fall over enough that you don't need plasma gun levels of cleave
Target the Weak acts as a party buff because I can't really do boss damage with this lol
autopistol is not a bolt gun
I guess you probably wouldn't use autopistol in havoc so that much cleave isnt needed
havoc is basically an entirely different game
I just use the in game one
as soon as I saw the arbites tree I was like "I'm gonna autopistol this" so I'm relieved to hear I'm not alone or mad
I was looking at bolter and castigator stance
tbf that's also really strong
the class has some solid boss busting if you build it right
ain't zealot with thammer, but solid
The one I want to do for fun is a giga high cleave one with double barrel and just fire that 3 round double barrel like a dozen times in a row
Havoc kinda being it's own thing is kind of why I often don't like the good vs suck scale of weapons being defined by them lol
Or for classes for that matter
hold on this is kind of goated
what's the use case for thunderstrike on the crusher? impact seems useless if you're hitting people who are already staggered, doesn't it?
If you reach a high enough impact value it upgrades the stagger from light/medium/heavy
Heavy being thrown on its back, thunderstrike isnt taken often at all
Yeah, a lot of blessing are filler that don't really see play
does anyone have a perk setup on the bolt pistol
I've tried lethal prox / puncture and it is fairly stinky
This one's pretty popular
Crusher comedy mostly, the thunderstrike stacks go to 8 so if you're attacking with the special that hits twice (bc of impact+explosion) it ramps up immediately to 8
What're you having trouble with when you run that setup?
I think I just wasn't used to having to aim for head more on the bolt revolver than the revolver revolver
I mean, you don't really have to, depending on the target and your blessings - Dreg Gunners die in two hits no matter the location, afaik
I'm currently rocking the bolter with the random tagging ability. Incredibly useful for managing specialists etc.
Not tried it with Castigator stance though.
for me the ideal would be reliably one-tapping shooters because I end up having to be cleanup duty on a team full of double barrelled shotties
Flak + Unarmored damage perks oughta do the trick then, can sub lethal proximity for execution
puncture is a weird one
You get one taps anywhere on Damnation/Auric shooters no matter what your perks are
it doesn't add that much damage, but the pistol has a tendency to miss breakpoints by a sliver
so puncture deals with that without spending another bullet
and that is, somehow, pretty valuable
holy smokes we got another shredder pistol user in this havoc
No ammo pickup is safe from the brrrt
I occasionally use shredder pistol but it's mostly because I am not smart
getting back in after a long time of not playing
setting up my Arby's order
Now that I have the doggy class up to 30 I now have the decision paralysis of a full tree available to me instead of beelining down the middle, does anyone have good castigate or kruber charge setups?
What weapon combos do you like?
executioner 8 shotgun + whatever melee makes you feel happiest
exe 3 shotgun + shield/shock maul
Bonus damage to electrocuted blessings?
I leveled with this and can confirm brittleness shells rule
on the shield at least, yeah, shotgun is full bore/the bonus damage vs staggered
No Respite is a super good blessing for sure
Oh shoot I got that backwards, yeah Execution makes a lotta sense
ah yes, the
exaction exterminator with execution
if you can't say it three times quickly yer a traitor
Do you guys have tricks for killing crushers as arbites besides perma stun it? So far its the exterminator that has brittle bullets
If you run brittleness dog on bottom left that counts for a lot
Opportunist blessing or nah?
yup
Might as well always take opportunist if you take the melee weakspot hits always count as staggered talent
The relevant talents are Concussive (you basically should always take this), Strike Down, Weight of the Lex, and Emperor's Fist
Concussive is basically your global damage enabler vs big targets
It's a must have
Ill make a note of that, im still learning the names of talents. Is there a reason shield is specifically good for crushers?
the speical can stun them even out of their attacks, makes for a great opening
Ah I see, I wonder if crusher the weapon can stun crushers
it can yes
The final evolution of the baseball bat
I was going to try it since it seems very safe and has a super wide swing
Hammerblow helps a lot
And I assume the heavy would deal the most out of the mauls
crusher also 4 shots, and this is without opportunist
i imagine with the right setup it can 3 tap a crusher on demand but you sacrifice Slaughterer
and that sucks
Push attack might be the key since it has a high finesse modifier
huh wow it does
I remember that weird quirk that made it real strong with zealot
Duelist made it wild
Is slaughterer a talent or blessing?
Yea that was what I remembered, goes wild on scab ragers packs and one shotting without needing to use the alt melee charge up
overall my thoughts on arbites rn are
a) very well designed
b) amazing for adhd players
c) feels really good to play but has a much more even field of power vs the other classes; i dont think there's a build that's blatantly better than any other and its definitely not better than ogryn, or zealot at full tilt
Agreed, its probably cause its the only class designed from the ground up with 2 years of player feedback and experience fully in mind
It's sort of the same "problem" vermintide 2 had, the vision of the game at launch was different from like years later and what players wanted. Base classes were made for the old vision and DLC classes were always seen as better with the current game in mind and they never had time to fully rework old ones, just adjust numbers so they can keep up
New Ogyrn though gives me hope vet and zealot will get their trees redone, espcially zealot
My kingdom for a Loner Aura replacement
If only
a bit behind on this, but i actually had one of my more incautious buddies use the crusher on zealot and max out impact as much as possible, they were MUCH more able to survive thanks to it, and even then it could stumble just about anything. Arby can get more impact and stagger, so it can absolutely stumble effectively all comers short of a boss
Yeah the magic Impact number for staggering a crusher a bit is 95 (halved to 47.5 if you bonk 'em in the face) and a heavy Crusher hit can do that with +125% or so impact (Hammerblow gets the job done)
effectively, if you max out impact and just light spam, you can bowl over just about any threat
making it kind of ideal for a player who is not really able to protect themselves
and also likes to just left click
Yeah hammerblow on the lights gets to 49.5 stagger which is real neat for bonking
I really need to come up with a doggoxshotgun build on the arbitor
i guess it would be shotgun aas main weapon and doggo for elite
don't have the keystone yet
castigator stance of course
I dont have a 30 arbites yet, but until my castigator build is online im doing the charge one and the spammability of it is wild
Its like 11 seconds CD with ability curio perks
the shotgun with a 4 round mag+castigator+crusher+Execution Order is a boss and elite mulcher
how do other shotguns stack up against the executioner post buff?
