#Armored Core General!
1 messages · Page 30 of 1
Without augments might lack the hooking up part going by arena logs, making it harder to adjust to new configs as quickly.
You may not realize the depths of hater one of those 2 are
Snail is a snobbish imperialist type and Iguazu is a complex bag designed to take the throne of the hateocracy
Snail's hatred is just a byproduct of him encountering someone who earned something, hating is part of who Iguazu is
Bullying Snail is always morally correct
Turn him into escargot
Snail just seems like a douche who refuses to give anyone a compliment for anything. Iguazu, iirc, straight up sent me hate mail. i figure he's the greater of two haters
Oh, Iguazu is a hater hater. Snail is too contemptuous and self-absorbed to really claim the mantle of hater, at least outside of the Semifinale for Liberator of Rubicon
Iguazu sends you a hate voicemail, even
He was willing to pick up the phone, dial your number, wait for your goofy answering machine, and leave a voicemail
Someone edited Iguazu's voicemail into an Xbox Live message and yeah, it's honestly seamless
Iguazu has some serious Xbox Live energy.

You talking about this one?
I find it funny after doing the second survey mission, you know the one where you kick the crap outta Iguazu for the first time?
You the Melander C3 frame.
This implies you fucking steal his AC.
Pffft
He also has a different version of his AC in that fight btw
Swapping his shield out for an ORBT, his arms for Mind Alpha and his generator with an Arquebus one
Might even have a different booster too
Same in Alt Institute City too
Testing out Tetrapods btw if anyone has any recommendations
Using this as a baseline for my ideal Tetrapod
Also made an MT-like build for shits and giggles
I did a tetrapod only playthrough and it was hard not to use this all the time lol
this one is somewhat silly but fun and surprisingly workable
it's my pocket C-Weapon
that is a hella nice looking AC
second favorite of my ACs
better how
Quad shotgun
lolol
I see the appeal spiritually. But you should try dual haldy and dual LCS if you haven’t before
I personally don't like having two of the same weapons on my AC, hence why I always build asymmetrically
I'm a dual trigger fiend
My main uses the Attache and Ransetsu-RF together if that counts
I like the burst damage from the RF
Back on my bullshit with the Karasawa
Finding out that this works really well as a mid-range specialist, so I got Pulse Protection to help maintain that
I'm also learning more trigger discipline with the Karasawa too
I just realized that the fully charged shot pierces and deals multiple ticks of damage very quickly too
Do you stagger punish with trueno?
Kinda
I use the Trueno right at the edge of the enemy's ACS overload to both hit the stagger and force them to take a direct hit before blasting them with a fully charged Karasawa to finish them off
I have trouble landing truenos prior to stagger
That's what the missile lock is for
I've noticed locked Truenos have better steering at mid-long range, limited angle up-close.
Otherwise you can just treat it like a cannon for when they are staggered
Point-blank is also best for unlocked
It just me, or does the MIA mission convey "you are a terrible person for doing this" more than any other mission?
It's definitely up there, ||seeing the hell caused by your actions on that route as you leave the place||.
Smol glint obtained
Smint
Ok, ||The Enforcer fight. Sick as hell. Got my shit rocked a lot, but that was probably the best fight so far||
||Also, rip Iguazu? though for some reason I can't imagine that's the last i'm gonna see of him||
Is this your first playthrough of the game
yep.
as an aside, i can't help but feel my build is missing something. i wanna replace the right shoulder weapon with something, but i haven't landed on anything i'm in love with yet
Iguana...
If you cant think of anything, use ol' reliable MLT6
Honestly id recommend just trying everything at your disposal
Or waiting for new parts to unlock
||Bro stayed hating till what I’m tentatively assuming is the bitter end. I dunno why I’m assuming bro ain’t dead. His AC exploded. But still||
Wish i could help
But i never stopped using the first shoulder missiles you get in the game
So far, I’ve just landed on the songbirds. I was using a homing missile, but it didn’t have the kick i was looking for
Got those 4 shot missile launchers and i brought them with me through the entire game
There was a 10 count(?) shoulder missile that was nice, but not very good for the play style i’m goin with
I tend to stick too close for them to hit reliably from the distance i was firing from
You've unlocked the shoulder weapon bays in the OST chip menu right?
That should also widen your options
Mmhm
For one, handheld missiles tend to reload slightly faster than their shoulder versions
I dunno if i wanna go more gun. At least not on my right arm. Closest i’m doing to that is swapping between the starting sword and a machine gun on the left hand
Fair
Actually, maybe i’ll give it a shot. See how i like it
Wish we could dual wield like in ACFA
Imagine the chaos
I love how bonkers ACFA got with certain weapons
The Kojima blade is just like, a nuclear bomb pretending to be a sword, it has no range whatsoever and swing ultra slow
But it's almost guaranteed to kill anything it hits since it causes effectively a nuclear explosion upon enemy contact
One of my favorites tbh
Made this to min-max with the Moonlight
And ngl, I kinda like it
Hand split missiles are underrated btw
This mod is so fucking cool~!
Found that the NGI booster is really good on this too and it gives me enough spare EN to cram the WLT FCS without any major drawbacks
Alright Ayre...i'll hear you out.
MarshallMars! Gundam Exia!
Eliminating the Target!!
"*The enemy has taken significant damage..."
Then i'll lay on the pressure! TRANS-AM!
Trans are
You activate TRANS-AM and the RBG lights flash to trans pride colors
Maybe a cyan or light blue as a main color and white as a secondary color?
Oh and Crescent Danger for the name.
or Crescent Dagger if you prefer.
A little too long to be a dagger imo
Moon Moon
The original got taken down for some reason but luckily i have it so its back
shameless discord plug: https://discord.gg/fwhxAvV2ez
Glint mints! (Minty fresh!)
hell yeah, understated
Based it on the Institute AC since I'm mainly using RRI tech
And used it to roast Iguazu sub-20s
Hey Ayre, what can you tell 'bout this thing?
"MSZ-006 "Zeta Gundam" is a prototype transfo-(blahblahblah)"
(Huh what's this lever do?)
Plastic AC
And yes. you can do the Waverider crash attack
WOOOOOOOOOHOO!
