so i replayed the game two days ago and i've been thinking... does kris know more than us about the prophecy???
when it clicked for me that the soul and kris are separate entities it made the "go away, watch a cutscene presumably so i can talk to kris alone" lines from ralsei take on a certain aspect
and since ralsei really didn't want the gang to find out about the last prophecy it makes me wonder if maybe some part was about making sure the soul wouldn't find out?
especially since kris solo seems to perk up when susie's talking about how "we aren't gonna let it happen," i dunno, my thoughts still aren't organized

You’d think if it was just an uncomfortable subject that there’d be like some dialogue where somebody almost mentions her but then switches subjects but there’s nothing.

I think part of the general thrust of DR as a game might be that Self-Identity is a sort of Fiction

in both senses of the word

The thing the world tells you to be isn't necessarily Truth

and the act of becoming someone and developing that sense of self is a creative work

So the Titans are just the thing that most blatantly reveals this as something true

They exist but entirely without context or personhood, they only destroy - they never create

They are faceless and empty inside, what is the thing that makes them different from Darkners in general? What makes either of those different from you?
