Eh, the only thing from Wrecker that's legitimately bad is the Arms, having THE worst Firearms and Melee Specialization stats in the game making them genuinely unusuable. Everything else about it can work well if you know how to play it right.

polar osprey
#

if you use the full set you can become invincible, like Rummy

modern hornet
#

Mad Stomp's half Wrecker half Tian-Qiang, though

cursive agate
#

RaD makes oddball specific parts, that may overspecialize

modern hornet
#

and not the good parts of either frame, at that. Wrecker Arms and Tian-Qiang Head? Not surprised in the least that the man is ranked dead last in the Arena.

Also yah it’s Honest Brute who uses the full wrecker set

actually I've used RAD frame parts on all of my first few mechs; Queen of Nails didn't run Wrecker, but the loader 4 head is RAD

An ongoing collection of me dunking on some of the AC6 bosses

I should also grab a better pic of the new-and-improved SLAPFIGHT

modern whale

I also went and took down Michigan

Third attempt

modern whale
#

Ibis will take some creativity I am finding

twin estuary
#

the saving grace with the ibis fight is that she has only a couple of patterns

#

she opens the same way every time and only has like like half a dozen patterns she switches between

#

so you just gotta run it back a few times until you find her tells and then you can start reading her

modern whale
#

True, I just need to pick a loadout that can dole out enough damage and can track or accurately land at mid/close range

#

I've tried running shotguns or pistols but getting close enough to really capitalize on them is a headache

twin estuary
#

you can make almost anything work but fast is good, biped legs or the wheelchair treads are solid

modern whale
#

I'm getting pretty good at KOing phase 1, phase 2's the one tripping me up

twin estuary
modern whale
#

That honestly might

#

As much as I love the pulse blade or Pile Driver, they aren't enough for this one

#

I might also need to invest in a mounted pulse shield

#

Give myself more openings to hit since she gets stationary or easy to hit during certain attacks that I can't exploit since I need to dodge

#

I've been running a C3 Melander with the spring chicken legs, cycling different weapon loadouts

#

It has enough speed to dodge most of what she throws at me to the point where I can get to the first phase 1 stagger chance with hardly any damage

#

Might change my thrusters since iirc I'm wearing a set that goes for verticality and I need better horizontal movement

#

And the legs let me jump

twin estuary
#

if you havent done it in a while it might be a good idea to go through the powerplants and thrusters you have and figure out which one gives the most # of qbs vs time between qbs vs recharge rate

cursive agate
#

I end up swapping to a long-mid FCS setup to deal with Ibis on heavier builds. You'll want a strong FCS to keep track (of Ibis in general)

modern whale
#

I usually stick to a mid/close FCS but I suspect I'm gonna need something more versatile or ranged

#

I did get the laser lance and am in love with the thing

#

(I also grabbed a pic of nailing Balteus)

#

Getting used to the lance via previous bosses so I can get a good feel of how it works with my build

patent oyster
modern whale
#

I think I got a general idea of how to approach it now

#

I'm not in a rush to get Ibis finished tonight

#

I cleared the arena and got through Michigan and the first Rusty fight today

#

So I feel I've done plenty, Ibis can wait till I've got a fresher pair of eyes

patent oyster
#

Ibis is mostly just waiting for openings

#

Ive seen someone beat it with nothing but headbuts (no weapons, kicks, or punches)

modern whale
#

That makes sense, I'm usually an impatient kind of player who muscles through an enemy's attacks to get them down

#

So it's a nice change of pace and challenge to play punching upwards again

patent oyster

#

Do we have stated design philosophies for the other companies like we have for Dafeng and Balem?

serene kettle
#

not in a catchy motto way, I think, but at least some Schneider parts clearly state they're a specialist in aerodynamic research

patent oyster
#

Schneider likes to go fast

#

Elcano likes stylish ACs

polar osprey
#

Elcano dripped the fuck out with their AC's

chrome bronze
#

They’ve got some of the lightest parts in the game

radiant birch
#

Schneider ACs are lightweights that bounce around, Elcano ACs are also lightweight but more grounded

#

Arquebus believes in overwhelming force via advanced technology

chrome bronze
#

I’d say Elcano is more defined by their parts being, bulkier then the average lightweights

serene kettle
#

yeah they definitely have specialties, but the question was about directly stated design philosophies

chrome bronze
#

Yah

#

Did kinda wish they all had their own little slogan

#

Because like, Balam and Dafeng parts do follow the design

#

It’s neat

#

Balam parts are extremely stat dense for their weights and Dafeng Parts do focus on a solid core and not much else

#

The Dafeng generators being amazing in terms of the base stats of a generator but struggling in more specialist stats like energy firearm spec

Cooked up this PVE hovertank build when making/optimizing a x2 Bazooka tetrapod build. Vertical movements throwing off AC6's targeting really helps with the low boost speed, and long QB reload.

