#dark tidings (Darktide for people in the searchbar)

I don't think they stagger easily with a shield up and you want damage to get through it and after that they stagger alright
nah it's not strong enough to stagger them
even without shields
it's good for chipp damage and handling one of the twins tho
cause you chip at their shields while the team focus on the other one
and hit other small enemies at the same time
this is darktide?
oh
maybe i should take an ironhelm
and get the best of both worlds
beeg bonk
and good crowd control

oh noe
tasty tasty toxic fumes

Brass will ring,

Ragers yell

A wonderful time

This is dope
Also I can do a run or two
remarkable zealot fit
The Gimp Getup
Anyone got tips on using trauma staff? I'm giving it another shot and this thing blows
I know that the staff itself is fine, the problem lies in it's use.
@cyan depot is a big trauma staff enjoyer
I'm seeing potential for CC and crowd separation, but I'm struggling to find a reason to use Trauma over Voidstrike
Similar CC potential (Though trauma definitely wins CC) but the killing power is fucking abysmal
And the killing power of the voidstrike more than keeps up with trauma's superior CC
objectively there probably is none because surge is straight broken
but it is very fun watching people melt crushers with pool noodles thanks to brittleness
So the big strength of the trauma staff is rending shockwave
40% brittleness is stupid on most enemies
vet gets like half that much from onslaught and that perk is still fucking stupid
So the trade off is worse dps for a huge team wide damage amp on hard targets
So, only use it when I KNOW that I'm playing with competent players E.G: In a squad
I'm pulling maybe a quarter of my usual damage.
Works pretty well with randoms ime
leaderboard doesn't show damage amp
You can math out a VERY generous estimate
harder to quantify relative to bolter/plas just straight murking hard targets
or watching power sword shit on a crusher
or void strike two tapping through bulwark shield
Like, I GET IT. I understand WHY you'd want that 40% brittle. I'm just struggling to put that much faith in my teammates to do important shit quickly because this build doesn't let me
Do you have regular friends you play with Glass Shark? Do you quickplay mostly?
ok so, for those of you grinding the hard mode
you can do the hard mode on uprising and it unlocks the teleport for all difficulties
save some time and enery
Trauma Staff suffers a lot because it's a great debuffer and CC staff competing against "what if we just kill it dead now" weapons
If it did full damage in the whole AoE instead of the center it'd be a good Purgatus alternative
Still great vs scab/dreg packs and poxwalkerpocalypses
Why did I just now get the Part 2 is live pop up lol
If only one, I like the latter, but I run both
god
just tried damnation hard mode
first minute we all got downed (randos, not a team)
I was popping fields pretty well but the team was having a hard time getting them down at the same time
I'm not like, totally used to damnation still but even then we went down quick
@gentle flame re:Trauma versus Voidstrike
I typcially only run Trauma when I've got Assail. It is good for breaking up Rager/Mauler/Crusher packs, softening up anything with more armor than a poxwalker, and bullying Bulwarks.
It is not good at actually killing things: I utilize Assail and my melee for actually finishing people off, but also accept I don't deal much direct damage and need to stick close to allies.
What's a good psyker set up for the special mission on damnation?
I managed malice just fine, but in damnation I lost - although I'm not sure it was my fault, as such.
Surge/Smite should still work, ish?
Shield is good
From what Cyan was doing with it
If no one on your team can stun/kill hordes of ragers it might be on you to smite them down yeah
Right, I've been playing with vent for blow up prevention and longer smite, but shield, noted.
With the stun for elites, I assume, as there's not that much shooting otherwise?
I found Purgatus+Assail+Dome to be incredibly helpful, if you're running with a team. You become the designated add clear, and popping your dome over Linda lets your team ignore Ron until she's dead.
(I run Empowered Psionics and +CDR Aura)
depends on what you find your group dropping to, tbh
three zealots one vet
I ran chorus and basically just made sure the DPS phase was clean by chanting a) every time we got shield pops and b) every fan segment since the bonus toughness eats the gas for breakfast
the other two zealots were chastise with chain weapons and they ANNIHILATED the shields
we rushed the ranged guy first so we could get rid of the diapers
I think that stubbergryn with Light Em Up is pretty great at eating shields too
but chorus is a great call
imo you definitely need the DPS first just to pop shields before a chorus but when you do have it
oh baby
chorus just makes it mirror-smooth
we also had our vet on voc to buy us extra breathing room
I've also seen good arguments for shieldgryn just because he can faceroll the melee elite packs that spawn
and that has the same effect re: making the process of shields down + DPS very easy
I think vet VOC + Field Improv with a stubbergryn can do that too because you can take frag bomb and keep refilling from the ammo crate
and then the waves just vanish
the eraser bomb was hilarious
but then you're out of flex picks and you need full DPS + Chorus in the other two slots
was it on Damnation?
yes

