My thoughts on 1000xResist, spoilers duh ||I trusted my friend who recommended it implicitly so I just got it. I somewhat bounced off it at first and assumed it would require more note taking than I anticipated, but the notes somewhat turned into a live blog after a while. I found it weird because I'm a completionist so between the communions I spent ages running around what to me at the time felt like an asset flip somewhat... The story was somewhat interesting and I was hooked enough though to keep playing and be intrigued on what is going on... I really liked the Hong Kong segments of the game too, it was interesting to see the game as a piece of media referencing acts||

||When you kill the mother however that fuckingg SHOOK ME, the fact I was SO SUSEPTIBLE TO PROPAGANDA AND MY FEELINGS AND THOUGHTS WERE SO ALTERRED WITHOUT ME REALISING! I was devastated and I felt like i had lost control so much. Especially after the time skip sequence where everything has changed and the world was so different. This happened at around midnnight and honestly a lot after that point was such a blur because I kept assuming the end of the game was just around the corner and I just needed to finish... And I was playing over and over and over and over until the sun rose and I thought the ennd was just around the corner until I had to force myself to stop at 4am... After that point I was riding a high for so long.||

BG3 I think I sadly bounced off quite hard and I HATE THAT... I got the early access whenn it came out and I was keeping up with the progress... I was so hyped for it and I wanted to play it with my brother who I played through all of divinity original sin 2 with and loved that so expected somethin similar. But it was watching my friends play ahead of me and say subtle non spoiler spoilers of what was to come i nthe future, playing with one of my brothers friends, scheduling conflicts, and my brothers friend playing and reaching ahead that I just lost the spark with BG3...

Outer Wilds got me crying at 7 or 8 points, and watching friends play it those moments still get me tearing up. The ending can have me sobbing. Even listening to the soundtrack is dangerous, if the end credits song hits I'm gonna be a mess. But it changed me in a way that I really appreciate. The DLC adds even more (protip: beat the game first then buy the DLC for what I think is the optimal experience) and added another half dozen points to cry at if I think abou tthem ofhhhhhFUCK THE SONG IS IN MY HEAD I'M ACTUALLY TEARING UP AT WORK HEL P

Signalis had me cry at one scene near the middle ||the dance|| and at the very ending. The credits theme can get me sobbing fairly reliably.

1000xRESIST had me bawling in tears at least once per chapter. It gets under my skin very easily. It's brutal and it's thoughtful and aggggh.

Also I fully acknowledge that not every game is gonna hit everybody the same. What's live changing for me might be a miss for you. That's fine. I get it.

Dos 2: Everyone gets abilities, spells are learned the exact same way you learn how you use a sword and (most) things aren't limited in use but are only limited on a cooldown. You only up your stats, otherwise progression is based on equipment you find and abilties you purchase, steal, find or craft. There's no saves and stuff, things work by having magic and physical armour. If somethingng does physical damage it damages your physical armour, if something does magical damage it damahes your magical armour. If your physical/magical armour is broken, physical/magical CC effects will just work on you. The condition of the floor also works, so a rain spell can then be electrified, then if someone walks into it they can be stunned if they have no magic armour, etc. Everything sets fire... Why is everything on fire... The whole map is on fire

BREAK!! has a Calling named the Factotum. Their whole thing is that they specialize in all the non-combat mechanics of the game.

They have an ability called Don't Mind Me which means if they are in a combat, so long as they don't do anything obviously aggressive, enemies cannot target them.

This means 1. the Factotum isn't helpless in a fight, 2. they can wander around and do all kinds of fuckery so long as it doesn't involve actually stabbing people

chapter 2 spoilers ||but reverie has been talking with a few people being given a lot of information about the station, and in brief summary, she got to the theory that the issue with the generators is that maybe someone wants to run the lasers for a nefarious reason like attacking another station or just doing a message like "im powerful cuz i have a death laser". so in the downtime she started to investigate the flow of the current to know the suspect areas. i am going all in in the theory, i might get a big loss or a big win. we'll see with time i guess(????||
