#Armored Core General!
1 messages · Page 5 of 1
||right but that still doesnt say too much about the general scale of human civilization||
|| What was known about Coral is that it caused voices to happen in augumentation's, and ingested like a drug. From what we know, they never considered coral a species and was just a really good universal thing. ||
||I mean I guess but like, when dealing with worldbuilding we kinda have to assume if it’s not pointed out to us, it’s normal||
||So unless it’s pointed out that humanity is near extinction, we kinda gotta assume the population is fine||
lightest nuker build i could think of
||"However, one must not overlook the signs of mutations within the Coral brought about by this density effect: it is mutations such as these that will bring about a collapse that humanity has no hope of controlling." <- straight from a data log you can find in-game.||
@summer trellis try out the vientos
they generate a lot more stagger to get off nuke punishes 😄
|| They still considered it fuel. Or...whatever universal thing it was considered. Mutations just means that something changed permanently in the coral.||
Also vins don’t feel good to play
got through a lot of NG++ today (strider to depths 2) and finished off by working on a new build, Knight Errant
I haven't had the chance to try it out much but it seems pretty good
||Coral tries to pack itself together as densely as possible, and it grows exponentially faster the denser it gets. (Seemingly violating conservation of energy.) Overseer was worried about Coral reaching the vacuum of space, where it could achieve near-maximum density and grow without limit, probably collapsing into a black hole, which might or might not continue to grow exponentially.||
no spoilers please
I might still be missing some non-frame parts
nod frame, non internal parts, I have those achievements.
3 hidden achievements remaining
found the last weapon, which is the last part. 1 hidden achievement remaining
have u s-ranked everything?
wait no of course u havent u just finished
i believe thats the last one but i could be wrong
ugg. I A ranked act 1 in my first playthrough. S rank does not sound appealing
Just got my first Nest win ever...
for most missions I don't think S rank is that bad
I've replayed some to get combat logs and stuff and just got S ranks without trying
Some missions are a build challenge, others may take specific routing to go fast enough
I think m entire NG++ run, aside from a few ct 1 missions, were done with Spring Chicken Gats/Songbird/stun needle
s-ranks vary in difficulty but they're mostly just time-consuming
only a few missions are truly hard to S-rank, yeah
it's usually just a case of finding a good build to zoom through
speed is usually paramount
Do you think the PCA has space rangers
Or has america surpassed science fiction yet again
Nah they don't have any, they have an extremely specialized tool they use called fuck off massive laser satellite
well, and a fleet of ships (as seen in ||the Karman Line||)
So
NG++ ending question
||does allmind wanna hijack the coral to make a hive mind for herself? It seems like she ate a bunch of people’s consciousness||
idk, i subscribe to the ||she just wants to support mercenaries as she was programmed to, and the best way to support them is to make them evolve or something||
||typical AI, always the same||
Just learned the hard way that arena opponents have infinite ammo
Spoilers and such
what range benefits the coral rifle? honestly I think I rely more on the drones/melee with how the build is meant to be setup- but very much "fashioncore/only just a bit overloaded"
Ocellus was another bit of Institute/RRI equipment right? if I'm gonna be up close most of the time for melee maybe I could swap to that if I wanna just go ahead and stuff, huh,
oh yeah-
had a sudden thought about the Sappho frame and making that into 621-Raven somehow lmao, with Ayre as the NHP and- y'know,
tho admittedly the license goes a bit more into using the pilot in the fight more than would fit in AC6, so maybe alternate parts,
Which coral rifle? Redshift or WLT?
WLT
I just- really wanna use the WLT lmao,
giant beam
even if I already have the oscillator
Sappho frame….
Gay mech…..
Oh I really gotta write fic now that I’m fully finished w the game huh
oho? XD
WLT generally work best at close to medium range, if you want to focus on being effective, use the 1st stage charge
A neat thing about the 2nd stage charge is that it doesn't instantly overheat the rifle so if you miss the beam
You can QB out of it and start charging again
Uh huh, so close/medium is where it all goes, works for most all of the stuff in the build besides the drones- or even them,
If you want to be cheeky
If they are at long range you can try to snipe with the beam for a big chunk of impact
true, since it's manual aimed anyways
I did it a few times beyond 450m before the FCS kicks in
Most people won't expect it
Since they only activate combat mode when the FCS kicks in at 450m
lmao
So go for the long range snipe
If you miss, just QB and start charging again for when they get close
If you're using laser drones, fully charge and send them out
Wait about 1.5 to 2 seconds
Then charged oscillator
for the charge or after launching?
After launching
Mm
If the timing is right, the oscillator will hitstun them for the drones to hit them for the last bit of ACS damage into ACS overload
Then you power wash them with the beam
mm, keeping all that in manual aim would probs make that easier lmao
If you're running the same weapons as I do
And running manual aim all the time
You can pick whatever arms you want
admittedly I wouldn't be able to practice all these outside of arena fights lmao,
Because you're not using your FCS, you can afford your arms being overburdened
but very much appreciated
Who do you use to practice in arena?
no one really, I just rush through cuz I've been going through the different mod iterations
and then going back to the latest patch after this or the next mod,
drone, oscillator, WLT rifle?
do you use a second drone or some other thing for the left shoulder?
Yep, I run double drones
Mm mm,
admittedly- might be a bit heavy with the ALBA frame+BASHO arms lmao
so I had to swap one of them to a pulse blade so it's not too heavy
Too heavy for the Alba legs?
yeah
I use the heavier coral gen plus the NGI, maybe I could pick a much lighter FCS, buuut yeah
and I haven't tested what'd fit for speed in the latest patch
You can use the starter FCS if you manual aim
cuz I'm still in the 2nd ending with this mod lmao, and I wanna S-rank the boss missions once I unlock the oscillator
beat all the bosses with the build
Mm mm, that's the lightest and lowest EN-load right?
Yep
If you're using it in the story, do take care that some enemies read your inputs so it might be a bit tougher
Most obvious is ||Nightfall|| in the arena
mm mm, noted
oh, it's been a while since I fought them vanilla,,, are they harder with the part changes now?