They're still precision headshot machines, they just have about half the cleave so Man Stopper blessing matters more
Did they change (newly acquired) items at some point so it's always one stat at 60, the rest at 80?
nope because I have received multiple that aren't like that
I got a bunch while leveling that were the mythical 76/76/76/76/76
Ah. Ok, just a coincidence then lol
Not recently since ive played Unlocked and Unloaded it tends to spike like that
God the force stave primary fires need some love
Near useless at the present
Slow projectile with no pierce and low damage
I guess the stagger isn't AWFUL but it's barely worth using for that
...speaking of force staves and stagger why the fuck does the first staff melee have so much stagger, holy shit
Send maulers onto their ass in a single tap
The basic force bolt has a lot of forgiven sins on account of having unlimited ammo and being attached to the much more powerful and also unlimited ammo secondary
Mmm, true
If the psyker wants good guns that don't also spew fire or lightning or explosions, they can bring them. Those have ammo
I do think there should be more variance though, tie the force bolt type and stats to the type of staff it is, kind of like in vermintide
are the servers laggy for everyone?
If you build for it it can be neat
learned something:
the cylinder head mastiff has "M-0LL-Y" stamped on it- the name of the mocap dog they had for the mastiff was named Molly
a fun little tribute
I do have a bit of a meme but fun build for it
scryer staff
personaly i scryer with bolt pistol. Cause every one gansta 'till the psyker get a bolt pistol
on one head the more cybor the mastiff, the more badass it gets. On the other the less doge you get
I like it because it fits with me using my dog as a walking hand grenade (dw she likes it- it's enrichment)
An electric personality
man what the fuck. there's no maelstrom in the rotation- the new board fucking sucks
Did you skip the campaign with this character?
Or are you saying there isn't any at the moment, cause yea I find that weird there's only sometimes maelstroms
It's a reported bug on the Fatshark Forums that the maelstroms sometimes don't show up so might get hotfixed
Yeah the update broke a couple things, unfortunately
At least they patched the Ogryn crash relatively quickly
Trip report: Castigation stance with a aimed Revolver and the ammo refund is super cool
Good to see they fixed Ogyrn issue quickly since well it disabled a class for people who dont mod, such a weird reason for a crash, game devs really are tech priests
So like ive never really looked into how to use crusher well before, so id like advice if im missingg anything about it.
What perks/blessings paid well on it for arbites? So far im doing slaughterer/opportunist since I have concussive force. Not sure on perks at all.
I know the horde clear combo is L, H, L, H
Push attack is the weakspot crusher killer
The one that inflicts Brittleness is nice, and Slaughterer is just a given
Helps mow down the larger fellas more effectively
relic blade... ogh
Good ogh or bad ogh
it's... it's perfect
Ok agreed
i've rediscovered the heavy attack focused one and yeah it kinda is
Do you know the MK 2 trick?
they made the power sword actually interesting
The attack chain always gives you access to light or heavy
is that the one with the push attack stab?
oh yeah i prefer the other one in my experience
2 requires more awareness of attack chain buy very flexible and you can consistent just wide swing forever or stabdown forever and swap between those on the fly
Its satisfying once you learn it, highly recommend trying it a bit you get used to mk 10
Does the arbites like any of the rejects?
mk. II relic blade my beloved
It feels like it has one of the higher skill ceilings for a melee weapon in the whole game.
There's so much more cool stuff to make it do.
Its one of the ones with higher skill floor and good benefits from reaching the skill ceilings. I can think of some that are needlessly complex and hardly gives much benefit
If you dont learn the combo its like not good compared to other mark
Mine seems to like some of the vets occasionally. She keeps calling psykers "liability"
i see
eviscerator fucks now
yeah that's what I'm saying- it sucks that there isn't consistent maelstroms like pre update
The one place they fumbled for arbites update, the mission board
I know of a bug where you might never see maelstrom and the fix is to go to barber and forget campaign to skip it.
i'm redoing my ogryn trees rn -- am i correct in thinking that the rending node on Point Blank Barrage is better than the burning one for using a twin stubber?
nah the burning one goes crazy
Burn is best on the higher fire rate it stacks up big
i really like the shield/shotpistol in theory but the exaction shotguns. ough.
they just Hit Right
im feeling like i wanna finish the campaing with a weapon i already have levels on rather than leveling up weaker ones as i get to lvl 30
what do yall think?
Use the guns you like because you can buy mastery for guns at 30 with greens
Does character level have to do with experience gained from sacrificing?
Nope just the power of the sacrificed weapon
Higher level = higher power = more XP
I got an extra money relic on my arbites and that's a fun time. I do wonder about the weapon combos for that class
I see the bolt gun but I'm pretty happy with the developed bolt pistol I'm rocking
I've been having a really good time with brutal momentum combat axes with a bottom right forceful build
Hmm bolter has puncture and strong suppression/stagger by itself. I could get bloody dognade and im sure bolter could have some neat synergy with castigator and arbites
I'm trying to justify other ranged options than Bolt Pistol but it's just such a damn multitool
im enjoying the shotpistol
as a great answer to the 'holy shit look at all these shooters' problem
Are you using Run N Gun or nah
So much cleave
Just started recently and it's quite good but also somehow feels.. cheesy? Feels like I'm playing Boltgun again and that's fun but idek
I don't like having one answer to all things I like folks having weaknesses to cover with teamwork and whatnot
I guess it's not a horde weapon
Unless they're in a hallway
The Shotguns and my Force Greatsword are too closely related for 'em
Also got spoiled by the Ogryn offerings
whuh
The Ogryn Shotguns feel so ridiculous that it made the others feel less impactful
Haven't played with the Arbites offerings though still being pouty about 12$
Does the shock maul sheild flash count as staggering enemies?