"R-raven i think you're having a bit too much fun..."
NO! SUCH! THING!
It has easily the fastest assault ive ever seen!
900+ speed!
Ngl, Idk the majority of these references since I've only watched Thunderbolt
If it's assumed that you're spedometer is measured in MPH im going at LEAST Mach 1.1
AND YOU CAN FIRE WEAPONS IN WAVERIDER MODE TOO!
This might be my new favorite, and i haven't even gotten to the Seed suits yet.
Yeah fuck Io Flemming...but I do like jazz.
I also learned that amputating all your limbs makes you a potential super-soldier from Thunderbolt
I think I'm gonna swap back to the P05 FCS on this AC because I was playing through Attack The Watchpoint and Sulla kept kicking my ass because I wasn't able to recover my EN fast enough
And Balteus too
The VE-20B needs that extra EN efficiency in order to make up for its longer recharge delay and I need to learn to use it more efficiently
Should I swap back to the Gills for more QBs or stick to the NGI for absurdly fast AB Shuffling
I think Gills or Flugel would work with the limited regen better? NGI is great but incredibly EN hungry in return.
Yea
I only use the NGI boosters with the San-Tai because of that
Specifically on my main
And I don't think I have to worry about Melee Boost Speed with the Gills since I'm using the Moonlight which puts you into a stationary stance when you attack
Yeah, Moonlight is sort of a "ranged" melee weapon
As odd as it is
You don't close with the enemy when you attack so the boost isn't relevant
Also scales off your generator's EN Weapon Adjustment on top of your arms' Melee Specialization
Which is why I'm using the VE-20B + Basho arms
Mainly just to see if I can make a viable build
It's really cool, but I end up using Bazookas again when the wide beam isn't needed.
I kinda treat the double slash mode of the Moonlight like a bazooka sorta
Found out that it combos pretty nicely with a kick too
I like to fire a split missile as I'm rushing into an enemy before I land the kick so they have to deal with that volley on top of it
Really good against tanks
Also I really wish I could add decals to the Mind Beta's cranium under the glass so I could make it Breon themed
@river junco I'm also working on a paintjob for it, here's a WIP over here if you're interested
I feel like it’s a lil too dark but maybe it’s just the testing room lighting
Yea, still a WiP
I kinda want it to be dark to contrast with the lights more tbh
Dark with lights is a peak AC look tbh
Honestly I'm partial to any simple & clean paintjob that uses illuminated bits as highlights, whether dark or light. Excellent aesthetic
It is excellent
Thank
huh, looks like the next patch is coming soon or something, 1.08 patch
That already happened
Literally the entire patch notes are just this
Unless they're making another one, idk where you heard that from though because I can't find anything on it online
ah
I only just knew about this because a youtube was talking about this today, and well, he's definitely very slow on the trigger pull if this thing is 20 days old already
Chrightt?
He tends to take more time to do thorough research instead of posting ASAP
Although he hasn't done anything Armored Core related in a while
it's not a huge surprise, he likes to crunch numbers and since 1.07 there hasn't been much in the way of new numbers to crunch
oh he's been doing MH Wilds content recently, sick
yeah his last AC6 video was literally the patch 1.07 breakdown
Yea
i appreciate how Chrightt is like "i will base everything on numbers and what i do not have numbers for i will rigorously test in-game until i do"
Same
I do hope we get an official DLC down the line
Maybe a Branch and/or Nightfall PoV storyline
Or possibly even something that completely derails the campaign's story into something entirely different, like someone else makes Contact before you can or even another who made contact at the same time
People really want a Shrieker DLC
Which could be interesting if he shows up
What would be really funny is an alternate timeline where Dafeng Kid survives from pure dumb luck
I also had a dream one night where there was a DLC where Rummy makes contact and turns into a formidable pilot because of it, with a final boss fight against him in a terrifying mega C-Weapon
Master of Arena is pretty fun.
It is! It's actually one of the best in the series imo
at least i get to listen to sick beats while i fear for my life i guess

Armored Core 666
I'm taking this Tetrapod build out for a spin in some missions and I'm really liking it
Armored Core Six and Violence
looks cool 😁 i'm a fan of tetras
getting to do charged shots on the move is fantastic
Also gave this Tetrapod a new paintjob to commemorate pulling me through Ch1 on testing
And yes it is
ooo, i love the dark red and the black together. they almost shade into each other, in a really visually pleasing way
Thank
Should I use any patterns on it btw?
Here's the build again if anyone is wondering btw
Rusty DLC
Would be cool if there was a prequel campaign before the Fires of Ibis
not the same guy but I just love this clip lmao
Pffft
Ngl, when you spam the Haldemanns and Laser Cannons back to back like that, it looks like your AC is hitting the griddy
If I try out a tank legs build, should I go with the wheelchair or rocket legs?
are rocket legs even good? i've never really been impressed by them
Rocket tank has absurd AB stats, more than Buerzel but to offset absurd weight.
The rocket legs are insanely fast if you AB with them and they're really good at shuffling on top of that
Drains energy wildly fast (with QBs), and slow QB cooldown.
The QB cooldown doesn't really matter if the duration is long enough, that's what matters for shuffling
so the reason I've never been impressed is because Chartreuse doesn't really AB much 😛
Chartreuse is maybe the squishiest tank in the game, I've functionally oneshot her with Redfin
skill differential
The main downside of the rocket tank is that it has abysmal Attitude Stability
I remember it being usable, but really low by Tank/hitbox standards.
I know someone who taught me how to shuffle, made a whole video on it
Takafumi is a bit of a celebrity player in the Armored Core scene, known for his "shuffling" technique, Takafumi is able to outrun much faster ACs with a tank! Takafumi is also an Armored Core veteran of over two decades and a player with unmatched technical expertise.
