#Armored Core General!
1 messages · Page 15 of 1
ohh yeah, dual Harris LRs feel even better after the minor buff they got
and they were good (imo) already
found a pic of using this specific build to beat another (the other) ||Raven||
a bullet might have your name on it, but 50 rounds per second is more "to whom it may concern"
sick decal work
ended up tweaking build and paint job
might swap the head back to the spider one…
I know what you mean. Have you seen my gradient work?
Have you tried? It’s easier than it looks, I made a little video demonstrating how I do it
oh yeah, just tried out the new moonlight, feels very good
okay yeah you can get some really good damage out of the Moonlight--tested it with the Basho arms and VE-20B
still figuring out how i want to work it into a build, though
the amount of windup for a charged attack feels not quite right on a light build
also the laser handguns now charge so fast that with the VE-20B you can accidentally fire a charged attack if you hold down the button just slightly too long
...which i'm not actually happy with because i don't like the charged attack that much xP
I think the only thing I’m sad about in this patch is how much aurora reload speed got hit by the SLT nerf
wound up using the Arquebus midweight set to recreate Evangel (AC Oracle) from Nexus
never will get tired of this fight
Snail screams so pathetically
Snails scream is unfathomably funny
the kind of thing that, if you showed it to someone they literally would not believe it was actually from the game
oh boy
NEXT to NEXT combat
turns out uuhhhh
rockets go hard?
spam a few funny rockets
what the hell is a Kojima Cannon
Mrs.Theresia is still unstoppable
oh i won
gatlings for the win
that sure is an emblem
So you know the funny super-contamination particles powering your NEXT?
Yeah that's easily weaponized into offensive systems
amazing
Literal supercancer beam guns
fuck yeah
also rocket shoulders are crazy
me when i can quick spam rockets for insane damage
From what I know of Gen 4's gameplay, rifles + rockets and/or missiles are kind of just meta for a lot of it
(specifically the high power rifles)
hmm now it's scarlet fox i can't defeat
oh well
yeah shoulder rockets go hard
me when i rush the enemy next and spam missiles
damn NEXT's are so friggin fast
lmao
fought a melee opponent and he tried to slash me
i just jumped and unloaded like, 40 rockets on him and he instantly melted
rocket spam cannot be beat
ok found a problem i can't solve with rocket spam because i in general cannot fucking see it
my AC does not turn fast enough for me to keep track of this one
NEXT vs NEXT combat is significantly more difficult compared to fighting AC's in AC6
wow so difficulty spike between collared rank 10 and 9
White Glint is nothing to scoff at
i can't really even hit it
getting utterly obliterated by it
I went dual machine guns on my 4A playthrough, I highly recommend NOT doing that
The game was way too easy and i barely learned the mechanics
which is funny cause
tfw the road block
Embarassing as hell for all the other collared fighters to l8se to a sipshit rocket spammer
White Glint being Rank 9 Collared is a dirty lie and it's really funny
i kinda figured
the collared match text does hint at it
yeah i think it's just
really fucking hard to do anything to such fast AC's with such dogshit camera control
i know it's objectively a skill issue but i actually just can't even hit the bloody thing
finally, got it
ok tweaking my NEXT and trying stuff is good
this next does some next level damage pun intended
yeah rockets are stupid
me when i fight the top collared Lynx(i'm rushing them and shooting rockets at speed)
right
beat Otsdarva lol
strongest Lynx collared vs. weakest rocket spammer
wow
just did the mission fighting White Glint and it just kinda sank into the ocean
White Glint is rank 9 because they're referencing Nine Ball
not because they're the 9th hardest Collared match, shit's not even close
oh also fair warning the Order Match with WG is harder than the mission
what regulation are you playing on
why?
you wanna play on 1.20 or 1.25 for singleplayer I think
uhh
1.40 is a pvp-only patch lmao
i see i see
also in ACfA reg1.0 WG is an unstoppable menace
i'll set it to 1.20
conversely I think in reg1.4 some Order Matches are outright broken
because their builds are adjusted into overweight
ah
game's kinda dumb like that
well i basically luck spammed rockets to win
rockets or missiles
rockets
because if you spammed rockets to victory I bow to your superior skills as a LYNX
I can't land fuckin dumbfire rockets in acfa shit's impossible
i have defeated every single collared with rockets as my primary weapon of choice
they do just absurd damage on direct hit
you just gotta get close and like
pull the triggers as fast as humanly possible
like you really just wanna go for it
my cheese for Order Matches was just
an unbelievable, shocking number of missiles
and machine guns
took out otsdarva with dual rifles and rockets
didn't do much with the rifles
rockets did most of the work
this is proof that if you are hardheaded enough you can do anything
my NEXT has really good side to side QB
side QB is very important
me making the most fucked up NEXT ever
Sorry wait what how
Or well-
More that I haven't touched lancer in a while so iunno what'd do some of that sjnfg
On second thought I just don't run melee builds that often in Lancer lmao
Closest thing we've got to a right-hand melee lmao
Also they made Moonlights benefit from EN-spec- but redshift doesn't right? How do they compare especially with BASHO arms?
Quadruple melee
You can now make moonlight hit almost (like within a hair's damage) as hard as redshift's damage
On the light attack
Which is the useful one
But the heavy moonlight attack is like a nuclear bomb now. In PvE where you can land it easily vs large bosses or groups it's quite powerful
tfw guiding moonlight
I think i like the pulse blade more overall
i should probably just use melee more
my favourite melee is still prolly laser lance
least favourite is Pilebunker
also the one Rusty uses
the spinny one
i like that one
puilebunker is extremely high risk high reward
I think rusty's weapon is honestly better
its damage is a bit less but if you ge the full combo off it can do prety good damage
Pilebunker has zero range which i hate
pilebunker's a pain but deleting staggered enemies with a charged hit is satisfying
The long animation time also gives your weapons time to reload, which is really funny with Morely (Spread Bazooka).