Not really? I could still body them
But when testing builds out
I get pilebunkered
Mm mm
There is always a .5 game for AC
my favourite from soft game didn't get DLC so I will be forever wary
At least this guarantees that AC won't enter another 10 year slumber
I am all for getting more AC games
maybe we'll start seeing armored core likes now lol
AC aren't big stomby, they are big floaty speedy
some of them are stompy
even the most stompy are much more floaty than battletech mech
ye they do fly around
battletech jumpjet could be faster really
https://youtu.be/GDHbDbPydZ4?si=rtEOS58PvE_nJsKn
Here's my counterargument
The answer is: YES IT CAN. With a little help, an SSRM4, an "LRM20," a PPC and a cough Gauss Rifle. If the speed gauge is in km/h, 35 is about the ground speed of your average Atlas. I even pretended to have proper jump jets.
Remember the motto of the Lyran Guard.
"We Outmaneuver Most Fixed Fortifications."

Hmmm Challenge run...
I would say my point still stands. Battletech are big stompy mech babies.
AC's are mech bird people gymnasts
how fast?
you gotta try to make ACs super slow, usually anyways
oh no I mean battletech jumpjet could honestly be faster in story
I guess it was because it's a figment of being something born of the 80s, of things being slow and lumbering while machines keep getting faster and faster these days
Mhm,
hm, when was the first AC game? cuz I think ACs were always kinda speedy for their size,
1997
Mhm,
well not quite the 80s then,
but gundam was in the 80s and they zip around in space in that so
Fair, tho i think they still like- ran around if they weren't using their thrusters, just that they always has boosting as an option, or something
I haven't seen it
I'm unclear what dk is actually saying about speed and things from the 80s
Fair fair, tho like- really- what's the lowest speed you can get in an AC? at least for AC6?
0m/s
pffft- I mean like, consistently ground boosting
if you don't just choose to walk lmao,
I would do so well in a race to see who is slowest
huh, I wonder how fast walking actually it-
I think you walking in AC6 actaully does still keep you at like 70 or 80 kph?
anyways that's a whole tangent about speed,
I wonder what units the speedo is in
might be kph,
might be the most consistent way to read it,
I'm m/s pilled
mm mm, thankee
but this is with a basically borderline unusable build in terms of speed- well at least to me it is- and it's still like, as fast as a racecar/faster than practically anything its weight class in Battletech,
I got it to be deployable
*at least if you swap from kph to mps
overburdened
i mean the numbers zmxnc
167, literally like- as fast as the RX-78-2?
I don't have my usual tool of capturing specific parts of information sadly
it has enough fire power to wipe out alot
...god am I gonna go test this against a boss
yes, yes I am
I mean they are really big and orbit capable so
MAN I wish they had just "Fight this boss mission"
mach 1.5 doesn't seem that much of a stretch
that thing's almost 90 tons, is as fast as the original Gundam's top speed (also more than 2x the original gundam's empty weight and about 1.5x its max), and it's half its size- and it'd still be boosting circles around any Battlemech close to its weight, and probs any that're half its weight too
okay I'm gonna go fight ||ayre since that's the only fight that's a real test.||
350-400 m/s is 1260-1440 kph lmao
hoooboi
ganbatte,
yeah, that's only like mach 1.2
IIRC gen4 had explicit km/h in its reading?
okay first try, WOEFUL I just spammed so hard.
I think
400m/s seems reasonable to me for a huge sci fi mecha with a giant ass booster on it
which is fair too, I definitely wanna go faster lmao,
I'm saying I don't think the numbers are crazy
okay yeah I'm gona stop after this second attempt and go arena like...someone else
because this is so goofy and hilarious
you could definitely work out what the units are though
because the game is properly scaled in-engine
my god I feel like a slug
it's hard to intuit speed because of the scale
okay...if I can LAND the shots, it's just a solid
now let's slowly make this unburdened to see the stretch of a potential build
XD
I am now able to deploy it
I think it's in the km/h, like previous games, unless the actual time that passes is inaccurate and we're seeing things in slow-motion/slower than they should be in-lore,
at the least someone calced/checked and the Xylem is like 42-46km? the closure satellite is like 11km? ICE WORM is at least 1km when not pulled as far as it could be, and IIRC Strider is like 5km?
what's the weight unit?
trust me I tried to make it bipedal
km/h makes the most sense but I automatically read any unknown speed as m/s (I am always wrong)
almost 100 tons XD
because bipedal is more funny when you have so much crap on you
and this is acceptably deployable
and still 244 km/h
now I am gonna go to a mech that is what I would use normally
*as in still fast in abstract terms
the last time I looked at the speed my lightweight build was boosting at 380
XD
fair lmao
everything should be in SI
and this is what I would use normally
the fact that this AC is somehow faster than the 78 does make me stop and go "Okay hold on."
the SSME boosters are good
78?
uhhh Gundam RX 78
I mean ultimately the quoted speed of a gundam is entirely arbitrary
it's scaled within the gundam verse at the time so a fast gundam is Fast
they made that up for an animated tv show in like 1980
fair lmao,
there's no reason it would have any bearing or relation to a video game from 2023
they probs have some wild numbers if you used certain visuals,
but once you take it out of context, it does make you go "huh...not that bad."
like someone calced Aerial's speed/acceleration (probs acceleration from the maneuvers) as pretty crazy during the melee in ep9, I forget the numbers,
yeah, def not bad
tho I still wanna go faster XD
Honestly- how close the camera is in AC6 vs AC4 makes it harder to deal with when you're going fast in close range lmao, is what I found playing with the mods people made, tho it does back away/FoV increases sometimes apparently- I hink it's cuz if you're fast enough forwards you leave the camera behind and whatnot
I have only done it once.
this is genhuinely the second time I'm trying (well second session I'm trying)
hmmm nope I'm stopping that.
mrrew, mm mm
I think I fought her with- dual drones, pulse blade, Zimmer? was in 1.01
actually I think I was in a hurry,
so that might have been for ||ALLMIND|| instead- or-
i swear I beat one of the ||SOL-644||s with a Sweet Sixteen and pulse blade- probs dual drones,
found the stream of the build I beat her with back in like...update 1.01
mm mm,
honestly my laptop definitely can't handle sharing AC6 over discord lmao,
That's fair, I built a gaming/streaming pc years ago to do that, and now I can with my better net
BMLs- I assume those are missile launchers? I definitely haven't used those as much l mao,
that build still took 40+ minutes and number of immediate restarts to get just enough luck
vertical plasmas are- they're alright aren't they? I think,,,
once I started using the laser drones they worked pretty well most cases I think, just pop them one after another/staggered and let them help your shotguns build up stagger-
I think I used the pulse blade for a lot of the boss fights cuz it's just too good for its costs I think,
oof, good you got it in the end, yeah?