"If we can just hit the target, we won't lose. It's common sense." - Takafum...
rocket tank is somewhat popular for airborne builds from what i've seen
since you can get 100% airtime with a coral generator
i want to put together a wheelchair legs build sometime, since being able to fire back weapons on the move seems fun to me. but i've never gotten one together that quite satisfies me
There's a meme build I tried out that I kinda like with a quad shotgun build on a rocket tank
Basically just turn my AC into a supersonic battering ram
seems rude to not put laser lance on that
I wish there was a more bursty Pulse weapons available outside of the Butt Blade
I suppose Assault Armor counts too tho, doesn't it?
it certainly is a burst, yeah

Saw that
I think I wanna go back to that Tetrapod build I was working on before since these ultra heavyweight bipeds aren't working out as much as I'd like
The Tetrapod just has much better mobility so I don't have tank everything thrown at me

#armoredcore6 #ac6 #armoredcorevi #lightweight #lw #lwac ##armoredcore #アーマードコア #tetrapod #quadlegs #quad
super curious what this cut mechanic they're referencing is going to end up being
yeah, and i suspect that this might have been intended as that given how well it matches the ORBITER core visually
but i guess they felt like it was too redundant with the Arquebus tetra legs to keep
Honestly, the other leg types need more niches like the bipeds
Like the Spring Chicken Reverse Joints could be a heavyweight focused on having a high weight capacity while there could be another option that is more about having better defense
Like the Wrecker legs to the Dessert
And those Tetrapods look like they could be more in between medium and lightweight to me, they seem skinnier than the Arquebus Tetrapods and bulkier than the Lammergeier
Or maybe even a more defensive lightweight option like the Alba legs
Bomb screenshot i got. Craps wallpaper worthy.
Idk why, but I prefer ACs that are customized to look like Gundams/Xakus over mods
Or idk, maybe I'm just yet to find one that suits my tastes
Pretty sure the PCA's Calvary units are inspired by Gundams too
I guess I like the grunginess of ACs more
Yeah the AC vibe really speaks to me
I wish they’d picked a good Gundam suit to mod in
That is a cool screenshot tho ngl
How many other parts and mechanics are still hidden in the game? Modders have already found traces and segments from extensions, weapon arms, wall jumping, and a few others that may still be fully buried deep in the game's files, waiting to be discovered.
EDIT: At 1:10, it's suppose to say "two hand stance's existence was first known". I can't ...
2 handed gun...
2-handed stance would have been a big help to melee (outside of hard melee focus), especially the higher recoil guns.
Also would be better for the Karasawa too
I hope this person makes a public mod with all these cut features and stuff
they seem to be more a dataminer than a modder, from what i've seen? though they've kludged together ingame functional versions of other stuff like the back boosters
Fair
I'm sure if i look hard enough, i can find a PCA LC part mod
Hell, it's prolly in the AC6 Armoury mod.
https://www.nexusmods.com/armoredcore6firesofrubicon/mods/158?tab=images Oh hey look at that. Heavy Cav' right 'ere!
Huh
Ok, i tried the mod. it's really cool looking, but in comparison to the Gundam mod...it's aight.
Kinda feel like they should make a mod for HC parts having their own stats too rather than just being a reskin

worth noting that when you deal enough damage to the boss to advance to the next phase, any adds that are still alive disappear

i need to play more ACFA
godsdamn missiles do damage
tried to fight Otsdarva
and we keep stalemating
i can't hit him enough cause he's so disgustingly fast
and he keeps not being able to kill me before running out of ammo cause i'm disgustingly tanky
i tried adding blades for holdout weapons but i'm just straight up not fast enough for them to matter
honestly kinda funny
especially cause i stomped everyone else i fought quite hard, Otsdarva is just built for dodging like a motherfucker
simply does not stop
Yea, I heard For Answer is brutal
Would you say it's harder than Last Raven btw?
i have not played Last Raven
Definitely not
Figured
I think people tend to agree on Last Raven being the series' hardest
From what I've heard, Last Raven's economy (used parts selling for less), and potentially losing parts from battle damage(?) drive up the harshness if you're in too deep on some routes.
Yeah it's one of the rougher games for economy and it's got the late third gen simulationism going on where you have a lot to track
damage to your mech impairs you actively, for example - it's not just an AP bar, if you take too many hits to the head part not only will you have to pay full price for a head replacement, your radar will be deactivated for the mission
similar with arms and weapons
huh
i haven't played the game but it sounds like it goes a bit too hard into the realism of operating a mech at the detriment of enjoying the game
Got some MechWarrior in their Armored Core there
Yeah that's a common criticism of Nexus and Last Raven
You can also overheat and destroy parts that way, though it's not as simulationist as Mechwarrior in that regard
Oh yeah, and heat increases when you use boosters
(and since this is oldgen, there's no quickboosting - this is just your regular boosters. the alternative is walking.)
ah
well
can't say i miss the days of no quick boost
not that i was there for them
but thank fuck for innovation
Quickboosting is fun but I like oldgen boost too, it's just different. You do still have overboost (think proto-assault boost, though vastly less powerful in combat than AB is)
You won't zoom to the same degree but you can absolutely still dodge and stuff, you just do a lot more running on foot instead of sliding and use the slide as your accelerated movement. Projectile speeds are largely lower to accommodate this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2hvKTisvgw like, skip the first three minutes of garage fiddling and here's some AC1 gameplay. You're still mobile, it's just different
Requester: Chrome
Advance: 0
Upon success: Based on results
Theater of operations: Gal City Office District
Enemy forces: Unknown
Conditions for success: 3 minutes of destruction
We want you to wreak havoc on Gal City. The job is simple. Jest attack
the urban area and fire at will at any attractive target.
If one finds oneself in danger,...