  • JVLN Alpha for more damage output than Majestic, extra weight isn't a problem, less ammo doesn't matter in shorter missions/boss fights.
  • Shao-Wei instead of Huxley because I'm mostly firing in short bursts for pressure, or keeping Impact build-up running. (Swaps to G2 Dual Trueno missiles for PVP use, to snipe players trying to stay at long-range.)
  • VP-61PS shoulder shield offsets the long QB reload (1.78), and NGI 000 generator full-empty delay.

Oh my goddess someone made a TTRPG like Old-gen Armored Core xjdjnff
Or iunno, still watching it

Project Metallurgent by Proving Ground Publishing is a mecha ttrpg/wargame heavily inspired by the Armored Core series, set in an alternative history where the cold war directed mankind to space, tension wound up despite the peace and prosperity, and when the Y2K incident struck, mankind found itself in a state of war against each other in the m...

Hard to imagine a better armored core ttrpg than lancer imo

surreal tundra
radiant birch
#

Honestly, having watched the overview, I think Metallurgent replicates the nitty-gritty of AC building much more closely than Lancer does

#

Which isn't to say that it's better--i think Lancer's comparatively streamlined play experience is going to be preferable for people who don't want an extremely granular gameplay

#

But I can see this one bringing something to the table as well

#

Like if you're the type to spend hours and hours tuning your AC build in the garage, or if you're a hopeless Battletech tabletop enthusiast, this game seems like it'll scratch those itches real well

polar osprey
#

need to hop on AC6 for a bit and just play with nice controls

serene kettle
#

Idiosyncratic

polar osprey
#

too much for me to keep track of

#

i keep forgetting some part

#

like i'm trying to move the camera and forget to strafe

#

or i try to strafe and shoot but i press the wrong button and switch my weapon or smthn

#

with ac6 i just need to

#

move with left joystick, control Camera when necessary with right, and keep track of my repair and my weapon buttons

#

lock on also takes off the difficulty of camera whenever i'm in combat, and when i'm not i only need to really worry about the camera and not the weapon buttons

radiant birch
#

I feel like it says something that it took From... what, four PS2 games before they let go of the PS1 control setup?

polar osprey
#

also just, using the shoulder and bumper buttons to actually fucking use the weapons

#

instead of having a button each to shoot with and then a button to swap between main weapon and shoulders

#

also lets me actually use the shoulder stuff as auxiliary equipment

#

instead of needing to put something which can act like a main weapon on cause otherwise when i stap to the shoulder i'm momentarily crippled damage wise

serene kettle
#

Mind you, I'm a broken person who is just used to the old school setup, even if I understand objectively it's deranged lol

polar osprey
#

also in AC3 main wep and both shoulders are on the same swap 💀

#

so you have to like, quickswap between them like you're swapping a spell in ER or DS

serene kettle
#

though honestly when I replayed AC3 I did it on an emulator and being able to assign things wherever you want on a keyboard does make life easier

polar osprey
#

i'm using a controller so

serene kettle
#

still not as easy as mouselook, but easier

#

if nothing else you can make WASD make sense and use IJKL or something to look around

#

instead of the full tank control scenario where you have half the look controls near half the movement controls and the other half of the look controls near the strafe controls

polar osprey
#

default settings had up and down on d-pad as forwards and backwards and the bumpers for strafe

#

then left to right on d-pad for camera and the triggers as up and down iirc

#

which is

#

one of the control schemes of all time

serene kettle
#

yeah that's what I mean

#

the up/down look is paired with side-to-side movement and the right/left look is paired with forward/back movement

eager vector
#

@polar osprey if you can learn to bunny hop and use flight to help manage vertical target acquisition it’s smoother

i had a real hard time with that mission my first time around... actually i don't think i got past it, i gave up and did the other one

then my second time around i went in a lightweight build with double vert plasma missiles and double laser handguns and surprised myself by dancing through it with barely a scratch