If you're willing to practice it a little, if you assault boost and then immediately charge the bunk, you'll slide along the ground charging
Very useful
It's like this
Charged PB has a lot of vertical range because of the spike too
fucking gods
Rough and Decent (Bad Joke) goes so INSANELY hard
that piano section gives me fucking chills
this is one of the most fun builds i've used in ages
the buffs to WLT make it so fun to just slap on dual rifles, mind alpha arms for recoil, and hose down bosses
shame about the terrible terrible melee spec but eh
i like melee
plus i like the aesthetic match of the malpha arms and the shade eye
Rough and Decent (Bad Joke) and Steel Haze (Rusted Pride) have to be my favourite tracks in the game rn
They are only good tracks in the game
And yet the trains are not running on Rubicon, curious 🤔
i think they generally just fire things out of cannons
Related in ACV's soundtrack I was particularly into the track Conservation
ACV had a baller ost in general
https://youtu.be/TusmIYX22jM?si=tXgjnPbePQUGLFab that should work?

I'm bad at link sharing in mobile
It feels like I'm being chased by a crazy person.
Foreshadowing is a literary device-
it's me, i'm the crazy person
i'm piloting my NEXT into mountain
and i'm going to win
The number of times I was beaten to death with a chunk of rebar in a mech game is uh
Not zero and that's a little surprising
I wish more tracks had stupid nonsensical vocals
Nonsense vocals are important
Verdict Day had a dlc that was just more music with some sick tracks

Just some wild fucked up remixes
the musical evolution of armored core has been one of my nerd obsessions for years tbh lol
I was initially a little disappointed in AC6's soundtrack being largely industrial noise at first, though it's since grown on me. And that was also before I heard Rough and Decent or Contact with You
Rought and Decent (Bad Joke) 🙏
The intense part of Bad Joke hitting right when ||Chatty says "You have made a BIG mistake."|| is just peak
We ||killed his Mom basically, so he's determined to do us in||
The delivery was just v good
shit's straight fire
Will never get over this image I took in like my second playthrough
"excuse me, he asked for no PCA"

Dirty Worker Feat. Fatman · FreQuency
Armored Core Verdict Day
Released on: 2013-09-25
Auto-generated by YouTube.
😌
Base Dirty Worker is also good but Fatman drunkenly singing over it really adds something
I'm totally going to add someone inspired by Fatman as an allied NPC to any Lancer campaign I ever run
Having a designated minor character who drops the PCs off at mission sites is a classic
we love our Fatmans and Foehammers
(actually Fatman isn't in any way a minor character but that's neither here nor there)
I remember the first time I played V and VD I had exactly zero idea what was happening at any point in time
All I know is Chief wants to beat the shit out of me and I want to get paid
Chief is one of the more blatant nineball-alikes
Never forget that they split the Nine-Ball analogue across a few characters in 6
Waltuh is ac6 nineball right
He is to a point
I’d say it’s pretty straightforwardly ||Allmind|| as the character archetype though.
yeah
- Walter has the red/black/silver AC with similar vibes
- Rusty is ranked nine in the Arena and is a nutty pilot
- ALLMIND is, well...
Yeah
Rusty...
it's a reference to White Glint innit?
Blame FROM, they chose to have him at rank nine!
He’s much closer to being White Glint, yes
White Glint was also rank 9
Nineball was Rank 1
despite being much more skilled
But yes it's likely more of an Anatolia's Merc-White Glint reference for Rusty
(because remember, the WG in 4a is not the original!)
i can tell you from experience, White Glint should not have been ranked 9
AC6 sequel where you have to fight Ayre's Raven
fucking deranged kinda NEXT
The original also fits rusty’s archetype tbh
But AR is in Steel Haze for some reason
though tbf i used like, the dumbest possible build so it didn't exactly help me win
Honestly I just want FROM to get their AC AI better
building a heavy NEXT and using exclusively rockets against the speed demon that is White Glint was a poor fucking choice
Because I'll be honest, very few AC on AC fights in Arena in 6 felt challenging outside of tanks being annoying
And a lot of that is down to the AI
Arena in AC6 is not difficult yeah
FROM releases a new AC game where it turns out they've been extracting our pilot data ALLMIND style
Like, everything else AI-side in 6 is fine, good even!
Just they dropped the ball on making enemy ACs a real threat outside of their mechanical build matchups
Like, compare Arena STEEL HAZE to how aggressive it could be.
i still need to try clearing the arena with my ultralightweight AC, Nuclear Whiplash
i did manage to beat both Freud and the other raven with it
Have you noticed the fights even feel harder when it's the AC in a mission compared to it's own arena variant
yeah
Yes, but even then very few in-mission ACs feel really challenging IMO
Defend the Dam Complex once you know the pattern is uh
honestly the most difficult thing for me in any scenario facing AC's or FC's or what have you was just, multiple opponents
Mostly just spectacle
Like, the only one that legitimately held me up at all ever was the optional "fight Volta and Iguazu together" fight in the alt Dam mission and that's purely from Volta having a very good tank build that is literally buffed over what it should be stats wise
the snail and Iguazu fight in that one mission was kinda annoying for me
That one's the runner up, IMO, for similar reasons; Confined space against two opponents and one has high burst stagger stuff
I dunno, just wish they could have the Arena feel like more of a climb
i found the best way to deal with thje double mission is to go after who is more fragile with a stagger melee punish to kill them before they can get a heal off
gonna try Nuclear Whiplash with a dual viento+laser dagger build to see how that plays
hmmm
Volta cheats at the dam?