I think without quickboost is fine if strafing sideways is accessible. Gliding/sprint boost sideways can sorta make up for it by messing with projectile prediction (based on my own experiences in Dolls Nest, infrequent use of QB).
mhm
personally i do happen to be a big fan of obscene super movement like in ACFA, but i can understand that it also is a bit much
i thought AC6 did a good job being fast but not too fast, though it was also very vertical which was apparently a big change from ACV
yeah having played ACV and VD it is very not vertical
5th Gen ACs are noticeably bad at gaining height compared to other gens, to the point where being able to do so without a lot of effort is considered a huge mobility edge
mhm
you can't really emulate V or VD as i understand it so i haven't played them
but from what i saw that makes sense
Mostly you can't just choose to fly up, it's all jumping and terrain interaction
i've played 6, FA and i think a bit of 3
You can gain height mostly via walljumping so it feels very parkour-y in movement
sounds pretty neat
it's a lot of fun but generally does not lend itself to highly vertical gameplay
in that case AC6 is definitely more on the AC4/FA side of things than ACV/VD
Generally closer to that, yeah.
honestly i just want more ACFA type shit
i understand why we probably won't get it but i want it
even if we don't do the absurd speed again give me that nitty gritty customization
Notably Reverse Joints have an auxiliary thruster in 5th Gen that lets them gain much more height on a walljump than normal, so RJs rule for mobility in V/VD
there is so much shit you can customize in FA
hell you can specifically make your NEXT be good at moving in a direction
you can have none armor left speed if you really want
AC6 actually cut down a lot on the nitty-gritty. Part tuning was introduced in Nexus and lasted until Verdict Day, but is absent from 6
😭
you can calibrate your damn center of gravity in FA and that level of customization fucks
(My VD build was Yellowjacket, a light RJ with dual pistols and dual pilebunkers in my bay slots. It was a riot to pilot.)
remarkably zippy for 5th gen, I found my biggest issue was actually ammo for a lot of missions
(pilebunkers had limited ammo in VD, because you were using them to plant an explosive charge beneath the armor)
gods i adore my NEXT in FA, i keep thinking i need to try new things cause i have done pretty much just one build in the game
but it's such a cool build
I think my main in AC6 is somewhat inspired by 5th Gen but having more aerial capabilities, just needing to touch down every so often to recharge fully for a little less than a second
I can technically stay in midair indefinitely with it, but my movement is going to be hindered drastically by ABing my EN dry every second
I kind of want to compare Last Raven to MW5, since they both seem to have a similar loop of granular mech destruction that you're financially on the hook for
Because despite that similarity, MW5 doesn't have the brutal reputation that Last Raven does
Last Raven is also just a hard game in general
Is the combat itself just less punishing? It'd be interesting to compare
the economy doesn't help but it's considered one of the harder AC games just in its own right
Yeah that makes sense
And MechWarrior doesn't have quite the delicate balance of mech building that Armored Core does
I think a lot of missions in LR boil down to attrition, the most notable ones are long gauntlets with a boss at the end
You're determining firepower, speed, and heat management but it's not all quite as interdependent
AC6 has those too, but they at least give you repair kits
Oh yeah, the name of the mission I'm blanking on but there's a long one that ends with a Quad-leg Pulverizer fight
that mission is infamous and for good goddamn reason
And resupplies right before the boss/enemy AC
One of the starting missions in Last Raven puts you against a high-ranked named AC in your poor little starter mech
(though to be fair, this is intentionally brutal - it's a beef gate to keep new players from locking themselves into the harder routes)
did I mention Last Raven has like six endings?
Last Raven lets you pull in save data from prior games, doesn't it?
So yeah, having something to filter out players who aren't running endgame builds from the last game makes sense
You can import from Nexus, yeah
It's also meant to be played following 3, Silent Line and Nexus
Oh, yea, sorry
Jfc I type so slow
Lol that's discord, no worries 😛
You can only import from nexus, to be clear
you cannot import from silent line to nexus
I kinda wonder if AC6 might have DLC which is a continuation of the main routes
so nexus you're starting fresh, there are not three games of building up resources to work with here
but yeah, that mission being a filter makes sense
and while Last Raven's reputation is earned in other ways, it does probably contribute when people take the highest-paying mission off the bat and just get absolutely bodied on the starter mission
Would be cool! Something like Devil Survivor Overclocked's epilogues to the endings of the original game
Does Nexus and Last Raven have its equivalent of OP-Intensify to carry over?
No, OP-Intensify was removed in nexus and there is no equivalent
Kinda feel like Liberator of Rubicon would be the only one with room for an epilogue
Hell, they could even pull a For Answer of it where you're playing as some other augmented human
And you fight 621
Yeah Fires of Raven is pretty final ||(even if the stinger implies 621's survival, somehow)||, and Alea Iacta Est is...yeah. A bit Instrumentality.
People really want Keanu Reeves's character in a DLC
I kinda feel like he would end up being like if Sulla was more central to the plot
Which I feel is welcomed since he's too damn interesting to show up once
I know you mean the one from the secret level episode but the idea of Johnny Silverhand appearing in Armored Core with zero attempt at explanation is hilarious to me
Pffft
And then it ends with Walter carrying you after waking up saying "621, we saved you from a gas leak in your cockpit"
man i love NEXT's
No, no, Johnny Silverhand just inexplicably replaces Ayre. The plot otherwise proceeds normally.
just building one for fun and i made its flight capabilities way too powerful
ASDFGHJKL
i keep just fucking rocketing up away from the enemy
Meanwhile, Ayre is stuck in V's head and Cyberpunk gets stranger
That reminds me
Mmm kojim particle go brrrr
Captions are your friend here ;3
I think that would lead to something like the ending of Arcane ngl
okay but lowkey after my first FoR run i recolored my main AC build a dour, ashen gray and i have a bit written in my head about how even though Raven was never seen again, reports of an identical AC build designated FALLEN ONE (the main AC was named CELESTIAL VISITOR) have been circulating ever since
even if you have a bigger mech than a NEXT
you really just
don't wanna fucking fight one
they are constantly spewing out super death radiation on purpose
Idiot corpos in FA being like "with Arms Forts, we have rendered NEXTs Obsolete"
lol you did no such thing
i love the idea of Armsforts too
"surely they will not do something stupid like strap a rocket to their NEXT"
"we have built these city sized mobile fortress weapons to revolutionize warfare"
incredible stuff
Meanwhile in Verdict Day-
Would you say the Ibis Series are like the closest modern equivalent to NEXTs?
By default, yes
Except instead of spewing radiation, they cause your appliances to gain sentience
CEL-240 moves somewhat like one though it's way squishier than most NEXTs are
Coral is implied to be somehow toxic, or in some other way it "contaminates" its surroundings
so there's a parallel with Kojima particles there
although with Coral it's secondary to the fact that it's just absurdly explosive
The funny part about Verdict Day is you're fighting a guy who has never piloted a NEXT before and while he's a skilled pilot, he's not used to being able to move like that and frequently hangs in the air trying to stabilize after flash-stepping faster than he's used to. It's still one of the toughest fights in the series
I feel like Coral is probably scarier to deal with since it's both alive and has a will to fight back
and can regrow at an exponential rate
Yep
everything about coral is nonsense if you think about it too hard
it is some of the truest plotanium I've ever seen
Coral is Lovecraftian, that's what it is
I kinda wonder if BAWS ever had cases of their MTs coming to life because of their Coral wells
Nice, my first was with AC THORN.
