#Armored Core General!
1 messages · Page 22 of 1
||It also has White Glint's "turn into a plane" functionality, though only uses it in the Raid Boss Variant and in the opening cutscene||
||honestly White Glint's understated transformation and general design makes it maybe my favourite mech design in fiction||
||it conveys a sense of jetlike power and speed so goddamn well||
Meanwhile AC6's big white glint reference is definitely ||the final boss version of Ayre||, though in a looser fashion
||IBIS SOL|| is a baller design, though idk how much of a White Glint reference I interpret it as
it's mixing references, since it's also drawing from Silent Line's ||I-C003-IN "Big White" units||
ah fair, still got to get around to Silent Line
but yeah John Fromsoftware give me back my God Machines
Silent Line is a really good underappreciated entry
i still need to get through AC4
It's a ||two-handed cannon, here's a much blurrier image from a different angle||
oh damn
that's sick
see i would also like some more fucking weapon variety for a new AC game
we did the kiddy shit with AC6, everyone got nice and comfortable with Armored Core
now bring back the insane customization shit
let me put stabilizers on my mech and have like 4 fucking boosters
give me back tuning also
nobody needs to just unlock everything at once, let me customize that shit on an at will basis so i can further min-max my builds
as a sidenote the ||"Big White" units work for IBIS, the AI masterminding the plot of AC:SL||. The IBIS series in general is almost definitely a reference to that.
The fight with CEL 240 in particular is rather reminiscent of AC:SL's final boss, though with much more aerial movement and a somewhat different design
For reference (silent line spoilers)||https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egi9EzqKbjY||
Me using Scar to take on IBIS in the final mission of Silent Line.
now that I look at it again, the Ephemera parts might also be a reference to this boss design
this UI slaps
yeah this is basically how oldgen UI looks across the board
it's very nostalgic to me
lol
i really enjoy the lock on square
actually showing where the area you want to keep the enemy inside of to shoot is
oh yeah the fun part about that is the shape and size of the square is a function of your FCS
much better than flying around in ACFA waiting for a fucking lock to happen
different FCS will have different squares
there are "sniper" squares with a really long lock range but a relatively tiny square, and also wide and shallow squares that cover most of the screen
you get a good idea of how you need to move and control your AC to function with the parts you have picked
and lots of middle ground options, or ones that are tuned toward missile builds with faster lock speeds and increased maximum missile locks
it's a nuance that has been lost over the years in favor of a more standardized approach
yeah
i get why they would do it
but i also would love to have more granular gameplay like that
like
let me get *really * into the nitty gritty of building my AC
yeah when I played AC1 as a kid I just assumed the most expensive FCS was the best one and got that
it wasn't a good fit for my build tho lol
(it's one of the aforementioned "narrow and deep" ones with a really small box and long range)
I mean there is a lockbox in ACFA to be fair; it's an invisible one the size of your screen
me when the enemy is clearly on my screen, i am turning to look at them, and my FCS is doing absolutely nothing even though i specifically picked the one that would let me lock fastest at the best ranges
tbf i'm also dogshit at keeping enemies in the camera cause they are so fucking fast but still, i do like the look of older games and the more, specific game design
ACFA does a weird thing in that it does have pseudo hard lock, but it doesn't really tell you
AC:PP's arena is beating me like a drum
everyone past a certain rank hits so hard against lightweights and I need to learn to dodge better ;-;
yeah at some point they start just being H+ cheatyface jerks
simply becom H+ yourself
not actually an option in Project Phantasma
except by importing a H+ savefile from AC1
H+ benefits also generally feel silly imo
I don't think I'd be happier with no kneeling on back weapons or 3k AP damage blade beams
it's a skill issue on my part for sure
😔
I actually beat nineball in AC1 in that horrible vertical shaft with a kneeling weapon and I deserve a damn medal 😛
oh shit, Vaati dropped the 5hr 30min AC6 video

Dear God that's a lot
From what ive heard its mostly a cinematic recap
🤔 ACVD movement on a large open map with Chromehounds style COMBAS/grid map stuff
Give em the city complexes around everything interesting and a couple exposed places you don't wanna get caught in
That would be so hype
If Invincible Rummy got a coral upgrade could we call him Redrum?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aY_ZRyzt-U her transition went great
This is how to beat Shamir RaviRavi (Red Rum) in Armored Core: For Answer
https://www.twitch.tv/arcaneviva
#ArmoredCoreForAnswer #ArmoredCore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OXCChRZVDI it's worth listening to her voice acting if you're unfamiliar. She's a delightful scenery chewer.
Armored Core For Answer
Chapter 3
Defeat Red Rum and Starka
S Rank
it's a bit of an infamous one
My slow as fuck no turn speed having ass got absolutely obliterated by their speed and my lack of map
Thanks all to the nasty double team, inclement weather, and all the people horny for Shamir Raviravi
Literally just couldn't keep up with both of those NEXT's since i could barely see them half the time
Oh Jesus I forgot about that
Ur officially cooler than vaati
The note about radar unit in the briefing seems very important, with the fog acting at 43.0 ECM.

i'm gonna watch it whenever i have time
Project Phantasma complete
it's a weird game; enjoyable but there are a bunch of polish issues that stop me liking it as much as AC1
the plot also feels kinda 'nothing'
A few missions to 100% it then onto MoA
UwU
and she might be sorta sober at that point! zxmcncvxv
You mean the deep and complex motives of the Doomsday Organization don’t do it for you? 😛
Actually playing Phantasma after AC6 is probably interesting at least to see Stinger as a proto-Iguazu
...yeahhhhhh
a little, yeah; the merger into the disco crab was a little less climactic though I will admit

PP has its flaws but Grip is a banger and it’s still Armored Core so I’ll forgive a lot lol

This one
Those are good choices
I’m really partial to high fever and servizio
And Shape Memory Alloys, obviously
Shape Memory Alloys the eternal banger
It’s really telling that it somehow doesn’t get old playing in every menu
And blaring, even
Background ambience this is not
AC6’s barely there garage music is cowardly 😛
idk if I'd go that far; Hearing Things is a cool meditative track that's a solid tone setter
it's not as much of a banger as Shape Memory Alloys or Set the Sunset, but I still think it works well at what it's trying to do
I think Hearing Things is seared into my audio memory from the hours on end I spent messing around in the garage
Idk I don't have a point of comparison since I haven't really played an AC game aside from 6 (bouncing off of AC2 fifteen years ago doesn't count), but I agree with Spheal, the AC6 garage music is a very effective chill-yet-melancholy "downtime between combats" vibe
for what it's worth I do agree AC6's soundtrack can be a little muted for its own good because it's trying to be brutal, oppressive and harsh
I kind of wish they had gone in even more with a sharp and alien kind of sound design
even then we still got a good stable of bangers, especially in the OST 3rd disk
I didn’t say it was bad, just cowardly 😛
Soft or somber can work, i have a soft spot for Lament over the Howling Age
(Okay soft is a stretch there it def has a little grind to it)
Idk if I love the word cowardly, since I'm not in the business of being mean to creators. I'd have said just letting Kota rock out with his cock out again would have been a safer bet and played to the fans, so it was a bold choice to not do that
and to my knowledge there's no evidence to suggest that management was holding Kota back from doing his usual
I mean, fair enough
Making games is hard, and I'm more than a little jaded to a lot of fans conspiracy dumping on decisions they don't like. Not to imply that was what you were doing necessarily
Someone is Always Moving On the Surface is so permanently scorched into my head
Someone is Always Moving on the Surface is beautiful
absolutely one of my favourite tunes in the franchise
fr
it does not stick out in my mind at all
Yeah I'm absolutely not introducing a conspiracy. I just think AC6's soundtrack went in a different direction and not all of it worked for me. Cowardly may not be the right word to express what I mean, though I was only ever using it in a tongue-in-cheek sense and not aggressively telling everyone that Kota Hoshino is a coward, because that's not what I mean at all.
for sure!