iirc yes, but I do not remember where I saw that posted
ok even as horrible as i am with lightweights and how weird and probably poorly built Nuclear Whiplash is, i can still eke out wins against Freud
When i learned how to consistently nail dual melee + fist + zimm combos, almost all the AC fights in the game get yeeted after one stagger 😂 it's comedy gold
yeah
i was hyperfocused on speed
switch out the arms, weapons and added the knife
also switched fcs and generator iirc
by no means an original combination of weapons but if it works, it works
Rusty is Rubicon’s White Glint yeah, ALLMIND is the Nine Ball and if anything Walter is, like, a very traditional “overcome your mentor” style confrontation
Which isn’t really a thing for Fromsoft games usually
AC2 kinda did it, which I enjoyed
Yeah this looks waaaaay more fun
still need to fiddle with the FCS and stuff
i miss quite a lot
maybe that's just me missing the timings
it's still fast as all hell though
Ocellus is probably gonna be your best bet
yeah i thought so too
oh dang
so the Redshift is good for its double-hit,
added some warning and hazard signs to the amrs since i switched them out :)
does it deal more damage that the 2-hit of the reshift?
Walters VA does work in persona 3 reloaded gang and it’s the funniest possible role
yeee
also ofc the knife needs to also have the cherenkov radiation coloring
it's veeery fun
it's an all-around buff for the WLT right?
621 you owe me 30000 yen
whats the coam to yen conversion rate
You owe him
3 COAM
:3
I wouldn’t be surprised if COAM was like
Way stronger than any earth currency lmao
he can pry it from my cold dead hands
Walter told me i earned that money!
i'm actually enjoying the new and improved Nuclear Whiplash
it's got that stupid level of boost like a NEXT while also having a reasonable weapon setup
Look you did earn it but walters a little late on rent okay
Awful idea for the dlc, your new handler talks to u like the discord kitten meme
awful
trying to get a good run bullying Freud but i'm actually not very good at this so i keep getting stunned
and then they gave us 6+2+1=9 lmao,
Dunno if it's fully intentional but it's very fun
or just whiffing melee
noife
well, dagger, really
is that with the vientos+dagger pic you posted up there?
yes
Mhm,
the moment people figure out how to mod the AI and make them harder behavior-wise, I'll be so friggin happy lmao
I remember doing it with at least one Wuerger,
if you're close enoughf or a wuerger you're probs close enough for a dagger hit
*charged wuerger
so punch-dagger
i do like Nuclear Whiplash a lot now
pretty close
yeah the dash distance isn't the furthest with it,
I think I had a pulse blade too? forgot tho
but pulse blade can help close in for the other close-range stuff I think,
God I love Pulse Blade
I had to force myself to stop using it on later playthroughs
it just feels amazing to use
also going to give myself a break on the skill diff since this was my main AC for like, 95% of the game:
I feel a touch concerned about how it generates the force in its first swing lmao
*as in in-universe
mrrew!
and this is the upgraded version of that which i've been using for the other 5% of the game
gun down with WLT?
Mrrp XD
very much went with the dualie machine gun and rockets spam
I mean,
just hold down the triggers the entire fight
yup
I'm actually not sure
Mrrew,
Also- wild, didn't realize how much more damage the redshifts could pull over it
oh my god.
that's way too good
Yeah it was even worse before the patch. Redshift-ML was just outright way stronger.
trying to pair anything that isn't laser lance with moonlight and the oscillator just barely never hits the mark on actually staggering
it gets close but it never actually succeeds
the mine launcher is almost perfect but it takes forever to switch from it
Huh,
I mean fair for a Coral Moonlight I guess,
wait wha-?
Like, the oscillator doesn't hit?
barely never hits the mark on actually staggering
My brain exploded trying to read that one haha
yes
sorry just need to process mzncx
like it almost always got to just barely staggering
but never actually hit the threshold
when i use it after building up the stagger on an enemy a bit it never quite managed to actually stagger
granted, that's an uncharged hit
but the charge hit is incredibly unwieldy
Oh yeah imo even after the buffs moonlight and redshift ML are purely pve weapons
They just don't hit hard enough to justify using them over the plasma whip
mm- well, I think you could open with it and then stagger with the rest/hit with it again on the final hit- actually not sure how it goes practically,
ahhh
but in PvE they're as good/better choices or-?
Cuz admittedly I don't think I fully swapped over during my no-shop run lmao
Honestly you can use like whatever in pve and you should IMO. PvP is so restrictive on usable weapons
i've just been doing whatever i want in PvE
Moonlight is hella cool
it do be
it is super cool
I'm sad they had to nerf auroras via the p10SLT lock time nerf
admittedly I think I prefer the Oscillator's style- maybe if it had a bit more in the back/before the attachment point lmao
the attachment of the oscillator is so ass
it looks awful
but it's super cool to use
if it had a bit more like- of a "tail"? I think it'd be better lmao,
yeah
it's otherwise pretty cool
if the attachment point wasn't literally at the absolute end of the weapon it would look ok
think i'm going to play around a bit more with the updated Nuclear Whiplash
Also i've come around on single Curtiss in PvE with pulse blade
the dagger is very fun
It does enough stagger
did it get buffed in the recent update?
yeah, tho sometimes I swap to the Laserblade in PvE if I know I'm against some bigger groups or I know I can catch 'em with the swings
mm,
i think i achieved what i wanted with Nuclear Whiplash while still having it be a pretty balanced build which is nice
it was fully inspired by NEXT's from AC4A and i got the kind of speed based shit with just tons of boosts
while still having it be reasonable for a fight
how fast does it go?
