#Armored Core General!

A new core part developed by Elcano. This model utilizes technological insights derived from analyzing Schneider ACs to achieve improved overall balance and high suitability for aerial combat.

serene kettle
#

If we're going to older armored core games, the classic example is Nineball, who on top of maxed out Human PLUS enhancements has a modified pulse rifle variant that fires in 3-round bursts unavailable to the player.

cursive agate
#

Furlong Dynamics collabed with Elcano, which is what the message in NG+ vs Rusty was talking about I think.

serene kettle
#

(In AC1 - Nineball Seraph in Master of Arena is completely custom)

polar osprey
#

But yeah iirc the most notable examples of custom AC's are Ortus and Full Course

#

They are entirely non-standard

#

The only two in the game aside from maybe the HAL AC

serene kettle
#

There's also Stinger's AC Vixen in Project Phantasma, which is also a custom frame unavailable to the player (and absolutely sick to boot)

polar osprey
#

ALLMIND's AC's don't really count cause we see multiple AC's use ALLMIND parts

polar osprey
#

i switched the stored plasma rifle weapons to stored kojima rifle weapons

#

i am here to make things worse

frank pivot
#

Only if you throw away arm weapons. In previous games, you couldn't put arm weapons on your back

polar osprey
#

well if i ever exhaust my ammo i will be having ultra acid radiation guns

#

apparently they have uh, two shots each

#

but i think if i exhaust all my ammo i've got bigger problems

#

man these arms forts are so fucking funny to kill

#

literally just jumped onto one and spammed rockets on it until it exploded

#

them: this is an arms fort, a massive superweapon, it's incredibly dangerous and powerful, it'll be near impossible to destroy
me: jumps up onto it and shoot rockets Nah, i'd win

#

this does look kinda spooky

polar osprey
#

honestly just trying to figure out how the fuck i am supposed to kill this thing quick enough to not die from the constant missile spam and lasers

#

yeah i'm not loving Answerer

gonna try AC5 cause i need more AC content now that i'm kinda done with AC4A

#

AC6 wasn't enough

#

AC4A wasn't enough

#

i need more

serene kettle
#

If you liked AC4A, going back to AC4 will probably give you a more comparable experience than ACV

#

I liked ACV, but it had a looooot of AC4-era new fans big mad when it released

#

because it was very much not more AC4 lol

#

It's gritty, it's squat, it's relatively slow, and it's very...brown. Like AC4/4A is brown but ACV is brooooown. I only remember seeing plant life a couple of times in Verdict Day.

serene kettle
#

keen observers may spot that this shows a pair of unmapped sticks. This is because it was designed for a PS1 controller and they did not change it at all for the PS2 entries at first.

eager vector
#

lol yes based

serene kettle
#

Also, the interact button is the same button as the melee button. This has never resulted in accidentally destroying mission objectives I don't know why you would say that

polar osprey
#

i rescind my satement, the game does not like playing

serene kettle
#

huh, not working or just not feeling it?

polar osprey
#

not working

#

going to see if i can play with some settings to get it to work

#

but i tried pausing the game one time and it crashed the game and the emulator

#

if i can't get it to work i'll just do 4

serene kettle
#

oof

#

oh yeah if you're emulating anyway, definitely check out the old school armored cores sometime

#

They're definitely old but I hold a special place in my heart for AC1

wooden nimbus

polar osprey

it really doesn't

dim pewter
patent oyster
#

Since all the AC models are super detailed already, you have to strike that balance between just right and overwhelming that i personally think a lot of people miss

eager vector
#

I’m usually undergreeble bc by the time I’ve gotten my gradient just right I don’t want to look at it for a while lol

#

plus I feel like decal resolution is bad on ps4

patent oyster
#

decal resolution is bad in camera mode tbh

#

thats why i prefer to take decal showcase beauty shots in the AC assembly menu

#

action shots are just for cool poses

frank pivot
#

I have no clue how to do good decal work without copying references

#

Like i can translate a set of decals and a look from a real life vehicle

#

But coming up with something whole cloth is way harder

patent oyster
#

Its mostly an experience thing for me

#

I've been building gunpla for years now and have also seen a lot of work from pro builders, so i can kind of intuitively 'know' where to place warning decals and such

#

I cant really describe it other than "make sure the location isnt too busy already, and/or that the decal doesnt interrupt or outshine the existing mechanical greeble"

#

In fact, i think a lot of the ACs in this game really don't need extra detail per say; the designers and 3D modellers have done a stellar job making the mechs in this game look like they could really exist, and have added tons of mechanical+surface detail already

#

That's why i think its very easy to overdo it when adding more detail yourself

#

But of course, whether there's too much detail is also up to personal preference

polar osprey

wooden nimbus
#

Oh dang

#

The Crab is vibing

polar osprey
#

it is a vibe

#

one thing i saw people talk about is that the remixed versions of Rusty and Carla's themes are better