It did come off that you were being tongue in cheek
I think it just rankled a bit even as a joke because there's so many people who would say the same thing fully in earnest
Which is not your fault at all
Just. Idk.
There's definitely nothing wrong with a different direction. AC4/4A had a different direction from previous games and ACV/VD had another significant shift. But I really like those soundtracks, whereas AC6's has a few standouts but mostly leaves little impression on me
a lot of the boss themes in particular rule
but the level tracks feel, for the most part, just kind of there. They're too understated for their own good a lot of the time
yeah I definitely am a bit sensitive to it considering the time I spent in the Armored Corecord consisted of 5th gen players being violently angry about anything that wasn't 5th or oldgen
Ah yeah that's definitely a bit of old fandom war
a lot of the next-gen people onboarded with 4th Gen and didn't like 5th gen at all and were vocal capital G Gamers about it, and there are still scars
Like, guys your entire franchise is cool! I wanna play more 5th gen! Being bitter doesn't fix much of anything
been around for other debates like that such as SSBM vs Sm4sh/Ult/Brawl, Battlezone 1 vs 2, etc and it never gets any less petty and tiring
yeah that sounds about right
The worst enemy of gamers: Gamers
I'll agree it should have just gone in more
it's much more like the noise of the world around you than the very clear musical stuff that we got in other games
Offhand, the ones I'll point out as very cool: I like Rough and Decent (obviously), Unbreakable, and I have a soft spot for Clockwork Hostility due to its cool use as a leitmotif through multiple playthroughs building up to the NG++ end
for level themes specifically
which also is the reason why i actually kinda
I'd have loved a lot more of the soundtrack to have had the combination of crunch and melody that Rough and Decent (bad joke) had
Clockwork Hostility represents something hidden and lurking, so being a bit hidden and lurking itself actually feels on-tone.
don't like the Rough and Decent remix or the Steel Haze remix from the extra track
I really like Where Truths Meet fwiw
i think they are conterintuitive
not as much on the Rough and Decent one though I will agree
they add stuff that works against what was already there
and it kinda just diminished both the original song bits and the new ones
My favorite version of Rough and Decent is the one without any parenthetical text, which is why I was treating it as a level theme rather than a boss theme since it's used in an NG+ only level
Rough and Decent is more of a character theme imo but tbh that just means I'd love to have seen more character themes lmao
Guilty Gear us up in this
yeah you're not wrong
arguably unbreakable might be considered a boss theme too but calling Sulla a boss feels disingenuous right before Balteus
the piano on Rough and Decent (Bad Joke) is just so insanely good that i can't not love that version more
Previous games had arena opponents that only appeared in the arena, right?
Yes
first time i heard it my mind was blown
it goes so hard
which is also why i don't like Rough and Decent (Natural Behaviour) all that much
yeah not a fan of it either
it takes out all of the like, crisp sounds that Bad Joke has
and it kinda just, has too much going on
another track I wish were in the main game is Cinders
I can easily hear that being a character theme
like they do the piano section as a guitar riff
and it does not hit the same
it just doesn't
Kota just doin his thing, sometimes it's a bit too wild lol
sorry to any Rough and Decent (Natural Behaviour) fans but the piano riff is just so much more fucking sharp and powerful

they absolutely steal the show
whereas the guitar almost gets lost in the sauce a bit
I think I'm pretty basic when it comes to the OST appreciation
ans Steel Haze (Where Truths Meet) is just
weird to me
cause Steel Haze (Rusted Pride) is a very fucking melancholy and depressing song
Aside from the garage themes arriving in my mind just bc of how much I listened to them, the tracks that stick out to me are the ones everyone likes
and in (Where Truths Meet) they just fucking slap the like, energetic drums and guitar over it
Contact With You, Steel Haze (Rusted Pride), Allmind...
4 The Answer (For The Mission) goes fucking hard though
ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON Original Soundtrack Disk 3
Track 12: 4 The Answer (For The Mission)
Composition: Kota Hoshino
Arrangement: Takashi Onodera
only got like 8 more games to play before I finally get back to 4th gen
mfw someone hints at Armored Core For Answer existing (my hype is immeasurable, just like my speed)
Throwing in a For Answer remix on the AC6 soundtrack (albeit a bonus disc) is definitely a funny move
Why not, right? It's not like the final boss theme of verdict day wasn't one
there's also a bit of Someone is always moving on the surface in the song
which is cool
Definitely gonna play 4th Gen! ...just as soon as I finish Elden Ring + Shadow of the Erdtree, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls 1 and 2
at 1:51 you can barely hear the first few notes of Someone is always moving
full disclosure I haven't actually listened to the bonus disk
it seems like the OST releases are treated like collectible things for Japanese games, so it makes sense they have the exclusive remix disk
This is a banger tho
i would recommend checking it all out
ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON Original Soundtrack Disk 3
Track 16: Takes Me Anywhere
Composition: Shoi Miyazawa
Lyrics: Shoi Miyazawa
Vocal: Shoi Miyazawa
Chorus: ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON Development Staff
especially Take Me Anywhere
Takes Me Anywhere is super sweet
this is Miyazawa's comments about it:
"I joined From in 2014 because I love the AC series, and I was finally able to join the development team as part of the BGM/sound effects staff and I'm very grateful. I had hoped to start working on AC as soon as I joined the company, but that didn't end up happening for a long time. But I think I was able to fully utilize the experience I gained from working on other titles, so I hope you enjoyed it.
The last track on the album, "Takes Me Anywhere," features the chorus of all the friends who worked together on this project. In fact, I actually started work on it as soon as I had joined the company, and although I had always wanted to make it a reality, I never had the chance to realize it until now. But with the help of many people, including the development staff of ACVI, I was finally able to complete it."
Shoi Miyazawa's love letter to the AC series
it's genuinely an amazing bit of music
iirc he was Giovansen on youtube, and you can still listen to his old work under that name
yeah
cool people making things they're passionate about my beloved
it is always super sick
if you're interested in more AC-adjacent content, there's also the Sunrise album
Oh I'm aware of it! FreQuency always puts out good stuff
a decent number of its tracks are original rather than AC remixes, though it has those too
Life In Ash pops into my head at the weirdest times
the Someone Is Always Moving On The Surface remix is fascinating
the 20th Anniversary music also has some songs I love that are rather low key in the community like Armeria -Reborn-, Wasteland and Reminiscence
Yeah! Though I am not in love with that 9 remix lol
We Still Have a Long Way to Go and Fallout slap too, though the latter got more popular due to Metal Wolf Chaos using it as promo
no matter how funny it is that it's 8th on the soundtrack (because Arrays start at 0)

Yeah I think I’m settling on my original wack ass theory as to why NG+ exists as it does in AC6 as I watch the 5 hour vaati video
Spoilers for all of the NG+ stuff
||I think that I like my initial theory that the exposure to the coral surge, the one that bonds you to Ayre and starts the plot in earnest, also fucks you up somehow. Dolmayan saw the future, when he had a coral overdose, and continued to see it until you came around. I argue that NG+ cycles are a similar event, essentially the TES concept of CHIM. I also think Allmind is, somehow, aware of the cycles - that’s how she completely changed her tactics in NG++ and finally succeeds. Meanwhile, your consciousness is infused with the endless possibility and non-linearity of coral, sort of experiencing multiple timelines or outcomes at once||
||I think it’s also possible that Coral Release breaks our perception of time - that our consciousness is lost in THAT flow, changed forever||
An infinitely renewable energy source, living organisms, a drug, a material used for human enhancements
Coral does a lot of shit that doesn't seem to have much correlation
Like be called coral
||Well I guess it's a cluster of living things, but people didn't KNOW THAAAT||
It's kind of a miracle substance honestly
didn’t they?