Yeah, I did.
||so- 1st ending? OH RIGHT- i forgot fighting her was the bad ending- I did her first ending too||
saem i just remembered zmcxn
The moment I did it
that was all of chapter 5 I believe in that one stream.
"FoR" or something,
hah nice
now my general build is just double songbird, pile driver, scudder while using basho
I think the data file was like- "Luxbreak FoR"?
or was it just "Fires of Raven"?
I think I'm gonna try a more melee-focused build through most of the game next time I get back to Vanilla (so after this mod's run and after I beat the bosses with my final final build/fighting-||ALLMIND|| build)
maybe I can actually use the laserblade now lmao,
or not
BASHO arms unlock when?
....uhh
like chapter...2-ish?
the missles I used actually were pretty damn good, maybe that's why double song bird won't work against her.
Songbirds are pretty hard to land without a large opening, or splashing the floor because of the 2-shot burst factor.
I noticed I could not land them consistently. and if I did it was always me taking a hit.
I ended up stopping and not continuing because no
got it XD
I'll probs stick to those- swapping to laser pistols in a pinch if need be,
I say that with big unsure energy.
Are songbirds for stagger or for stagger punish?
the way I used them, both.
but I also will use them to stagger to let me pilebunker
THUNKTHUNK, THUNKTHUNK
and a metallic thunk with a ring XD
in general? or against her in particular?
in general.
If the target you're fighting is super agile, or just dodges alot more they are super hard to land.
Mm mm, I think they'd get me killed given how I plan to go speedy anyways lmao,
especially with the committed firing pose
which you can boost out of before they fire to cancel it
I've been using Earshot more for that reason if I have space for it, though Songbirds can be nice if your build supports it/can't fit Earshot.
laser pistols are still pretty good DPS right?
hm, can the Basho arms handle a pair?
Pretty easily I think, they have low recoil
mm mm- recoil affects how quickly you can fire? or just the accuracy?
Recoil Control affects how much Recoil messes with your accuracy, and how fast your recover accuracy.
got it, I'll see if I can run Nacht legs+maybe Core if it's good enough now+BASHO arms and probs nacht head lmao,
Basho arms essentially turn melee into your main weapon, worth keeping in mind
oh, so if you're up close anyways and with low-recoil weapons- probs good right?
Yea, probably
yeah, I think I'll do it that way- if the DPS is good enough with pulse blade+laserblade, not sure what to keep on the right arm tho,
shotgun? haldeman?
plasma vert?
normally something that doesn't have to worry about firearm stuff
so probs a shotgun then?
if you do basho because it's like 50 fireamr profiency or something
Shotgun can be a good option since you're waiting for solid shots instead of shooting right away
mm mm,
plasma verts track well right? iunno if they always did or if that was me remembering the mod more than base game lmao
*53 Firearm Spec, which noticeably makes your firearm aim worse.
yeah. I know I Shouldnt have a scudder equipped but I do.
basicaly all these combined negate the need for EN wep-spec and aiming lmao,
Plasma Vertical is brutal to fully avoid, though it won't deal full damage unless the target sits inside the clouds.
so, gonna be fun playing around with the other generators for once, tho I do like the Coral Red most and the ion-blue 2nd
but I might stick with Aorta once I get it cuz- red
fashion
lmao
i can't use anythign other than the C-gens zmcnx
I've found the electric/coral generators work fine with most energy builds, running the VE-20 line is for really speccing into firepower over mobility/flexibility.
mm mm,
so this might work out,
I think the 1.01 build I ran had like- pulse+zimmer/dual laser pistols,
stagger then spam with laser pistols,
not sure if it was optimal/as optimal as it could be
I don't really understand the coral generators
but I think it did decent,
they have decent capacity but you have to run them all the way down to get any recovery and that recovery is still slower than a regular generator
make them run out- go ham/burst movements and make the most of it,
I'm only using one on knight errant for the drip
since it's supposed to be a coral powered relic
Coral generators work on post recovery supply
if there's a lull in combat then i just dash until it's recharged,
So the longer delay is compensated by you getting at least 70% of your EN back when it kicks in
yeah but even taking that into account they just seem worse
energy already refills basically instantly when you land
Mid-air recovery is the biggest reason, and being able to dump Recovery entirely.
Because that affects your regular regen
Not your Post Recovery Supply
So having 1.5k EN supply or 10k EN supply doesn't matter to Coral gens
I'm terminally souls brained I'm not running out my energy constantly
I've pulled out Coral Generator builds before because I don't touch the ground much in some missions/builds.
if I want to stay up I just use gridwalker
4-ish
yeah,
I can usually count "one, two, three, four-"
with the warning sound
fun rhythm thing
I tend to use the san-tai, the tiny energy spec one, or the big blue one that looks like two of the small blue one taped together
Aorta has 3000 Capacity, while NGI 000 has 4400 Capacity
ohhhh
Coral gives you cool red flames as well
but I'm not often running out of energy, I guess just the way I play I'm usually wanting to regenerate from like halfway
or 90% down
jumping and with good boost speed you can usually avoid things normally anyways,
I think I could practice circle/square dodging with it lmao,
and I find having the extra 10% to emergency dodge something more valuable than taking like half a second longer to get the energy back
And that's perfectly fine, just means the Coral gens not for you
or being able to actually regen without draining all the way first
I've been using the Aorta more often beause of it's faster Supply Recovery, combined with a Supply Recovery core to speed it up.
Coral generators notably save weight compared to similar EN Output generators.
yeah I guess I just wanted to know if I was missing something
Nah, corals meant for a different playstyle
I'll be doing chapter 5 with one anyway so we'll see how that goes
Using Coral means you can forgo EN supply as a stat so you can field high EN load weapons
The downtime is more berable to fast frames that can passively dodge attacks.
the tempo of it needs a change in playstyle, it's kinda like reloading a magazine
Yep
I think knight errant is decently fast, it just feels slow to me because I've been playing lightweights the whole time
Big change from Combustion Generators that (refund) fast, but tend to have less up-front refund (except Yaba).