i think it's like 394?
you can get higher than 400 but it's not going to be particularly playable
hrm, I'm not sure if jumping would help
I figured- I hope we get faster in general lmao
like the jump in AC4 to ACFA lmao
same
i've played some AC4A recently and gods it's so fucking fast
it's fun
but it would also massively benefit from updated controls and lock-on
like I don't mind if it's not as extreme or if they figured out some ways to make it much more manageable while still being quite fast for us and in-universe lmao
the controls are pretty garbo and i've had a lot of difficulty with actually tracking NEXT's during fights
going to play around more with Nuclear Whiplash tomorrow anyhow
mm mm,
need to practice using the viento's
and the dagger honestly
maybe get some stickers and stuff going
Made some glow stickers for Nuclear Whiplash so it looks like the radiation is kinda leaking out of it
All blue to look like Cherenkov radiation cause that's the vibe i was going for
I think it's almost my favourite build by now
The concept and detailing is really fun and the combat style is pretty good too
Really happy with my goober ass radiation themed lightweight boi
have you practiced using quickturn at all?
a lot of ac4a can be played by staring at the radar and quickturning in 90 or 180 degree increments to get the baddie on your screen
ALSO get a head with a high Camera stat
Tried
It's kinda annoying to do
hmmm so, haven't played AC6 in a long while and finally decided to try out the new part
I really think of nothing on the new shoulder minigun at first, but it's actually really good at staggering enemies?
I use it on my usual energy focused VE-20B light build, and it just staggers
i wanted to fit Javelin B on the other shoulder slot, but the weight limit is just a touch too low
i have learned to love the shoulder gatlings
at first i felt like they overheated too quickly, but that's balanced out by how quickly they cool back down
you want to pump and dump them basically
get close, burst, and more than likely your target is staggered
if you also have ballistic hand weapons, it's almost certain
you only have to hold it down for a short moment thankfully
it just feels wierd to do for me cause i play keyboard and mouse
i had a build for a bit that was twin shoulder gatlings for building stagger, zimmerman for burst to get it over the top, and then pile bunker for punish
same, but one is manageable to me
it wasn't the absolute best but deleting people with a charged bunker hit was fun
some people use four gatlings at once
just imagine that
my standard controller grip only gives me one finger for each side, so any scenario where i have to fire the shoulder and arm weapons on the same side at the same time is rather awkward 😅
honestly, the new weapons that give me the biggest headache on how to use it is the heavy laser cannon
maybe i should practice the Armored Core grip
or heavier laser cannon I guess
yeah, it's just a bigger laser cannon, but also, the default laser cannont is already quite good
it also weighs like a goddamn truck
I guess it works for heavier build, but it's like, ehhhhh
it was really nasty in PVP for a while before they nerfed it this patch
ah
although granted, part of that was the shoddy netcode making charged shots difficult to dodge xP
yeah. 2x laser cannons, usually but not always on tank legs, high energy firearm spec
double charged blast with a large AOE, takes off like half to 3/4 of your health if it hits
i should tool around with some of my shoulder laser shotgun builds again. i think they got tuned up a bit, and i'm still convinced they can be good
The sound of it tho is-
Hella fun lmao
basically the new back laser has variable-charge- charging it most of the way is your normal charged shot, all the way (akin to Karasawa) gives you big lingering-effect beams like Arquebus Balteus
it was the latter especially that made 'em real frustrating to fight against with the PvP netcode
up until this nerf in the new patch
oh, it's not a one two state?
afaik no, there's a middle-charge state
though do not quote me on that
I don't use 'em much outside of like
a match of testing
hmmm okay
but yeah the new back gatlings are fun
can alternate machine guns or miniguns/back gatlings for constant hosing of bullets
iirc they have good direct hit adjust?
haven't looked in a minute
https://youtu.be/_mk3dVgoAV4
Made a funny™️
Two legendary mercs and their ACs square off- unfortunately, only one is a NEXT.
BGM:
Armored Core 4 OST - Fall
fixed up the radiation leaking decals a bit
i think it looks nice
adds a bit of visual flavor
looking very nice there
Man a sick ass lancer game would be playing some rubiconians on the ground during the Liberator ending
that's extremely true
Have someone playing Ziyi in an SSC frame
Today is Friday in California! Post shooteing Iguazu!
I don't want to drive an MT 😭😭😭
they’re on camera bc they have some scavenged new gen ACs :3
AC6 but we give someone a NEXT
does punch count
yyes
The final boss of AC:VD is a surprise NEXT that you're stuck fighting as a Normal
it's actually quite a lot like a faster Balteus
AC6 has a heavy combat NEXT called Balteus
BAWs/RaD machines are made on Rubicon by Rubiconians
I have a real appreciation for BAWS stuff
it's very IPS-N
robust and no-nonsense
do enjoy that
Well, Basho actually is somewhat nonsense in that all its parts are minmaxed one way or another
forced everyone to use the arms for melee builds
Yeah I like the basho arms but I do think the minmaxing was a little excessive there
If there were an alternative set of arms with comparable but lower relevant stats or if Basho arms were meaningfully minned elsewhere such that there was a real cost to it, it'd feel like more of a legitimate tradeoff.