I think bubble psyker is pretty nice but smite just sort of wins by default as far as blitzes
not having access to chain weps is pretty brutal
oh word
I'll say that chaxes are absolutely fucking goated
somehow
crit thrust old chaxe heavy can oneshot the shield
other things to keep in mind
shield is flak
most of the twin hurtbox is, shockingly, unarmoured
head is carapace and they have some bulwark/reaper style flak limbs
but a lot is just straight unarmored
<@&1042950387478560878> hardmode gaming?
Let me get the last of the GMS weapons into the spreadsheet
we're going to stomp Uprising Hardmode first to unlock the boss TP
yeah
kay
i remember the chainsword special being able to stun one of the twins
i sort of stun locked his ass for a bit
Yea it helps chew through the shield
i chewed through the shield then chewed through him
What's considered the best weapons for a Vet, broadly speaking?
depends on the build or role u want
i'll give you examples for builds i run
on my stealthy vet i run a columnus MK 5 which is really really good right now
in my voice of command since i do more of a elite killer and etc i go plasma gun
(voice of command is also the support option as u know
)
as far as i know u can also go revolver for that kind of role(the old one)
in my focus fire build i like to run either the Agripana shotgun or the kantrael MG XIII lasgun
it's hard to say what is best cause in my experience i have found that there are a LOT of viable guns in game
There are just a lot of viable builds in general with the game.
My favorite Vet build is my Kantreal sharpshooter that just deletes anything ranged.
Just zap zap zap
i too enjoy a good pew pew
i feel like it's easier to think about what kind of build you like first
Yeah there's no "best" weapon in this game
It all depends on what niche you wanna fill
What's helps narrow it down is centering on a particular weapon you like to use and playing to it's strengths. Or enhancing a favorite play style.
My stealth Vet zooms in a fight and my gun Psyker is also a dodge freak.
If you want broad, and I mean really broad, as in "this can do anything and everything and I am the best at nothing but I can do anything"
Shovel.
Vet Shovel will dig through a pile of shit and you won't wind up smelling like roses but the shit is dug.
The old one is more of an all-rounder that can particularly deal with hordes. The new one is an all-rounder that can particularly deal with carapace.
20% concentrated shovel
I currently use a short sword for my Plasma build, but dang it if I keep forgetting the shovel. Especially the new sapper style.
Why do you think their helmets also come with face rags?

If the shovel doesn't kill the heretics, the dysentery will.
granted that probably doesn't do much to nurgle people
Highlight from a clear of the new special assignment on Damnation with the secret hard mode active.
A very fun fight we managed to pull off on our 3rd attempt, having a Beacon of Purity/Relic Zealot helps a lot for this fight as the main danger is the massive amount of corruption you can get on you and relic will allow you to cross to safe zones...
Someone doing hard mode, thought it might be interesting for folk to watch
Even Nurgle cultists have their limits.
what's their party comp? i can't watch it right now
i mean...depends on how devoted they are
Two ogryn, psyker and a zealot
what's the zealot rocking
is the raaks Mk VII Headhunter autogun good?
Zealot has a one handed assassin axe and the prayer
Interesting that they pretty much said that their job was running around triggering the mines that got thrown everywhere because it helped clear the area, while smacking people with the axe to help take down the shield
yeah, a few successful teams I've seen were working on the mines
that's... something I didn't think about
the things that have really been wiping us are the elite spawns
smite psyker or a good plasma vet might be necessary
The assassin axe is pretty good against carapace too
Not sure what the Ogryn were running, I think one of them was a melee ogryn
Might both be. One of them appears to be running a new shovel and the other a big stick.
The ax can be surprisingly effective. For most guys it's often a one or two hit kill.
My brain burst Psyker uses one.
They also pointed out that Beacon of Purity, which helps work down corruption, is very good on zealot as it helps keep corruption down on folk
if you want my subjective answer, I'd probably say the MG 1a lasgun and the original chainsword.
but there are so many variables that thats not always true
only reason i don't put in power sword is a lot of its value hinges on power cycler
its otherwise probably the bread and butter melee
shovel
@white portal how important is it that i pick the correct model for said axe
i'll try getting one made for next time we try that
Devil claw feels good
Cleave forever, cleave every problem in twain
And how threshette has put it "pting"
How long is the special mission up for?
idk
but i need someone to suggest me an axe!
you're ax-ing a hard question
Fun fact, you can pting deamonhosts
This fucking changes everything
I like the Antax mk V
But if you want more mobility the Atrox VII is solid
Good cleave on the first option for horde clear good crit on the second for dueling
The Rashad Mk II felt incredible for a little while on zealot but I'd rather just have an Evi

yes
I imagine Leika was referring to an Atrox variant, could be the 7 or the 2
what does finesse do
Headshot damage
Ho Ho Kay! Alright... maybe I will try out the Headhunter...
I'm not entirely sure I was just indicating what was in the video. The zealot is the class you get the perspective from so could see it from that. Unfortunately they didn't show their builds.
sad
good thing Clay gave me the info regarding axes
These are lit
fancy ogryn calls to me
<@&1042950387478560878> darktide gaming
I must pretend to work and then later run Lancer but I'll be around at <t:1702613453:f> this evening likely to show those twins what for
PIRATE TIME 🦜
it's a real bear though
we will have to fucking grind at it though
cause my team isn't actually all that good
we have 2 people very comfortable at the damnation threat level, confident in auric, and we have 2 where damnation normal is likely the right place for them
if not heresy
Mm, damn I really hope I get it cleared in time. My group is kinda burnt out
it's definitely doable but it requires good luck, great execution, and definitely a top tier team
can't bring the shotguns
alas
Oh is there maybe a potential holiday sale on aquilla?
I want drip, but I don't want to pay drip prices. I infact refuse to
one more for hardmode?
Soon may the Wellerman come, to bring us ordos and stimms and rum
Wait is the new event limited time?
I believe so
This is a good one.
<@&1042950387478560878> we have 3/4 for Hardmode boss runs, could really use a 4th
I am available later but not atm
got myself a nice sword after a few rolls. I think this one is a pretty good to cleave some heretics real dead. What is the better weapon to pair with this thing ? Revolver or kantael shotty ?
Kantrael shotty or any shotty, really
Or whatever fills any niche not already covered by a teammate.
Braced auto can work if you're bold
And you wanna take heads
Bolter if you're scared of crusher packs
Or any armor really
agripinaa shotty has some light blasting ability and sidelines into being able to snipe as well
which is great versatility for teh zealot
its slug shot can headshot most specials
and will knockdown the bigger bois if you headshot
@mint yew get back in here
@mint yew return
they put words on the gun
The words are, I'm learning, from a Scottish clan crest
Fanatic hails from the Burnett clan
That motto also reflects the Martyrdom playstyle. It's either a coincidence or someone really did some digging on this weapon skin.
Aye Mak Sicur
this makes me sad
Nothing to be sad about, penetration, finesse, and crit bonus are the most important
Headtaker and Shred are generically good, same with Decimator
Brutal Momentum is always a win
Got decimator and all or nothing
Honestly not bad for an extended boss fight
Means blocking with it will deplete your stamina and you'll do more damage when swinging it afterwards
you do a lot of block/push with the axe because it has ass crowd control
And if you're not tanking decimator means you can gather power by just swinging at the shield
bonus stamina is good on axe for the constant block push too
or stamina regen talents
Brunt's handing out the foam stress axes again.
2% lmao
<@&1042950387478560878> Does anyone have time for a run or two? I hear there is a cool new boss fight