That sleeve is still some of the best emblem-work i've done tbh
Hell yea
I gotta do some decal work one of these days. Never did much but the simplest
It was a basic bitch first build (Mid-heavy weight biped with BUTRknife and Songbirds) and not even good, but it was fun and I keep the file around just for its customization
my favorite of my builds is Lumberjack, though.
Is it good? no. Did I win with it anyway? yes
dunking on iguazu never gets old
i still think it's mad funny that my Dash Pinion stalemated twice against Otsdarva when i tried to fight him
righto, got three designs setup now for NEXT's
Dash Pinion being a ultra-heavyweight weapons platform
Solar Coast being an ultra-lighweight skirmisher
and Dune Cycle being more of a middleweight all rounder, capable of long range missile combat as well as close range machine gun runs
also i have now learned the truth that is ACFA's default control scheme being better than anything you can make custom
Solar coast is a great name imo
Thanks
I try to name all of my AC's and NEXT's with cool and fitting names
Dash Pinion prolly has the least fitting one cause it was conceptualized as a speedy flying RJ
It's still good at flying but it's not particularly fast anymore
It doesn't tay in the air well like my other NEXT's
But that's surely on account of the weight
Drops like astone which is funny cause Solar Coast and Dune Cycle do a short burst of hovering vefore faling and ammost instantly fly up again when i re-engage my boosters
Dash Pinion falls, stalls its momentum, and then starts flying again
First one be if Snail was cool
Snail wishes he could make something as epic as Dash Pinion
OMAE WA MOU
SHINDEIRU
Watch my streams at https://www.twitch.tv/inhibitprogress18!
Lmao
ASDFGHJKL
Not really, at least not as far as I know
It does pierce though
And deals lots of damage over multiple ticks
Nice
Splash damage is fun on quad builds bc you can just do aerial bombardment
But this build seems like fun as well!
Yeah, more about using the quads' ability to fire changed KRSV shots without being immobilized
I have experienced this particular pleasure myself
Nobody expects the pre-stagger Trueno
This but Ace Combat, Assetto Corsa, Assassins Creed and Animal Crossing.
AC6.5 or AC7 seems more possible at this point.
i would not object to that either
More likely a 6.5
so long as i get more AC content i do not care
ACFA is what i've been jumping to when i feel the bug tbh
This is the second time I've updated all my stuff (game, drivers, validate files, etc) to find the game performed worse for me, I have no idea why
😔 I think I might be cooked
You would think it would be a non issue when I run like mhwilds and ue5 games without causing my motherboard to turn cherenkov blue but here I am
oh that is really weird. AC6 ran like a dream on my old rig, never mind my upgraded MH Wilds one
I've seen that some people online are saying it's a change to EAC where it's basically repeatedly checking things constantly, which makes sense since it very closely mimics the Denuvo stutter in how it works
Only with this update it also obliterated my frame rate
well i'll see
hang on, 1.09?
gah, they didn't drop an announcement through Steam
and i'm going to take a wild guess and say this is incorrect
...!!
stun needle projectile speed buff??
that's potentially huge
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
They buffed the Spring Chicken???
Mostly buffing weight capacity, and +40 stability.
Hell yea
Losing the Trueno gives me a lot of much-needed mobility
i wanna see how the Javelin Alpha and stun needle do with the projectile speed buffs
i feel like that's going to make it a lot easier to land hits with them
nice
Decided to try something different with this AC's paintjob
And found that max saturation in photo mode gives really cool cell shading
Idk what to name this one btw
Diamond Weapon
that looks very sleek
?
Huh
FF7 super boss that has a similar profile, and is also a big plodder with big laser blasts
Kinda figured it was a FF boss
Super gremlin
I love LoD creature design
Ivory Citadel
Another one being Redbone
Like the song
Love that song, I suggest giving it a listen
Or maybe Red Velvet?
I am using the Dessert legs after all
Although I don't think I'm using enough RaD parts to give it a doser name
not with that attitude
I just realized that the formation that the Aurora beams and JVLN missile launch make the shape of a hand btw
wait really
Ye
Man Curtis/JavAlpha/6xPlasma Missiles/ExThrower is goated
Just beat iceworm and god is this combo satisfying
without stun needle?
back in AC6 after a long hiatus and
i am getting so fucked up with the controls
barely even managed to climb the wall wow
so used to ACFA controls it's tripping me up
Same after coming back from Warframe
It can be done! It's just significantly harder
lol
sweeped it relatively easily on the second
that sounds like an annoying boss to try to fistfight!
my entire fucking brain had to rewire itself between those fights
i still have no idea how to quick turn
I've done Juggernaut with chainsaw meme build and I think it was harder than the NG++ final boss
got a B rank first time and S-rank second, but Wallclimber is easy as hell
can i quick turn in this game
It's definitely in the game, though I've never quite got the hang of it
i've been learning it in ACFA
oh i hate that
you need to time your movement input and the boost button while moving to either side or backwards
In AC6, I've really only seen Quick Turn used for turning in AB.
that sucks wow
ok so that's not something i'm going to use lmao
oh you need to hold the button
i thought you just pressed it
i'll need to try this during combat
ok i think you could finesse that if you practiced
i think i still like that less than what you have to do in ACFA
i don't think it's worth tinkering with for my purposes
hardlock existing makes it not so much of an interest for me
in ACFA there is no hardlock so you kinda gotta
also it's not tied to your movement it's tied to your camera
the biggest thing i found difficult trying it out just now in AC6 was just de-engaging trying to move in my head while also still using the movement stick to adjust the camera, and trying to move while using it was even more difficult cause i'd try to flick for movement and it'd go in the wrong direction
in ACFA i can just disengage movement, camera rotate with the right stick and boost button, then re-engage movement again in one fluid motion
gonna take Dawn Anchor up the wall
damn the moonlight blades do damage
oh yeah another thing i keep forgetting
i don't need to hold down any buttons to boost, only need to press it
in ACFA you need to hold down boost
I was NOT expecting to find something this awesome!
