I've been heartily enjoying the LRB shield heavy
Builds with less than 300-ish or less speed or low QB speed just feel way too slow to me
The trick is the big QBs and cornering people with AB speed. Plus when you use NGI your back-and-up backpedal is really fast
It doesn't work well if you mostly hardlock

When you see the wall of missiles it is time to assault boost into his face
This is not always a good strategy but it works for me
Have you tried pulse guns for the shield
For Balty, my major tip is stay on its ass
Most of its attacks are more dangerous at range than up close
The first thing you should do in the fight is assault boost to get underneath it - you’ll avoid the first missile barrage entirely and its a free damage opportunity

i made my first build that i've deliberately used to S-rank every mission in a row without dying
it was zimms at first but i swapped to LC🅱️ for damage output
stun needles are unfortunately insanely heavy
but ice worm is on the list and i hate playing 20 minute long attempts at killing it
and i at least like stun needles more than bringing another set of pulse guns
the stability is a bit poor
the defenses are outstanding and the mobility is good IF you're good at AB
and of course the firepower is apocalyptic

All the enemies on that level have poor explosive resistance
And for some reason flamethrowers do explosive damage
explosive is kinda just a rename of Chemical damage from ACV/VD.
in those games there was a fairly sharp divide between Kinetic Energy, Chemical Energy, and Thermal Energy weapons
so it is a little odd that flamers would be reclassified into the second one, now that you mention it
I guess out of the 5 weapon archetypes in AC6, explosives is the one that fits flames the best

Trying to make a new look for NG++ and finding myself annoyed that I can't make anything that tops my previous one in terms of shape
The fashion is a really big part of the game for me and I'm frustrated that I feel like I've hit a roadblock
yeah it can be hard to make stuff that both looks unique and interesting and also functional
i've been personally trying to focus on the weapons first and using that to force a build to work in a certain way
it's lead to making really interesting builds
my favourite of which is Aperture Momentum
basically was forced to use almost every part of the body except the head
there was also one other possible torso that i could use, the Lammergeier one, but i preferred this one
there are no other arms or legs that will work with this loadout however so it was an interesting build to make work
the DCers are always the lightweights huh

Playing with the latter and it pulls me back to how hard the game was when I was first getting used to the controls in those first few playthroughs lmao

Fair enough- I'm definitely having fun with it (Nightmare fodder, cuz I can't help it mnzxc) at least, ||retake the Dam from the PCA|| is definitely a bit of a pain, and it's a much lower pool of things you can use to clear every mission, so it's hard to do it without some adjusting to your build now and again, at least early on. The Turner for example, I find nigh useless, and stagger and mini-stagger becomes even more important to whittle down large groups and maintain crowd control. ||Retaking the Xylem/defense mission xylem|| is something I have yet to reach, but already it's looking like it'll need a lot of attempts to clear.
Ludlow (and duel Etsujin or something) has been pretty useful for it, the arm-gattling gun surprisingly less usable without a pair (also just feels like it'll run out of ammo more quickly for how much effect they have, and have maybe like 2-3x the ammo in a Ludlow, which has like 1280 ammo at least), I should try the Ransetsu RF if I can fit- the Laserblade actually gets pretty useful for how many enemies you can stagger with its charge-spin's range (I guess you could use an explosive/Songbird or Morley, but they feel less helpful in it), but pulse blade remains a mainstay, as usual, though every weapon with ammo-counts gets that boosted

I did formidable fodder recently, No Shop Purchases
It was the most fun i've had with the game in AGES
Now i'm doing nightmare fodder and i've done a pretty decent chunk of the game
The most fun part of Formidable Fodder, No Shop Purchases, is that the Nebula and Assault Armor are basically your only crowd clearing tools, so you need to be quite careful with them on the wave defense missions
It took me 4 tries to beat Redguns on that run lol

If you can outmobile them it's not too bad

They usually have higher ground speed than legs carrying equal weight because of High Speed Performance.