the bomb triggering confuses me
in a moment I'm okay the other oh boi i died cause corruption took my whole life
yeah you need to basically run into the red circle then immediately duck out. Skirt around the edges, just activating them by proximety then dipping out
I think in the future Faster characters like zealots should go after the ranged twin while shield ogryn should tank the melee lady, because what winds up trying to tank the ranged guy or both is that a shield Ogryn gets cornered and coated in grenades and that can really fill them with corruption
me an the crew finally gottem
Ripper and Tear, until it is done
Oh wait the end mission poses aren't representative of the actual weapons right
the insignia of victory
still haven't gotten past the 50% mark
I appreciate the genuinely hard as nails holiday event
The twins attack more and a bit harder, they make you change sides more and faster I swear, and they spawn carapace enemies in hordes
Knife+flamer zealot has felt very good for me in it but I suspect braced autogun is better
also shooters
Really need to get them
went back to clear regular damnation for someone after a few attempts and we rolled it without even really having to think much
Hard Mode is genuinely insane
actual raid boss tier
Basically hard mode has more and more varied elite waves, the twins have more health and their sympathetic shields recharge way faster, and they have their enhanced movesets they get when one twin dies automatically
Damnation is always super chill right up until suddenly it's not haha
the elites are the real killers, although Rodin and his triple tap plasma pistol doesn't help
invariably you lose when the swarms of elites just bog someone down
That’s why I started bringing the flamer
Surprisingly good emergency rager removal
so if one person dies you might as well tap out
my one hard mode clear one player did go down beforehand
but we killed rodin pretty shortly thereafter and curbstomped rinda since the fart bombs stop
there's 2 lose cases
- you get bogged down in adds and drown
- someone accidentally steps in a pile of goop mines and dies instantly
the twins start enraged and get more mobs
it really helps to have someone zippy on mine clearance duty
where they take deliberate time to just run through the mines that are all over the place and give you room to fightt
it's an ideal knifelot role
trading between zipping around clearing the area, clearing the elites, and dpsing on some dopes
But no like “damnation+” HP stuff?
they do also get more Hp
For anyone but the twins at least
the adds are I think the same hp
Cool
but the twins get a bump of like 25k
also genuinely on zealot I never had a chance to use my ranged weapon anywway
so bring whatever makes you the most comfortable
I think plas vet makes some amount of sense
but maybe that just compensates for a lack of elite killiness on zelly
plas vet makes sense but honestly, run weapon specialist
because you will not have time to conventionally reload
I still struggle on damnation runs sometimes, though that's usually with randos
I'm curious how psyker fares on hard mode
tbh, not well
They bring some pretty nice tools in general but their twins damage is just such ass
scriers gaze gunker is good damage
on the bosses
but basically all the staves are constantly overwhelmed
Yeah I had pretty good luck with that and an infantry autogun
the problem is you're constantly dealing with 360 of threat
and havinng to haul ass or be forcibly ejected
so staves just don't have time to roll
yeah psyker seems not great
smite is surprisingly limited utility
youd think cc would help but generally what you actually need is just more dps
Yeah
I've seen Assail do pretty good work but all the unique psyker options have shitty dodges and good dodges feel nearly mandatory in the cauldron
force swords have the same dodges as the knives do, no?
Not quite as long but they are good
The Ilsi is good in the cauldron ime
But its not enough to bring a psyker on its own imo
I mostly mean the staves and the blitz options all have pretty awful ones
dueling swords do have knife dodges
And might be a good option I just don't usually use them
gunker tree gives you pretty good dodges
Deflector 4+warp shield talent does let you tank the twins nearly indefinitely (not tested on hard mode so the rage attacks may fuck with that)
but yeah, I think taunt ogryn is probably the key player
because the bosses can be taunted, even through their shield
and if the bosses are taunted, everyone else has some time to Do Something
You can probably still deflect tank the bosses unless Rodin fires his triple tap at you multiple times, they aren't that much scarier besides the endless rain of mines
the issue is more when they suddenly swap targets and slap you into a pack of ragers shieldless
but most of my losses so far have been to shooter packs and random markers and ragers in the horde
once to crushers
taunt ogryn/charge ogryn/knife-chorus zealot/plasma-weaponspec-shout vet
is how we did it
That peg leg though.
I've seen one person do a run with a psyker and they had the elec zappy to help deal with the increaxe of carapace enemies and such. More control than anything.
But you can do it
I've had psykers for multiple successful damnation runs and smite and bubble have been pretty clutch but I'm curious if that still works in hard mode
I guess its easy enough to try
I also ran wall by mistake once and it was good for checking rager and maulers
But I think the toughness regen+toughness damage reduction of bubble is better for it
Definitely good to have a dedicated wave killer, because most people I see going down are because of surprise ragers rather than anything else
I hate it when you run to a white vent and ragers/maulers run out of the door behind you
yeag
anyone wanna try that silly mode
kay
Fuck i want to be silly
The gamers a playing lethal company
But there are heretics to obliterate
new hammer
But what if you just kept them both for 375% cleave
dude got stuck outside of the map
also like...besides a perk should i change any of the blessings here?
Sprint Efficiency to Unyielding would be the play and the blessings kind of already rule
i have a lvl 3 one
wha!?
i was wondering "what the hell is this idiot doing on the upper floor still"
turns out Chaos Spawn got him stuck there
happens to the best of us really