#

and honestly i don't think i could agree less

#

they do have fun vibes

#

but they hit so much less

#

especially on the parts that really have some power to them

#

like the piano part of Carla's theme

#

Rough and Decent (Natural Behaviour) is very good but it's not as clear or intensive as Rough and Decent (Bad Joke) to me

#

they almost sound like two completely different songs because the main sounds of Rough and Decent are so muddled in (Natural Behaviour) compared to (Bad Joke)

#

for Steel Haze (Where Truths Meet) the vibe is just, way different with the instrumental accompaniment

#

which isn't bad

#

but the strong emotional feeling of Steel Haze (Rusted Pride) is kinda buried a bit under the more traditional instrumental parts

#

it becomes much less ethereal and emotional to me

#

much less melancholy and thoughtful

#

i think as songs both remixes are very good but i also see why they aren't in the game

#

and unlike what i've seen people say about them, i wouldn't want them to be

eager vector
#

I would want them to be, but not replacing the originals where they’re used

polar osprey
#

i guess that makes sense

#

as like, a pickable track in pvp or like, replaying missions maybe

#

but having them replace any of the origina tracks would be the furthest from what i would want

eager vector
#

more content and add it there :3

polar osprey
#

i simply don't think they would fit the game as well

polar osprey
#

watched Marcomeatballs video on it and it has to be the only time i've strongly disagreed with him about music cause he didn't like the mostly non-lyrical nature of the AC6 OST that much and thought that disc 3 having more lyrical stuff was really great

#

but i really do think that the more vibes based nature of AC6's soundtrack is a great strength

#

the focus on instrumental and atmospheric tracks really worked very well with the environments and people of Rubicon and the progression of the story in the game

wooden nimbus
#

Irregulation is hitting me in the classic vibes

#

For good reason but just

#

Listen to it

polar osprey
#

yeah

#

idk i like all the remixes

#

but i think they are also made outside the context of the game

#

and thus are not fitting within the context of the game like the originals

wooden nimbus
#

Nah I get that

#

Sounds fair,
Fingers crossed the support goes on for a while

serene kettle
#

I was initially disappointed that a lot of AC6's music didn't really...stand out, that so much of it is just background industrial grinding, but I think it works

polar osprey
#

i get why people like disc 3 but at the same time man the actual in-game shit goes too hard

serene kettle
#

and it pops when it isn't

#

See: Rough and Decent

polar osprey
#

Rought and Decent is peak

serene kettle
#

it has a distinctive style from previous games but still holds its own

polar osprey
#

agreed

#

and i stand by my criticisms of some of the remixed songs from the original ost that are in disc 3

#

they are cool and all

#

but the added stuff, to me, kinda muddles the cool parts of the original songs

#

so you honestly end up getting just a completely different experience

#

it's more of a sidegrade than an improvement

serene kettle
#

I haven't heard them but it doesn't surprise me

#

wouldn't be the first time they've released remixes I like less than the originals

polar osprey
#

the piano part on Rough and Decent is completely drowned out in (Natural Behaviour) by the jazz vibes

#

and the actual just vibes themselves from Steel Haze (Rusted Pride), the melancholy and yearning and everything is basically counteracted by the addition of uplifting drums and guitar stuff

#

it sorta just ends up fighting itself

serene kettle
#

The "King of 9" version of 9 immediately comes to mind as being probably a downgrade from the original. It's trying too hard to be "Mecha Dinosaur" instead of what it originally was

polar osprey
#

yeah

#

4 The Answer goes hard though

#

shits peak

#

i'm a newbie AC fan but having played AC4A, man that shit was cash

serene kettle
#

Yeah the Remember Variants actually kick ass

#

I really like Mechanized Memories too, all the more knowing that it's basically a sendoff for the series since they must have known there wasn't a new AC game in the pipeline after Verdict Day for the foreseeable future

polar osprey
#

yeah

#

wish i could try ACV but alas

#

still need to continue playing 4

serene kettle
#

yeah it really hates emulators 😔

polar osprey
#

so i can go try 3 like i think it was you actually who recommended

#

someone recommended 3

serene kettle
#

3 is on my top 5 for the series outright, so it's pretty good. It's unfortunately one of the old ones with tank controls though, and I know that throws people off.

polar osprey
#

i'm going to give it a shot

#

i'm crazy

#

i did all of collared with rockets without even being able to aim properly in AC4A so i fear nothing