they’ve got terrible load limit at least
and the recoil control matters
sometimes
Yeah, but load limit on arms is not usually a dramatic limiting factor
especially since most of the melee weapons are on the lightish side anyway
and when you're using a melee weapon, your recoil will generally be less of a problem too since you're only firing one recoil-generating weapon
yea
I wish basho frame was less ugly
It’s one of my favorites, but i like boxy shitkickers
i need to play some alternative playstyles
having a lot of fun with Nuclear Whiplash despite being so different from my normal fare
idk if i could like, complete missions with it
but i can certainly do a decent 1v1
it can run the arena gauntlets
gonna see if it can take Walter
try double melee
Are you on pc or ps?
pc
Nuclear Whiplash clears Walter
lmao, it clears with an S-rank even
Ayre is more of an obstacle
but it dodges like
all of her attacks super easily
speedy enough to just outmove them
Yeah ultralights and lightweights are for playing the "don't get hit" game
If you do get hit your staying power is non-existent
yeah
so far my biggest problem is lacking damage against Ayres shield and just, not hitting cause target lock is slow
she's fast as fuck so it's hard for me to hit all my shots
also my knife does like
no damage
so it's even more difficult cause i gotta get the shield down with low damage shots then attack for low damage
yeah it's definitely a build that can kill Ayre
i'm just not good enough to do it
interestingly i can super easily dodge the melee attacks sometimes and sometimes i just get hit constantly
started modding AC6, mainly so I can try out new part combos for looks
it's actually pretty interesting and very cool how old parts mix with new
surprised we didn't see a NEXT or something similar
the closest is like
balteus
or ||waltuh in the liberator path||
Good that repair costs matter in S-ranking the missions
Jav Alpha has been really nice for S-ranking
like
my current generalist S-rank attempt build is a midweight with Jav A, coral oscillator, medium dual missile launcher on left back and 6-cell standard missile launcher on right back
works like a charm
oh man y
y'all
i
i think i might be dropping ac6 pvp
entirely
and replacing it with tribes ascend
I keep missing my shot to sit down and load into an actual match
but I'm hype as hell, I've spent a bunch of time in the training modes
set a pretty good time in Time Trial
Niiiice
I had never played before tonight but i got 6 blue plate specials in my first match
Just ignore that i died 9 times 😂
so, turns out that the new core has high gen number, so it can make use of even a tiny generator on something like this thing, plus the fact that it's very light
thankfully, you can pad out its defense with other more sturdy part
it can really just carry a ton of crap
Oh that thing is cool
cool build
Oh did they buff lammer core?
👆
lmao
did people stop playing 3v3 ranked drastically, I am having 0 matcmaking rn
and ive been waiting for some time
FUCK YEAH
finally defeated Ayre with Nuclear Whiplash
got an S-rank too!
just need to defeat ||ALLMIND and i'll have fought and defeated all three end bosses with Nuclear Whiplash||
actually really happy i managed to defeat Ayre
unsurprisingly insane mobility means if you are good you can hella dodge her attacks
even i was able to dodge most of her melee attacks by just being so fucking fast
yeah she actually has some pretty generous telegraphs
she's fast but imo she's actually easier than IBIS
IBIS is in my experience much easier
i've yet to lose a fight against IBIS
gods i still hate the ||ALLMIND FIGHT||
||the fact that it has minions in the first and second phase makes this fight so fucking un-fun to do||
I had significantly more trouble with IBIS than Ayre, even on a second playthrough
yeah idk, i've really fought it with Pale Painter and Ruber and i guess they just didn't have a problem defeating it
yeah i really do still despise this fight
aside from BAWS arsenal this is easily my least favourite thing in the entire game
I really don't get the struggle with the ||ALLMIND|| fight either tbh. I did die a few times but almost always to the last phase, where there are no longer adds. The adds just weren't a struggle.
currently running Nuclear Whiplash which has like no health
also very little damage capital aside from the dagger
which the shitty fucking adds like to capitalize on by shooting me while i'm trying to damage
all that aside i hated the first phase even when i was using Ruber
I should try beating ||ALLMIND|| with Lumberjack, just for the meme
fist and chainsaw, baybeeee
oh yeah
i wanted to go fight ibis but i need to get through the rest of that mission first
the only time I really struggled with the ||ALLMIND|| fight myself was clearing it on an ultralight
due to having an AP deficit
I do not think fromsoft should be allowed to make multi healthbar bosses anymore
yeah
IBIS was significantly easier than ||ALLMIND||
beat it first try
S-ranked that too
ok i beat ||ALLMIND|| with Nuclear Whiplash
s-ranked too
Yeah, at least I kinda warmed up to the arms being boxy- and at least they're not actually as big as you might think sometimes lmao, or- iunno guess I got used to it
Works on a lightweight at least
Yknow I think some unused dialogue implied that Ziyi's using a repaired Steel Haze- the 'Schneider frame' or something IIRC
If it's not size-reliant the ||IBIS series|| generally might count/be closest, ||Walter's HAL is an IBIS series after all, and is probs weaker than the SOLs||
Yeah
Cut dialogue in Liberator confirms it
anything would be an improvement over her old mech, lmao
she has probably the saddest npc mech in the game
My hiatus has led me to this moment.

At least Steel Haze is pretty decent lmao, would maybe take a bit for her to adjust but yeah XD

Therapist is good now??!?
only in pvp I suppose
hmmm
maybe I could try it in pve...
It was overbuffed for a short time, and got nerfed a few days after
👆
Jumping back in after a long ass break after hitting my first wall at coral convergence
Thinking about making a heavyweight build
What kinda loadout? Laser lance+pilebunker made coral convergence a cakewalk
It got nerfed within 48 hours
Depressing
Though it was insanely broken
Borderline hitscan at 300 meters
Not sure yet, at the moment I'm tooling around with the chaingun and laser lance/songbirds getting the controls back
okay, getting to phase 2
with a zippybuild
Got it!