Tried cooking up a more interesting midweight build for AC6 PVP use, swapped to Biped after not getting the results/weight capacity I wanted with Lammergeier/VP-424 quad legs. May see further adjustments (*swapped arms to Nachtreiher for small AP/Defense trade, *swapped Booster to Flugel for better EN costs), though the build is already pushing limits to fit everything.

radiant birch
#

Intriguing. I've used the Harris + Javelin Alpha arms combo before. I have a little bit of trouble tagging people with the Harris but overall I think it's solid

#

I think my version had the dual homing missiles + Javelin Beta on the shoulders and a lighter core. It was more of a midweight kite build

cursive agate
#

Using Harris for tapfire/charged shot flexibility, the high velocity charged shot seems to trip up players at mid-long range compared to Bazooka travel time.

radiant birch
#

Is the Huxley there to punish players who try to rush you down? Or do you plan on getting in close with this build?

cursive agate
#

Huxley is mostly anti-rushdown, though also helps with stagger buildup facing builds that aren't close-ranged.

radiant birch
#

I never thought of using it like that before, interesting 👀

cursive agate
#

Got a few C rank matches in, Huxley off cooldown is my cue to play more aggressively against non close-range. NGI 001 boost speed is really nice for controlling distance combined with floor-hopping to break FCS lock.

#

Swapped to Nacht arms from Firmeza after realizing how little AP/Defense it gives up for more Firearm Spec.

radiant birch
#

And they handle the recoil okay?

cursive agate
#

Ah, forgot about that part, though it seems manageable with the limited magazine of Harris, will need to check later

radiant birch

meta this

radiant birch
#

wasn't sure what to expect from it, but my test match (against an opponent running RJ vientos + songbird + oscillator) turned out well and was a lot of fun

#

i think what i like about the quad legs is that it makes it a little more viable to take snapshots with the Javelin Alpha when you think you have an opening

#

ditto charged shots with the Harris, although i didn't actually try that in this match

cursive agate
#

Noice, I've mostly used charged Harris as a follow-up for stagger breaks I see coming, charging/holding while firing Javelin Alpha, or missiles + Huxley near break.

radiant birch
#

yeah, i think charged LR shots are good for stagger breaks since they have huge burst impact

#

but i've still got to get a sense for when i can get one off, especially since the Harris overheats after a charge

#

i have another Lamm build that uses dual Curtises, maybe i can play around a bit with that since they don't overheat so i've got a bit more leeway

cursive agate
#

Hoping that goes well, I've tried using Curtis more but the charged shot feels underwhelming against heavier builds because of low Accumulative Impact.

radiant birch
#

yeah, i like dual-triggering it because you can build up impact with rapid-fire normal shots and then push them over the top with a charged shot

#

^ i haven't tested this build out yet, but it's a lighter version of a heavy build that i've had some success with:

radiant birch
#

hello friends i am here to tell you that tank ACs have Too Much Fucking AP

five rounds against a heavy tank, managed to with the AP race once

but i performed adequately enough that i'm satisfied, i think this build's a keeper

cursive agate
#

I'm quite baffled that heavy tank legs didn't lose more AP from nerfs, and hovertank didn't lose any AP at all.

#

Though hovertank is at least offset by mid stability for it's weight, massive hitbox, and poor boost speed.

wallclimber in particular is one of the missions where you get bonus pay for every kill so it can be worth it to spend a few extra seconds cleaning up trash mobs, depending on your route

#

and if you're rank hunting, I assume you probably know this but just doing due diligence, you can't use any checkpoints or your rank is capped at A

actually maybe lower? I haven't done testing on this. You can't get an S-rank without having done the mission from the beginning, though.

serene kettle

Things you do in replay mission mode will not impact the plot of your current playthrough

glad sierra
#

ok, swag. good to know. thank you

eager vector
#

What loadouts should I use on a tank-only playthrough

#

I did laser lance and pilebunker RJ for my first playthrough, and haldeman+LCS lamm quad for my second

modern hornet
#

Depends, do you want to be a wheelchair, a fighter jet, or a rolling fortress?

eager vector
#

I’m gonna be swapping between different tanks depending on the situation

polar osprey
#

use something that benefits from the fact that stopping to fire a weapon is no longer a problem

modern hornet
#

The Fortaleza and Bornemissza legs have relatively identical movement characteristics and ground-centric playstyles - one's just a lot lighter and much faster while the other is for when you just want to be a roving fortress that bulldozes literally everything in your path. Ploat Legs love taking advantage of verticality thanks to their above average ability to stay in the air, so would definitely recommend Grenades and similar high-explosive ordnance with that one.