Fatshark added a fun boss fight that you can make a tad bit harder if you're in the mood. W...
seems like taunt is the key
or one of them
just keeping them focused on a person so that the others can dps and/or clear ads
I'm still trying to put together a good build using Smite, but it's a lot like Scrying. It's kind of hard to think about what I can use it for.
For the twins or in general?
So in terms of function smite is basically an infinite use stun bomb which locks you into the animation too
^
It staggers anything but monsters given a few seconds
And… eventually kills things while making allies do 10% more damage
so the basic idea is that you set up your teammates to instantly melt through hordes of annoying man-sized specials
while they can't fight back at all
It also stops run ending enemies like rager packs, poxbursters, and… kinda anything in their tracks
Okay. Because on it's own Smite doesn't seem to do much damage.
poxbursters are so funny because they will keep making them 'im boutta bust' beep but then just fall down as long as you channel
yeah smite on its own does dick all damage
With Empowered Psi or a good stack of warp charges it also is a relatively decent horde clear option but you don’t bring it for damage
You bring it cause it can stunlock 30+ enemies
yh
Hmmm. Right now I'm happy with my Brain Burst and Assail builds.
it's very much the support main psyker skill
Smite is the one I'm trying to build something around.
You can also “pulse” it to knock pretty much anything down from the bonus stagger when you end it on purpose
you run it with dome shield
and it's frankly very very difficult to lose runs if your teammates are even half-conscious
like 'what if chant didn't even pretend to have a cooldown at the cost of not being able to stun monstrosities'
Sounds to me like Smite Pairs well with Dome shield and possibly Enhanced Psi?
I typically use Dome Shield with my Assail build, which can be a nice support tool as well as a panic button.
But recently I started looking at Scry to go with my Assail Psyker. But that feels like flying especially close to the sun.
My personal build for it is
- Ilsi force sword
- Surge staff (best at killing specials and elites for warp charges)
- smite
- dome
- warp siphon
With high warp charge stack smite becomes a credible threat to hordes and lasts an insanely long time
And warp charges also get me Moar Domes
Which is the real goal of the build haha
I mean when you dome almost on command that makes a huge difference
Lighting hands and lightning staff eh?
Both thematic and synergistic
I was about to ask if anyone wanted to play but my block just browned out LOL
Empowered Smite seems to do decent enough damage
But it's hard not to take dome + warp charges for more dome
Empowered smite is pretty good yeah
And it doesn’t give you a perverse incentive not to Dome
Never not doming
Fair, but I think my flowchart of shooters = dome, everything else = smite still works out with that perverse incentive lol
Yeah it’s just fun to uh
Ride the lightning with 6 charges and 70+% warp for all those damage bonuses
Fair
<@&1042950387478560878> Does anyone want to do a run or two of darktide?
yeah Smite doesn't do much damage but it stuns basically the entire screen, and it's insane how valuable that is
rip failed the first attempt on the new mission in a pub when both twins showed up at the same time
Also, I find it funny that none of the team is commenting on the fact that the Interrogator thinks we should leave
(also I am surprised he cares so much for us)
It’s not so much us as it is his hard work in breaking the moebian morale
That he wants to save
He talks about not being wasteful too
<@&1042950387478560878> I'll be doing some runs in service of Melk, should anyone care to join
In a bit. Have to finish this run
Ok, I see why people take a ton of wounds on this mission lol
We did it. Barely lol
This melk club seems decent?