Izzat public knowledge, I thought that was discovered in the underground labs n stuff but it's been a bit
I always wondered how it self propogates, like the threat of it reaching across the stars.. it's from underground veins, does it not need any sort of minerals or energy.. >:|a
the folks who named it might’ve had non-public knowledge
so uh
you know that pic of the persno who ordered a model kit of Freiza thinking it was going to be premade?
that's me, right now
Ahh I still have an RG RX78 and no grade Epyon lying around that I really ought to build one of these days
Really looking forward to the 30 minute missions AC6 kits though
i'm a few kits deep
No AC kits yet but i'm gonna get some eventually
(this isn't all of my kits btw, just the ones i can easily take pics off that are on display)
I already have unfinished skitarii and an ironstrider
i have two painters sets, one for Necrons and one for Space Marines that i need to work on
funny story
Warhammer 40k is the reason i got into building gundam model kits which ended up pulling me into the model building hobby
King of Braves 👑
And a couple more Riders and you can recreate the Grand Zi-O henshin scene!
glue 😋
I'll share a couple 30MM kits i've got here in a moment
Glue 🤝
Oh hey! I've got some too, lemme tell yuh this stuff has glued together TITANS!
i really wanna get the Steel Haze kit if i can
Yeah as soon as that's off pre-order I'm buying it
also been working on my own Custom kit of my personal AC, Pale Painter
the actual AC for reference
Reminds me of Fascinator from AC Last raven!
it also has an successor AC
just like ||Steel Haze became replaced by Steel Haze Ortus||
Pale Painter became replaced by Pale Painter Ruber
I’m getting nightfall raven
I don't think it does? It really does seem to be kinda- "oh we're dense and clustered here, time to grow even faster, nevermind that apparently they could have kept growing forever- maybe they just pull from some background energy field like heigus particles in Knights of Sidonia, or some other thing, could be almost anything XD
It's definitely damn near magic, reminds me of the Prey stuff. Enough high concept scifi and it loops around to being wizardry again
This was in my head and wouldn't go away.

My personal theory is that Coral sentience, Coral tech enhancements, and maybe the drug-like effects are explicable by Coral being some kind of ultra-effective substrate for data storage and processing
Ayre says something about being really good with data systems at one point iirc
One of Permet's properties is that information is shared between individual pieces (the "data" in "data storms"), and various technologies have been developed by mixing Permet with other materials or propellant for control purposes. Body-function augmentation technologies in which Permet is infused into the human body are considered a basis for advancement into space
i think it's reasonable to think Coral may act very similar to Permet
Yeah, agreed
not the same way mind you but
And the emergent consciousnesses within Coral are some kind of network effect of it being a natural data processor
But apparently whatever properties make it good at processing data also make it wildly volatile
Hence the fuel and weapon applications--explosive potential is good for both
gonna try doing the Old King ending in ACFA
Greetings, Lap Dog...
Old King is honestly one of those NPCs in a game that you can't forget, though in FA's case for less-than-stellar reasons lol
He sucks, you can never forget about him
i've done the other endings
Old King is Iconic in part because he's probably the worst person in a game full of mostly not good people 😛
Ayre is described as a "C-pulse Wave Mutation", so it's basically either this or she's an impression of someone who died horribly in the Fires of Ibis, seared onto the Coral like a blast shadow.
either way it's super interesting that Coral is capable of hosting conciousness
She does try to warn you in the initial contact that you're at risk of your consciousness drifting off into the coral, so at the very least that's almost definitely a thing that can happen.
I favor the "Coral can naturally produce consciousness" theory purely on the grounds that I find it more interesting
I wonder how you 'Do' Coral, I always imagined Red Eye kind of situation
Give me weird ass aliens or give me death
We also know about multiple coral conciousnesses thanks to Dolmayan iirc
yeah Ayre seems to be exceptional but not utterly unique
most coral is not conscious (at least not in an individual way) but Ayre isn't the only coral person
Yeah coral does also seem to have a like
Hivemind like conciousness
Based on how Ayre describes it
(she also refers to some coral masses as family but that doesn't necessarily have to mean individuals she thinks of as family, it could be more metaphorical than that)
Doesn't she have a line about "Coral voices being lost" or something like that at the end of Ice Worm
I think so
I can't find the RaD brand coral pipe image so just imagine it
Yeah there’s at least two others we know of
Whoops
Uhhhh I meant coral people w this
Although I’d always wondered about how Ayre knew so much about the world — maybe it’s from the consciousnesses of those lost in the flow
the upper arms are done
(also fixed some broken skitarii and made a new one)
anyone got tips for dodging dual earshots on a tank build? i've been trying aggrotank with dual javs and fasans and while it's fun i've been getting utterly thrashed by people running dual stunnies with earshots cuz im so big and maneuvering the tank feels like steering a boat so i just get absolutely smacked
How airborne are you when you run aggrotank?
yeah, generally my advice for dealing with Earshot is "don't be on the ground"
most of the time though i'm not great at it when a more mobile build gets above me
If you arent ABing and AB kicking constantly, you'll get outmaneuvered
Are you using borne tank legs or boat tank legs?
Boat leg AB is the exact same as pre-nerf burzel
Use it to your advantage
borne, i like how they look more
yeah i probably need to AB more, i've been trying to do the shuffle but i struggle with tighter movements
really some of the main differences is that we have no idea how permet is made and it doesn't seem to have "growth: yes" that we know of, and coral being able to enhance more people more safely than we've seen with Permet- though that could just as easily be a limitation of the current tech in-univierse. Actually "being more aligned means you suffer less damage/can handle more" is probs shared in hindsight lmao,
Maybe She/the c-waves picked things up from places like the watchpoints too?
WiFi
i would not say it enhances more people more safely considering gen 1-4 enhancements are not really considered to be safe at all
and any generation of enhancement after gen4 does not use Coral
Oh no that's absolutely the case, but I mean that onscreen the only remotely "can deal with Permet at higher levels quite fine" is basically only ||Eri and her replichildren, including/especially Suletta, who handled the highest Score of any human seen on-screen and was part of what led to that even higher score before- and coming down from that still kinda sucked for her with needing like, 3+ years of physical therapy and whatnot to move her body remotely normally IIRC||, so numbers-wise the onscreen "successful" coral-augments outnumber permet augmentations I think- but maybe it's cuz they're being pushed past their actual limits that we hardly see many successful augments living for long with it?\
Tho- I guess that's GUND-format-specific, since normal GUND is perfectly fine,
most problems with permet are just people pushing farther than they can handle
and what it was originally designed for
yeah, that but with Coral augments it's not possible to "push" it in a combat scenario, or- hrm, I guess they'd be using doses of coral to keep up the connection or something? and- actually in hindsight getting "caught in the datastorm" and physically dying seems to be close enough to- whatever happens when you overdose on Coral, if that's possible
coral enhancement will most likely kill you from the getgo but if you survive it seems, mostly fine?