Another way to play Coral is to use it for aerial
Then once you redline it, just fall and use the momentum to dodge attacks till the regen kicks in
fun for twitchy hands or long lasting enemy attack combos, I think
at least it works for me and stuff,
I also use coral for some speed builds
I play very aggressively till it redlines then bunnyhop and play passively till regen kicks in
Rinse and repeat
yeah! pretty much that style,
Since they are lighter than say a San-tai
or well,
keep up the pressure with drones or other,
then when an opening's up and my EN is charged, dive back in with the shorter ranged main weapons lmao
The lower EN Firearm Spec of San-Tai (88 spec) really gives it different uses from the NGI 000 (110 spec) coral gen too.
I think I might have to swap to melander arms on my guy purely for aesthetics even though they are objectively worse
my love of video game fashion and desire to optimise builds clash yet again
forgot if it jumps higher
I can also put decals on the melander arms whereas the ephemera ones are like un decal able
My favorite thing with coral builds is to nearly redline, bait your opponent into going all in, then dodge
It's so funny
Where'd you find this?
Friend sent it but it's been confirmed from one of the VAs that AC6 sold 2.8 million
Sweet 😄
yayyyyyyyy i s ranked alt balteus first try
AC: STRANGE DESIRE II
funky lookin
it is indeed strange
what's strange desire 1
the one in the first picture lol
^^
called strange desire because this is the ac in which ||ayre and (fem) raven do esoteric psycho-sapphic cyber-intimacy||
||imagine me holding ayre and raven like two action figures and making them kiss by clanking them together thats what i do in my little mind palace||
what is that spoilers for
A student of Mikazuki
not spoilers for anything just my headcanon for ayre and raven being useless lesbians
i mean come on like, in the mission where ur exploring the xylem and she's just like "yunno its just the two of us, the last beacon isnt going anywhere, take your time ;)"
shes DOWN BAD
is this a metal gear reference btw
Also I always feel bad for that line because the way I do that mission I’m always like at the final place by the time she says it
on my second run I actually stopped and just hung out for a while
So it’s like “take your time raven” as I’m accessing the final objective
I think I went and got a chest
I once got to the spot so quickly she started to say it and was cut off
because I felt bad for blitzing through it the first time lol
thank god for ao3
Honestly I do wish there was some dialogue from her if you didn’t access it for a while
Just an acknowledgment you’re taking your time
the game was out for like 2 days before there was sapphic art of them
raven and rusty and ayre (all women of course)
the perfect polycule
i like to headcanon that raven knows ASL
I think 621 is allowed to be platonic friends with rusty
or like, what, RSL? rubiconian sign language?
I think I like
they are buddies
ok but i want them to kiss kiss
I think sign language 621 is good
since they're the only character we never hear speak, although they do communicate with others
my favorite intepretations of raven being mute are either, sign language, or collar with communicator like the dog from up
second one is tragic
They communicate with others but are seemingly unable to do so mid mission
i like the second one because it means as a fic writer i dont have to absolutely butcher sign language portrayal
Ayre speaking through the collar for them tho
Like them talking to ayre in their head, and ayre telling people what they’re saying
raven's "voice" is just the COM voice through the collar speaker
but then she becomes a girl (projecting so hard) and changes it to something else
imagine the tiktok text to speech voice
something new
id imagine something like
the computer voice from star trek tng
feminine and soft but cold and monotone
mhmhm
I think I'm gonna go with my ayre idea for a bit in fic actually that sounds super cute
Star Trek TNG S04E03 Brothers
Blu ray FullHD interpolated to 60fps
"Excuse me she asked for no pickles" but it's just the voice from her helmet
also the longer i think about NG++ route the funnier it gets
no spoilers
||Iguazu is literally the same as you IE allmind is buzzing in his head, but he just seems to think he's going crazy||
any spoilers will be under spoiler tags and at that point it's on you :p
just making sure
That’s fair but also I think they’re dating
that's a good one
oh I love that
Ayre is so cute
have yall heard her dialogue if you wait on nepenthes
What mission?
I don't think so
depths 1
uhhh the Depth One exploration
that yeah
if you wait a little while she looks up what nepenthes is named after
Ohhh
and is like "woah raven you should google this later this is cool"
shes so naive and adorable and i want to give her the biggest hug
among other things
…Emily I’m not sure how much she’ll benefit from that
Being a non physical being
ROSE

Idk we cna build her a lil robot body
why landowner ayre
idk
ayre but shes ur landlord
my brain is working at like 3% capacity today fellas
if my landlord was in my head i think i'd just fuckin lose it
“Raven, rent is due in a week Raven”
“Raven you’ll lose your deposit if you keep damaging the building”
“Raven, Walter isn’t paying his cut of rent. Is he getting any of the jobs payment?”
raven and ayre are just elster and ariane from signalis
i know nothing about signalis i just know i keep seeing art of them making out on my twitter tl
Hopefully Ayre and Raven’s story goes better
Lmao
Ayre but she only ever pilots an AC near Raven in general.
Meaning all meetings with Raven has to be outside and/or with alot of glass to allow Ayre as a giant AC to see too
Artists deciding wether Ayre will have white or red hair:
they are weak.
Pink hair because if you combine the two, that's what you get.
a compromise satisfies nobody
Take a side
No, there's a peaceful, and better way to get through this.
Therapist: It's ok, V.II Snail, Bisexual Vaporraven isn't real and can't hurt you
Bisexual Vaporraven:
Anyway human Ayre has white hair and red eyes
Cause she’s albino
That’s my position
Incredible thank u
share codessss
Honestly this is a hard ass line
'yes I love bloodshed and warfare, I long to fight for my life'
I like the look of the starter mech so I put a new engine in a beloved old car
this shield is in the trailer for the game so I don't think it breaks the style
It’s basically J from verdict day tbh
"There is no place for me other than the battlefield. To live as I please, and die a senseless death. That is who I am. Not a mere man of flesh. War is part of my existence."
It’s profoundly sad tbh
Freud is that you?

Karasawa is actually kinda hype in pvp what the heck
BISEXUAL LIGHTNING
SAME HAT
thank you!
There are four types of legs (Bipedal, Reverse Joint, Tetrapod, Tank Treads) in AC6 (アーマードコア6)! They each have their own strengths and weaknesses, so learn to choose the best leg for your build here!