Found dead in miami
oh noe
It's got high scores on all the important bits
not sure what to upgrade or swap here
Specialist damage for weak spot damage or crit chance, then if you get another rank 4 blessing down the line you can swap for rank 3
I think Skullcrusher 4 is pretty much the blessing, the rest all seem to be +impact and it already has plenty
does this thing really want to be critting?
Crits aren't super important but they're a nice bump
30% from bleed, 25% from fury, 5% base gets you 60% so another 5% is just nice gravy
gotta say that I'm loving the thunder hammer tho
wish it worked better on the karnak twins
Thunder hammer does it all
On the flip side there's a bunch of zealot builds that really don't care about crit chance and you can save points just going for base damage boosts like Momentum or Martyrdom and use charge if you need a big crit
OK, stuck crit on it which apparently misses no breakpoint but "special attack heavy onto flak gunner head" so no harm done, they are easy to clean up anyway
this doesn't kill Crushers very well but my rifle can clean those up well, and it solves the number 1 zealot problem I've been having which is "can't really hurt Bulwarks"
Thunderhammer is alright for the twins as long as you know its your job to slaughter crushers and maulers when they spawn
spamming push attack on the Crusher is absolutely wrecking ragers
comes out really fast, full staggers, two-shots if you get one crit which is highly likely with Fury up
the thing about the crusher is that with improved impact you can slap a crusher 2 or 3 times with lights and knock it down
its not dead, but its also not swinging
Yeah the weak spot modifier for the push follow up is super high
I'm spending more time with Trauma staff with Enhanced Psionics Brain Burst, Venting Shriek, and a knife, having a great time on Quick Play running up the numbers on those spawn points where they all jump to the same spot and clip into each other
That is an explicitly excellent place for the trauma staff, as it's effectively an at will Grenade explosion with no limit
"BROTHERR"
Interesting, I find the trauma staff a little underwhelming without some warp charges to boost it
It does 700 damage or so unboosted so it's enough for any non-special or elite so anything bigger either gets chained brain bursts or you give 'em a second blast to ragdoll for the team, the melee weapon is the most flexible part of the kit because it's almost vestigal
More damage helps kill stuff further from the epicenter though
Which I really like cause the trauma staff has an annoying habit of ragdolling poxwalkers behind me haha
Yeah the 90% damage drop off on the fringes is a bit of a problem haha
yeah haha
I want to run a crit focused one cause the crits are really strong but its hard to give up Rending Shockwave
With warp rider up and a perk of your choice it gets to about 900-1000 damage before brittleness stacks which can two tap ragers but more likely three
Love the looks but it also feels weird to say, "Another mission in the sewers? Bring me my finest frills!" Joking aside the peg leg has my attention lol
Then again I like dressing my operatives as messes.
I do notice how sometimes some of the cosmetic are just combos of pre existing skins with a fresh coat of paint. Eh.
<@&1042950387478560878> can we summon up a hardmode squad
would ideally like two more, lets see what we can do
for sure, no way we doing this with random folks
I'm just in workshop mode on my builds and I've got so much stuff to do today, sorry.
I do wanna try a damnation run for the karnak twins
if anyone's down <@&1042950387478560878>
yes I know the rashad is better but it is a 380
swing
Slap headtaker or decimator or whatever rank 4 you have in for all or nothing and you got a winner, antax has always been a reliable mainstay
Swang
nearly got it, we got one of them dead once
one more good elite wave management coming out of one of the gas phases and we have them
Sure I just punched out for the day and am going to blow off formatting PDFs a bit

We'll be on in five or ten minutes, if you can wait.
You'd think that if rando players were in a Heresy Shock Troop Gauntlet they'd slow down and support their team more.
no man, its a race
gotta do the whole mission as fast as possible, skipping all the plasteel and diamantine, not picking up any ammo or med crates, skipping the healing, and leaving your allies behind
Just a normal Auric Maelstrom shock trooper gauntlet
friendship
Thunder hammer gang with a shoutout to antax combat axe-ing the right questions
Just for my own notes by my count that was 313 specials, 253 elites, and 25 monstrosities for a casual 666% ammo returned by vet ammo aura, everything perfectly in balance
E: turns out 566 isn't 666 whoops haha
feels like thunder hammer is a must for that kind of Maelstrom
much like a shocky psyker with the wall shield is needed for the mutant one
Yeah it sure is nice to boop monstrosities
i didn't know they included normal monstrosities into the mix
that was pretty scary
thammer was so good for just instantly getting rid of monstros as were kraks
I think I've got a weird but REALLY good warpfire build
Feels strange adapting my no ability build
Anyone down for some games
I did not expect axe to be this good though tbh
antax is worse than rashad but bm4 is uhhh pretty good still
The combat axes were super meta until a bunch of other weapons got buffed so I can buy it
shockingly high crit hit numbers as well
despite being a slow piece of shit relative to e.g. knife
Antax is so slow without attack speed buffs yeah
I knew they were meta but I always associated that with pre-classes 2.0 days
I mean I still somehow had most random adds killed in the above mauric
Brutal Momentum IV goes pretty crazy
and the chastise ASPD buff does a lot
it's no power sword but what is (the new eviscerator, the heavy swords)
huh, neat
Big shout out to Veteran super tagging also
this is also on the antax, the rashad has finesse in lieu of cleave (which is a useless stat with brutal momentum)
so in theory this is still suboptimal
i like beeg weapons on me zealot
Rudy Giuliani’s bodyguard got that Darktide fade
Stangely, I think that the best warpfire build doesn't use purgatus
Fifth element looking ass
Krall really fucked his shit up
Soulblaze blessing on trauma staff?
I want to see if brittle applies to soulfire
Looks like yes, but it's not particularly effective
Unfortunately I don't think Blazing Spirit on swords spreads wildfire because I like the concept
That seems odd, soulblaze does like 9x damage to unarmored vs carapace
I'd definitely want the enemy spawner mod to test because in theory a big soulfire trauma crit would wildfire fast
Crusher take 3 damage per tick from a 100% peril creeping blaze
no brittleness
Takes 8 per tick with 40% brittle
how many stacks is that?
That sounds about right I think
Interesting that it seems to be multiplying the carapace damage though
Since iirc six stacks vs unarmored is like 33 a tick
Testing on a reaper: 38 per tick with 40% brittle
Yet it's / IGNORE DATA
Found a testing error
restarting tests
I've heard that crushers have a lower stack cap for dots than normal
IIRC soulblaze actually deals more damage to unyielding than unarmored
So I wonder if Brittleness could make you lose damage?
Lotsa stuff blasts Unyielding surprisingly good
Crusher 0% brittle: 3dpt
Crusher 40% brittle: 8dpt (until 5 seconds pass and damage returns to 3 baseline)
Reaper 0% brittle: 37dpt
Reaper 40% brittle: 38dpt
Same damage as reaper is observed on Flak enemies
Maniac: 25dpt at 0 brittle
26 dpt at 40%
Seems like brittleness has virtually no effect on anyone EXECPT crusher
interesting
But crusher still takes fuck all
Weird note: True aim WILL consume stacks to guarentee crit trauma
Retested since I'm already testing shit. Assail eating true aim preemptively appears to have been a UI bug
Big sad
Surge Blazing spirit no worky
Oh that's a sahme
Aw that's too bad. I built my whole gun psyker around true aim.
Which stacks do you mea?. I'm wondering if it applies to my build.
True aim is working fine (mostly)
And I refer to the 5 stacks of true aim that get consumed by true aim when you have 5 of them and make a ranged attack
Ah so like any ranged attack be it Assail or with a regular gun.
Yes
True aim will activate off of ANY ranged attack (Exceptions off the top of my head: Smite, Brain Burst, Surge Staff)
I'm unsure if Purgatus will trigger the stack consumption but I'm certain that it doesn't build stacks (as it cannot land headshots)
<@&1042950387478560878> Game time
Would love to but just got off work and I’m going back in less than 8 hours
Wow, that sucks. My condolances
and we all survived right? RIGHT? #CapCut #MemeCut #warhammer40k #darktidememe #darktide #darktidegameplay #darktideogryn #darktidepsyker #darktidezealot #darktideveteran #darktide40k #warhammer40kmeme #darktidememes #karnak #darktidetipsandtricks