#

Having tactical eurobeats playing the background is not mandatory, but could help you get in the mood to drift and swerve your way to victory.

eager vector
#

Do you generally pair your grenade launchers with stagger builders or stagger punishers?

modern hornet
#

Depends on the exact loadout, I think. I've admittedly never used grenades too much, myself, but I have seen vids of them being used for both functions, particularly the Earshot grenade cannon and Morley spread bazooka.

#

Their accuracy is definitely more consistent if you abuse verticality, though. A grounded enemy is a lot easier to hit with grenades thanks to the splash damage than an airborne one.

radiant birch
#

yeah, earshot shots from above are nasty

#

though i think their ammo is a bit limited/expensive for PVE to rely on consistently

#

overall though i'd agree with Freyja, find a back weapon that you like and abuse the fact that you can fire it on the move

modern hornet
#

Don't even need to limit yourself there. Tank treads can fire any Firing Stance weapon (Bazookas, Grenades, Laser Cannons, charged Linear Rifles, etc) on the move

wooden nimbus
#

Imagine if you could have four flamethrowers

modern hornet
#

Even just a single BAD COOK is enough to, well, cook your way through just about anything you could encounter on Rubicon.

wooden nimbus
#

True

#

I just like overkill

modern hornet
#

There is no overkill. There is only "open fire" and "reload"

wooden nimbus
#

I use one to mimic a fusion collider on my "definitely not a tau battlesuit"

#

Sadly there's not a way to do the funny cloak or we'd be ghostkeel gaming

wooden nimbus
#

Holy shit

radiant birch
#

okay @patent oyster i've got two builds i want to offer up, presented in order of the interest i have in seeing you play them

#

first build: ULTRAVIOLET. laser-centric, one of the results of my experimenting to see if i could build an AC not reliant on the stagger > punish loop (although it absolutely can stagger thanks to the RJ kick and assault armor)

#

second build: VECTOR. much more conventional, i think the combat loop is pretty obvious just from looking at the loadout, but it's good solid fun. i took out Iguazu + Volta in this version of the build

patent oyster
#

Ill give em a try!

patent oyster
# radiant birch

This one is pretty similar to the zimmlance i featured in episode 11

radiant birch
#

Yeah I'm not surprised, it's a pretty straightforward strat

radiant birch
#

ULTRAVIOLET is the one i'd be more interested in anyway. i only tossed VECTOR in because i noticed it while looking through my builds and tweaking UV's paintjobs

wooden nimbus
#

That's very cool

#

Though it makes me wish there was an ACVD movement mod ngl

#

I miss ACV/D so much

#

I don't know how they would detect you being next to a wall though

serene kettle
#

Probably wouldn't be that hard. the animations for walljumping might be more work though

#

I don't really see what's so NEXT-like about the movement here though, it all seems basically in line with AC6's normal movement (aside from the infinite energy, which is also normal for this mission)

#

the borderless is very cool though. It always seemed a little like robbery that you get this awesome fight with infinite energy and flight and you're stuck in a tiny box on a mostly flat open area

wooden nimbus
#

I thought I noticed some reduced recovery times and larger cancel windows on the melee but I might be overthinking.

serene kettle
#

yeah there might be some frame differences, but I mean that it looks fundamentally like an AC6 fight and not the insane bullshit NEXTs do

river junco
#

that person isn't using the mod to it's fullest extent

#

you can like

#

chaindash and shit

and they just aren't

wooden nimbus

#

I have also made a fun video of a fight I had with the person who did it

#

I have literally never seen it in action before and you can see I have no idea what I'm dealing with

#

(He is compiling and compressing)

cursive agate

#

i think this is my fav version of the song

wooden nimbus
#

I have another video ready dang

#

Two close fights in one night

eager vector
patent oyster
#

The issue with that fight is if you're too aggressive, steel haze ortus goes down too quickly

#

Honestly this applies to most AC fights

#

If you wanna actually let the dialogue play out and make a cinematic video, you have to intentionally play worse

polar osprey
wooden nimbus
#

I wish there was more opportunities for multiple phases, they give us three repair kits for a reason

cursive agate
#

burst damage potential really affects how long fights last too

wooden nimbus
#

Yeah

#

One of the things I like about tempest protocol is that it doesn't really have a "delete AP" button