Ibis my beloathed

serene kettle
#

My first suggestion for IBIS in particular is to use hardlock. Not necessarily for the whole fight but the jerk loves running circles around you and it can really help keep track of the boss

small stone
#

That’s what I’m doing

#

I’m using a LW, two sub machine guns, missiles

#

I’m on console and camera sensitivity is up to 8

#

I’ve tried almost everything so far

#

It’s been two months

eager vector
small stone
#

Yeah I panic click or she flies so fast the hard lock is lost

eager vector
#

she never flies so fast the hard lock is lost

#

You just have to not move the mouse

small stone
#

I’m on console

#

I have to move the camera stick

#

My hard lock might be defective

patent oyster
#

Dont move the camera stick after you engage hard lock, and it should stick

small stone
#

When Ibis flies off the screen is it normal for the lock to break

patent oyster
#

No

#

Ibis always flies within 300 ish meters, unless you are backpedaling

#

Hmm ok

#

A good test to see if you're hard locked or not is whether your AC constantly faces your target

#

When hard locked, the locked enemy should stay largely centered within your HUD even if you dont move the right stick

small stone
#

Hmm

#

When Ibis flies off screen the lock always breaks

eager vector
small stone
patent oyster
#

How are you engaging hard lock?

small stone
patent oyster
#

Like what inputs

#

Do you just click it down once and take your thumb off the stick?

small stone
#

Click right stick once

#

Take thumb off

#

And when ibis flies off screen, lock breaks

patent oyster
#

Are you hitting the stick accidentally?

eager vector
#

that’s bizarre

patent oyster
#

When using right thumb ABXY buttons

patent oyster
#

Either you're accidentally bumping the stick or your controller is ghost inputting

small stone
#

Fucking hell

#

And controllers are hundreds of dollars

#

Honestly I’ll never beat ibis

patent oyster
#

Can you get it returned/replaced?

small stone
#

My baseline for bosses is Balteus which took 10 times so I’ll be like X/10

small stone
patent oyster
#

Before you give up, maybe try it on other enemies first

small stone
#

Yeah I’m about to go to bed

#

I’ve died to ibis 60+ times…. All of the advice on the main discord I’ve tried but nothing worked

patent oyster
#

Go into AC test, turn the enemy AI off, and see if you circle them while hard locked and moving sideways

serene kettle
#

My S rank cheese strat for IBIS was just zimms and double stun needles, but that was a few regulations ago

#

It’s a sitting duck for the first couple seconds of the fight though, and anything you have that can stagger it then will make the first part a lot more efficient

small stone
serene kettle
#

I should try IBIS with lumberjack sometime

serene kettle
#

No, I don’t really do clips

small stone

Oh ok

serene kettle

sorry! it's just not a thing I ever really did

screenshots sure, but clips require a little more foresight

#

I will make a fucking religion to worship you

#

#

Maybe I should go back to Zimmerman

#

But etsujins is what I’ve been using and a lw

serene kettle
#

Ibis does require a fair bit of practice to reliably hit

#

And not die vs

#

It’s just so slippery

patent oyster
#

The trick with ibis is wait until it does the choreographed attacks that make it stand still

#

Its a whole lotta waiting and dodging

small stone
#

I needed to stagger somehow

#

I’m trying to get super fuckign close but it never stays still

patent oyster
#

Laser lance isnt that good for ibis imo

#

Since it pushes your target away

#

And has a fair amount of animations that you need to wait for

small stone
#

Plasma sword is infuriatingly not close enough

patent oyster
#

If close range punish doesnt work, then use zooks

#

In any case, dont fire while ibis is moving

#

Wait for it to stand still

#

And then shoot it

#

The only weapons that reliably hit it on the move are basically just missiles

small stone
#

But what about chasing it

patent oyster
#

Dont chase it

small stone
patent oyster
#

Treat it as a souls boss, circle it and dodge attacks

patent oyster
#

Rinse and repeat

small stone
#

Hmm

#

But always keep it hard locked

#

What about 1 songbird?

eager vector

Laser Lance worked great for me

patent oyster

patent oyster
#

eager vector
#

the Lance+pb incidentally clears enemy ACs super quickly also

#

and the rest of the mobs you can just skip

patent oyster
#

Theres a reason why i mostly test builds vs nightfall

patent oyster
small stone
serene kettle
#

I never liked the lance/bunk build but people swear by it for a reason

patent oyster
#

Same

small stone
#

I also can’t get the range of the pile

#

What should I use

#

Lance, Zimmerman, what missiles?