I guess it's the combat/piloting-specific augments that're less successful, while overall-
Actually wait aren't the coral augments meant for combat stuff anyways?
Tho- maybe whatever is going on with Cinder Carla's aging... maybe she's using some coral in the process of that?
whereas Permet is probably pretty safe to be enhanced with but if you start fucking around with the datastorms and shit you will most likely die
basically the big hump is the entrypoint with your level of coral probs being less than whatever ignited you in the first place, while with permet the hump is further along and seems to basically be the entrance to whatever permet-mediated 'afterlife'/'uploaded conscious world' thing is there, or something,
the thing with Coral is also that you can just
skip coral enhancement
since non-coral enhancements from later gens are much safer with no downside from what we know
Honestly- if you actually fully cyberized/uploaded via permet you could probably tolerate higher and higher Scores natively since more of it would be running on permet's datastorms anyways lmao
I thought late gen enhancements were still coral based
substitute iirc
main downside really being that you don't have coral to actually connect directly to any C-wave stuff,
apparently, yeah,
which is not a downside 99.9% of the time
notably whatever they use for enhancement past gen4 is a coral replacement
Coral-augments or at least the research derived from that... the "can survive 60g+ accelerations" part seems more heavily implied, while the onscreen craziness in WfM is- hm, I guess they have other things to compensate? plus whatever the hell is going on with Suletta lmao,
so presumably it's something they made based on coral as a substitute for it, so in a basic sense it's still derived from the same tech
hmm- y'know how apparently ALLMIND runs things with- differently colored coral?
Actually kinda unsure if it's "brainwaves stimulated to mimic coral and affecting the energy" or if it's straightup coral but somehow differently colored,
at the very least- mixing 'kinda-biological' coral with 'mineral' permet- would be an interesting/fun man-machine/bio-mech interface lmao
biomechanical but the "bio" is coral and the "mechanical" is permet,
and apparently permet can be used/has some kinda use in reactors, to what extent/why is unspecified
EDIT:
the data transmission would be practically seamless, and with permet allowing for great distances/relaying the signal- wheee~
It's really only a downside to 621 specifically
||Iguazu|| has that connection and ||it drives him fucking crazy||
only a downside for 621 or for everyone else?
I think the ||Iguazu thing probs counts as a downside for him lmao||
naw you're fine, was just double-checking XD
Moreso that he can only hear the tinnitus parts of her talking, and as someone with mild tinnitus i would honestly go kinda nuts if my tinnitus kept flaring up every time i met a specific person
well, yeah. I guess I should say that the connection is half-there
my tinnitus (ringing that's constant right? I genuinely can't remember how it feels to not have some kind of sound in my ears- if it's quiet, it's ringing, unless I have anything else to focus on/distract myself with lmao) mainly acts up when I'm very sleep deprived and stressed I think mzxcnvc
Iguazu couldn't even tell exactly when/why the tinnitus is acting up cuz Ayre doesn't always talk- maybe he catches the background noise/thoughts from her, maybe it's like a poorly tuned TV antenna, Iunno lmao
I believe there's cut dialogue for the final mission ||which states "aggregated human brainwaves function much the same as coral" https://youtu.be/ic0QEGl6q7s?si=hX7EmDfhxyvmlMUS||
Just a reminder that cut content is cut for a reason, whether it be for gameplay or lore reasons.
Uploaded by request, this was all the dialogue I could not trigger in this fight. I also included that voice line people believe was Rusty or Sulla, although I just hear Iguazu with a filter.
Its very possible there's some trigger for these, but I...
Take with a grain of salt though
yeah, that, but Iunno if it really says something about what's powering the ||ALLMIND-SOL644||
I don't see other ways she could conveniently have ||2 sea spiders up and running without a coral analogue||
and the wave does knock out coral-stuff outside of 621's physical hookup-
so i guess it's just ||ALLMIND||-converted Coral? lmao
I wonder if it's a functional difference or not
||I like to think that sheer concentrated human willpower is genuinely that strong in the AC6 verse: Rusty is so determined he unknowingly willed terminal armor into existence in his final Fires route fight||
it's also kinda funny cuz it reminds me of the true GN-Drive colors being green/teal/blue-ish vs the GN-Drive Taus being orange and red if unfiltered, except you'd be playing with red coral, so it's reversed XD
Also I should probably spoiler tag all this lot
and White Glint did the same too-
At the bare minimum ||Rusty|| overcharged the hell out of the terminal armor XD
This seems to be the general narrative thrust. ||Even in that very fight, Iguazu manages to overcome ALLMIND's control with sheer white-hot rage, leaving them largely in the backseat in the last couple of phases||
I'm still pleased with this particular summary of the final boss tho lol
It's still so incredibly funny to think about sometimes, and also ||probs plays at least some part of why ALLMIND|| has the failgirl reputation lmao
Just that 621 is- well, kinda insanely skilled and extremely determined, as it goes with an Armored Core protag, sooo- yeah XD
I can fix her /s
it's really funny too because ||ALLMIND genuinely hides as the mastermind in plain sight for two and a half playthroughs and plays half the cast like a fiddle, but the plot just collapses at the eleventh hour because of Iguazu's Salty Gamer Rage and 621 just being that good||
This is also the plot of my hero academia
yeah XD
literally everything else is like- "this works", the moment ||621 touches things oops, now it all spirals out of control||
||the alternate beginning of act 5 for NG++ before things go sour for ALLMIND|| is delightfully chilling though
||"A chain made of human links is easily broken."||
goddess, yeah, like-
'you chose this, you better see it through'
Imagine saying that while not being able to shoot down more than 4 unarmed transport helicopters though
Local hound touches best laid scheme o' mice and men: things immediately go agley
She cannot erase the fail from the failgirl
to be fair ||Kate Markson really isn't kitted great for that mission||
maybe it's a mission failure cuz the test is for 621 in particular, but it's still funny XD
But she has laser dagger!! All she had to do was dagger sling cancel up to the helicopters and 2nd stage KSRV
Pvp nest is canon
So this is just Allmind's skill issue
She literally has everyones pvp data
||MIA is beautifully horrifying. Shout outs to the VAs, they did a fucking incredible job||
Well, everyone except Carla's
😛
in general the VAs are hella fun I think XD
maybe outdated data at best? Iunno
it's very funny that Carla hacked the arena program
Speaking of which, i found it quite amusing when vaati brought up the fact that HCs and LCs arent modular so PCA pilots cant check the patch notes and adapt their craft to suit the meta
One of several early indications she's way more than she seems
I feel like it was the same in Ace Combat 7 where I felt disappointed that Japanese Torres was not nearly as hammy
EN Michigan >>>>> JP Michigan
TBF, they make up for it with "our gundams can fit more bullshit in general", and some weapons are indeed multi-mode like that one HC with a shield+plasma lance
Michigan definitely feels like a stereotypical anime American even though he isn't actually
To be fair something like the pulse shield HC is incredibly versatile and would likely maul most arena combatants
I definitely think he's supposed to be lmao, Arquebus is basically the cool blue oni thing
I mostly mean he isn't literally an American, probably
We're just playing the local natural disaster sweeping through
there's no evidence america's still a thing and the best indication we get of where he's from is Jupiter iirc
frankly our performance (and that of others on our tier or a bit under like Rusty and totally-ordinary-bloodknight) is probably a major outlier for performance against LCs and HCs,
For starters, the fact that we're in S-rank at all after a while
Like, we also maul the arena combatants 😛
oh absolutely, 621 is a force of nature
Like, 621, Rusty, Freud, Nightfall are all clearly monsters in their field narratively
the flying LCs are up-armored and quite fast, like the Ecdromoi IIRC, would be pretty annoying to fight, especially if someone as good as you was piloting it
if only we got more monstrous fights against them in-game to match the lore lmao,
Game AI is hard :<
speak for yourself, Nightfall took me more than a few attempts my first time through 😛
tho I guess that just adds to "621 is friggin monstrously skilled even among other monsters"
like yeah sure eventually I got gud and nothing is too challenging anymore
mrrp XD
Nightfall is a bit of a cheesy build to be fair lol
Nightfall is also one of the game's more blatant input readers
cheesy?