Please help me continue my YouTube journey by buying my fantasy novel! (both ebook and paperback available): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6XNQH7D/...
do u have the thing this is areference to
i know what it is i just want the image to show my partner
Wait it's not just a reference to that one attack??
no it is a reference to the one attack
i just dont have a clear screenshot of the attack itself
no need just give me firmezas and albas
that's all i need ever lmao
You know what weapon is atrociously bad
The grenade launcher they give you for doing the quad tutorial
I streamed the first 3.8 chapters of AC6 today on a fresh start no shop purchases run
And my GOD that thing is SO BAD
But it's the only left hand projectile weapon you get until fucken MOONLIGHT
i am curious, what kind of pvp builds take advantage of the kasuar legs the best?
Anyway i died to Red in the arena THREE TIMES trying to make that pos work
Fast lights that want to chain the terrible lag hitbox of the rj kick into a hit confirm of some type
so you just wanna kick a lot?
I played a ton of a build i called Gremlin Mk1 and iterated on it, i can't find its final form but it was this at one point
Basically, due to lag, if you land a kick, and then let a charged harris shot fly, it'll almost always hit
Often it turns into a stagger
Then you can punish with your melee of choice. The gremlinest move is to run like, a laser dagger with assault armor
Basho + laser dagger + assault armor is instant death on a stagger if your opponent doesn't know
And if they DO know you get your combo for free and then a reset
Oh no shop purchases run
The laser dagger trick is to stagger someone, then do your 3 dagger hits. If they try to assault armor or pulse armor, counter it by doing your assault armor right after they use theirs
I was trying to figure out what you meant by it being the only left hand projectile lmao
I was so confused
no shop run is insane wtf
It's not toooo bad it's just that some fights are pretty frustrating
Cuz the AI input reads to an egregious degree
As it stands now though, i'm running a mind beta RJ build with Alula on the Aorta
Jav alpha, laser orbit, laser drones, pulse blade
Lots of good potential to build stagger, but you have to micromanage the laser orbit sometimes because you don't want it to eat your free stagger hit on the AI
There's a lot of charged pulse blade in neutral which is super spicy
Oh and i found out that even though it's a FRICKEN SHIELD the pca HCs just die if you hit them with melee
Imo with a game this fast it’s kinda needed
The AI is already considered “too easy” by a good chunk of people lol
For sure!
Also
I am surprised by how core the stagger mechanic ended up being
For being a new addition to the series
The whole idea of "build stagger and then punish" is a good gameplay loop
Also
Saw someone say that you should get something for S-ranking every mission
And I’m like “what could they possibly give you”
Hehe. I wish i was good with the WLT gun
Though i guess it comes so late it doesn't matter
Maybe i'll amend my wish to the karasawa
Also to S rank all missions do you have to S rank the variants
Right hand melee 😔
Woof
I have simply decided not to
Because Id probably just never play the game again after
fair
also
huh
just noticed Walter calls Sulla by the same alpha numeric name-thing as you
Was it 614 or something?
yeah because he's number 249 from gen 1
presumably it's C <augmentation generation> <augmentation order>
I guess the C is for coral, like C-weapons
The blade wave command
Wat
What
I missed all that
Wat sjnzv
Ayre learning alongside Raven as she helps Raven with exploring/reclaiming their/her personhood XD
I found it XD
Because I am a contrary person, when I saw the legs video that mentioned the "worst" reverse joint, I had to try and make it work. This is also a max energy firearm and basho arms build.
Container missiles... it was all I could fit in my EN cap (I'm maxxed exactly), but they dont actioally require lockon. Fire them into the air on approach, then AB in for a kick/melee.
Kasuar + NGI 001 booster
Get Kikaku lunge levels of speed with a ground QB
QB into the next system

I played through most of NG with a kasuar build
hearing it's not very good just makes me feel like more of a gamer
Spring chicken player who never kicked.
this build is finally hitting a wall at Chartruse
wasnt too big of a wall though. Only Snail, Chartruse, and Freud gave any real trouble at all.
Me in my first playthrough
Any tips for S rnking the alternate dam mission in act 1?
Pile Bunker ends AC fights quickly and cuts your ammo costs
Always pilebunker Volta to start that fight
KASUAR core and arms when???
I tend to focus down Iguazu first because he goes down faster, Redgun ACs have a lot less Energy Defense than Kinetic/Explosive.
I got that, now I'm up to escort the mining ship. Trying to do it with more or less the same build as the redguns, but the sawblades kick my butt.
Yeah you want a bespoke build for S rank escort mining ship
I've got an alpha down on the first unit of the first wave, and an explosion that takes out the first two whels of the second wave, but after that...
i recommend a missile boat that can stay in the air for a long time
I brought like 2x Bazookas (Majestic), missile rack + earshot with long-range FCS instead.
that would also work!
Bazookas (except JVLN Alpha) seem to have a proximity fuse, terrifyingly effective at a distance.
I jusy got my first ending, ||Flame of Raven|| or whatever it was
And my god
My ever loving christ what a wrap
||Taking out the Arquebus fleet|| is like, everything I dreamed of
They plucked that clean out of my brain
||I feel terrible for killing Ayre, but I couldn't bring myself to take out Carla||
i ran xuan ge, tai yang shou, earshot and 6-missile myself
you can destroy one of the sliders when it lands before it starts moving with the earshot

"Today is Friday on Rubicon."
'What, Freelancer?!'
"Shoot!"
ACS stagger noise
Really interesting that Ayre and Walter have like
A bunch of extra “OH FUCK THEYRE STAGGERED” lines
For every boss in the game p much
That go unused
probably because the loop was intuitive enough that playtesters found them stating the obvious
There are a few lines like that which stuck around though
I recall em for both PCA helicopter fights, and I think (Act 4) ||Ibis||?
also a couple for the tester AC, which makes sense
every time I fight Iguazu now imma say TODAY IS FRIDAY IN CALIFORNIA and SHOOT
レーザースライサー走法の使い道完全に理解した
#AC6 #ARMOREDCOREVIFIRESOFRUBICON
What the hell lmao
Helicopter.
I saw a different helocopter strat in a "Can I beat AC6 without moving" video.
...I cant seem to find the video (Edit: TLDR- someone beat the game with laser lance+laser slicer as their only movement option.)