If BAWS MTs where meant to be the equivalent of Zaku's in Armored Core, then this variant must have been meant to be the "Commander type" variant.
Looks like From Soft is a big UC fan(and just a big fan of mecha in general) if they where planning to have an MT for squad leaders with a fin to ...
made a new AC while i was at it, Toxicant Exodus
an aerial long to mid range hunter
greeen
color schema inspired by frogs
double stun needle is evil
curtis for building up stun and double needle for either proccing or just humungous damage
i am just reflexively afraid of that AC
is double Curtis that effective at building up stun?
on quad legs it's pretty decently effective yeah
you're very free to swap between regular and charged shots as needed
The frontal shield is just a fancy super durable pulse shield

Plus you have the stun needles to use as needed
Interesting...
Yall i know you can beat ice worm without stun needle, I just wanted to know if that’s how @polar osprey tested their build lol
everyone answered that question except the person I asked haha
Maybe it's just leftover memories from before the stun needle nerf, I remember that punish was brutal
I always test my builds against Locksmith and Nightfall
If i use a mission as a test it's usually Wallclimber
Those two as well as Wallclimber give a decent test of its speed, handling of groups and tougher singular targets, ability to dodge and maneuver and deal with being under fire with the cannons
Not the most rigorous testing but it lets me get a good feel for an AC quickly
Jokes aside, that's pretty terrifying
i'm not particularly good at piloting it but it's a fun build
also once again hitting on that symmetry that i would definitely be known for if i was an AC make in the game
I got steamrolled by a friend at one point who went full heavy Tetrapod with dual Stun Needles and Therapists for shits and giggles
i only have like, one other tetrapod AC i've made
can't remember what i named it rn
This is very fun, I should figure out what weird quirk I would have in my bio as an AC arena NPC
mhm
i build symmetrical builds like 90% of the time
it's very rare and always experimental and out of my comfort zone to not do symmetrical builds
I build asymmetrically 99% of the time
i both build symmetrically and go for very, how you say, constant builds
my OASIS is symmetrical tho
most of my AC designs are about keeping constant pressure on the enemy
i'm a very middle ground pilot which is reflected in my builds along with the symmetry
my only symmetrical builds are weird
Oh I do also frequently do dual haldeman dual LCS
which is like the epitome of this
AC: SHOTGUN ANGEL
angel with a 2 shotguns
Apparently the third re-install fixed whatever my problem was :D robot time for meeeee
Noice
i dont know if i ever posted the vy build
AC「AUDREY II」
i let her make a robot and she made the most insufferable annoying robot possible
literally just buzzes around like an annoying insect and bashes people with the flail, which for some horseshit reason is one of the best melee weapons in the entire game
there have been multiple games where the opponent completely does everything right, pops our terminal armor, then she just rushes them down and bonks them to death from a huge hp advantage
that's kind of hilarious
Armored Core?
indeed.
i will say part of the reason I feel I’d get stomped in pvp (skill issues aside) is that my playstyle was in your face lightweight
Is the core armoured?
and is probably exactly what I’m going to be again once I actually get parts
That can woek
That’s amore
on that note, have the pistols gotten touched since like
release? since I rather liked those but felt they needed a tuneup especially ammo wise
my time was before the balance patches ever came out
Oh here’s my fav build in action btw
#armoredcore
AC Name: YUKI NO KATA

The ducketts certanly did
Im not sure if they nerfed them down since i played
But when i did dual ducketts with a melee punish were absolutly terrifying to see on a lightweight
interesting… right now I’m thinking dual coquillett to finish off chapter 1, but Balteus looms on the horizon so I’m going to keep the pulse blade on my left shoulder as well
maybe laser cannon on my right if I can afford the EN (at worst this means a mission replay or two to get more funds, so not a huge deal)
i will say I had no idea Walter had alt dialogue in the first mission if you beat him to the repair section which was funny
I dunno why, but i never had issues with belteus, i rememmber first trying on my first playthrough
And then i saw a shitton complain about him under some video i watched
i did have some struggles with him but I also had like, no vision because glasses + headphones gave me headaches from the frame squeeze so I just. gamed without glasses for the longest
i also feel like I’ve improved by taking a big break from the game seeing as how I’ve managed not to fail any missions so far (albeit the ghost MTs nearly got me) despite the almost 2 year gap
which… for some reason is a thing that happens. i leave a game for an extended period, come back, and I’m better at the cost of muscle memory loss
The fucking ghosts can go into the ditch XD
I hate them
My worst nemesis in the game istg
honestly it’s just the last room that ate me up. regular encounters I can deal with
but my build was also not that great for fighting the shield guy which is why I walked out with no repair kits and 400-ish AP
Yea
Most of the mission is fine
But i still hate them
my brain would rather see blurs than lose music.
got eye surgery tho so I haven’t had to deal with that game of tradeoffs for a year now
i will say lightweight with the Lance was very fun until I got hold of Rusty’s melee
I just read those two messages again
Is my brain broken
Why cant i write XD
Yeeee
My first playthrough i ended up with dual ludlow plus lance and missiles on a lightweight
I loved the thinf
wonder if I still have the AC data for the build I finished NG+ in (quit before I started NG++ from burnout and other stuff going on at the time)
something to find out on Saturday I suppose
I wouldnt suppose so
The game sadly can only have a single save slot at the time
And if you start a new save while you have one already you have to delete it
yeah I know that part, but isn’t AC data and the like stored separately as well? like the actual preset thing
I mean I got to keep my emblems after all, those were both parked in there for me
if it is there I won’t have the parts to load it but I should still be able to screenshot the list and preview image
Hmm, i dont know then
mm it’s a hair wash night so I’ll check once I get out of the shower since I need my hair to dry before I go to sleep anyways
i wanted to post my build but i dotn have the game installed sadly
i suspect i might have been testing something before i stopped playing.