#

You can combo into a lot of damage but I'm pretty much required to have longer fights with it

patent oyster
wooden nimbus
#

I like that PVP fights are best of 3 because I can easily get a 3+ minute video if we go 2-1

#

Double points if both of us are using spectacle builds instead of Stagger into OHKO stuff

#

Also having the full Xylem as a map would be cool for like a larger team mode fight with control points to hold or something similar

river junco
#

Also fun fact; appearently despite the xylem’s city section being collision meshed for Rusty’s fight, it isn’t for Walter’s

polar osprey
#

huh...

river junco
#

I think it’s because it’s a different model since it has so much shit happen during that fight + they needed to add the engine blocks as targetables

#

Also

#

I’ve never thought about it before but uh

#

I know Rubicon is REALLY big but…. The xylem crashing back down from orbit seems like it would

Damn AC6 II is really going in a different direction than I expected

wooden nimbus
#

To be fair, and I only say this because I've got no idea what the other thing is actually referencing and I just see anime characters, if AC added Persona style anime VN segments between missions I wouldn't be offended by it

#

Let me talk to different faction people to influence how the plot goes damn

serene kettle
#

I think that would actually seriously hurt the vibe AC is going for. Not showing you actual people is part of the point, the sense of isolation is very deliberate. You still get segments of dialogue as the plot unfolds, but it's always through unseen messengers.

Doesn't Daemon x Machina do exactly that

wooden nimbus

Yeah, kind of. DXM2 might gimme a bit of that

#

I just like the idea of interacting with people with a medium other than combat tbh

radiant birch

You could still have the VN sections with faceless voices

#

It'd basically be like if AC6's between-mission cutscenes were interactable

Or even like, have a selection of replies to a recorded message. Idk

Huh. I don’t think I’ve heard this version of Stain

cursive agate

Many buffs to parts/weapons, and a pretty big hike to Melee Spec on arms (less of a gulf between Basho, and all other arms)

There's been nerfs to especially meta parts in some cases, but many buffs to make other options more appealing too.

radiant birch
#

best change already 😛

#

the increase to emptying of the charge gauge on the laser shotgun + handgun is an interesting change. i wonder if that'll fix the issue i've had with the laser handguns where rapid-firing them on maxed energy weapon spec tended to accidentally fire a charged shot

radiant birch
#

okay, i tested it bc i was curious, and while it is still annoyingly easy to accidentally fire a charge shot using the laser handguns on the VE-20B, it is much less likely to happen while repeatedly tapping the fire button. so that's neat!

Okay so whatever they did to Shao Wei I actually get two more rounds out of firing it per burst

patent oyster
#

Huh gridwalker feels better

wooden nimbus
#

Tempest Protocol feels almost unchanged

polar osprey
#

trying out Etsujins and Chang Chens on Freud and i think Etsujins might still be the better fit

#

yeaaaah i think i'm going to stick with Etsujin

wooden nimbus
#

I might swap my booster depending on things

polar osprey
#

Ruber is sitting in the perfect sweet spot for Fluegel so i think it'll be fine to keep things the same

wooden nimbus
#

There are definitely things that look like they make my numbers more blue but also feel wrong in play though

polar osprey
#

yeah

#

chang chen got buff, etsujin got nerf, but etsujin still feels better for the build

#

spring chicken is statistically just superior to mind beta, but i have to sacrifice that snappy speediness that i like

#

stuff like this is why it's important to try shit out

wooden nimbus
#

I should try chicken

polar osprey
#

do it

wooden nimbus
#

So far purely in test AC fights Chunky Tempest (Spring Chicken Legs and Melander C3 Arms) feels like it's pretty solid

#

It also looks fucking crisp

polar osprey
#

does look hella crisp

wooden nimbus
#

Look at his shoes

polar osprey
#

got them jays

wooden nimbus
#

I'll do a Nightfall test since we like bullying there

#

Oh I definitely need to adjust boosters to the new weight

radiant birch
#

i threw together a new build while looking at some of the updated stats this morning

polar osprey
#

looks fun

radiant birch
#

i don't know how good it is overall but there's something entertaining about managing to get 10.6k AP on 59k weight