Yup
Oh I have a build idea then
Honestly I almost feel like they goofed giving the Arbites one of them from the start because separating from it is so hard
Once I get up to 30 I think I'll make a dog build with shotgun and a dogless build with the bolter to achieve the game feel of playing a space marine
I get trapper netted from behind about 4000% more without the pupper so beware the cackles
I'm on such a trapper/dog audio-que swivel that it can lead me to get smacked by guys in front of me while I whip around looking for them, so it's a fair point. I do feel like the dog could become such an ease of use QoL thing that it becomes hard to be separated from it
Especially for those couple thousand people who apparently are starting to play DT with this recent update
Rechargable stun mines are pretty wild though
Yeah, I'm really torn already been dogbomb and the stun mines
Dog zippy zap will stagger monstrosities and the mine won't so the plan to go bolter goes good with burning down a wiggly spinny chaos spawn
Zarona shotgun with scattershot/flechette is kinda powerful too though I run that with bleed/brittleness pupper
Stun mines have benefit of letting you solo revive/puzzle
Drop a mine right before and you're usually fine enough
Stun mines are good but I always fall into the trap of never using them because what if I run into a pack of crushers or ragers
But that's who the mines are for?
edit: oh wait I get it now, it's item conservation thing
If you have lone wolf just yeet them everywhere
On Aurics you could throw them at every rager pack and still have one for bulwarks/crushers
I like the arbites shotgun
Yeah it's that "I gotta hoard these for the Big Special Moment" mindset where they just end up not getting used
I feel like I should have two lone wolf builds, one with regular grenades and one with the mines
Both are just pretty damn useful
...god I wish dropping into a mission didn't mean inheriting the wound loss of someone else
Tired of paying for someone else's incompetence
I kinda use grenades on a "smoke em if you got em" mentality and just figure it out when I don't
But also, break the line forgives many sins
And enemies knocked to the ground can't hurt you
love to spawn inside a moshpit with about 3 frames to gather my bearings
I have no nades, my gun is dry, I am on death's door
Don't mind that as much with my psyker since I run Voidblast
Point at the floor and KABOOM, problem solved
...god I love Voidblast, severely underrated stave
Staggers the shit out of anything short of a boss
Pack of crushers? TELL ME HOW THE GROUND TASTES, FUCKHEADS
The game has enough long hallways that I can't not go Voidstrike Bowling
Lore-accurate rejects
I'm thinking a melee centric no puppy kind of build really wants one of the shield weapons (either one) because there's nothing more 40k than charging a line of gunners and knocking down the front ones and then getting blasterized by the back ones who were just out of range
Love story of John Lex and John Cadia https://www.rxddit.com/r/DarkTide/s/jZF4wP7HdG
I don't rember, are dodges in any way affected by movement speed?
...hey actually
can arbites enter slide from walking with all the movespeed effects going on at once
since its activation is tied to speed rather than sprint state
there are like 5 movespeed talents in the tree so if anyone's ever going to break the slide barrier it'll be arbites
Arbite's has a lot of move speed talents for some reason
That reason is it rules to move at Quake strafe speeds while ADS
I kind of love the Arbites speedwalking strat
I've been running a shield build with the Forceful keystone and it's so much fine just walking towards a gun line, popping your special, and going to town
Everything short of a boss that build can bully tbh
just light spam it out
horde? light spam
ragers? light spam
crusher pack? believe or not light spam
It turns out having a billion stagger per light owns really hard
No shield old shock maul also speed runs forceful stacks because every disco twitch from the electrocute special adds a stack
oh yeah, I've heal tanked a gunner with a shock mine
just picked up my ally while a gunner was laying into me because I shock mined like 3 dudes lol
arbites shock maul is, pun intended, shockingly good at crowd control
slapping everything around you with impact and electrocuted
What're folks blessing choices for the arbites weapons?
Briar had a coupla good setups back here:
#1159883850562932826 message
Disco Aquila is a mod for Darktide that changes the Arbites' Nuncia Aquila to have disco lights and music
Taking castigator with move speed talents you basically move at sprint speed of an Ogyrn but without the stamina cost which is really nice when it's over you got a full stamina bar to work with until the next castigator, which with the CDR one it's pretty short
Opportunist is an easy pick for melee with concussive force talent
Beautiful
I'm a fan of Crusher, the stagger on it is really strong without even using the alt melee to power it up. And the wide combo is pretty simple, you just alternate between light and heavy
Crusher also lets you setup some really nasty boss damage combos
The reach on it and wide and by the time most melee enemies get up it's time for another stagger.
The push attack has real good weak spot damage for some reason
This plus the counts as staggered on weakspot talent means you can apply 40% increase damage taken to bosses
and as far as I can tell it's the only arbites weapon that can apply skullcrusher
I was always a crusher, tac axe and combat shotty loyalist so the recent patches feel like personal pandering
I'm a happy bean
tac axe is feasting
Tac axe I was surprised at, I thought it was nice before
it was considered one of the worst for a while
Combat shotgun I'm going to try out once I master arbites guns
tbf I doubt combat shotgun will be particularly inpsiring on Arbites
just because they have access to the Exterminator which is just obscene
but on the other humans I expect they're significantly improved
though I'm a little ehhh on special shotgun shells not getting buffs in place of primary fire because birdshot and slug could use them
(double barrel, on the other hand, breaks on arbites because they have the one thing that always breaks double barrels: the ability to increase the clip size)
Oh wait it was shock maul not crusher that got buffed, crusher was just slept on
okay maybe not in place of primary fire because it had some really horrid breakpoint misses
The 3 round double barrel
but no one but me has cared about shotguns that aren't dragon's breath in millenia
my birdshot build is a sole survivor of the species
If you slap manstopper on it and fire a double barrel in the vague direction of a horde you often kill some elite or specialist and I find that funny
with castigator you can get the mythical double double shot
I don't know what I'm going to kill but it's going to be something
Castigator if you wait 1.5s between shots you could probably get 8 shots out a double barrel
Crucian Roulette revolver keeps winning
You can make the hammer mark of revolver have 6 rounds
It's probably justified by the smoke, but it is funny to me how terrible visibility is in the "on fire" levels. It is neat that a bunch of flamethrower people are going around lighting stuff on fire though
the way the fires just don't light up anything around them, this is Grimdark fire
so my shooter arbites build will be my lone wolf build too i think
mostly for shock mine spamming
No wonder there's candles everywhere they suck at lighting up the place
<@&1042950387478560878> darkining?