(and good news, yes the AC data stays separate from save file as i suspected. it's likely stored with the emblems in the same area)
as promised, this is my emblems - third is the WIP that i'll be doing either this weekend or on the week after next (since i'll have that entire week off)
took a while but here it is ||the left hand weapons are nebula redshift and coral pulse blade, not standard||
pile bunking Rimmy just feels like bullying lmfao
I think lightweights are pretty good at chasing down opponents and keeping up pressure tbh
more that i expect with my skill level i'd be the annoying gnat that you just like
clap your hands together to crush
I actually have an older build I think you might like if you want a rushdown lightweight with more survivability for practice
i don't intend to get into the pvp side, and my parts are limited to pre-sea spider at the moment - but if you want to send it, i bet I can learn from it
Honestly I originally just made it as a Harrison Armory cosplay design, but genuinely ended up liking it in a practical sense too
huh, weapons aside (and inners because idfr the ones i used) that's actually not dissimilar to a Legally Distinct Gundam build I was rocking for fun at one point
i'll def look through those parts in more detail once i can grab them for learning purposes - though in my eyes that's a midweight, but that definition is subjective AF so
i don't think i've ever seen any two people in the ac6 community agree on a definition for weight classes (or even which stat they use to quantify it) and mine seem to be on the slimmer side from what i've seen
still, 'preciate you pointing me towards it. i like disassembling folks' builds and seeing what i can take from them as far as design qualities and combinations
Usually what I hear is less that 65k weight is a lightweight
65-85k is a midweight and anything above is a heavyweight
And that one is around 62k
i've heard weight, load limit, QB/boost stats - i tend to be slimmer with my weight considerations than that (<55k lightweight, 55k-70k midweight, 70k+ heavyweight)
dig far enough i'm sure there's somebody who bases it off AP
the terms are incredibly subjective so they don't actually really mean much besides giving what general vibes you're going for
that said, it's about time (actually well past, but my hair took forever to dry) for me to sleep, so i'll depart with what I got together before I went into the infiltrate grid mission
(walter forgot to weatherproof the paint. not my fault)
i like using the tian head bc it looks like a space roomba. it being the lightest weight head actually was not a factor because the head just like... barely matters
Huh! reminds me uncannily of my NG+ build tbh between the color scheme and some of the parts
figured i'd go red (at least for now) to flip my previous one shown earlier having been blue-purple
Unironically, I kinda admire people who can play lightweights well
what V.I Freud would like to do whenever he sees the skittering bug that is a lightweight
Pffft
this is the build I recommend for folks who want to have an easy time
I'm a big fan of the Ch1 oops all lasers build
it's a bit like the one above except with the LRs instead of Haldys and you just operate mostly at midrange since you don't need to get close for haldys
The only reason i dont like lasers too much is just how shit they are at dealing with bubbles it issnt too bad vs standard ACs or belteus, but ||slugteus|| was a fucking nightmare when i fought it with oops all lasers
I mean, that's probably the hardest boss in the game, but fair
Maybe, but it wasnt anywhere near as hars when i fought it with pure ballistics or any other build of mine
I did everything my first time with Lance and PB and that one was rough lol || https://youtu.be/A3BJV_1Z4yM||
it's notably the only major boss besides Ice Worm that I haven't managed to beat with Chainsaw meme build, and not for lack of trying
The griddy hitter build
i cant belive ||you didnt try to kill him in the previous mission||
One of my favorite playthroughs was keeping the basic Loader 4 frame for the entire game (I improved the internals at least) while sticking to just the weapons that Walter’s hounds used. Here’s me fighting Arquebus Balteus:
I rather like LOADER 4 a lot, so I used a slightly modified version of the starter AC, but with weapons that are still fit within the AC’s theme so as to not be overpowered.
— — — BUILD — — —
R-Arm: DF-GA-08 HU-BEN Gatling Gun
L-Arm: HI-32: BU-TT/A Pulse Blade
R-Back: SB-033M MORLEY Spread Bazooka
L-Back: BML-G1/P20MLT-04 Missile ...
I just like Loader 4 a lot. Friend-shaped.
My first playthrough I may have missed that encounter lolol
the loader 4 is friend shaped yeah
especially with the finder eye
finder head just gives off “silly little guy” vibes
shooting swinburne the minute he drops his shield after accepting is still the funniest thing to me
punching him was even funnier
though i also never noticed he purges his arm weapons when he tries to parlay which is neat
I do love ayres comment when you do it XD
First time i went through the mission i litterly one shot him so hard none of his dialouge even had a chance to trigger, needless to say i was very confused
RIP
i went to do the alt route for the other log and accidentally killed him before he could surrender lmao
he popped his last repair kit and INSTANTLY died to the pile bunker
that comment is why it's one of my favorite moments. ayre's VA had the perfect tone there
i also love her "well. that was an adventure" if you do fight roku
I do love how Ayre is on board with that mercenary life
Like the uhh, the mission where you blow up all the fuel tanks, she's just like "let's make some extra cash, Raven 😊 "
the fact she even brings it up first before you get to them
girl wants some extra company bucks, I respect it
“Walter, the lady in my head is being adorable.”
“…621, are you… nevermind. Focus on the mission.”
Walter thinking that not only did you go completly insane, but now also that you fell in love with the voices in your head
Poor walter seeing his adopted child start flirting with the voices XD
I'm glad they didn't do this because it'd get old pretty fast tinkering in the garage, but I like to imagine Ayre spends a lot of time cooing through parts catalogs when you're messing around with builds just to have something to do. "Raven! For only 10,000 more, this one has nearly twice as much ammunition capacity! Remember when we almost ran out on Grid 086? I just don't want you getting hurt."