eager vector
#

6 cell

patent oyster
#

6 cell might genuinely be the best missile in the game

#

In terms of sheer utility and being well rounded

eager vector
small stone
#

Should I just do pilebunker

#

If Ibis is coming for me I don’t need to chase and misjudge range

eager vector
small stone
#

But that takes two seconds and by then Ibis is moving again

small stone
#

I counted the seconds timing and bay seems so slow

eager vector
#

if you get a full lance connect, you close distance and swap weapons while you fire the Zimmerman

patent oyster
#

Pulse blade is really good for a starter weapon no joke

eager vector
#

Zimmerman stun lasts longer than lance stun

small stone
eager vector
#

what now

#

just do lance+pb on left side zimm+6 cell on right side

#

or weapon by haldeman on the right for reload juggling the right shoulder doesn’t really matter for this strat

patent oyster
#

Honestly you dont even need missiles, you can just have zimm in weapons bay, pull it out for stunning, then use fists to extend the stun lock

eager vector
#

no need to extend really with this setup

small stone
#

After that it takes practice right

#

I’ve never heard the advice of staying back everyone said to chase

#

Didn’t give the staying back bit a chance yet

patent oyster
patent oyster
#

I mean, chasing is a valid strategy

small stone
patent oyster
#

Its just that the EASIER strategy is to play passively

small stone
#

Dual etsujin

#

Run like hell

#

But I always slipped on the lock or ran out of en

serene kettle
#

IBIS is a boss that is endlessly slippery if you play it aggressively imo

small stone
#

I’m beginning to notice that

#

Also the very familiar “oh I played AC on the PS1” when I ask why I should do something lmao

serene kettle
#

It instead demands you wait your turn after the rest of the game has taught aggression

small stone
#

Like Elden Ring

#

Hmm

#

I beat ER five times.. maybe this is the way

#

Hey wait it’s just like Margit

#

Skill check

serene kettle
#

I did play AC1 on the PS1. AC6 is a very different game

#

It has a ton of throwbacks but gameplay is wildly different!

eager vector
#

I never owned a ps1 but I played the shit out of AC2/3/SL

serene kettle
#

AC2 is for the most part pretty similar to AC1

#

controls a little smoother and the heat system is new, but it's mostly pretty similar

eager vector
#

first attempt tonight

serene kettle
#

oh wow. IBIS does less damage than I remember

#

you just kinda ate that first sword swipe and it didn't chunk off half your healthbar

small stone
#

If you can do it with a MW

#

THEN SO CAN I

#

ITS LANCER TIME

eager vector
#

hell yea

#

my first clear was heavy RJ lol

small stone
#

What’s your frame and generator?

serene kettle
#

the melee weapon that most sparks joy for me personally is actually the starter pulse sword tbh

#

the two-hit combo just looks and feels so good

small stone
#

For me it’s the Lance

eager vector
#

pulse sword is absolutely goated

small stone
#

Because lancet

#

Lancer

eager vector
#

@small stone you’re running basho arms right

small stone
#

This is the build that got me to phase two a few hours ago

patent oyster
#

You need basho arms for the beeg melee dmg

small stone
#

This is the build I’ve been trying to make fit for the past three hours

serene kettle
#

plus it actually does nutty damage when you're using it to punish stagger due to the insane modifier and it even gets PA interference for the occasions where that matters

#

just a great all-rounder weapon

patent oyster
#

You can two hit for stagger punish

#

And charged hit for hitstun

eager vector
#

the tracking and stagger on the charge hit 8ROjustright

patent oyster
#

Which you can combo into harris for instant ACS overload

serene kettle
#

god yeah I sometimes forget you can melee cancel with it just for the lunge

#

one of the weapons of all time

patent oyster
#

Honestly every other melee is either a sidegrade or a downgrade from pulse blade

serene kettle
#

so many AC games give you junk parts to start and let you work your way up

#

then AC6 just gives you deadass a contender for best melee weapon outright from the get-go

eager vector
#

using the rifle that’s what I initially thought AC6 was doing

serene kettle
#

Turner is definitely a little rough, or was on release

#

it's a lot better now

patent oyster
#

Turner is pretty good now

#

And 4 cell missiles are always solid

eager vector
#

yeah on release tho, phew

serene kettle
#

I was still using it at Balteus though because it felt good to use

patent oyster
#

Its the internals of loader 4 that are....less than desirable

eager vector
#

yup

serene kettle
#

yeah you do start with a pretty bad generator

eager vector
#

I adore the legs

serene kettle
#

and the boosters leave a lot to be desired

#

the frame parts actually aren't bad

patent oyster
#

Joso is irrideemable

#

Even p10 booster is alright

#

And the FCS is situational

#

But Joso generator is just plain terrible

eager vector
#

reppin crawler on my fav pvp build

#

rip P10SLT

serene kettle
#

I used the Tool Arm on my NG+ mech and the head on my NG++ mech

patent oyster
eager vector
#

the downside of gradient painjobs is you don’t swap frame parts around much lmao

eager vector
#

could’ve been better with ephemera but it didn’t look as good

serene kettle
#

Queen of Nails was the undisputed champion of my friend group's PVP circuit for a while too

#

completely undefeated for a while

small stone
#

So I gotta relearn Elden ring

#

Probably take a break from the chud advice from the main discord and Reddit

#

And then I can breath after ibis is dead

#

It will take 35 tries I’m calling it now

serene kettle
#

Good luck!