Okay this thing is fun
Twin Ludlows (really quad with your gun orbits there) are fun
I think I'm back, also props to the other pilot we both slapped each other around a lot.
Those were some good kicks.
I have decided to be in a constant state of "BOOST KICK BOOST KICK"
You never run out of boost kick.
Sadly this build is ✨ fragile ✨ but I'll make it work
Now it's time for paint tweaking and decals
Also getting the assault armor counter on the pulse armor feels Good
Did someone say fragile?
lol
How do you guys beat Iguazu with the current regulation patch? I have issues with his big swingy attacks
I used to take him down with dual miniguns and songbirds, but something about him feels... faster?
Might be how you're approaching the fight
I tried my dumbest build, and all that can be said is...
MAD DASH LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
I uh, was trying to keep my distance and all
but when I just went braindead it worked out
also, Mad Stomp, I always felt that it had the makings for greatness, but was kind of squandering them
so I remixed it
Yeah that fight really rewards going full berserker mode
it does?!
Try to keep a lot of vertical distance between you and him
He has a very hard time shooting straight up and down
awww, I kept trying to use my LWAC on them, specifically an Elcano body w/ ALLMIND head using two 4-cells and Ransetsu rifles, I got him to maybe 5% health and then I died
Check out my starter AC run vs him to see the strats
This took about 26 hours worth of attempts to learn, mostly because I'm bad at pattern recognition and learning when to be aggressive. But my god am I glad it's finally over. Oh, and yes, apparently this was an S-rank lol, but I think the game just gives that to you if you win at all.
but Mad Dash makes him kind of a joke
With dual ransetsus the verticality strat would annihilate him haha
I admit that I try to play this build like a NEXT, which may not be helping
also the only fault Mad Dash had that I could think of was a lack of assault armor
I'll iron this out, and if anyone wants it, I'll leave a share code
NGL, this video feels like two gods duking it out
it's so cool
Does AC6 ever give "running completely out of energy" a name
You should watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann sometime, even if you're not into anime you might really like it
I did, I loved the show
Awwwww i was hoping i had met someone and could send them down a rabbit hole of a new show xD
Is the laser lance technically a giga drill breaker?
Imo yes haha

I actually struggle to make a decent EN weapon build as of late, because of engine over weight over mobility and firepower
humorously this has resulted in me just favoring rifles and SMGs
I've used Ephemera/Mind Alpha/VE-40A pretty heavily to amp up EN Output, though also trying generators like VP-20C/VE-20A again.
I bounced off SMGs relatively early, and use Ransetsu-RF/Handguns/Harris quite heavily 1-handed.
Solo Duckett is surprisingly strong for stagger buildup and sustain, high base damage lets it reach really far for a handgun on non-AC targets.
Bubble gun supreme
today on the Thot Show: we finished up NG and played through NG+
currently got all possible combat logs on our first pass of each ending, which was a lot of fun (and a time save), though i did Liberator first so it kinda felt weird to do the Rokumonsen fight on NG+ haha
Currently the strat is mostly "javelin alpha hard carry"
Running dual melee on a light midweight (pulse blade and moonlight), with javelin alpha and a rotating cast of right back weapons based on the mission
Lots of MTs to clear? Nebula. Otherwise? Javelin beta, or nowadays trueno
If i get stuck on a fight i fall back onto easy mode, which is turner + pulse blade + starter missiles hilariously enough
Basically just the starter AC but the frame and internals are infinitely better
redlining? genbusting?
oh- you mean an official/in-game name?
Yeah 🙂
hrm- what was the name of the relevant stat again?
something related to that might be the closest you get
I think it's just when you're out of EN
Redlining is a community term but it exists mostly because there's no in game term
Kind of like Dual Trigger/Double Trigger
I'm waiting to see what new lingo comes from the new Gen players
Coral crutch.
Power washed
why is that beam jelly like
Coral
I only remember beams just being a line, not jelly like
it's more of a stream than a beam due to its relatively low velocity, so changing direction at all causes it to wiggle as the projectiles in the original direction are still moving that way rather than matching the newest ones
You're just power washing someone with Coral
so you're saying you can wiggle wiggle with it
we're mentally used to lasers moving at the speed of light or at least very quickly
so this ends up looking a bit more like the output of a hose than anything
Indeed
Daydreaming about being able to put decals on weapons
And choosing ammunition loads to affect the way your weapons work
Radiators and weapon use heat buildup
A bit of a legacy term with AC6, since dipping into the red is just a warning now, while full-empty (flashing red) causes problems.
LOL LMAO
Just like the Wall all over again. Also, I liked that small typo that nobody probably saw since this is pretty hard to do naturally. As a small update, I am working on the cut dialogue of this mission, but I decided to include the Japanese lines as well, so I still have to go through and subtitle/sort those out.
Timestamps:
0:00 - Rusty Leaving...
isn't this normal dialogue?
Yeah it just triggers early and is slightly different if you take too long to kill the boss
oh huh. I got'chu
is there a way to adjust camera speed in AC6 photo mode?
I figured I'd ask since stopped-time pans and closeups could be dope as hell
you could speed it up in post
I needed it slower actually, but speeding it up can be cool too
I LOVE KILLING FOR MONEY

big spoilers for all the game but
I found it funny
playing around with a dual flamer setup
it's very good
I used a dual flamethrower + earshot build for a while and it just melted most guys
Only like 3 more hours til i get to finish up streaming No Shop Purchases
haven't tried the earshot with it yet, I was already taking the coral generator for the assault armor and coral shield so an energy weapon felt right
if you fire the earshot at a grounded target while above them it hits really reliably due to the huge radius
and does a bunch of stagger
since the flamethrowers don't really do any stagger it's nice to have something that does
They put spoilers on a robot once
||Life is hard and awful but it’s life and we have the right to live it||
He also ||escaped allmind's clutches, got surgery to undo his candidacy for the release project, and then WENT BACK TO RUBICON AND KILLED SEVERAL ASSASSINS||
OwO?