"Raven, I think we should try using this bazooka. I like the explosions it makes."
honestly I could see this happening post-Alea
Getting close to S-ranking all the missions
I’ve been recording some of my favorite fights
Ayre pilots an AC one time in a simulation and then decides it would be really cool if everyone could be in an AC and that’s how we get her version of Coral Release
Armored Core: End of Evangelion
spent some time catching up on arena fights (i forgot about the D rank ones lmfao) and jesus christ
ring freddie got hit with a kiryu level "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it"
instant death by charged pile the second he got staggered
classic
i forgot he was made of actual paper
normal ammo expenditure with miniguns XD
half of the mission payout going striahgt into ammunition
i forgot ayre's just like
"we haven't had time without walter in a bit, take your time on this one :)"
on a date with the voice in my head in an abandoned haunted city <3
lammergeier torso remains the funniest thing to me
"yeah let's expose the pilot pod in the name of Aerodynamics"
oh i know, i just find it hilarious
schneider’s head of development must really love Going Fast
the fact that there are multiple Ayre date missions in the game is truly beautiful
built the lammergeier like the mech equivalent of an F1 car
yall just down bad for teh voices in your heads i see :p/j
the haunted city one is mostly just making the best of an opportunity to hang out, but there's also just one where she sends you to a spooky cave to check out some cool relics
she’s the best
a voice in my brain wouldn’t be the weirdest thing I’ve fallen for… but it’s probably in the top 20
i do not dare ask waht yuo would place at number one freind/lh
a voice in your head that happens to be a master hacker
Hot take, I know, but skills are attractive
the contents of that list are forever a secret to all but two people in my life
shoutout to arena o'keeffe for managing to pop his pulse armor a second after taking a pile bunker to 3/4 of his health bar
he almost had it
pvp moment
Just got Platinum on AC6
Congrats!
Now I gotta play something else I guess
If only there was a sort of roleplaying game that would satiate my desire for mech combat
From my favorite playthrough where I used a modified Loader 4
I rather like LOADER 4 a lot, so I used a slightly modified version of the starter AC, but with weapons that are still fit within the AC’s theme so as to not be overpowered.

R-Arm: DF-GA-08 HU-BEN Gatling Gun
L-Arm: HI-32: BU-TT/A Pulse Blade
R-Back: SB-033M MORLEY Spread Bazooka
L-Back: BML-G1/P20MLT-04 Missile ...
my solution was to switch back to the TIAN head (rip lammergeier head) for the time being
could I have solved it by using the pile bunker instead of the Lance? yeah
but the Lance is fun
(side note: my EN load was strict enough that the above situation happened simply because I had both Ducketts equipped plus the Lance and the light pincer launcher)
lammergeier head on firmeza core looks funny.
mech with no neck
Lammy head is fantastic for funky fashion
It even got the ipsn funny mono eye
lowkey I wanna detach it and use it as either a roomba or a frisbee
maybe both.
Goes real far when you throw it
Yeee, alba torso pluus lamm head is nice
Im not near my pc but kasuar legs + nachtreiter arms with alba torso and lamm head is the current AC i have and it looks rad as hell imho
I feel like I should make a tank some time
I tried to a tank only full playthrough and I stopped bc I wasn’t having fun
Oh I want it for seeing if I can uh
I've seen a wave of funny guys in ranked and I want to blow them up
Heavy dafeng core and usually some lightweight arms with handguns, sound chaser is getting very quickly stunned and then bagged with dual corals
I am wondering if I can make something that doesn't care about stun critical
Feel like a heavy energy weapon with high energy spec is the way to go for that
well, i feel Accomplished
last time i ever took a swing at the michigan mission I had to change up my entire build to stand a chance. not this time
did i run out of missiles halfway thru the michigan portion? yes
did me and my pistols finish the rest with 2 spare repairs? also yes
life lesson: no matter how fast you are, cel 240 is faster
took me less tries than the first go around though, so woo.
i forgot the container launcher existed
furlong: think fast chucklenuts launches an entire shipping container of missiles
i mean, those are both incredibly impressive but I was referring to the fact that my AC moves fast enough that I definitely put drugs in the combustion engine and CEL moves at twice that speed
Oh yeah no I picked up on that. I wasn’t sharing these as like a counterpoint or correction or anything I just think they’re fun clips hahaha
ah
those are fun clips. double melee is always fun even if I could never pull it off on anything mobile myself
side note I forgot that my relationship with the Laser Lance is actually a love hate relationship not just a love relationship
the tracking irks me on occasion and nowhere was it more noticeable than fighting CEL (and those Institute MTs on steroids to the right of the bridge)
it is still my beloved doom stab but. gah
I’m a lot heavier than I need to be in those clips fwiw. Literally don’t use the grenade launcher in the second run, and the armor is mostly for fashion
fashion core 😤
fashion is everything
these words ring true in all games but especially when you’re a three story tall mech with more funds than some governments
Speaking of which, what arms do you all think would look good with the Mind Beta head, Main Dish and Spring Chicken?
Tian-Qiang or VE-46A. commit to the chonk
me switching to laser dagger specifically so i can have cool moments for the rusty fight
"there's no way the corps took the closure system" like the PCA didn't get absolutely manhandled after the initial shock wore off
like i know it's ayre but still. arquebus was probably working on taking the thing
well
the ending of the sol fight was tense and dramatic
i had about 800 AP left and she went in for the melee
i popped a pulse armor in the hopes i'd get it off first to kill or stun her and just BARELY survived
(also still very funny to me that raven tries to outrun the Fires)
carla says that cause she knows that they didnt, at the start of the missions she says that they are trying to, but are nowhere near
also, PCA getting manhandle was half the fault of getting double teamed adn half our fault XD
its implied that they survive too which is fucking crazy XD
right?? like how tf you pull that one off girlie
still, it’s hilarious that they see the fires coming and just go
“oop. gotta go”
we did have a habit of killing all their important units and in general ruining their day.
still, arquebus did yoink all their stuff so I imagine the only thing stopping them is actually getting back to orbit without getting Blasted + hijacking the system’s AI
love how balam absolutely shot themselves in the foot though
“we wanna take the BIG THING”
“y- you don’t want all the- yeah. sure, that works. agreed (nobody tell them, O’Keeffe shut up stop snickering)”
arquebus slips Walter a couple hundred thousand COAM to not send balam a message that they can be even punchier if they yoink the PCA’s fancy tech
i think the satelites may be operated by the central system of the PCA rather then people or drone operating software like the autonomous devices(which arquebus didnt actually manage to take over either, they only managed to get weapons and manned craft || plus slugteus, tho thats implied to have been basicly reverse engineered rather then taken other the actuall belteus||
balam are idiots tho yea
the power of the ultra lightwieght, outruns the fucking cataclysm