#

it did at least shred Freud in the arena, which is my version of bullying Nightfall to test new builds

wooden nimbus
#

Testing says I miss my mobility more than I like my big shoes

radiant birch
#

gotta go fast

#

it's important

polar osprey
#

yeah that was my problem also

#

fast better than some upgraded stats

wooden nimbus
#

I do wanna try the melander c3 arms on the default tempest tho

#

I can't tell if Nightfall has hands now or what

#

I think he just knows how to use his songbirds now

#

If they quietly made the AI more aggressive I'll be happy

#

It feels it but I might just be a bit slow on reflex because eepy

serene kettle
#

I remember Nightfall's Songbirds being terrifyingly accurate when I first fought them, before I got gud

wooden nimbus
#

I don't remember getting tagged by them this much (still won but)

patent oyster
radiant birch
#

oops oops new build oops

#

tweaked the frame from upthread to be a little more of a generalist and less aggressively focused on dueling

#

still got the combo of speed and staying power

#

the scudder + duckett combo feels really nice. fighting Freud i had a nice loop of empty scudder > empty duckett while scudder reloads > empty scudder into a now probably staggered LOCKSMITH

#

duckett's got a real nice kick now

patent oyster
radiant birch
#

well i did give it a serial number of RR107 in honor of patch 1.07, so that fits well

cursive agate
#

FCS “FC-006 ABBOT”
increased Close-Range Assist / Medium-Range Assist

patent oyster

Itll be interesting to face upgraded nightfall

wooden nimbus

excellent, Nightfall deserves to have hands

patent oyster

im finally free from this purgatory of my own making

wooden nimbus

patent oyster

that intro sequence and the intermissions at 1:17 and 2:48 took so long

wooden nimbus
#

I bet

#

In other news the TP/MkII STORM CHASER will be tested a bit more soon, prototypes have won some ranked fights but I wanna adjust it more after work/post-work Friday in California shenanigans

#

Tldr "what if tempest protocol was faster, blue, and had a laser blade"

radiant birch
#

I like the sound of this

#

I still gotta check out the laser blade. It got increased overall cooling, right?

#

Maybe wanna build something around it, or replace the pulse blade on CELESTIAL VISITOR

wooden nimbus
#

I'm gonna probably use alba core (tuna) and either nacht or the light RJ

#

Those ones have been handy so far

#

But I'm tweaking the head and arms still

#

With Chang Chen being lower recoil I'm taking that

scarlet pagoda
#

Any update to quads or snail parts ?

scarlet pagoda
wooden nimbus
#

Yes you

#

Also I didn't recall seeing changes to them in 1.07

#

TETRAPOD “LAMMERGEIER/42F”

・decreased Attitude Stability

・Reduced max movement speed while hovering

TANK “EL-TL-11 FORTALEZA”

・increased AP / AB Thrust

#

I see these

scarlet pagoda
#

So

#

My build got completely missed lol

#

I miss heavy bipeds sadcowboy

radiant birch
#

Do you mean snail parts as in V.II?

#

Bc iirc the head got buffed and the legs got nerfed

#

HEAD “VE-44A” - increased Attitude Stability / System Recovery
BIPEDAL “VE-42A” - decreased AP / Anti-Kinetic Defense / Anti-Energy Defense / Anti-Explosive Defense

I was gonna chang chen but the laser shotgun is just

I love it

laser shotguns rock yeah

getting an AOE projectile on a charged shot is just pacha

radiant birch
#

i have to hand it to your opponent, that was a pretty impressive reversal in the first round. i thought you had them for sure.

wooden nimbus
#

Yeah it completely sent me into a panic

#

They did super good

#

Like I spent 80% of round 2 not sure what to do

#

Sometimes I wish you could send a "hey you were really fun" in ranked

radiant birch

it would be nice

patent oyster

south oracle
#

oh, patch

radiant birch
#

useful overview

#

sounds like there were a couple patch note mistranslations; the Shao-Wei actually got buffed instead of nerfed, and vice versa for the VP-61PS shield

cursive agate
#

Very good to hear, was quite baffled by what the patch notes mentioned at points.

patent oyster
#

Am cooking again

radiant birch
#

does the explosive thrower scale with melee specialization?