Just a complete gigachad
didn't know about that middle part
Yeah read his arena blurb haha.
||something about him joining the vespers in order to get better augmentation surgery, to counteract the coral burn-in on his brain. Combine this with the other lore text about how current gen augments do not use coral, and i think it's pretty clear that he wanted to make absolutely sure he wasn't a coral release candidate||
ahhh
makes sense
hey so NG++ question
is there a particular reason why the ||grinder wheels destroy the strider?||
I still haven't figured it out too much. I think it's just ||allmind testing raven||
||I mean the RLF was a threat to Allmind, I think they were just ensuring they lacked their strongest weapon||
fair fair
Yeah ||thumb dolmayan does try and kill you in that same route, I'm guessing there's some weirdness between Allmind and the RLF||
||Dolmayan has seemingly seen NG++ ending somehow||
||remember, Coral is spice||
||furthering my pet theory that coral overdose can fuck up your perception of time and is the reason Raven experiences the NG+ cycle||
Also admittedly
Do we have to use a spoiler marker by now?
Has anyone here not beaten the game three times?
yes there are actively people in this chat who haven't
Ah
I mean not at this exact second but in general
I didn’t know
The rule on this server is a little weird, but always spoiler forever
I am here
I am gonna stick to my pet theory for the rest of time
I started playing bg3 again so I haven't beaten NG++ yet
The only thing I think can't be expected to be spoilered is like
gear from NG+ and NG++
Like stuff that gets unlocked
but story spoilers yeah
mmhm
well I didn't mean you specifically just spoilers in general
people who don't want spoilers on AC parts should probably just finish the game :p
||I just assumed the ship mined too close to some deactivated Institute stuff machines.||
that's fair
I guess it's like
||the way it could be related is it's how you catch Allmind's Eye||
||Walter|| says "||way too many for a chance encounter||" which makes me think it's not simply random chance
||I interpreted that to mean "there's too many for us to randomly come across them in the desert, but to me that doesn't rule out "the mining ship accidentally dug into a hornet's nest". Dunno, I don't think it necessarily needs to be connected to ALLMIND.||
Speaking of those damn wheels, I FINALLY S ranked the alt mining ship. Act 1 is now S rank complete.
My bet is ||it's a test/hitjob from ALLMIND||
||because she's the only other entity which is demonstrated to have full control over Institute tech besides the PCA kind of being able to do so||
||the PCA’s relationship with Institute tech is funny because they less control it and more throw it at something and hope to god it kills them before it hurts the PCA||
Like- it's entirely possible that we just see things slowed down cuz we're players and we need it playable when the actual pilot is a superhuman/augmented human, but yeah- I think the original/first cutscene has it looking more like a coherent beam? Can't remember- but if they made it actually go faster then it'd be even stronger/way too strong I think lmao,
||and I think the only reason it doesn't actually work is cuz they're up against 621-Raven lmao||
I have been twoshot and I will now cry
Hey uh, question for people who finished the game. Which mission did you find to be the most difficult?
honestly, ||Balteus and Sea Spider. I didn't have all the parts, was trying a worse control scheme, and hadn't quite found my groove of what I wanted to play. Even later bosses that I got stuck on, I didn't feel like they were as difficult as those two.||
The early parts do hit hard. With hindsight, I think the limited selection of parts and lack of OS tuning to pull in some big damage make the early fights harder.
But besides the early missions. Was there anything from New Game plus (or plus plus) you found to be harder?
Something that's difficult even after finishing the game once.
||Sea Spider felt the least fun, I just hate how that boss feels||
||Balt was challenging but super fun||
||... on day 1 anyway||
For me, it was the first time doing the NG+ ||alt mission, attack the Dam complex, where you have to duke it out with G4 Volta and G5 Iguazu.||
||By far, though, IBIS-CEL was the hardest I had to contend with. I even fell on my face fighting it with a bullshit build I specifically built just to get past it||
||oh, and actually you know what, defend the Strider was a miserable experience, that's about it||
||Cel 240 is rough because the fight varies a lot depending on what build you're bringing to the fight. I think most people have to build their AC specifically for the boss in order to beat it.||
Good idea.
I already finished all 3 routes. I'm just replaying some missions, getting some S ranks to have more fun with the game before I put it away for who knows how long.
And for me, fun is suffering. Well, not suffering, just having a challenge.
I've noticed it's rougher to proc stagger breaks with earlier weapons, since they don't hit as hard upfront without work.
I'm fine with most of them but I'll take Duckett/Harris over Coquillett/Curtis in most use cases.
I'm having a hard time S ranking act 2. I keep getting A ranks.
I'm moving fast, winning fast, and taking very little damage.
I tried using the Coquillet once on the Operation Wallclimber mission, during my first playthrough. I ran out of ammunition not long after beating the tetrapod MT.
I'm glad FromSoft increased their total ammunition.
Maybe you're using weapons that cost too much? Or are you completing it without dying?
Most likely time taken and/or not enough trash mobs taken out along the way?
56k in ammo- so, not terribly a lot for taking out the Smart Cleaner.
Oh yeah. Are you killing the enemies along the mission?
If you can be fast in dispatching of ||Noosac||, that might even be a plus for your rank.
So, I should be killing more trash mobs?
Yeah. They add to your "bonus pay".
The more you're getting paid, the easier it is to reach an S Rank.
Ok, now I want to try to S Rank two missions now. Infiltrate Grid 086 and ||Escord Weaponized Mining Ship|| from NG++.
I just did the second one of those earler today
AC6 has a wonky hidden score calculation, MTs/ect can potentially give more time if they're valued enough.
Theextra trash mobs did the trick. In addition to the ones in the direct path, I made sure to clear the bridge to the left after beating MAD STOMP
...and the rest of act 2 clears up on first or second try.
I've got the margin to replace the pistol with a plasma cannon, but for missions, the rate of fire of the pistol lets me handle trash mobs better and lets me save the songbirds (which should not be this affordable, really) for toyboxes, tetrapods, and ACs.
Songbirds firing 2 shots makes it cost more overall, though I guess it's firing smaller, less expensive shells too.
I think they meant affordable in terms of weight and EN load
Ah, in that case it's because of the reduced individual output of songbird shots, and EN Firearm Spec can really raise the ceiling of energy shoulder cannons.