14x missiles, laser lance, turner
Ludlow just didn't gave the range
Adds are just annoying
Like, sometimes you get randomly clipped from behind or one of the vesper copies decide to just kick you randomly while you're shooting big things
Yeah
Hell yeah!! I got on my sixth attempt, just happened to be running a build that wrecks ibis https://youtu.be/MulZAPDOrzE?si=pgR8kdFaqKq76vLQ
made a fucked up little robot with absolutely zero tolerances in the build
behold my new fella
Aperture Momentum
cannot have other arms because no other arms can hold both the guns, can't have different legs cause no other legs can hold the weight, can't have a different torso because no other torso can boost the EN enough for all the parts to work out :)
fucked up little fells with absolutely zero tolerances
actually i lie you can also do the lammergeier torso and some tank legs for the weight but i don't use tank legs and i want this to be more tanky so no lammy torso
i like making fucked up little robots
might switch the Morleys for songbirds
i just need some kind of big dual cannon on the back to just fuck someones shit up with and do big stun damage
morleys have nice hit chance at short range but i might switch to songbirds cause they also have pretty bad fall off
lmao yeah the firepower on heavy weapons is real
new AC, missile rat this time
i call it Wave Pressure
concept is basically just constantly being able to pressure an enemy with missiles
Probably not the best build but i think it's kinda neat
I'm pretty disinterested in making things any sort of meta so i just like to think of an idea and try to make it work
Color scheme is based on ocean colors and the weapons are seals
I did a gundam
yeeeeeeesh, that's clean as hell!
any story behind it?
sick
cool stuff
Hehehe
if it's fast, it's probably decent pvp build
just run away and shoot missiles
It is fast
Long range fcs and go
indeed
made another AC
this time: fire
dropping stars on my enemies(missiles and fire)
earshot and jvln for stun and flamethrower and napalm launcher for damage and area denial
doesn't work super well against other flyers but it does funny thing to more ground locked units
A bazooka tank ragequit on me 😌
I miss my x wing
I miss my tie defender
😭 armored core filled the starfighter hole in my heart for so long but alas
Man, I should [play through the squadrons campaign again
Attention Armored Corers, Fromsoft has lied to us
RJ legs are actually not RJ
what
whoa interesting
My skelten
it's a really fun campaign
the AI is kind of miserable to fight but the flying is so gooooood
even the broken acceleration model and pinballing is very fun
i was badly addicted to competitive squadrons, i was lead flex on Stormchaser for like 3 seasons and then got onto Tempest for my last season haha
Something something maximillian
Really want some BAWS melee weapons
I love the laser blades but physical weaponry is also sweet (pilebunker doesn't count)
Or even some stuff from RaD
Giant wrench hammer from RaD 🤤
Which corporation would be most likely to make the D/D288?
RaD would 100% do something like that but then Balam made the pilebunker
dafeng?
Chainsaw?
we already have a chainsaw
Yeah, but like
More so that the physical dozer weapon exists
Someone on reddit
Finally found it
The allmind D
where's my BAWS zweihander fromsoft? where is it?
Mass Blade
Over Weapons (Ultimate Weapons in NA) are extremely powerful one-shot weapons that take the Place of both your bay units and permanently (for the duration of the mission/battle) Eject your right arm before use.
anyone got tips for landing the pilebunker? keep missing the darn thing and I really wanna learn how to use it better
start the charge right after a qb and you’ll maintain your momentum
getting a last hit with certain weapons cause a longer stun than others. It’s better to finish filling up stagger with the Zimmerman than the laser lance.
- hard lock
- stagger enemy
- start an assault boost
- hold the DELETE button (charged pile bunker)
You'll slide along at high speed while charging the bunk
hard lock?
There's 2 kinds of lock
Soft lock, where you just keep the enemy on your screen
And hard lock, which locks your camera onto the enemy
If you're on controller you click down right stick to hard lock
On pc it has its own button
hard lock's downside is that it's less precise against moving targets than softlock
(i.e., for ranged weaponry)
ahhh, gotcha, ty
unfortunately I find that the limit on the camera sensitivity means that it's preeeetty hard to stick to soft-lock when up close/in melee and you're on a controller- I just end up using the Ocellus or other if I'm gonna be fighting that close
I don't own a controller anyways, mnk works fine for me
lucky, I can't use that very long cuz hand strain
unlocked the coral rockets today
external screaming
Did my first run a bit ago with this mech for the majority of the game I love this mf
(NG++ spoilers) ||I hate to say this but Allmind! Iguazu is kicking my butt||
You should try using those guns with arms that have any recoil control lmao
I didnt even know that was a thing tbh lol
A lot of the stats confused me
lmao
So I just went with what I enjoyed playing and looking at the most
that's the exact same arm gun combo i used to beat 2/3 of the runs i did
idk how much i used them the first time around since i was still unlocking stuff during that
but i used them on NG+ and NG++
Easily my fav gun combo other than double zims
it's great
I swapped between those 2 alot
this is my AC, Pale Painter
I wish I was more creative with my colorway but unfortunately the simple all black is too good to me
basically if you use different arms, when you’re holding down the triggers your stream of bullets will stay tighter longer
with those arms you quickly start firing in a cone instead of a line
if you’re staying super close it won’t really matter
like, kissing distance
it's not that bad honestly
i used that combo throughout the entirety of NG+ and NG++ and i didn't have much in the way of significant difficulty dealing with anything
Recoil control is weirdly specific
Yeah, the game is very beatable playing unoptimized
i wouldn't worry about it too much basically
Like you'd think you want it for high recoil weapons like the machine guns or gatlings but in practice they kick out too much recoil to really control
I think the gatlings even fire too fast for recoil control to kick in
unless you're doing PvP or trying to S-rank every mission you don't really need to optimize things
There's a 1/20 second delay and gatlings fire 20 rounds per second
Even if you try to S-rank, you don't need to super optimize
Yeah pretty much
What part?