patent oyster
patent oyster
#

Sure you can use cheese strats and other unconventional ways to clear (i remember one person cleared IBIS by being hyper aggressive with 4 SMGs)

small stone
#

The AC playerbase is notoriously sweaty and FAST

patent oyster
#

But the most logical way to clear is to be patient and wait

serene kettle
#

the funny part is PS1 AC is actually really slow in comparison to AC6

#

just in general

#

You don't have quickboosting, assault boosting, or anything like that, and even your "skating" boost on the ground is limited by a meter (which depletes much more quickly if you leave the ground at all)

patent oyster
small stone
#

It’s either “you got this ibis took me a while”
“Damn you’re not hardlocking”
“I beat ibis first try”

serene kettle
#

I'll cop to "you're not hardlocking" because that was my first assumption watching your clips 😅

#

the blatant bragging is classic shitty redditor stuff tho >.>

patent oyster
#

There's a reason why i mostly engage with the fashioncore subreddit instead of the main one

serene kettle
#

very fair

#

unfortunately as happy as I am to get more armored core after ONE THOUSAND YEARS, the unfortunate side effect of migrating the worst parts of the souls fanbase hurts sometimes

#

on a mostly unrelated note, I learned today that the Verdict Day Servers shut down two days ago 😦

frank pivot
#

they issued the Final Verdict

#

sadge

serene kettle
#

Yeah.

#

A bigger loss than it might sound like, too - Verdict Day had significant PvE content that was only accessible through the multiplayer

#

including several bosses

#

like, you just can't fight the rebuilt Spirit of Motherwill anymore. It was only accessible through the multiplayer. There's probably still some data sorcery you could do, but it's just not possible legit now

surreal tundra
#

With some missile- or not, forgot, and a melee for punish?

surreal tundra
polar osprey
#

You can dodge most of Ibis laser spam shit with strafing and one or two well placed quick boosts so long as you use a decently agile build

#

And for the big attacks i've found some success jumping over them

#

My weapons of choice are dual machine guns paired with the 4 piece missiles for consistent and constant damage

#

I'll record a vid of the fight when i get home in a few hours as a demonstration

surreal tundra
#

Sidenote but Nightmare Fodder is a bit easier vs MT hoards if you've got plasmas fjnfg
Real satisfying lmao

patent oyster
#

all chapter 1 pre-balteus parts, and no OS tuning besides 1 level of assault armour and 1 level of boost kick (so no weapon damage boosts)

#

dual LCS dual haldeman is the go-to early game speedrun loadout

#

its just that good

patent oyster
# patent oyster

This is also what hard lock is supposed to look like when fighting ibis

surreal tundra
#

tangent, giving a player control of the ||CEL-240|| would be-
so friggin broken lmao,

surreal tundra
eager vector
patent oyster

Ngl the clear probably wouldve been better with tool arms because i would have more than 339 boost speed (ew)

small stone
patent oyster

Npnp

small stone

I can do this. I just have to believe.

polar osprey
#

I'm home finally

#

Going to grab something to drink then boot my pc up and fix that Ibis vid

polar osprey
#

here's me using my first playthrough AC to fight Ibis

#

here's the build also

#

not sure if it helps

small stone
#

Basically just gotta wait for ibis to come to me

#

And not chase

polar osprey
#

when it starts zooming around, chasing is inadvisable

#

it tends to want to do a big move which you want some range for

#

so you can dodge

quasi copper
#

honestly the biggest things about IBIS you gotta watch out for are that you can't stay in one spot when the funnels engage, and that its beam sword attacks lead the target

#

I don't think it does much else that beats ass hard

wooden nimbus
#

Re the CCC chat I didn't really struggle with pre patch Balteus but that mostly comes from an error in my programming.

#

Because I charge directly into the missiles and pray reflexes solve what strategy doesn't

#

This is not good advice but my fried little brain managed it

trail steeple

my dual smgs didn't do enough shield damage, so i used the energy sword instead

Which can add up, but if you’re getting obliterated by a combo it’s probably the sword

cursive agate
patent oyster
#

Im not gonna lie, ive never paid attention to the defense stats in the time that ive played AC6 lol

#

The only "defense" stats i build for are AP, mobility-related stats, and whether i have a utility weapon that allows me to not take that much damage (jamming bomb, shield, EULE, etc)

polar osprey
#

my builds are 0% influenced by armor stats

wooden nimbus
#

My builds: "Yeah this looks cool"

patent oyster

Aethetics over everything

Even my most optimised builds have to look good first, and i will never use some parts out of principle

surreal tundra
surreal tundra
# serene kettle This is correct

Yeah, I forgot if it was really an issue or not lmao,
I think I remember going for full Human Plus (and not noticing that my name got removed cuz I didn't have mine at the time) cuz crouching was always a pain- I am so glad it's relatively momentary in AC6. In hindsight, despite how much it can be a deathwish in certain fights/if mistimed, it feels so much worse to take about a second or so to properly fire a back weapon- I guess I stuck to missiles since then for pre-gen4

serene kettle
#

I beat nineball's ass (twice in a row) without any H+ enhancements and I can hold my head proud of that for eternity 😛