He's designed to nuke players quickly with pilebunker and AA
Oh, also a fair addition to that list only seen on NG++: ||Thumb Dolmayan||
Add songbirds to catch you if you're too grounded
That fight is nuts
Oh heck yeah friggin ||Dolmayan||,
The arena variant is a pale imitation
||Dolmayan is a trooper. Made me make my own BAWS only build||
I really like the BAWS parts
Obviously the Basho Arms are stupidly common because their stats are jacked, but I also really like the head and core a lot
He just uses such plain equipment then rudely reminds a lot of people that the pulse blade is among the best melees in the game
head is one of my defaults if I'm not sure what head I want
just because it has super low EN drain and a lot of AP
It's a solid low-energy stat brick
UwU
deserved
Pulse Blade is amazing and deserves the rep
yep lol
It bothers me most PvP builds use verill as their stat stick though, gets old even if it looks cool. Granted I know they're not exactly playing fashion core
also you do have to remember for the in-character monstrousness that ||Dolmayan's boss intro has him oneshotting a PCA chopper||
like holy shit what an entrance
||If only my assault armour hit for like 30k damage||
absolutely worf'd
Strongest weapons in the game are cutscene armaments
yeeeaaaap
Like- that's gotta be close to the intended "lore" effect of an ||AA|| I guess,
Even in the reveal trailer Nightfall still has to shishkebab a dude after using AA though
Varies I think
They're well-designed visually, but they stick out so much from the rest of the parts that I find myself not really wanting to combine them
It's whatever the writer thinks would work at the time which is fine tbh
One reason I've never gone for the Basho melee meta
They're definitely particularly boxy/angular
It wouldn't matter as much if they didn't have like 25 more melee spec than the nearest arms
I remember struggling with Killing Fields' design because I didn't like the weird look from mixing Basho and Mind Alpha parts
It's neat but but a tad polarising
TBF that could easily be a tuning/modification thing in-universe,
And also it could just be that ACs are just- iunno, better able to handle it-
The PCA chopper is big, more surface area for the "explosion" to catch on, vs a smaller AC, or whatever other mitigating circumstances
Basho legs are also awesome
I think I eventually swapped the legs to Melander so it was more consistently boxy
Yeah I used basho legs on my first playthrough
Yeah I had a mixed Basho/Melander build at one point too
My (kinda bad) first playthrough build was basho legs and arms on Wrecker Core with...I don't actually remember which head
I played a nachtreiher/firmeza laser lance + parry shield build on my first couple playthroughs
It's also notably a coral AA
Spring Chicken legs for me
which ignores defenses
Tru
Can't remember which core but I didn't realize until after beating NG that I was using a very sub-optimal generator
Still managed to beat Ibis with that thing
In fairness the generator stats are labelled weirdly for new players
Can't blame you on that one
They really are yeah
IBIS is, even now, the boss that gives me the most consistent trouble
It seems more build reliant I will say
IBIS and the last phase of the NG++ boss are two of the hardest things in the game for me
Gunboats make it pretty reasonable but I had a hell of a time killing it with a dual melee build
also Arquebus Balteus, I guess, depending on build
Arquebus Balteus was the only boss I couldn't beat with Lumberjack
I tried over and over again
but couldn't do it for reasons that felt really unfair
||Snailteus is a wonderful boss, absolutely love fighting them||
(mostly its shape/hitboxes are super weird and I had a devil of a time getting the chainsaw to not whiff)
Chainsaw has always been very finicky
Yeah, Lumberjack is my chainsaw build
I have beaten the game with it except for Arquebus Balteus specifically
Ibis I wound up cheesing the first time with dual zims + dual stun needle
Prepatch zimms were something else
Dual Stun Needle absolutely gives IBIS a bad time
Needles are also fantastic still
But yeah, Lumberjack is my chainsaw meme build
I originally made it to fuck around with my pvp friends
Don't think it'd work in PVP but it could do for PVE
I have a bastard heavyweight build which is twin bad cooks, coral shield and needle
It works wonderfully at making your opponent never want to play against you again 😬
Lmao
I don't like playing it except for gags lol
here's Lumberjack wrecking IBIS' shit first try though lol
Sounds a bit like my bad cook + gatling + trueno build
Basic build is lightweight with Jav Betas on the shoulders and chainsaw in the left hand
right hand is empty
just chainsaw, fists, and Jav Beta for pressure
💪
God fist into chainsaw is such a silly combo tool
In fact fist is kinda silly and enables a lot of speedrun quick kills
You get like 4 or 5 guaranteed comboable hits with it not counting things like shotgun staggers
and here's killshots on all of the final bosses with it
Can fists still stunlock a staggered opponent
Sweet 16 also gives you extended stagger to add even more hits on
Yup
That never changed afaik
I tried Sweet 16 but didn't like it
It's a punish tool
fists just feel better for what I'm doing here
Can easily chunk off 2000 or so on stagger
Fist feels really good for comboing into chainsaw
Twin Haldeman twin 16 is a very fun assault boost aggro build
partially because the lunge on the punch really helps with spacing the chainsaw's wonky hitbox
Oh yeah definitely take fist for chainsaw
You'd be silly not to
I believe most runners use laser cannon for stagger combo extensions anyway
oh and just for good measure, here's it vs the hardest boss in the game 😛
That's what I'm talking about
Every time I play against friends we always cap off with the MAD STOMP mirror match
No better way to end it
oh yeah that, yeah
Nightfall can input read all day; I simply slap on my dual rifles + missile kiting build and run circles around 'em plinking
heh
actually
I'll just repost like my one video I've put public on YT lol
Two legendary mercs and their ACs square off- unfortunately, only one is a NEXT.