it sure sneaks up on ppl
Apparently that game I was a medic
A man was famously punched in the head while explaining it to a camera.
re: the frog
i don't know if i want the "yeh Sah" ogryn or the "Regular killing machine that's me" Ogryn
also, it seems like the professional veteran likes the enforcer psyker
A love story as old as time
I like Sah ogryn
Thats my Ogryn
Big shoutout to the Mk7 heavy Accatran recon lasgun, it's a great substitute halfway between a Mk1 Agripinaa Infantry Autogun and a Mk8 Agripinaa Braced Autogun
<@&1042950387478560878> this one looks scary
@cyan depot your psyker would be perfect for this
In in a blades game
oh
i see
yeah fuck it why not
lets do it
We'll be on in a few minutes; we just need to do a long rest in BG3, and then we'll be on.
gonna assume we want the taser psyker
"Barrel, have a care!"
i have a lvl 30 psyker, but he doesn't have anything of value
i was trying to get some stuff for that
but brunt gacha was not willing to help
@glass marsh does bob have that wall shield?
they bumb into it and then we can kil them all

oh noe
Zealot has no shield
oh sorry i read psyker lol
I'm down to play some after my game
I have the wall shield
I wanna see Hard Mode haha
Weekends are such garbage when it comes to connecting with the server.
<@&1042950387478560878> gaming?
Noticed this too
Lotsa rubberbanding today
how is this?
It's a shame that crit bonus is low for one which has critical hit damage
what's the stat that matters the least for this staff?
Most of them are pretty important for most staves
But warp resist or quell speed is easiest to give up imo
how's this then?
pretty hot
i just had the biggest anime moment in this game
both me and a psyker were left behind during the mission with the ugly rot tree
i got em up and we fought our way to the fricking escape
there was a lot of bullshit on the way
<@&1042950387478560878> Anyone up for some dark tiding?
I'd be amenable!
I am in SSC
coolio. I'll just finish up my food
is it just me
or does the quality of player actually take a dip down on heresy from malice?
heresy is the difficulty to speedrun for materials on
The speedruns have been if anything the OK runs
I'm just getting a lot of players who blindly shoot daemonhosts, or keep blowing up from peril, or just go down all the time
four runs in a row I'm the last man standing as my ogryn (which I guess is to be expected but wow)
heresy is for sure a mixed bag
like legend in VT2 tbh
I guess this leads to the next question - what do I need to have in order to take on damnation?
decent-ish weapons and trinkets
all gold, but they don't have to be meta or perfect builds.
just having both perks and both blessings is good (and high level ones if you can but don't worry too much)
score is less useful than distribution but the general rule is 370 base stats+
that doesn't stop you from having just an absolute dumpster-tier damage stat for example
Gotcha.
man, hardmode twins is really not ideal with pubs
I had one good game yesterday where we almost got halfway but otherwise it's been curbstomp by them
I am... probably not going to grind for more than a "good enough" set of gear, because I think beyond that lies madness
someone ran the math and it's like a 1 in a million chance to get a meta piece of gear with perfect stats and blessings
so yeah just settle for pretty good and take the luck when it comes
So now I have gold 513 slab shield with Thunderstrike III and Skullcrusher IV, a Blastoom with Pinpoint Targeting III and Reassuringly Accurate III
more than happy with these for now
it's a one in a million chance to roll a 380 and then roll four good perks/blessings on it but getting a good weapon is significantly easier lol
And even then you can swap two of the perks on that perfect 380 so unless hadron says fuck varlets it's NBD to get a 360+ weapons with decent blessings
Yeah
Like I said perfect weapons are tough to get. Good weapons are much easier
chasing 380/550s is pointless anyway, most weapons have at least one dump
just roll for a couple 350+ grays and upgrade them and filter out the ones that get awful blessings or pull blessings for whichever one gets the best mix
there are also wack ass rng strats like upgrading to blue, then swapping a bad blessing to a tier iv one you don't want so the chances of rolling a bad perk are lower
useful 4/4/4/4 on perks/blessings and 370+ base rating is what I consider a God Roll, I have a couple of 4x4 380s that are absolutely perfect but they're really indistinguishable from lower bases with good dump stats
Quell speed is 100% the least important because psykers have access to a talent that increases quell speed by 30%