Correct, recoil control is useless for gats. It’s very useful for machineguns tho.
Laser orbits are really nice rn after their buff
Have a variation of my main lightweight twin rifle build with dual orbits on its back and the combo of kinetic rifles + laser orbits kinda shreds
||so the first part I can get through fine albeit it's annoying due to the other ACs, also the KRSV hits very hard
the second part I can scrape through but catching up to the boss while dodging the sea spiders is a bit of an issue
the third part is usually where I've run out of repairs and terminal armor and thus get beaten||
||i think that fight is probably my least favourite in the game due to the fact that the first phase is so obnoxious and they have the annoying adds in second phase as well||
||the fact that it's both a three phase fight and the fact that it has adds in two out of those three phases just makes it absolute misery to do||
And my main build is highly single-target focused (Laser Lance + Pilebunker)
Eventually had to rotate through the explosive thrower and then redshift
Any AoE is good AoE
Oh you can totally just bum rush the main target in phase 1! Have you tried ignoring the adds?
Also if you're willing to wait around and backpedal a lot, you CAN backpedal backwards around the arena and eventually ||iguazumind|| will zoom forward and swing its sword at you
did not make a lick of difference for my enjoyment of the fight
it still absolutely sucks and i think it's poor design still
I do agree that the adds are programmed to simply be annoying
their only purpose is to make the fight obnoxious and chip away at your health making the whole thing harder
they add absolutely nothing to the experience
I disagree and wish they had full ACs and AI, but I also get where you're coming from
i could accept two alternatives
It'd be cool to fight like a mix of redguns, vespers, and iguana
Why not?
you're just sticking two bosses together if you do that to make one obnoxious mega slog
i'm ok with fighting a group boss and i'm ok with fighting a multiphase single boss but don't put those two things together
it becomes an enormous slog and hell on resource management
and it always makes it so you have to make sure you do well enough in the first phase or it just doesn't matter in the others because you will never have the resources to win unless you're insanely cracked and can just do the entire fight without even needing healing items
two phase group fight i could dig
three phase single boss fight i'm totally fine with
but when you stick them together it just becomes annoying
you can even do a middle phase with adds or extra combatants without it being awful, but making 2/3 phases adds and then adding the big super boss shit at the end just makes it annoying to deal with cause you gotta constantly do well enough on the first phase, then pace yourself on the second phase if possible, and THEN have a chance of winning on the third when all your shit is gone and you're ragged from getting caught by strays constantly thanks to adds
that's how i feel anyway
i enjoyed every boss in AC6 except that one for a reason
and i've redone all of them a bunch just to test myself or get a better feel for them
||ALLMIND|| is the only one that genuinely was unenjoyable to do and where my struggle did not feel like it was mostly to do with a lack of skill or a poor build
getting gunned down by adds in the first phase while you are trying to get it over with was not a rewarding experience
imo at least
to compare it to other multiphase fights like Gael and Friede from DS3, their first phases can be learned and fairly easily bypassed, and the fight then just becomes a matter of learning the next phase to get more resources and experience until you get to the final one and have enough to beat it, it doesn't feel like that for ||ALLMIND|| because it's really difficult and annoying to try to account for the fact that you have four mobs constantly shooting at you while you're trying to dps the boss which can both do a lot of damage and potentially stagger you and put you at the mercy of all 5 of the enemies in the phase, the adds in the second phase are not nearly as obnoxious even though they aren't necessarily either easy to keep track of while you are fighting the main boss but they still do wear you down for the third phase
the adds take what i would otherwise consider to be a perfectly fine prelude fight and make it into a resource sink that is difficult to do much about
i don't mind difficult battles but i don't think they add any complexity or skill to the fight and simply make it more of a random chance roadblock
how are they a resource sink if you don’t have to fight them? They’re more like funnels that the boss has- extra stagger punish if you’re not quick or you’re careless
Because they are constantly shooting at you when you are trying to kill the boss. All the times i've fought the boss, using various build, i've never really had an attempt where i could meaningfully avoid them while taking out the boss in a timely fashion, long range, medium range, melee builds
They always do a hell of a lot of chip damage or stagger me in the case of melee stuff which leads to just straight up damage
i've beat the boss with quad gatlings, i've beat it with dual rockets and dual machine guns, i've even beat it with a stagger dagger build(my boy Nuclear Whiplash)
The first phase was an annoyance every time
I'm probably biased but i've yet to have a single fight with ||ALLMIND|| that i thought was at all enjoyable so i really don't like it at all
I just played a twin rifles lightweight in that fight in my most recent replay (dual Ransetsus and a MOONLIGHT) and as long as I stay mobile I don't have much trouble with phase one besides getting poor luck on dodging KRSV beams
Only part of ||IguazuMIND|| I have trouble with is phase three and that's purely from the boss' reach on their swipe attacks
The trash mobs in phases one and two are more or less ignorable so long as you stay mobile; the weak ||AI-ACs|| in the first phase die really quickly too
Tried killing the adds but that lead to ammo problems in phase 3
My first clear was with a heavy RJ lance+bunker and zimm+birds. I didn’t know you didn’t need to clear the adds, but honestly doing it was a lot of fun for me- my build is highly ammo efficient, tho
Yeah, ammo efficiency is a build thing mostly; if you're using ammo inefficient weapons just ignoring the trash or baiting them into an AA blast or something is a better option
I tried running the fight with a KRSV build and it was a lot less fun because of how tight on ammo that gun is
Adds was an absolute no-go with Ruber or Nuclear Whiplash
since they both use weapons with low ammo count
Doesn't whiplash use double ludlows?