BGM:
Armored Core 4 OST - Fall
||Just took down V.III O'keefe. "Maybe now...i'll get some sleep." Well said man.||
||Im gonna get some sleep too.||
Fuck yeah. My only quibble is why basho arms? Melee spec doesn't affect the tai-yang-shou iirc
I think I have basho on my mech but I don't remember if redshift sword beams are affected by that or not
Yeah if moonlight is I bet redshift is
One of the quirks of vibes-based mech design is sometimes you have no idea why you choose something but nothing else feels Feels Right™️
basho is still often a good decision because it has fantastic defensive stats for the weight to be fair
yeah that's the thing, beyond its jacked melee spec, Basho Arms are just all-around pretty good
the jacked melee spec doesn't really have a cost, they're not particularly specialized
Like vibes it's why I'm a RJ user in general
Basho just some good arms
except spring chicken
I liked them before they nerfed my boosters
58 firearms spec is solid enough that the correct choice of FCS makes it not matter too much
I'm spoiled by ACVD's light RJs though
Nothing compares to Fisherman/Forehead
I also just visually like RJ legs over humanoid
I like RJs on evasive gun platform builds like laser rifles, ransetsu RFs, bad cooks
Yellowjacket was an aerial nightmare and I felt like a golden goddess after beating N-WGIX with it
the airborne on boost thing makes it a hard sell for me when it comes to melee though which is my preferred deal
I think redlining is easier on RJ too since you at least have more mobility when you're out of en
true
And I'm very much a redline player
ahhh I'm the opposite
love the dafeng regen reactors
hokushi is also cool and neat
I miss being able to buerzel kick kites into oblivion without having to strip every spare ounce of weight I can off my build to catch anything
I dont care what weight class you are it's jarring when an ab can be outpaced by a retrobooster
yeah the PvP balance of AC6 thus far has been a little wonky, but in truth I have no idea how I'd go about fixing it :/
Delta V doesn't exist you're just imagining things
redshifts are just unaffected by energy firearm spec iirc
I wouldn't be allowed to balance it even if I could
to my knowledge the only melee affected by energy spec is the moonlight as of the current patch
which I think is fine because melee builds being forced onto the NGI 000 for good energy cap and energy firearm spec would kinda suck
if you've got a strong PC then it emulates okay on RPCS3
it's very heavily CPU dependent though
A and S tier off this list should guarantee relatively solid performance (being a late PS3 game is sadly a whole-ass hog)
i seem to have a high B-tier cpu from what i can tell
may still be worth a shot; some of the folks on the AC cord have made a custom VD install of RPCS3
they might have made some optimisations
granted it's probably still a hassle
i tried normal ACV so i might as well give ACVD a shot

I thought coral weapons are affected by all 3 specializations and only add up to 15% when it's all combined? or iunno, actually
one of them is unaffected
ACVD was pretty much a wholesale improvement of the fundamentals over ACV
But if you didn't like feeling like you are a dedicated ground vehicle you might still not be keen on it
VD feels like one of the most "land vehicle with boosters" generations
Where even earlier ACs would at least let you be semi aerial for short bursts without needing parkour but the way ACVD rewarded using level geometry was so good
yeah
though light RJs did give you probably the most aerial mobility out of any leg option
I love dense urban mazes and the only thing I would love more is having them be levels of absurd scale with tunnels and platformed layers and shit like that
You couldn't fly per se but you had an auxiliary thruster that would give you a massive boost to walljump height and you could glide very effectively
and with enough walljumping you could gain and maintain lots of height
I still kinda wish ACVD quads could like
Walk up walls if you did manual walk instead of boosting
Act like a friggin spider
honestly I haven't liked quads much since AC1/2 where they were swivel chairs with an astonishingly stable firing platform
Would also make the whole sniper platform thing work better too
Yeah I feel like they should be something that turns you into a gun turret
AC2 was my favorite classic AC
Yeah the funny thing about it in AC 1/2 is that they were basically a lot like light treads in how they operated
Spider tanks
you could move laterally in any direction you liked on a dime, you didn't need to brace or kneel for heavy weapons, and you (this is important) didn't need to spend energy to skate at top speed
which is a standard feature circa ac6, of course, but it was exceptional in AC1/2
Yeah
they had high energy drain as a cost though and their built-in boosters tended to be on the weak side so your aerial ability was impaired
Honestly while I understand the fun of it a part of me hates how skating is default now
In a "why do we have legs if we never use them as legs" sense
to kick obviously
Me in my MIND BETA
But yeah like... If there was a trade between walking and skating even
Like if skating lowered your accuracy and wasn't a gorillion times better than walking
I would be into it
But I'm an old man wishing things were slower
I think Hawken, much as that fell off, handled running and skating very well
So magical they couldn't even recreate it
The code of that game is apparently sorcery
some of that is definitely nostalgia but it's an incredible execution of what makes AC good
When I realized the similarities between ac2 and dxm I lost my mind
for me it's kind of awkwardly between Master of Arena and the also-fantastic AC3 though
AC2 makes some bold decisions I respect though, like actually making biological enemies relevant
get a head with a biosensor for the love of god
Also the absolutely hilarious voice acting for the emeraude rep
the briefing in the first minute of this video remains comedy gold
I can't remember which patron it is bit there's one mission in particular where it's the most
Outrageously and obviously evil man
Straight up "What If Albert Wesker Was Somehow Less Subtle" ass
I think it's one where you target an Emeraude facility
It's been so long but that was the golden age of silly voices in general so
I think it was the Zio Matrix Earth branch actually
Coral counts as it's own damage type, otherwise follows normal weapon stat interactions (ex. Firearm Spec improving crosshair tracking, Melee Spec affecting coral melee damage).
Last I've tried, Coral weapons aren't affected by Energy Firearm Spec (which gives more flexibility in generator choice).
It has the best AP-weight ratio of any arm in the game
Yeah Basho arms kind of wind up as a common stat-stick arm
Messing around with parts in PVE, I think the buffed VE-21A FCS is at least usable with 36 Close-Range, while the VE-21B is awful with just 15 Close-Range (unless you're using missiles/zoning super hard).
The issue with long range FCS isnt that your AC cant track targets far away
Its just that bullet velocity in this game is super slow on average
And that ricochet exists as a mechanic
The fact that lasers and railguns can ricochet is very strange imo
A very, very good reason, if not one of the best XD
Referring more to what tuning affects it at least, IIRC
Honestly besides game mechanics I just chalk it up to how "Core Theory" and "armor and/or evasion got so good that it's useless to fight at longer ranges" get abstracted? Or iunno
Like if far away enough then you can get your armor to catch them at an angle or diffuse the energy somehow,
At least the loss of energy over long distances could explain why energy weapons get less effective, but since it affects everything then it just being a quirk of armor/evasion development in-universe could also make sense/cover more than one case
funnily you could also logic it as some kinda Haki/Willpower fight shenanigans lmao, we know ||Rusty can at bare minimum overcharge Terminal Armor||, and ||apparently agitated brainwaves mimic Coral somehow according to a deleted thing||, so it doesn't feel entirely outta the question
ACV/ACVD actually had distinct mechanics for damage types here - KE weapons fell off linearly with range, TE weapons fell off abruptly at range (but cost energy from your boost meter to fire), and CE weapons didn't fall off with range at all but had the lowest projectile speed so tended to be more easily dodged
I mean i can also think of lore friendly justifications for the mechanic, but it still contributes to the lower viability of long range combat despite the lore saying new technology is trying to move away from core theory
hmmmm
if they release a RaD model or a Balam model
i may change from nightfall raven to that
Hm, maybe it's really new (in-universe)-
'course the Doylist thing is likely that they probably didn't really focus the tuning for that, Iunno
Maybe the sequel can better make the most of things, like VD did for V or FA did for 4, or a DLC/later patch can adjust things better, Iunno,
(Speculation) Between crossing the Rubicon and the ending named Alea Iacta Est, what if we keep going with the references and ||there's a Coral Civil War as the minds contained in it begin to diverge and conflict over who's in charge of this new system||
Though regardless I have a meme ready ahead of time in case they do the thing where you have to fight 621 in a later game
Gotten a feel for the Tai-Yang-Shou explosive launcher, is a really nice Bazooka/Melee hybrid for quad/tank builds since they don't stop to swing.
explosive thrower is one of my favourite weapons in the game ngl
ET jamming is one of my favourite combos
(Also new build lol)
kyoriku to KRSV goes crazy lmao
I can't get a hang for the thrower but it is definitely cool
I've found it really nice in close-range circle-strafe/footsies moments, attacking a wide area instead of opponents directly. Charged swing has diagonal spread and more range, which is nice if you see a bigger opening from a distance.