#

Admittedly only the first time was fair. For the second one I flew past him, then set up the plasma cannon in the tube at the top and waited for him to follow, then stunlocked him with it in tight confines.

surreal tundra
#

As much as I had fun with the older games I think I kinda don't like how it's almost impossible to tell if you actually hit or did damage, made fighting and losing much more frustrating I think

small stone
#

Well

#

Time to fight Ibis

serene kettle
#

Whereas 4/4A gives you basically nothing, unless you’re actually watching the number you just kinda die out of nowhere

polar osprey
#

Yeah lol

#

Took me a while to figure out 4A

serene kettle
#

Meanwhile v gives you visible screen shake and static with every hit and a big hit indicator every time you do damage

Also energy at 30%

I actually have a lot of appreciation for ACV/VD's soundtrack but it tends to be pretty hard to make it out in actual gameplay

over all the UI noises

patent oyster
surreal tundra
serene kettle

It's not the volume, it's just that there's so many audio cues for other things that it's really hard to enjoy the music

That's a good one for sure, but there are some other standouts like Stain, Forgive an Angel, Mech Dinosaur, even Dirty Worker and Why Won't You Come Down

a couple others that live in my head like Smasher and Scientist

VP-20S is kinda the "I can't fit the VP-20C" option, though I guess you're really tight on space as-is.

serene kettle

the steam whistle is the zimmerman

patent oyster
#

VP20C is overall better

#

Its a very good generator

serene kettle
#

yeah a lot of my builds run it

surreal tundra
#

Amazing

serene kettle
#

and generally probably prioritize internals over everything else in terms of using the best stuff for what you're trying to do

#

you'll notice the difference between generators in practice a lot more than you will the difference between frame parts

#

(usually)

surreal tundra
#

High stat's on your FCS can beat out the bad firearm spec on the BASHOs right?

patent oyster
#

Depends on the weapon

surreal tundra
#

Tho I guess I can't see any reason to not go close range FCSs if you're using melee weapons anyways,

surreal tundra
#

Tangent but the Firmeza legs make me think of the bayverse transformers legs/feet???

small stone
#

EDIT

#

THE PILE STRAT WORKED

#

Ibis chased me and it worked

#

I died soon after but I can do it

surreal tundra
#

Glad to hear it

#

XD

small stone
#

Well

#

My issue is it's not doing what y'all described much

serene kettle
small stone
#

It's not chasing me it's stopping and floating

serene kettle
#

There’s a difference between Basho and Nacht arms for guns but it’s not super extreme

#

FCS is way more important

patent oyster
# surreal tundra Fair, Which ones?

Basho arms have poor recoil control along with firearm spec, so rapid fire weapons will quickly lose accuracy unless you facehug the enemy

serene kettle
#

Yeah recoil control can be a bigger deal

#

Depending on specific weapons

patent oyster
#

Basho occellus works well if you facehug or use single shot weapons

#

Eg. Charged harris or zooks

small stone
#

Hmm

#

I didn't even get close the second time

#

She didn't stop at all

#

This may be more infuriating as time goes on

patent oyster
#

But it also depends on overall loadout

serene kettle
#

Note that if you’re not double triggering, recoil will almost never be an issue

surreal tundra
surreal tundra
patent oyster
#

Eg. On my main jamming pvp build, i use P01 starter FCS with basho simply because i dont use the target reticle when i manual aim

surreal tundra
patent oyster
surreal tundra
patent oyster
#

Yup

#

Well

#

The recoil buildup number is shared by arms and shoulder weapons

surreal tundra
#

But they are mostly singleshot or missile-types, so I assume it doesn't come up often unless it's a gattling-type?

surreal tundra
patent oyster
small stone
#

@eager vector so it's not stopping and it's also not chasing me but hard lock is working

patent oyster
#

If you watch my clip of me fighting ibis with haldemans and LCS, you can see that occasionally my LCS shots dont land in the same place

#

If im firing repeatedly

surreal tundra
patent oyster
#

@small stone do you have the manual aim OST upgrade unlocked?

eager vector
patent oyster
#

Your issues with hard lock might stem from you toggling manual aim by accident

#

If you've unlocked that OST upgrade

patent oyster
#

Hard/soft lock toggle is one click of the right stick, but holding the right stick down engages manual aim

#

So you might be holding it down a bit too long

small stone
#

Also what do you recommend for the second phase?

surreal tundra
#

Honestly it might be better to not take the manual aim upgrade unless you know you're good with that, or iunno

patent oyster
eager vector
#

if you’re doing lance+pb, same thing

surreal tundra
patent oyster
#

But im forced to use it as a jamming bomb user

#

If im not locked on 80% of the time anyways, why not go the other 20%

#

The "weapons" are
Explosive thrower
Jamming bomb launcher
Laser dagger
Pulse shield launcher

#

So i essentially only have 2 weapons

small stone
#

Fuck

#

I keep dying

#

That's three times now

#

I'm trying everything everyone is telling me isn't is supposed to work really well?