An easy go to talent is one where there's a 10 percent change to knock off Peril for each kill.
There's also warp blade perks that do similar.
Is it just me or am I also noticing speed runner will ignore chests now?
I really need to get Hard mode done ;-;
Depends on the difficulty and if they're going for survival or that sweet sweet plasteel
I’ve golded everything on my ogryn and am gonna try damnatiom for the first time this evening. Wish me luck
Heck yeah you're gonna crunch them all
Another question about a different class - is gun psyker using BB and Columnus good? It feels good at least on malice
Yeah I'm running that exact build right now
I was making it through heresy runs without personally needing medicae at all so I think my mechanical skills should at least not be embarrassing
Went shield, gauntlet with rock and charge
I really fell in love rock for whacking muties or gunners if I got caught reloading the gauntlet
Rock is so good
Sometimes it's worth considering weaponizing your peril. Warprider is a hell of a damage boost and scales with doing normal psyker shit
Unstable Power 4 and Warprider gives a 44% damage boost to melee when used in conjunction. If you intend on taking advantage of that, then you DON'T want battle meditation or Exorcist blessing
Also works nicely with one with the warp
Wow after grinding against hard mode twins in random queues because folks had the bells turns out that the normal mode is actually significantly more chill and doable

By "doable" I mean our fourth dropped and so a Plasma Vet, me as Zealot, and a shield Ogryn named Gief gave the twins a Spinning Piledriver of running around madly in coherency
Yeah normal mode is fine and can be completed by a normal damnation ready team
Hard mode is "you gon learn today"

hard mode is 'have a premade team with an actual team comp or perish. or 4 ogryn'
what about 3 ogryn and a baby ogryn
i've figured out what playing gunpsyker feels like
it's playing a boomer shooter
you're stupid fast, everything dies, but if you fuck up you just explode
just zootin' around with this laughing until I slip up and get instantly exploded by a rager
so real
Are you running Warp Charges or Disrupt Destiny?
Free bursts sure are nice
and that way I have a backup plan for "this asshole is too far away/too armored to shoot effectively"
Oh are you running Scrier's Gaze?
yeah
that's the lynchpin of the setup
pop scriers gaze and for like 30 seconds you're just sonic the hedgehog with a murder hose
Yeah I got one gun psyker that's BB/Scrier's/Disrupt and one that's BB/Bubble/Warp Charges and so this sounds like a nice change of pace
you could easily swap to disrupt destiny if you wanted to
in this setup
it's frankly kind of personal pref
warp charges are harder to get
I’m much less experienced and on lower difficulty I imagine, but so far BB, Scrier’s and Disrupt is really fun.
Can confirm it still works great threat 5
Mmm does Assail work with Enhanced Psy? Or am I just wasting charges?
Assail gets a nice bump consuming Enhanced Psi charges
Goes good with the 12.5% chance node
I tend to like the 12.5% node
<@&1042950387478560878> Any gamers around?
it shows me this too despite having blocked
none people
This just in, there is an emprical limit to the amount of toxicity one person can experience
Lmao, fatshark's game is just a little ffucked
I have 10 people blocked
That's fatshark
I don't think I've ever bothered blocking anybody, the player pop is healthy enough that I don't see anybody I don't like again usually
All of whom are blocked for being phobic and or throwing games
10 people in 500 hours ain't bad
I've match with some problem people a few times in a row, that's just the nature of late night quickplay though
Just did a quickplay auric damnation and filled in a slot from someone leaving (always a good sign)
It's Hab Dreyko investigate. They're just a little bit past the halfway point and dying so much because they can't handle a grimoire. Problem: The Ogryn has the grimoire and doesn't respond to any attempted communication. Doesn't seem to hear voicechat, doesn't seem to see text chat.
We get in a really nasty sitch on the stairs with a pack of bulwarks and a hunting party. and it's just me and him alive. I'm dealing with the dogs best I can but one jumps on me from behind. The man tbags me and literally noclips through the wall and falls through the map ending the mission
He calls me the Nword
lmao
Blocks were bugged, seem to be working now at least.
its a bug
from what I can tell it gives that to me when the person is in the loading screen
<@&1042950387478560878> Games?
Give me just a minute, then I'll be on
welcome to crusher's rock on a stick emporium
anyone will still running hardmodes or did i miss the gamer window
I’d be down tomorrow evening
If you need a fourth for hardmode I’m also looking to do some runs
bingus darktide
i need me an ogryn
Ogryns good lads
<@&1042950387478560878> anyone for some of those normal missions?