It's always darkest before the tide
how're y'all building your arbites
CC mostly
Two-handed maul and a shotgun with some basic grenades and an Aquila
Not the greatest against bosses but it pulls enough weight
i've seen the reginald build that uses the riot shield/shotpistol to kill bosses but just stun-sticking every single enemy seems good also
the zappy zap thing seems really, really good, like a sustained zealot popcorn grenade
The doggiest dog that ever dogged (taking a bunch of left side buffs) is actually a really powerful build in general
as does the aquila
doesn't have quite the same level of utility compared to psyker bubble in havocs just because shooters are actually satan in that gamemode
but the magic circle of safety is still p gud
I tried Terminus Warrant tonight and I rather like it.
They have surprising reach on flinging the mines too, you can huck them into a crowd deep
killer for getting any hack-related objective done if you're pugging
if you're not reliably able to have a buddy stand behind you and whack ragers with a big stick it's night and day
What weapon combos are you using? I leveled with warrant with the arbites maul and arbites shotgun pretty great
Oh Reginald has a build video? Time to check that out
I got the default weapons to the cap but I'm trying to use classic shock maul and the revolver with castigator, but I can't make the fan hammer variant work how I want so I'm sticking to the shotgun until I get to 30.
Yeah for castigator revolver I was running bottom left super marks, I should try it with warrant
I'm doing old shock maul with bolter and it's decently ammo efficient
Once I understood how it worked it feels pretty good to control.
It's different from weapon spec in a way that's kinda nice.
I'd been running copvision for a bit but I swapped my talents around when I realized what I wanted is in the middle branch at the bottom
Not losing the stacks when you switch is pretty nice if you accidentally switch at like 29 and not 30 since you can reswitch
Yeah it's sort of a balancing act where doing one thing makes the other one stronger and spends the stacks you built to give a consistent bonus for the amount of hits you built the stacks for
so you can go all into one having all 30 tokens or juggling them around 15 each
if you lean hard on youur gun for e.g. castigator and burn all your gun stacks then your melee comes out strong to protect you
Arbites having turbo cleave on a ton of stuff also helps
My build idea was wild west sheriff
so a wheelgun and probably one of the axes
but I think the hammer fan revolver mark is just not up to snuff without a revision
Or, a very specific number tuned
terminus warrant looks cool and i'd get to pretend to be bounty hunter salt again but i crave the ult cooldown from copvision keystone
It's really good at killing monstrosities and scab/dreg mooks and decent ammo efficient except these days anything kills mooks good and it's gunners that need precision deletion
Most of what I use braced revolver for these days is run n gun + sustained fire to gap close for melee which is distinctly not gonna castigate
anything it does you can put a bolt pistol in its place and it does a better job. The problem I'm having is that its not precise enough without run & gun, and if I put run & gun on I gotta give up either the armor rending or the crucian roulette, and I need the other two to make it kill things.
walking with your heel on the hammer blooms the spread too much, missing one bullet in six because it spread away from the guy's head at midrange is a lot of lost damage
run & gun tightens it up but then it loses its punch
you gotta like, stop and crouch to get a tight crosshair with it, but it should be the mobile variant
the bolt pistol doesn't have the loosey goosey precision problem while you're moving
I'm trying to walk and fan but it really wants you to stop and fan and if I'm stopping to aim I can run the ADS one
Yeah bolt pistol being a laser on the move is kind of wild
it needs three blessings to really do what I need it to
I like the concept of a guile gun but unfortunately you give up either damage or accuracy required to reliably high noon
somewhere in damnation/auric your breakpoints just evaporate
Auric's not so bad to hit one shot thresholds, Havoc just gloms another 25-50% HP on top which is why I wish Psykhanium let you test it
I'm a long-time run & gun bolt pistolero and I can shoot while running, slide and pop guys around corners or next to me while I am sliding by, its real desperado stuff, but the actual cowboy gun wants you to stop and crouch to get tight shot spread
this may also just be a symptom of how good revolver og flavor is
I think if they baked in run n gun to braced revolver like they did auto pistol that'd be a similar game changer
I have recently found great joy in heavy laspistol Ghost IV though
Bobbing and weaving while soaking gunner fire owns
I fucking adore the relic blade but having it out feels like walking in crocs made of jelly
with the laspistol out on zelly you're flying though
the ammo econ on the og revolver is extremely tight, its a good balance for how strong it can kill crushers
the pen is also nuts
that's the other thing about the braced! Its got no accuracy but it has no pen either
if you want to hold down the trigger, yank down the mouse and mulch everything a corridor, you're probably better-off with the arbites bottomless brunch bolter build
Yeah they buffed braced revolver cleave from 2 to 3 so the 25% cleave node gets it to 3 pox walkers per shot but base revolver has 6.5 and so that's 5 pox walkers off the bat and with 50% cleave bonus you can hit 3 gunners or 2 maulers
I have a feeling they're cagey about letting something with the damage numbers that the revolver has go too fast
they have a version of the bolt pistol that shoots very fast but its limited by its draw and reload times
I wonder if they're worried about it overtaking the bolter as 'low uptime, massive damage' without any of the handling penalties associated with
I think it's one of those things that are tuned to an extinct vision of the game
there's a few of those
infantry lasgun 💔
When braced revolver dropped it was deleting monstrosities in one fan of the hammer so they dropped it a bit along with hand cannon blessing and it never quite was the same
but I really want it to work in a fun stylish way
not that I necessarily miss the kantrael xii monoculture meta
my biggest problem on my favorite build is the ideal weapon I want already exists and I already have it
but I do miss having, uh, usable sights without mods
so I'm like, trying to force a second-best option into shape and it won't fit, there's always one corner sticking out
the call of the jank...