patent oyster
#

It does not

#

Basho is just purely there for AP and a low EN+weight load

#

(And laser blade ofc)

patent oyster
#

^

#

Might go back and redo the decals

radiant birch
#

tinkering around with a new PVP build

#

did a couple test matches in ranked, got completely slaughtered by a duckett + oscillator build in my first match but won handily against a dual duckett + laser sword build in my second match

#

(albeit i almost lost the first round of the latter bc i thought i had the shotgun equipped when i actually had moonlight on)

#

the laser shotgun is kinda wild. charges super quick on the VE-20C, and cools so fast that i had a couple moments of "oops, forgot to swap to Moonlight... oh, it's already done cooling off, awesome"

build projects still in the back pocket:

  • see if i can get a build to work around the Harris + Javelin Alpha combo
  • see if i can make a build around the Coral rifle (esp. with the buffs in the last patch)
  • mess around with the KRSV changes in PVP
modern whale

Well, I'm going all in on Ibis again, just fine-tuning a stun needle build to fuck it up nice and proper

eager vector
modern whale

haven't looked at many videos, I probably will (don't worry it hasn't taken me months to beat Ibis I just got sidetracked with other games for a couple months)

Oh hell yeah 🙏

#

No kidding it's satisfying as hell oml

#

Lance/pb definitely helps cover the two's individual shortcomings holy hell

radiant birch
#

watching Duckett vs Duckett PVP videos is weirdly entrancing

#

it really is like watching some kind of high-speed dance

modern whale
#

Also

#

is it bad of me to practice new weapon tricks like lance/pb switching on the Dafeng pilot?

#

I S-ranked him ages ago, I just do it for his dialogue at this point

deft bridge
#

no, but you will regret your words and actions when punished consort dafeng pilot returns in the DLC

eager vector
#

any ideas for a novel and fun PvE loadout I should try?

So far I’ve done

  1. lance+pb+zimm
  2. haldies+LCS
  3. v20b LH+auroras
  4. missile boat
#

I’ve used 760PR a lot as well

#

I’ve struggled with coming up with loadouts that need a heavy frame to work and that feel good for me to use- I’ve p much only used mid to lightweight frames, other than my first spring chicken build

radiant birch
#

i haven't fully tested this build in PVE but i've wiped Freud with it in the arena so it should be okay

eager vector
#

I’ve never felt like shields have clicked for me

radiant birch
#

i find the key for shields is to use them with a left arm weapon that takes a while to reload, or that you use situationally

eager vector
#

Gotcha. what’s the game plan with this?

radiant birch
#

largely, pepper the opponent(s) with the LR and missiles until ACS break, then punish with bazooka. shield covers you while you're not firing the bazooka

#

but don't be afraid to take potshots with the bazooka either, they can be quite rewarding if you get the timing right

#

and the benefit of the quad legs is that you can fire charged LR shots and bazooka shots without stopping

#

the Harris has good DHA too so it's your backup punish if the opponent staggers while the bazooka's reloading

stone jolt

Anybody still playing this or getting a second wind for it?

there's a few of us still sticking around, yeah

send it

I can take some screens of Tempest Protocol later but there's some up in the chat media somewhere

Starting off with the basics, A friend of mine asked me why I didn't have a Heavyarms. I told him that everyone does that. Online, everybody is using a mockup.of Heavyarms or Eva Unit 01.

Then I gave in.

These are a pair of my Star Wars inspired ones (I have many). I will try to get better shots of some fine details later, but there are decals of aurebesh text all over.

#

The T-65 x-wing canopy and the TIE-Interceptor viewport both have little dudes in them, but the TIE viewport has more detail no one will ever see than I have put into a signal decal.

#

I decalled up my Loader 4 and changed the weapons and internals. I accidentally then saved over it, but I have most of the work done, such as making the decals.

#

I'll update later as I put them back.

wooden nimbus
#

These are so cool

stone jolt
#

Inspired by the Death Egg 1 from Sonic the Hedgehog. The garage is not the best place to photograph some of the details on this one.

#

Inspired by a show I watched when I was little and a show that some of clients often watch now. I work with developmentally disabled adults.

#

In team matches, people have learned to fear this one. They either gang up or stay out of its way. Crazy that the international version of the game doesn't offer Japanese text support for its image editor. I had to fake it so hard.

#

I usually use the data field to make note of things like what it's for and when you can first built it (ie. "Hvy PVP, Post NG++ Cel240")

This one is titled "PeaceNeverAnOption" and the data field just reads "SoUHaveChosenDeath"