When ...
<@&1042950387478560878> anyone down for some hardmode runs or even just some normal missions
Same here, gotta pretend to be productive
Big shoutout to the new Mk XV Eviscerator on the twins fight though, big shield shredding action
fuck it
I'm game
my weird experience recently is i kind of like the old chainaxe more than the new one
Its heavies are super high stagger yeah
the light rev attacks make for a nice alternative of just spam swinging at heavier enemies, and then you can use the rev attakc when you want to be serious
whereas teh assault chain axe calls for heavy revs
which can be a lot harder to get out
am in the VC
Any luck with the hard mode runs?
furthest ive gotten with randoms was like one twin at 10% and the other basically untouched
makes damnation feel like a cakewalk
I haven't been able to try it much I wanna fuck around with it
saaaame
it's Genuinely Hard
super fun, berry tough
i think i'd like one nerf/change to it
wwhich is making getting hit by a bomb give you a short period to not get hit by the enxt one
otherwise it's fine
haven't beaten it yet, premade team in here managed to kill one once
I think we nearly had it
Switched my Assail Gun Psyker build from Enhanced Psy to Disrupt Destiny and... it works really well.
Disrupt destiny is really fun
I'm down for perks that just generate more and more momentum the more you keep playing aggressive.
That's a good one, especially if you have a faster gun.
also for armor cracking if gun isn't cutting it
I like BB on it, but I’ve also basically on played it duoing with my smite psyker partner
1 bubble smite psyker and 1 BB gun psyker have pretty much everything you need to take anything on
I'm finally comfortable enough to pull back on dumping everything into toughness to pick up some more potent nodes.
what;s a good Single-Shot Veteran weapon?
Not a big fan of the bolter, too unweidley personally
mhm
hard to go wrong with the kantraels
Revolver is my fav by a lot but some of the headhunters are neat and you can’t really go wrong with any of the shotguns
Both the Kantrael 1a and the Kantrael XII infantry lasguns punch folks nice in weak spots
Plasma is amazing as well.
revolver is probably your go to, aside from that as others have mentioned the kantrael 12 lasgun slaps, the vraks headhunter with the semi auto is one i like
plasma is quite good
you might feel a bit shot for ammo until you learn to pace your enthusiasm for plasma death
plas js gorgeous
Plasma does take some getting used to and very strict stat requirements tho
Even with the charge rate bug fix
having a 60% heat resist is agony
honestly i don't think they're that strict tbh, i think the charge rate thing is a nice QoL thing to consider, but you can use a plasma without
It's still a gun that wants everything
I am on the verge of popping from 2 heavy shots
honestly a lot of gaff can get taken from the plasma on account of just being able to shoot through almost everything
and being able to readily engage a crusher without much trouble
Yeah, the plasma has issues but the ability to quickly take it out and shoot anything in the game and along with everyone else in between you and your target is crazy powerful.
After the buff we have had issues with not having enough pen once
Plasma Gun is one of the premier weapon specialist picks
one of the guns ever
oh? What's it get from the one juiced shot?
the guarantee'd crit?
alas, i have gets hot, ultimately i want to spam a bit
Two big things is the guaranteed crit and the partial magazine refill on swap and the 20% reload speed if you spec that node
Goes great with Agile Engagement 25% buff to the other weapon on kill
what you actually get is the free reload lol
ah yeah absolutely fair
i currently run my plasma on left side for ultimate erasure of big things
but i might try out the right side instad
instead*
Sometimes with agile engagement it's tough to land a gun kill to buff your melee and plasma guarantees with a 2000 damage light shot yeah you're getting that bonus
that and 25% extra ammo
I have become the number 1 left side columnus infantry autogun fan
with Onslaught and Marksman's Focus it melts anything, including carapace
it's not as efficient as plasma for crushers and maulers, but it works on them
that's right side
Yeah left side you get the 10% rending at 10+ stacks of Marksman's Focus and you still have points to grab the 10% rending middle tree
For the curious: it was a flamer behind a horde behind a Plague Ogryn behind a horde.
At which point 100 cleave is not enough
But like, come on
I still don't rate the Columnus tbqh
The lack of blowthrough just makes it so much less versatile
ive seen it perform well enough to know it's got chops, but ive not taken it for a spin myself
I actually skip the 10% Marksman's Focus rending point because Onslaught is plenty
but you do want MF itself
I tried the other autoguns but the absolute insanity of Columbo Onslaught absolutely beats out the Graia and the Agri
I find it doesn't even need blowthrough because the moment one of your bullets hits a weak point the target dies
I can just hold LMB into hordes and get killstreak lines
Columnus Mk5 Infantry autogun and by association Graia Mk4 Braced Autogun actually are better the worse your aim is because the sheer amount of bullets per pickup compensates for not landing everything right on target
I do a lot of play while darktired though and so that's why I value stuff that does good even on body shots
It took me a minute to adjust for climb but honestly half they time I'm either pointing and clicking at extremely short range or just holding the trigger down and going "well, I'll get a headshot eventually"
especially against mutants
tiny little head
current infantry autogun build
the last two nodes on the capstone would be nice but Iron Will is just so good
Columbo sacrifices blowthrough to get much faster and more convenient at killing ragers, maulers and crushers, which I consider worth it. It's still not bad at hordes purely because of how quickly it drops anything you point it at and how many bullets it fires.
ultimately I don't really mind the columbo just because you are on the class with the power sword
it occasionally gets you but being able to shoot basically anything and get away with it is kind of nuts to me
I honestly find myself whipping out the power sword less with the Columbo because it works insanely well at close range point shooting
at that range you can't miss heads
and ammo isn't usually an issue
I personally have a giant stick up my ass about using ranged weapons to deal with hordes so that may just be a me thing
the thing does eat ammo and I also run shredders
I say "smoke 'em if you got 'em" and also I am perennially out of ammunition and shoot between 2500-4500 rounds per mission so I'm not the best reference
grenade choice with any infantry auto is personal taste, I don't have the one skill point available to try out smokes but I think it would be good for them
not bad to compensate for its limited range and cut sightlines I'd imagine
incidentally ive really enjoyed the lawbringer alt fire with that one blessing, as a horde clearer
I find shout, autogun and power sword are plenty for hordes, so I run kraks purely to clear Bulwarks, the only enemy that can actually stonewall me
its very satisfying
bulwarks are so annoying haha
I run raking fire/invis basically just so I can murk them easier
I like my setup because I can just krak them and then have Iron Will + Shout for huge durability
helps that this gun is pretty gorgeous
need Dumdum 4 and then it's pretty much done
max mobility actually does help here because if I'm doing the point shooting thing it lets me just weave around the odd chaff unit while shooting important things
I'm actually becoming a big fan of max mobility rolls because the difference between 60% mobility and 80% mobility on a lot of guns is 20% sprint speed
I sprint faster with the gun out than with my fairly mid mobility power sword out because power sword is slow already
I may get myself a max mobility new-knife, swap to shredder frags and embrace being John Counterstrike
John Counterstrike is incredibly fun
my original vet loadout was knife+brauto and post-infantry buffs it looks like columnus is probably just better
I just blew all my gold on a decent Heavy Eviscerator but my next money sink will be a good knife for my vet
Not pinging yet wanna tide in 30 minutes?
<@&1042950387478560878> I'm down for hard mode or just normal missions or whatever
Gimme a sec and I’ll be on for hardmode