sidebar
I don't think there is a single funnier class to bring into mortis than ogryn
the 50% chance to get an extra grenade boom with the ogryn bfg is, uh, slightly good
accidentally threw a medcrate down instead but nobody minds
i was in a group with an ogry the other day that got so many booms off my game started to chug on its frame rate 😭
being halfway across the arena and watching the killfeed light up once, twice, thrice,
I've been doing some testing and I think the secret sauce is Crucian Roulette and Trickshooter on the braced, you can one shot Reapers on crit with 4k damage and do 2500 damage on weak spot not crit, so you just outsource all your carapace damage to your melee weapon; as long as the last shot was a weak point you keep the trickshooter stacks through reload
<@&1042950387478560878> could someone help me with the karnack twins mission?
i cant find a lobby for it and have to always go in solo...even in the easiest difficulty i couldnt make it
<@&1042950387478560878> looking for 2 for video dark tide game
If y'all are around still in 30 minutes I can be there - coffee's taking a minute
uhhh i think so
yippeee
Looks like y'all assembled a proper crew - y'all have fun!
whenever i see an enemy that still has their nose i think "fake nurgle folllower"
anyways i got the help i needed
Show those twins who's boss
Trip report: Trickshooter blessing is a lie, ain't no way besides a beastie of nurgle I'm lining up 5 weak spot hits a row in a mission, blessing has been swapped with speedloader
I'm reworking a few of my older builds to not be so beholden to Keystones or just one side of the talent tree. So far so good I think .
You building for melee or ranged more?
trying to use weapons other than beloved shock maul and shield and then staring at a framed picture of my shock maul and shield with pain in my heart
A lot of my builds are more rounded out. Like at least one way to deal with mobs, armored, monstrosities, etc. And with some sort of priority of defense
I was sad the Arbite talent that gives damage on reload does not trigger on the free reload from Castigator. Even if it is reasonable lol
It does mean the free reload keeps your crucian roulette stacks which is neat
anyone hve a sense for how good shotguns are for suppression play?
They go great with terrifying barrage blessing
hmm ok, my lone wolf is built to suppress but ive been running the braced auto
and ive been... only partially satisfied by the performance
You running Powderburn + Terrifying barrage?
brace auto doesnt have powderburn does it?
yes! was running ceaseless and terrifying
Could try ceaseless + Speedload, that tends to be enough and that keeps you topped off good
use autopistol with these blessings and the forceful keystone and it works really well
dont have my auto pistol maxed out, looks like im gonna want to
Autopistol running while blasting at a mutant in a game of chicken always owns
what else is good for arby suppressionmaxxing
Bolter explosions count
Can I just say, in the chaos of combat it's very easy to at a glance mistake the Arbites players, clad in their black carapace armor, for scabs clad in their very dark grey carapace armor.
For me it's dogs
I see a dog in pounce position and I get ready to shove but then it's a player's dog
I tried this out and had a really funny interaction with the bloom
That shotgunner got got
I cut two videos that illustrate how big a difference the Run & Gun spread effect has on just strafing and shooting kinda slowly
this one's crucian/trickshooter
this one's crucian/run&gun
Yeah the math works out that a 30% spread reduction is literally twice as accurate due to 49% the aim area
It really doesn't like you moving or shooting too quickly, which feels like two things that fanning the hammer should be fore
the bloom is, I think, the major dial to turn to get it tuned up
and just for comedy, I did cut a video of the shotgunner getting got
my keeping protocol buff has stopped showing up in the buff bar entirely even though i certainly have it selected. dunno what's up with that. dunno if it's just a visual bug either
There's a cap on how many buff icons can show up at once and so the buffs are still active but the icons won't show up til the other buffs drop off, this happens on Terminus Warrant where 1 type of ranged/melee won't show while the other will
this is also happening when im on a low number of buffs so i don't think it's that
it does show up in my list of things when i hold tab tho
Weird, I'll have to test it on mine later
had no mods active when this starte dhappening either
Yippee
It kind of does a million billion damage
I shot it down a hall of pox hounds and got like 8 kills at once
the mark with the choke and the rending special shells is really strong against crushers
Yeah it's like 1500 damage no brittleness 2500 damage brittleness shell on a crusher
The single target mark is a fucking AMR not a shotgun lol
The new agripinaa slug shotgun
and the first mark is great for mixed hordes
struggles more on crushers, but Arbites melee tends to do well into those so not a huge deal imo
A use I found that makes castigator stance with CDR talent really good is to just use it the moment you see a burst, has like 0 activation cost and doesn't interrupt animations like shove and if your team explodes it before you shove you hardly take any corruption
Also for tanking sniper shots, sometimes you get caught in situations you can hardly move and there's no cover and sniper is in a stupid spot to fire back
The executioner shotgun is so good it basically nullifies any good feelings I have about the combat shotgun buff
Because it basically steals their niche and makes it awesome
Second mark I use for special deletion on my doggo build
first is just like
Activating castigator stance and spamming into a horde
I tend to have Second Mark Executioner and First Mark Mace-And-Board
Dunno how optimal this is but its fun
Did a circuit break
I stream almost every day on youtube! Check me out live, and play with the big E!
Wow that is a boss killer arbites build
What a monster
Also I read under input settings you can change dog to single ping?
i understand Arbites and the guard would have different codes
but it bothers me how similar they are
arbites and commissars come from the same school
Who do you think bullies who
The thing about the guard is they are generally not as well trained or equipped as the arbites, and their expected engagements are very different
The Arbites probably bully the Commissars in hallways and on the fields but the future Commissars get back at them by making them look dumb in the Imperial Faith and Philosophy classes

Probably a rivalry.