it used to
this is the current Nuclear Whiplash
I beat ||allguazu|| first try with dual ransetsu RFs and dual laser turrets
The giant hitbox really made it easy for the laser turrets
1x Gatling can be controlled but 2x Gatling is too much for any arms. Same situation with the 4-panel Pulse Gun since it shares Gatling Recoil and Fire-Rate.
this robot has 1 attitude stability
The only one that matters
I have reached a point in AC6 where people are consistently logging out instead of losing and I thought there was a penalty for this going in
The more alarming part is I'm not losing as often
i havent played in a hot minute but
its funny, every update my main ac gets better and better lmao
like, i log on and it has 1700 stability, then i log on next update and it has 1800, and now post-1.06 its pushing 1900
as a REVERSE JOINT
that is ABSURD
plus like 2k more AP
lmao nice
It also has 394 speed :)
Go fast
Nothing else matters
cant go fast if ur instantly staggered lmaoooooooooo
there r diminishing returns for higher and higher boost speeds
as in u sacrifice more and more for higher speed, but like, after a certain point theres no real benefit to higher speed
stuff like the nachtreiher legs offsets that to a point
but its like, sure ur 2 mph faster but u have sacrified hundreds of attitude stability
the faster you go, the easier it is to dodge but the more punishing the mistakes get
its why we moved away from lightweights entirely
Ain't nobody gonna hit me cause i'm Z O O M I N
This is TRUE adherence to Core Theory
Also the entire concept of Nuclear Whiplash was speed
This is even the reworked version of it too
Which is slower but has a more manageable weapon set
Nah i get what you mean
I just thought i'd explain why it's like that
Since speed is the core concept of the AC, tuning it to be more reliable would simply make the build pointless
I think there is beauty in taking a concept like that and trying to perfect it
thats what i did with my last lightweight AC, Chimera
Even if it does not serve a real practical use and creates an AC that isn't really that good
It's more so about the philosophy than it is the actual function
i had a design concept
which is just, lcs spam lmao
and i had a few midweights that used the loadout??? but i always wanted to further refine and trim the fat
until at the very end i had an ultralight with vientos and dual LCS cannons and it kicked ass
it's the same thing i did when i designed Sky Rain and Wave Pressure
(Sky Rain and Wave Pressure for reference)
Sky Rain was born from the concept of a barrage of fire from above and Wave Pressure was the concept of an unending missile barrage
also made Aperture Momentum, who is just kind of a big fucking bruiser
from bloated RJ to a walking laser array
run up, stagger the balls off the enemy AC and then just fucking blast them
i havent actually played with CHIMERA in a hot minute
but it was my main for the campaign
also i will say
whatever reservations you may have about Nuclear Whiplash and staggering
it beat all three end bosses of the game
SOLANUM is my new competitive pvp AC
so it's not bad
you can beat all three end bosses with jailbreak
true
but ye i really like the color scheme
but i'm not that good and i still managed to do it with Nuclear Whiplash
i wish the nacht parts fit a little more into my playstyle niche
nacht parts look good
i really want to like the torso in particular but the shitty booster efficiency adjust really holds it back
makes sense
idk i don't think i'm going to play much PvP personally
adherence to metas and stuff restrict my creativity
and i think it just becomes unenjoyable if i have to run certain things to be able to play well
there are a lot of ways to win its just, u need a well put together bot and good piloting fundamentals
like at the end of the day there are definitely builds that are Much Better than others lol
like, SOLANUM is brain off pvp, CHIMERA is like,,,,,
i'm pretty happy with Ruber
along with most lightweights lmao
SOLANUM's whole thing is chaining shotgun blasts and kicks together
its a combo thats sometimes impossible to break out of, and specifically punishes the fuck out of ACs with low attitude stability
RJ kicks are TERRIFYING
especially when you put as much weight behind it as you can
Ruber is mostly just kiting and consistent damage
stay at mid to close range, shoot as much as possible, missiles
my playstyle is very much about consistent damage
Pale Painter was my AC for like 90% of the game
ur acs are so pretty wtf
i spend a lot of time with color
not all of them are bangers but i do spend a good amount of time making sure they have fitting colour schemes
(in order these are: Double Sunrise, Cost&Benefit, Shale Viper and Slow Cooker)
the most notable feature of all my AC's is that all of them feature my emblem on the head
no shoulder weapons, no nothing, just a karasawa and redshift
yeah that's very pretty
hide behind building, pop out, KRSV, redshift, hide again
the purest form of dance
nice
also this guy
hes silly but he also hurts my brain because
not optimal
man has a whole 1 attitude stability
another dancer, SNOWBIRD
this one i dont use much
i think Aperture Momentum is one of my cleanest builds appearance wise
also very funny build
also how much attitude stability is like
fine
cause Nuclear Whiplash has 1346 attitude stability and i honestly have no idea if that's good or not
how do the bullet orbits do at high speed? i’ve been meaning to try them
absolutely godawful
anything under 1600 is paper thin
most competitive builds have like, around 2000-ish
Aperture momentum has 1866 stability
ruber has uhhhh, 1609
i don’t even have a concept of stability
you don’t need to be stable if you’re so fast the bullets don’t hit
for Aperture Momentum there isn't anything i can do about it though
the build literally cannot be altered unless i switch out the weapons which is the entire point of the build
i’ve been trying to push my speed past ~375 but i can’t do it without sacrificing the good looks
the alba core is just too cool
fair