My first time through, intercept the redguns taught me trigger discipline
it's a mission where either you use rifles or you start learning how to kick and conserve ammo
The haldeman is what did the trick for me
First time through anyway
When i realized that it one shots the MTs lol
reach the coral convergence, first time thru
||i had to deal with all of the wheels to get the chest items then ibis cel240 was so hard i had to abandon the build i was using for most of the playthru and make a new one||
took me hours
@burnt parrot was watching over my shoulder and she was concerned for my health i was so pissed at the video game
Yeaaah
actually i dont know if that specific bossfight happened when she was there with me but i do remember liveblogging my cataclysmic rage
Reach the Coral Convergence by a mile
oh hun you should see me when i play csgo lol
but that's beside the point, coral convergence is my answer
Is that a threat
I changed my build so that I didn't have to aim
laser turrets and hand missiles
because I could not fucking hit her to save my life
Is seeing you do that a risk to my safety
actually csgo isnt the game i got the most angry at, but thats another conversation for another day
for the ||ibis|| fight i switched to dual zimms and stun needles the first time round
I only ever did that while replaying the mission
when I was like "bitch move I got new content to see"
"I do not have time to fight you again*
that was full ass 621 build tho
songbirds on back
which is actually really good for here even now cause she has no clue how to dodge their spread and always gets hit
ime
my main boss melting build is surprisingly a lightweight, but it has a midweight and heavyweight variant based on the same concept
its not a concept actually its more just, dual LCS cannons
for ibis in particular i had luck with an RJ dual zim/dual harris dual triple laser build
mightve not been an RJ, but either way, big impact weapon and the biggest chunk of damage you can shit out at once
the she/her robot really pushes optimal builds towards comical levels of burst dps
the build I ended up most pleasantly surprised with was a super fast build with chengs and pulse cannons on shouders
shoulders
the way she enters the level makes me feel things
i think out of all the bosses in ac6 this is the most intimidating
||the fuckin scary music, the three-mission buildup, the unnervingly beautiful entrance cutscene, like, when i went into this the first time i was like "oh i really am fucked"||
I'm v happy with here she is now balance wise
feels less fucked
but in like a good way
she's still scary as hell
but not like, annoying
God, I remember desperately trying to kill the ||Ibis|| then I got some solid hits in finally and was like 'this motherfucker has too little health- I bet there's a second phase'
I hope we get some left arm and right arm exclusive guns
There's a lot of fun in old gen AC mixing together weapons that complement each other well. Like pixie3 and roc4 in last raven
I think the toughest was the final boss of NG++, but that could be recency bias
Or Balteus
I'm still partway through NG++ (Ch3), but Balteus was one of the harshest missions I've had (using the same loadout for the while mission) because of how early it is, and how much it asks of your across the mission.
I guess ||Coral Covergence when I cleared the wheels and boss with the same loadout|| too, though that was entirely due to the ||wheel things having absurd speed and damage||.
weirdly I think the mission I've died most on is depths 2 with the enforcer
I always had to change my build to beat that thing
even on NG++ I died to it like twice
I want to pilot the wheel
Fun fact: the NG++ end credits video clips are (almost) all done with either Loader 4 or the Training mission ACs
There are clips of them fighting all the major bosses
There's one thing that will make you laugh though; the Arquebus AC picks up a Zimmerman in one shot to beat the ||Enforcer||
And the quad uses the stun needle in one shot to beat the ||ice worm||
Medium range builds kinda Bork the ibis
My duel rifle build would just plink at them from the 150-180 range
If you have a good medium range fcs most of your shots will connect
The biggest issue for me was just keeping them pinned/tracking it since I used soft-lock to fight the asshole, and them moving at 600+ speeds makes that a slight issue
But if your tracking is on point you can just sit between the 130-180 ranges and make them face a death by a thousand cuts
Noice, I took a big guns setup to tear into openings at mid-long instead.
I beat it with this guy
That is the plink machine
wrong it's mihaly's X-02S strike wyvern but a mech
For hard missions, I found the Battle Log for the V1 Freud mission to be annoying. Not the one on the direct path, but the one you have to find before than, beat, THEN beat the one on the main path, before you can heal up and face Freud.
I love sharing my first ibis clear story lol
https://youtu.be/MulZAPDOrzE?si=XC5UqAF3ddr06Z-1
this was my sixth attempt I think, and my second time seeing phase 2
Apparently it's not enought to merely be a waling advertizement for destruction. they want MORE than that, for S rank.
Alternatively, P I L E B U N K E R
did you kill everything that gives combat logs?
the fuel tanks don't count for anything. i made this mistake too, but got the s rank by just clowning on the ekdromoi so didn't know until after
I still relish the clip I got where I hit both ekdromoi with the same charged PB
Good to know. Now to try anf forget the route I've been drilling it. :p
That did the trick.
Heavy Melee, Inaccurate
[Threat 1][2d3 Kinetic, 2 Explosive]
This weapon deals double damage against stunned or immobilized characters```
Heavy Melee, Inaccurate
[Threat 1][2d6 Kinetic, 3 Explosive]
This weapon automatically crits against stunned or immobilized characters```
Better version
Alt xylem survey- 1 HP and a dream, got S rank anyway. :p
Hardest mission for me was eliminating Michigan. IDK how many times I tried it with different builds, mostly running out of ammo before the final duel.
Second hardest probably the combat log in the eliminate reinforcements mission.
Almost everything else died to 4 shotguns if I couldn't beat it with a more interesting build.
I just used Bad Cook flamethrowers to mop up his MT horde
Double Curtis for me, they have ridiculous ammo, decent range, and a fast firerate
I took 1x Vvc plasma and it went smoothly for the most part, blowing up the dropships saves work too.
I tried the cooks and the Curtis, in the end IIRC it was 2x vvc plasma for the dropships + mobs and 2x Zimmerman for the duel
I think i did that mission with a solo nebula for mob clearing
Redguns ACs spec into Kinetic/Explosive defense so Michigan's AP and stability were the part slowing down my energy tetrapod.
Oh i found out at the end javelin alpha is fucking broken against MT blobs
The initial hit breaks their shield
The followup explosions kill them
That's a funny factor I didn't think about, really good to know
looking for more S rank advice
this one is
weird
for some reason there are two specific LCs near the battleship on the highest platform you have to kill in order to actually s rank the mission
a sniper LC and a shield one, they spawn at the edge of the platorm facing the ice shelf
I think at least one of those is one of the ones that dropped loghunt data? Maybe that's why
I got a few accidental S ranks while hunting so I assume those targets are needed