Arbites probably say they keep tithes steady so the commissar has guards to shout at.
Commissar probably says they stop xenos invasion so arbites can preach law
Sisters of Battle also come from the same program
As do Storm Troopers (I refuse to use the dumb copyright name. Fight me.)
Pretty much everyone that gets an education of some sort goes to Schola Progenium
On that note, you know what armor I would totally eat the stupid 2900 aquila cost for, for Vet?
The classic 3e style
Sisters, inquisitors, arbites, some rogue traders, imperial navy officers, sanctioned psykers all go to the Schola, where they put disobedient children in the walls
Sanctioned Psykers go to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica
Or rather they go there to get sanctioned
And then they're distributed wherever
I don't think they ever touch the Schola Progenium
Ah you're right, only psyker's assigned to inquisitors and well the very rare psykers who become inquisitors go there
I did like how in DH if you took a few of the Ascension perks, you got assigned to a Progenium class
Which meant your character is being taught with, and treated exactly the same as, a bunch of teenagers
a large amount end up in the Ministorum as well
A teenager in schola seems impressive, iirc they get picked up often as orphan children with potential and most die before they even reach their teens
You're probably safer being on that hive world
the majority are just orphans from whatever the latest fuckup is
presumably dark heresy ascension folk are assigned to a specific selection class
which is generally teenagers
They're specifically the orphaned children of Imperial servants
So your average everyday orphan doesn't have access
If your parents were Guard or Navy officers that died in the line of duty, then you can get sent to a Scholam
Or if they were high-ranking adepts that died for whatever reason
Do we have tempestus scions clothing for veteran?
Yeah but I think you have to do havoc too get it?
Sadly I have nobody to do Havoc with.
I just do pick up groups all the time. Regularly clear havoc 40 with them. Just did today, in fact
Yeah through the power of pickup squads it's possible to Havoc it up though there's a huge leap from 20 to 21
...y'know what I wanna do
Scier's Gaze + Murderous Tranquility + Horde to kill is pretty fun
I wanna make a fashion centered around the tri-lens arbiter cosmetic and name the character "Difficulty_Tweak"
Where's his famed one-tap dropkick you ask? He outsourced it to his dog.
I've just picked up havocs and I'm definitely feeling the 21 barrier. The increase in HP is often too much for my party it feels and we get overwhelmed. Need to also learn to pay better attention to how pubbies move around the map. Too used to 4 stacks in voice and it's hurting me lol
Yeah the increase in monstrosities compared to Aurics is a big deal particularly on the rituals boards
(there's also an element of having issues with the pubs playing bad, but there is exactly one variable in my Havocs I can control so that's what I'm trying to focus on)
Lights out missions tend to be tough too because can't see daemonhosts/barrels
I find the smoothest are the ones that give out buffs to enemies
Hexbound Daemonhosts is just brutal
meanwhile the healing dudes are way easier to handle
pus-hardened skin is also nasty, but Arbites honestly helps a ton there because the worst part of that mod (specialists and elites sitting at long range highly resistant to range weapons) is neatly solved by dog
Snipers in particular, though if you have True Grit they're 50% less scary
bombers as well as gunners on that list
Love that talent, it's endlessly gratifying to give poxbursters, snipers, and stealth maulers/crushers the middle finger
"Fuck you, no, you don't get to oneshot me this time you annoying piece of shit"
...real talk, why the fuck are silent crushers STILL an issue at this point
engine limitations I expect
in a proper brawl you're using so many audio channels things get cut
The audio channels ought to prioritize certain enemies over others tbh
it does
it's why silent trappers aren't as common lol
and why you still always get the backstab woosh
That aside
The dog is genuinely insanely good
And Lone Wolf doesn't offer up nearly enough to compensate for not having it
Nah, regening shock mines is nuts imo
Decent stat boosts and regenerating frags/mines
OR
Lock down anything giving you trouble and gain a shitton of really good perks
True, but you can always just go for the electric kaboom
It's maybe not as great at locking down hordes but it certainly pulls weight
And it regenerates anyway
...I... think?
Oh, the dog bomb is great but's it unreliable as hell
I swear I remember it regenerating
Okay good I'm not going crazy
3 charges
Yeah it does require you position your dog properly
Which is hard if it's fucked off to pounce on some random poxwalker but you can always just tag one of the inevitable special/elite spawns mixed into the horde tbf
Rn I'm running mines just because on the build I'm running I decided to specialize into Never Dying
Just a brick of a character that bullies everything smaller than a monstrosity in melee and capable of solo holding chokes against a mixed horde
(Forceful keystone is nuts yo)
Dog EMP is one time
Mines go for 15s
Dog cant cover you if youre doing a revive/puzzle but mines can
And enemies county as being staggered while it's triggered meaning things that key off that (toughness regen talent, Forceful stacks) trigger
I've out healed a gunner in damnation off a shock mine that grabbed like 4 dudes while picking someone up.
Yea understandably when it comes to cc, the regenerating dog EMP is much less than grenade pickup/regen needing mines.
Its more like zealot stun nades but hardly anyone uses those but it's basically like smite except you can do other things while it stuns
when they rework the zealot tree you'll see more stuns
there's a lot of awful talents you have to pick to get there
yeah, most Zealots these days run fire or knives
Zealot desperately needs a tree rework
Aye
Psyker could use a small touch-up as well in some areas
Charged Strike is just
So abjectly dogshit
Vet needs Ex stance, stealth, smoke nades, and the marksman keystone all looked at
The damage on it is way to low
the actual nodes in the tree are generally fine (if too many), but they have massive dead spaces due to multiple dead abilities
Its like less than a single bleed stack tick of damage
Yeah
Smoke nades could stand to get a buff and I say that as a smoke nade lover
They're really fucking good in the right situations but anywhere else they're kinda just
Useless
the really annoying thing is that old Ex stance worked so well because you always took the fucking 75% damage reduction with it
which was a lot!