I can determine a lot about the fight cus I have the speed and maneuvering to control it and as long as I don't get hit I'm pretty good
Tanks tend to run kinda "I hit you with this thing and it kills you in 2 hits" loadouts I think I haven't played a lot lately so as long as I can just not get hit I'm good
I wanna try a tank just because I don't like being immediately stunned into an earshot shaving off all my AP
As cool as powerful guns are I don't really vibe with the idea that the giant war machines can be destroyed that fast
i personally found it very fun to use Morley's at short range

i've only played AC6 and For Answer personally
had a fun time beating all of the Collared Matches in FA with rockets
You know about the way the games handled in classic and V?
i've seen a bit about it, not too much
going from AC6 to FA certainly made me appreciate the controls a lot more
1-3 all boosting used energy and they didn't really have the quick boost, you'd just pulse your thrust to get the initial burst of acceleration and do a lot of bunny hopping to keep momentum

iirc AC5 was significantly more grounded compared to 4/FA
and while 6 isn't even remotely near 4/FA it's probably faster than the other games i imagine
1-3 and 5 were all more "mechs are ground vehicles that can jump"

I haven't played in a long time but my go to was dual miniguns and then the triple lasers on the shoulders
And my brain went "but I don't want to be a plane" at 4
miniguns rack up stagger and charged double shoulder will either kill or put them on the brink
the other appeal of tanks is that there is a certain simplicity to playing them
i'm also hot garbage at actually playing the game

I think the reason why people complain about tanks is because fromsoft server latency makes it almost impossible for lightweight players halfway across the world to completely dodge laglasers and zooks
In a perfect world where every country has a healthy PvP server population, this wouldnt be an issue
But now that the PvP population has dwindled to the point where everyone is forced to play on Global or JP servers, lag and latency are genuine issues
I haven't touched pvp since helldivers
So I wouldn't be surprised about that being correct yeah
Sometimes lag is so bad that people literally teleport or T pose
And it doesnt help that 80% of the weapons in this game have attacker-priority hit registration
Aka if it hits on the screen of the person whos firing the gun, it'll hit no matter what the other person does on their end

I've grown bored with AC6 as a result of the vanilla MTs, but this might make things exciting for me

The Redguns mission feels as hard, if not almost definitely harder, than when I first played through it in 1.01 lmao, before I got the hang of things
*it got easier before cuz you get used to how things work and the weapons- and also the speed increase from how they fixed the booster speeds
I skipped straight to the "Nightmare" version for this tho
also- Iunno if it got fixed/updated but handguns don't seem to rapid-fire/"hold down to fire" anymore with it?
At least in the version I have for- I think 1.05.1 or something
so Vientos are "spam-click"- I think it'd probs be more balanced in the "hard fodder" or something version but Nightmare Fodder has me swapping around- some weapons just don't seem worth it since it'd be faster to take them out one by one tahn trying to AoE them all, unless you have an Earshot/Songbird, or have the freedom to laserblade-charge 'em,
and cuz of stagger, it's almost always more ammo/time-efficient to corner off one/have two that you can dodge and fire at. especially with early weapons
At least you do get lots of ammo, for the most part
On the regular version at least, I used the Vvc Plasma Rifle because the lingering AoE burns down grouped up MTs, and Energy eats through Redgun AC defenses better than Kinetic/Explosive weapons.

If you’re not having fun doing the thing that there’s an achievement for, the achievement has failed and you should forget that it exists and do something that is either fun or beneficial instead

though some builds like Aperture Momentum would mega benefit from using Assault Armor
My guess would be to see if double LCS one-shots them
i tend to use Pulse Armor by default and Terminal Armor on light builds that are liable to get shredded in the time it takes PA to start up

the ammo running out is a much bigger concern than dying
but melee makes you stand still for way too long
laser blade might be good because of its large AOE, high damage, stun effect, and the fact that it moves you somewhat during the charge attack

Aka fly up in the air and fall down to dodge the melee, or jump and fly upwards to dodge

lost with a quite strong build when i got to defend the missile launch
the HP increase on the MTs is too titanic for the build i had, i think i need to test and see what all arms can one shot crowds of MTs with the laser blade

gonna boot the game and check how fast Dash Pinion is cause it's a pretty fucking chunky NEXT
basic walking speed is 60km/hm, cruising speed is around 300km/h unless i am flying in which case it goes up to around 350km/h, and Overed Boost goes up to about 965km/h
so no matter what if the NEXT pulls Overed it basically becomes menaingless