Taking notes
at least it seems possible in that scenario that no matter what, 621 and Ayre survive the fight with whatever protag we get, mrrew,
goddess I hope they survive that cuz like- how often does that actually happen in Armored Core?
I guess ***maybe ***White Glint's pilot could have survived too, but still, you wouldn't be able to tell,
||and/or maybe it's also whatever the other Coral minds have attached themselves to, it definitely ends up with coral, and thus c-wave mutations, pretty much everywhere, so different upbringings/local experiences can do shenanigans with a diaspora like that I think XD||
paint update
Very sexy
very clean
Its supposed to be my build but actually somewhat lore friendly
ALLMIND-ifying builds is fun
The idea is that the pilot is a former recon MT pilot who became a merc working under allmind
The jamming bomb launcher is a cover for the MDD cloak system the unit has installed
I took my competitive lightweight build and had the "what if they got grabbed" approach to that
Legs and head swapped alongside paintjob
Judging from the mechanics and the way the OS upgrades phrase things, ACs in 6th gen mitigate damage by dynamically angling and moving limbs to ensure shots always get deflected so long as the ACS gets enough time to process the incoming shot, which is why ACS failures cause you to eat shit quite so dramatically (Lasers still get deflected at long distance via this logic since you're spreading the beam over more surface area, and I assume ACs have some ablative coating). When factions say they're moving away from core theory I typically assumed they're referring to shunning what the Kikaku is made for: rocketing into melee to bypass that ACS adjustment gap, but that doesn't mean they're not still trying to attack at close ranges.
going to try to see if i can do something with ACV and ACVD again
💪
good luck!
AC:VD is one of my top 5
just an absolutely stellar once-finale to the franchise
let's just hope the prior CPU problems were a blip 😅
seems to be working in menus and shit at least
gonna need to tweak some settings for performance
but Verdict Day is working
unlike V
Test
Didn't work lmao
My discord has stuck me a million scrolls up the chat, and isn't letting me shortcut to the bottom
Pain
incredible
a good sign!
Verdict Day is an amazing game, highly recommended
the economy is brutal though. If you (understandably) want to farm cash, I recommend mission 1-4
it's pretty trivial to no-hit
apparently i am using mostly junk parts
i have no idea what that means but you know, i'm sure i'll figure it out
ok this is incredibly laggy
Junk parts are your starting stuff, they’re low quality but also low cost
This does mean repair costs are lower tho
Loader 4 ain't half bad
i think i'm just good at the game now so i can do most things with any like, reasonably functional build
was trying to see if i could comprehend Balteus being a wall but even dropping in my ultra-lightweight stun build didn't really make it all that hard
tried Loader 4 and it did quite well
Yeah, this makes sense to me, given how much of a role evasion plays in damage mitigation across the games,
It does mean that if you're trying to deal with that at longer ranges then it's like- you really need upgun a lotta things to properly compensate for that
And the shift in the speed/weight ratio absolutely helps
?
the biggest issue with Loader 4 is its generator. It's actually pretty solid otherwise
i tried a few different builds against Balteus
notably Aperture Momentum did worse than basically everything else
as much as i love Aperture Momentum it doesn't really hold up to any kind of tricky or difficult combat
the problematic fave because it sucks at everything
Like, before the speed update I think it was hard to break 300 with it? Or- I think boost was 200-something,
Wait might.be misremembering the numbers
ah i see
Detonation Derby also did surprisingly well
still has to be my favourite AC that i've made just for like, theme
the hotrod style just fucks hard
double JVLN Alpha is such a flex lmao
i'm not going to pretend it's a good build but it's funny
just like Aperture Momentum is kind of a fucking awful build
but i love it anyway
it's really slow and once you fire the weapons and they are on recharge you are basically a sitting duck
you basically hit everything first try or the enemy kills you
I am fucking SPEED
I have no idea how people dont realize that lightweights are fun as fuck
Heck yeah XD
That seems like you'd be fun to fight
Too bad i'm instantly crippled by mid to long range enemies/evasive enemies
Though if you play on xbox i'd be happy to fight ya
PC
Also I will specifically build a mech based around what will look very cool fighting you I do not care
A win is worth nothing if we don't get the spectacle of both of us being dope as hell
it is the coolest thing lmao, and you can't even feel that bad if you lose cuz you both pushed it as hard as you could XD
Right
lightweights are super cool to play when it goes well
this is my second Ultralightweight combat AC
the successor to Nuclear Whiplash, Nuclear Collision
it's not as bad as Nuclear Whiplash but it's still extremely lightweight
Nuclear Whiplash is still the most lightweight functional AC i've made
which is still one of my all time favourite builds
Id recommend swapping to kasuar for the extra attitude stability
Which ultralightweights sorely need
reasonable
Why is stun baton so cool
Aside from the potential to hit em with the "you are already dead"
low cooldown
you can potentially do a melee build without weapon swapping
also it's a lightning baton, nuff said
it also has a long as fuck combo which looks badass
I wonder if you could do baton combo 1-4, 3 punches to reset cooldown, then baton combo them
might be able to extend it with the shock proc
I had one that swapped between baton and laser dagger that was just
Always Be Striking
By the time one connects the next one is ready
sounds fun
Arquebus Neverending Melee Combo
sadly it can't be neverending, since there's a hard limit to the length of melee/punch strings
notably stagger shots from laser cannons or shotguns like the sweet 16 etc do not count towards this cap, and I have to wonder if the electric proc is similar
forgot where I got this info from
Fun fact, dagger normal attack sequence -> zimm stagger extension -> dagger normal attack sequence does 15k+ AP worth of damage
A couple adjustments and realizing the lam head made my AS in the fuckin 1300 band I now have my old favorite head on this thing
Evasive Maneuvers
I'm sad that this shotgun is so much better than machineguns
I got in a couple nest matches with it this morning and even though I had a couple losses the baton/Zim combo eats mechs for breakfast
nice
It just don't got that same feel of like, ratatata you know
Who's that one guy in the older AC games who just really likes machine guns
I vibe with him
At least being a machine gun person makes pve missions with dense enemy groups a breeze
Chang Chen smoke very well
I know them
Pale Painter uses Chang Chens tho
I like all the machine guns for different reasons
so long as i can just hold down the trigger without thinking i'm good
i don't much like anything that needs to be charged or that i have to constantly tap the trigger for
Give me that laser gatling
big gun that shoots fast makes me happy
bigger gun, more ammo, shoots faster, always a win
I didn't mind tapping the shit out of my mouse so much but half the time I do the game registers it as a charge
I like the idea of twin laser pistols or uncharged rail guns and slamming them but I try and if there's even a slight hiccup in whatever the game is thinking
Suddenly I'm not firing I'm charging up
yeah same
i'm pretty brainless in combat ngl, most of the time i forget to even check if my reticle is locked while i'm shooting
kinda just
hold down the trigger so long as i can see the enemy
For me it's that my favorite builds rarely get over 1600AS unless I make compromises and stagger spikes are never getting tuned down again so I have to focus on my defensive stuff
So I need my guns brainless so I can think about not being hit
king shit
My kindred spirit
him and the one guy
1111
no left hand weapon bc there’s no left hand mg in AC2, incredibly based
i respect these two and nobody else
Ruber surprisingly does have 1600 AS
Nice
Redlining is fun though
I too love redlining with an rj
I wonder if my zippy build could use the light RJ legs
Nacht looks cool but I like my bouncy dash
It looks cool as hell
ACVD also converted me fully to RJ
Also I've been relieved to find my hot take (V/VD movement good) is surprisingly lukewarm in the larger AC community
I like whichever coral fits my weight limit, the hokushi, and I don't know enough about blue generators to know which one I should be using
Im slightly red green colourblind so the center red reticle is practically invisible to me 😔
i'm using the one with more capacity and more post recovery supply
honestly idk what the other one is even for
i am potentially missing something but the Aorta seems to be just worse in every way than the NGI 000 stat wise
it’s lighter
oh right
i was reading the weight thing completely wrong
that'd do it
it is significantly lighter
i'm still going to use the NGI 000 on Pale Painter Ruber since weight and speed are not really concerns
Even so I find that the trade off basically doesn't exist since the generator is the place you don't want to skimp on
Same with boosters
304 or 330 is not a difference that's going to make or break a combat encounter
funnily enough i have for fcs, boosters and gen a full Coral Research Institute setup
Guess you just can’t beat the Institute
it fits with the sort of mythology i came up with for it
coral integrated, coral stained, an AC to bridge the gap
a combination between cutting edge modern ALLMIND AC technology and the bleeding edge relics left behind by the Rubicon Research Institute
satisfies my gameplay needs AND my customization brain
Have y’all seen the AC6 nuzlocke thing?