Aye
One change they need for that is like, anyone who kills highlighted enemies gives you benefits
has fucking Castigator which has more damage buffs, is universal, and is fucking 80% damage reduction along with the same goddamn toughness regen talent
The highlighting is counter to the ability cause a teammate kllling them instead of you is detrimental
I firmly believe it ex stance got it's 75% dr back it would still be vets second best skill
only it would be way closer and entirely reasonable to run if you have like a Chant Zealot or something
Vet's weird because you can get huge toughness DR with the coherency bonus, the weak spot 3x bonus, the 50% over 75% toughness thing, and a couple nuggets here and there, but it's all fragile because the only huge toughness regen spike they have is either all on kill (not so good vs monstrosity) or 1 use shout/invis
I think Terminus Warrant ranged cleave bonus is bugged because it sure isn't boosting ranged cleave with any guns I've been testing (shotguns, braced revolver, infantry/braced autoguns)
this is a funny name
Who'd want to get married during a mission?

did my first maelstrom today chatroom
it's fun and exciting when there's 20 mutants
You ever accidentally fire a burst into a daemonhost somebody tagged l because you thought they tagged someone to take out?
20 hounds, 20 trappers, 20 snipers
They give the demonhost a diff colored ping to try and prevent that yeah
i once stabbed a daemon host in the face cause i was using the knife charge attack to run around
on that note, i am glad that dogs just refuse to aggro daemonhosts even when you ping them
It's impolite to type all of the mutant noises into text chat so imagine 20 lines of "RARARARR" for eternity
Wow they must have put the Cadian Veteran on the vox for the day
this is how i talk to the cadian veteran tho (troubles is whining about cadia)
got the cool dog skin
good dog name
The barktider of mine is called 84RK
Also a good name
I named mine Leman
If anybody in a position of authority asks, he's named after the tank
Also it seems the arbites like the Ogryns and thats cute
Yeah they address the Ogryn as "Behemoth" which is pretty metal
Playing some lone wolf, the grenades are really nice. The knock back radius on them is like a shredder's and it deals real good damage on impact.
I think I'm leaning towards dougless
No executioner order stings but forceful isn't that far off, break the line has such low CD I don't need the others. I'll miss the instant insane DR button for bursters
what do arbites call vets and zealots? haven't heard any nicknames for them yet
I think either the update made rejects less chatty cause cops are around or something cause I havent heard many PC to PC interactions besides arbites to arbites
Also probably cause lobbies are majority arbites
"Conscript" and "Firebrand"
"Conscript" is conceptually funny to me because arbites are also all conscripts
Just earlier, and with extra brainwashing
Just broke through to Havoc 22 today
unkillable Arbites build did work by being unkillable
Heretics cant win if you just dont lose
Sometimes the best thing you can do is just smack around some heretics while the rest of the squad deals with the captain, plague ogryn, and BoN that just spawned
Unless you're playing the arbites build that kills monsters within 1 bolter mag
Just no weakness
so they did their job and I did mine
Also, it was the first time I really felt like I was getting consistent utility out of the dog
It's everyone's job to Lex or something
enough specialists and elites were spawning that I needed the ability to just ping a sniper or bomber and trust it was dead
The dog is great at chasing specialists
also for shutting down gunners
Grenades are nice at clearing hordes but dog has nice utility of its the game equivalent of extra action economy. It's a close tie between dog and no dog, which seems like nice balancing that are good
i do think the more stuff you have that doesn't need ammo/grenade pickips, the more value it ends up having sometimes
did you find out if you can toggle to single spot for the dog?
Yes you can
Menu settings under input and there's an option for single tap
Huge QoL setting for spamming dog
There is a slight drawback to setting the "Press Once" companion tag option and it's that if you're running no dog talent Lone Wolf you can't ping enemies
I don't know if changes anything but I set single tap to none so I don't think others will see my single tap
I set double tap to be my ping
Oh that must be the secret sauce, my double tap is the "go there"
Huh I guess I cant ping enemies, I can mark threats with the eye and location marker, close enough
Does anyone else find the post-mission cutscenes to somehow have worse performance than the regular gameplay?
It's surprisingly loady yeah
Blessed community for those who mod https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/539
tldr adds both tag filtering and auto tag an unfiltered target when you hold down tag
Ye it works for all classes
There was another one but it auto pinged everything with no filter so it pinged every elite including shotgunners which was annoying before arbites
This is really nice for specialists
Triple shot double barrel shotty on Arbitrator has been incredible fun on Auric
Castigator getting 8 shots out of the double barrel
For animations, does it remove the first shell on the first shot and the second shell sticks around until you use all three shells?

i want to try a castigator bolter build
absolutely unstoppable firepower for the 15 seconds it can actually fire
It's a boss deleter
I stream almost every day on youtube! Check me out live, and play with the big E!
do i need to still use the executable to make mods work on darktide?
or do i judt need to use the mod framework?
Not sure what exe but you do need the mod framework
Run a bat file once per patch and everytime you run darktide it'll have your mods
the bat file is what i was referring to
thank you
ive had the same one for forever
has it ever changed?
I don't think so, it's an old reliable
I think the framework broke a bit and had to be updated around patch 1.7.3 but if you downloaded recently you should be fine
Current at least works for me
I found the perfect name for this the puncture remote detonation build.
Finally my legally distinct OC, Commissioner Yorik
hmm whats an inquisitor-ly veteran set up? I figure weapon spec, bolt pistol, power sword?
or maybe shout
/j
(Been running puncture dog explosion button since like. day one tho)
Space madness does shit to your brain
<@&1042950387478560878> Does anyone want to do a few missions?
First name Harvey?