#

I keep losing health due to funnels or blade attacks

patent oyster
small stone
#

And by the time in at phase two I have maybe 1 kit remaining

small stone
patent oyster
#

340 should be enough to passively dodge the funnels

#

I had 339 in my clip

small stone
#

Edit no 335

patent oyster
#

Ah

#

The best config to fight ibis can sidestrafe and circle to passively dodge the chip attacks

serene kettle

I played at 270 and still could cleanly strafe the funnels my first time through

Since your EN cap isnt high

P04 is a good balanced one but not for ibis

small stone
patent oyster

Id rather take alula or even 06SPD

surreal tundra
small stone
polar osprey
#

Alula is kinda peak

patent oyster
#

swap to pulse armour if you cant dodge some attacks

surreal tundra
# small stone

Oh I didn't notice you weren't using the ALULA dndnf
I basically never switch unless it's to the NGI

patent oyster
# small stone

Not sure if a single haldeman is enough to fill the role of the zimmer

#

Could work though

surreal tundra
#

Which missiles are on? The 4 cell?

patent oyster
#

Overall, a higher boost speed will benefit you greatly

#

Since most IBIS attacks are dodged by QBing on the ground

patent oyster
#

And have smth like 370+ boost speed

#

And manual aim mouse twitching might make it seem faster

surreal tundra
# patent oyster Im also on M+KB

Maybe everything feels just a hair faster- maybe I just forgot, but anycase I'd bet it's just my laptop not being able to handle it

patent oyster
#

Oh yeah i have my camera speed at 8

surreal tundra
#

my camera speed is on 10- and anyways I'm on controller so I won't see it that much,

cursive agate
patent oyster
#

Yup

#

Just circle and wait for opportunities

cursive agate
#

In my experiences, ibis tries to sit around mid-long range, which is the opposite of most AC6 fights. Lots of fancy moves before stopping for (big) attacks.

patent oyster
#

From my experience (and from watching the absolutely insane person on youtube who beat ibis with ALL AC presets), ibis reacts differently depending on where you are relative to it

#

So its entirely possible to force it to behave in certain ways

polar osprey
#

Wonder if i defeated Ibis with Nuclear Whiplash

#

I feel like i prolly did but i can't remember

small stone
#

FUCK

#

I got so close

#

A sliver of health

#

Then I dodged straight into a beam sword

polar osprey
#

You're getting there

patent oyster
eager vector
#

that's awesome that you're getting so close! you'll have it in no time!

polar osprey
#

Keep it up

patent oyster
#

Or use pulse armour to tank

small stone
patent oyster
#

Use it to effectively extend your first health bar

#

So let ibis deplete your AP and pop terminal, then heal

modern hornet
#

A good rule of thumb for using Terminal Armor in PvE in general is to always keep at least one Repair Kit unspent so long as you have the Core Expansion. That way you can use the brief window of automatic Pulse Armor to heal up for your second wind.

polar osprey
#

I always use it as a final stall when all my healing and hp is out

patent oyster
#

Yup

polar osprey
#

But that's honestly dumb

patent oyster
#

Ngl i never needed terminal armour in pve tho

polar osprey
#

I've won pvp matches with it though which is always peak

small stone
#

Fuck

#

That's 5/35 deaths so far

#

I upped the counter to 35 because I think it might be better than 10

polar osprey
#

I have never used anything except Terminal Armor so you know

modern hornet
#

I tend to run either Terminal or Pulse Armor, myself. Particularly Pulse Armor with what I'm currently doing, which is a Curtis/Ransetsu Double Trigger build.

patent oyster
patent oyster
#

Lol

polar osprey
#

The one build i don't have terminal on is Aperture Momentum

#

Because Aperture Momentum is a stun and melt build so survivability isn't exactly a question

modern hornet
polar osprey
#

Pretty sure this has spoilers for post-Ibis parts so don't look Scribble

#

But Aperture Momentum is very funny

patent oyster
polar osprey
#

It and Nuclear Whiplash are my two NEXT equivalents in AC6

patent oyster
#

As a lightweight player

modern hornet
#

Ah, yes, the only arm part in the entire game where that particular Double Trigger setup is even remotely possible.

polar osprey
#

The only legs capable of holding it up

#

And one of two torso's capable of supporting the energy cost

#

It's an absolutely absurdly specced build

modern hornet
polar osprey
#

It's my equivalent to the overwhelming firepower of a NEXT

polar osprey
#

I have not

#

I don't like how tank legs or quads look

#

I have used them only once each for builds

small stone
#

Fuck

#

6/35

#

I'm getting to second phase now

#

Fucking long ass sigh

patent oyster
small stone
#

It's just..