What do you think? He's not done yet but i think im making good progress.
though unfortunately there're SO many weapons that V1 has access to that you kinda give him anything and it'll work
goddess I love how far kicking takes them XD
It almost doesn't feel real in the "holy shit should we be allowed this much power?" kinda way z,mxcnbmxzb
But otherwise it's like- "oh hels yeah" cnbx
roguelike?
or- different thing?
Kinda
So
It’s a challenge where you only have 8 AC loud outs to take on missions - usually the preset ones from NPCs and such
If you die on a mission, the loadout you died with can’t be used for the rest of the game
Mhm,
sounds fair enough,
is it per run or per "all 3 endings" entirely?
or is it-
"8 you can pick per run and you can't pick the ones you already lost"?
- VP-20C (dark blue with 2 boxes) is essentially the default of blue generators. I'd describe it as AORTA but better, since it has chunky full-empty stats (1100 EN) without destroying other stats.
- VE-20C (slab of triangles) often gets used for Energy Firearm Spec, on the heavier side though.
- VP-20D (large, has pipes) gets partway to NGI 000, but at the cost of significant weight. I like it on heavy builds for massive EN Output, and 1400 EN after full-empty.
I don’t get what you mean but it’s usually not done using NG+, it’s done by doing the mission select of a fully completed file in order
You are supposed to do all the missions of a certain route with the 8 builds tho
Currently listening to someone whine about terminal armor
As im using terminal armor
Like i could not care less-
terminal armor is the only one i use
Whining about TA? Honestly if someone whines about TA its a skill issue
I've been using assault armor more on heavy builds to keep up pressure when I see pulse armor windup.
Their build either doesnt do enough dps, or they just didnt manage their AP well enough
Because all you need to do to defeat TA is brawl it out until they pop TA, then turn around and fly in the opposite direction for 5 seconds
The only place where TA is genuinely the most tactically advantageous is in 3v3
TA is an extremely limitbreaker type deal which is basically only useful for a true last stand type situation imo
If you are losing against it you've literally just been outplayed
VP-20C is the most balanced EN weapon generator, literally. It has 100 en weapon spec (EN weapon buffs/nerfs happen above 100 and below 100 respectively). It has decent redline performance, good recharge, and doesnt weigh too much. Comparing it to the second worst generator in the game is doing it a bit of a disservice tbh
VE-20C is a weird one imo, its got a decent generator capacity and good output but its heavy, has almost unbearably slow recharge speeds, and doesnt even have the best EN weapon spec. Id personally take VE-20B over it (lighter, recharges faster, and has the max EN weapon spec) and adapt my loadout to fit the lower EN output
VP-20D is pretty alright, at the cost of being overly heavy and having a subpar redline performance. Id personally run VP-20C over it
VE-20A and VP-20S are lighter than the rest but dont have as much utility, especially VE-20A (decent EN weapon spec and output for its weight, but its pretty bad at everything else). At least VP-20S has alright redline performance, though its heavily kneecapped by its capacity and output, plus its the only blue gen that actually makes your EN weapons perform worse since it has 94 EN weapon spec
In practice, no matter the AC, weight and speed arent enough to make aorta a better option than NGI 000 (or basically any other generator)
Hell id run joso over aorta
The one thing I despise about ac6's matchmaking is the fact that i keep facing the same guy, then I change builds to counter it and suddenly i fight someone else with the exact build needed to counter mine, rinse repeat
Here's pale painter ruber with joso (left numbers) and aorta (right numbers) respectively
Yes, aorta has better en weapon spec (105 vs 72) and EN capacity (3k vs 2.3k). Yes, aorta does increase the AC's EN supply. However, the weight increase causes recovery, boost speed, and QB speed to decrease, not to mention the given increase in EN recharge delay. The EN supply stat is pretty much negligible since coral gen gameplay ignores EN supply
Additionally, since RJs live and die by their grounded QB mobility, aotra objectively decreases mobility and surviability
like basically picking the 8 builds and whatever you keep alive carries over to a new run for the next ending and you maybe get to fill up the empty slots and whatnot
might be a fun addition XD
Fair enough
huh,
unfortunately I'd pick it over JOSO for the look and also cuz I got used to mag-dump QBs zmxncv
Paradoxically JOSO allows you to magdump your QBs more often
huh, wild, is the Redlining amount a lot/practically comparable to the Aorta?
and- cuz I like hearing about this kinda stuff, thoughts on NGI-000?
Admittedly i haven't tested it in practical gameplay
Mhm, I do like that I can ignore being on the ground kinda-sorta,
JOSO redline time is 1.82 seconds Aorta redline time is like 2.73 seconds
how much does it redline for and how much flight time/how many QBs does it translate to?
After redlining on HAL core, JOSO takes 1.84 seconds to go from empty to full
While AORTA takes 2.76 seconds
is that while on the ground/redline recovery goes up to one point and then natural/grounded EN recovery covers the rest?
Ignore me again lmao i double thinked myself
Redline time is in fact the delay between depletion time and recharge kicking in
cuz purely on a "redline, then immediately start QBing again", am just wondering if the JOSO really does beat it out or not
Going back to my original message
In the case of pale painter ruber, Joso redline time is 1.84 sec and aorta redline time is 2.76 sec
so almost a full second faster- how many QBs does each give you?
I havent calculated the actual EN recharge yet though
Joso inital immediate recharge is 17%, so after the 1.84 second redline, you'll get 391 EN back out of 2.3k
mhm,
BTW no matter how much EN is actually consumed, if you QB you QB to your max distance right? at least is what I kinda remember,
*as in it rounds up basically
Joso has 769 en recharge
Yup
mhm,
Is the JOSO's redline enough for like 2 QBs or 3?
Depends on the booster