I'm game
Hweurgh
Can't VC cause my roommate's asleep but I'm hopping on now
I arrive within the Mourningstar
7320499504 is my friend code
Yeah sure I can do some missions

Is that Loose Cannon
Also auric mortis is wild, you get thrown like 5 bosses at once. I lost cause I was doing a funny build and didn't expect it to be harder than auric
Cause like damnation mortis imo is easier than damnation with the buffs
New hotfix out, 1.8.2:
https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/hotfix-70-1-8-2/110096
Turns out bottom left tree damage to monstrosities node was applying to everything, oops!
Hey Everyone, Hotfix #70 (1.8.2) is currently rolling out across our platforms. In the meantime, you can read the notes below. General Fixes Fixed banter frequency: banter has been increased for all classes during missions. Solved a common crash that could occur when browsing companion skins. Fixed an issue that was causing the server to cras...
...the 30% extra damage / DR node? no fucking wonder i was tearing it up so hard
Good news, they missed another major bug on the tree
Nucio Aquilla's support node that gives 30% DR is bugged and gives 70% instead
lmfao
(even when they batch it tho it'll still be a great node, just not "face tank sniper shots and don't even break toughness" great)

Some Arbite dialogue
The Maul calling imagination a crime is genuinely really funny
Maul definitely feels like he knows exactly how ridiculous he is and just embraces it because it's funny
what does the special shot on the arbitrator shotgun with the choke do btw? it doesn't seem to electrocute, is it just chunkier damage?
I think it adds brittleness. Iirc it says what it does in the inspect menu
ooh, right you are
I wish Darktide had a summary of how each Mark is different when on the marks page. Or at the very least let's you inspect them (though that wouldn't let you know the main difference between the two arbities shotguns I don't think)
yeah definitely. thinking of what perks/blessings would be useful on that weapon. the extremeely tight spread makes me think ranged weakspot damage and, idk, carapace damage?
I like to imagine the "get bonus damage if all the pellets hit the same person", but that probably doesn't work when I'm using it as a mid-ranged weapon
Yea its pretty bad with combat shotgun
Cause one is a slug and the other has wide spread and that's a big difference that isnt mentioned
If youre using it against crushers/bosses its real easy to still hit all pellets on the same enemy at range
True
I feel the alt-fire is really good for making crushers stop crushing (at least on Damnation where there aren't too many of them)
I never thought id see the day when cc'd is the thing to do in darktide but arbites's stagger is strong and you often have multiple sources of it. Crusher packs are like, you dont get to play the game get staggered
Yeah the Mk 8 brittleness shot does like 1500 damage to a crusher in the face and then the follow up is like 2500 more damage from the 30% brittleness
Its very good for crushers and very tight spread
A favorite of mines is crusher with crusher. Slaughterer and Skullcrusher is amazing on arbites
is Skullcrusher / Opportunist the way to go on Crusher (the weapon)?
Id say Slaughterer, it is just broke, 40% strength is massive
I would do Skullcrusher and Slaughterer
Skullcrusher to buff up the party on bosses and Slaughterer for hordes
Strength also affects stagger too, so you can chain stagger crushers
I like Thrust/Opportunist
It makes sense that Arbites have good stagger at least
sigh darktide can you stop breaking our audio for 5 minutes?
Can’t even get past the loading screen
Aw that's so wholesome
https://youtube.com/shorts/7kzwUwfZ0qs?si=guDYGCwRZ-L6Eq74
Glad to see arbites also treat Ogyrns nice
Nobody can bring themselves to treating the ogryns poorly
The 1.8.2 hotfix yesterday somehow accidentally turned all the gibbing to max and humble lasguns and shock mauls are now bisecting ogryns and mutants
Darktide needs a cow mangler tf2 like Randall for some of the power weapons ngl
Give me a power washer, i'll clean the heretics 🧼
Maybe thats why we're going after the water cartel, for our power washers
exfoliate the heretic
Bathe for the Emperor! Scrub for the golden throne!
I do find it funny that the torrent can be so on fire. The place with the water everywhere
Its oilwater
Dont ever trust rain in the underhive, its not water that's falling from above
... probably true yeah
Disco Aquila is a mod for Darktide that changes the Arbites' Nuncia Aquila to have disco lights and music
There are so many of these
Disco Aquila changes the Arbitrator's Nuncia Aquila to include lights and music
And yes this is an actual mod
Disco Aquila is a mod for Darktide that changes the Arbites' Nuncia Aquila to have disco lights and music
The Ragers look like they are trying to avoid the urge to dance
I love how fast they made a disco quila mod
These are the sick beats of Malcador
Is this Lex approved
I am the lex or something
Huh, why do the arbites talk about Malcador?
Didn't he create the Lex?
I thought he might have wrote the Lex or something but at least Lexicanum didn't mention such a detail
Lexicanum, the better 40k wiki
It's annoying it is always after the fandom one in Google searches lol
Random but I like how Malcador looks like the most shady im going to backstab you advisor trope but he's legit emp's best friend
Man was ride and die
he founded the administratum, which is the department that is ultimately responsible for the lex
so he's sort of their founding father by default
It has straight up fan theories written as entries, fandom didnt have high standards but 40k's fandom is extra bad about it for some reason
i love bolter arbites
I was thinking about puncture bolter for havoc and auric mortis for boss slaying
Puncture on bolter let's me still have bleed dog even if I miss out on the radius
Is the person behind sacrificed in the mission where you interrupt a ritual and find out the called is called admonition Wolfer? Or is it some random and presumably something bad will be happening in Wolfer for failing?
It's the corpse of Rhodin Karnak
pathetic. They didn't make that
Heresy is one thing, but kill stealing?!
Puncture stacks go to 16 so yeah it's good for mag dumping every few seconds
Wow Arbites is strong.
The Executioner Shotguns pretty much render the other shotguns superfluous
dont really agree now they've been buffed significantly
It is shotgun but better. It does more damage, has better range, and abrites has talents that heavily support it.
and far less ammo with situational special shells
The combat shotguns rule now with turbo cleave and huger ammo
Which one is the executioner
she means the Exterminator

i see