#

I don't know

patent oyster
polar osprey
patent oyster
#

Though idk how much help ill be since i dont really use lance all that much

modern hornet
# small stone I don't know

Have you considered strafing back left and doing the "beep, beep, dodge"? You wait for the attack warning to beep twice, then QB in another direction when the Qubeley does a sword beam.

small stone
patent oyster
small stone
patent oyster
#

If its the 3 slashes, then dodge the 3rd in the opposite direction

#

If its the two, just dodge once

#

If its the big beam, then dodge in the other direction

small stone
patent oyster
patent oyster
# small stone

Also the attacks at 0:26 can be dodged passively without QB

#

Dont waste your EN bar when you dont need to

patent oyster
# small stone

When it uses the 3 slashes attack, use a QB (or two) to dodge the first two, then QB dodge in the opposite direction of travel to dodge the 3rd

modern hornet
# small stone

I'd also consider a Wurger laser shotgun for your right arm. Its charged attack pairs extremely well with melee weapons, particularly if you have a generator with 100+ Energy Firearms Spec. Melee builds really start coming online going into Ch.4 iirc.

patent oyster
#

Eh wuerger charged attack takes too long

#

Especially since ibis isnt stunned for that long

#

And most of that time is taken up by lance animation finishing + charged pile animation

#

If you add charged wuerger windup animation, ibis will be gone by then

small stone
#

Fuck

#

7/35

modern hornet
#

It'll guarantee a stagger if you don't manage it with the 4-ton laser pointer, though.

patent oyster
#

It looks scarier, but those attacks are essentially the same besides damage numbers i think

modern hornet
#

Ibis also gets a lot more aggressive in Phase 2 and also gets a couple new moves that can, for the most part, be dodged relatively harmlessly with verticality.

patent oyster
patent oyster
eager vector
# small stone

the 32 second mark is when you wanna start charging the lance

modern hornet
patent oyster
#

Yup

#

Ibis fight is basically just

#

A whole lotta waiting

#

And looking at some very beautiful animations

#

Until it stops moving

patent oyster
small stone
#

sigh

#

Fuck

#

It's been 30 minutes....

#

9 deaths so far

modern hornet
#

I generally prefer the mid-range band myself, and pretty much never build a lightweight AC, so I'm usually able to either dodge as much as possible and take what I can't on the chin while unloading... or just build the biggest, bulkiest tank I can and cheese the fight with flamers and stun needles.

patent oyster
#

This is the closest youve gotten so far so

patent oyster
modern hornet
#

No I have not

patent oyster
#

On a lightweight as well

small stone
#

sigh

patent oyster
small stone
#

It's like

#

Once I take damage from even one sword attacl

#

After that I lose my flow

#

Or if I miss a lance charge I get bodied by lasers

#

As soon as my HP drops a significant measure it goes downhill

patent oyster
#

Charged lance is great - if it connects

#

If you miss, you've basically immobilised yourself for a few seconds for nothing

#

It might also help to change up your combo

#

Maybe try doing lance -> zimm -> pile

#

Or zimm->lance->pile

#

Or swap the missiles with a rifle on the back

small stone
#

I'm doing both

patent oyster
#

So you can do some chip damage at mid range

small stone
#

Might as well try the dual lasers and haldermand

patent oyster
#

And keep ibis' ACS bar up

#

Or that

small stone
#

Also we are at

patent oyster
small stone
#

13/35

patent oyster
#

Lemme ping you

patent oyster
#

Its definitely not optimized at all frame-wise

#

And neither are the internals

#

All i wanted was the VP20D and the weapons

small stone
#

Yeah it does seem slow

patent oyster
#

In my clip, i was a lot more trigger happy than i shouldve been, and i took more damage because of that

small stone
#

So basically

#

Just... Wait for every time ibis is still

#

And fire lasers

serene kettle
#

LCs really do not fuck around huh

patent oyster
#

I did first try it lol, but i wanted to use all ch1 parts so i didnt show that one (which used snail head and talbot FCS)

serene kettle
#

It brings me joy to see the AC1/2 laser cannon design back here

small stone
#

Fitting the other cannon halfed my speed and caused shortfall

#

So maybe this will work tomorrow

patent oyster
#

And take the speed loss

#

As long as you arent under 350 speed
