It's related to the idea I had before because I want to do it a bit differently (this one #1059603134504255528 message)
But basically I think what I'm gonna do is (ch4) ||the team has been captured for a while, like they've been gone from hell's gate for a month or maybe two and everyone assumes they are dead because no one is going back in there that's just a suicide mission. But during that time TP has been simulating over and over and over again, making them run through hundreds of thousands of simulations where they would always fail at some point before. This time however is different because the players are actually the players now which changes things ever so slightly, making it now possible for them to succeed (but not certain). TP is, of course, going to throw a tantrum over this because it is nowhere to be seen in the winner's circle (because it fucking dies at the end of the chapter), so it fights back against this timeline (hence all the fights are still there).||
This now gives me an idea where I get to sprinkle chapter 4 with lines like (ch4) ||"During the snack run, McDriver's chassis was totalled by BACK4MORE eight thousand seven hundred and nine times. Subsequent injuries revealed fatal eight thousand six hundred and thirty six times."||

(McDriver being one of the players and BACK4MORE being the veteran cataphract from said combat)

And I'm gonna sprinkle this kind of statistic everywhere I can

During this "all your loved ones are dead" sequence I think what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna play a bunch of sequences back to back where I isolate one of the players by clueing in all the others as to what is happening during that scene in particular

So for example, one of my players came to Calliope with their tutor, which is essentially their acting grandma who is very sick and who they are trying to get proper treatment for but that shit is hella expensive. I'll have a scene where they're right after what is essentially the tutor's funeral, which I'll tell all the players except the relevant one. If everything goes well the other players will say something akin to "I'm so sorry for your loss." or close to it, but the relevant player will be like "what are you talking about what's happening who died"

And I'll have it switch to other scenes like other people being dead, them failing to save someone by just a few seconds, a last stand where the mission went catastrophically bad, or even putting them just after the moment they kileld someone they wanted to save

I have a player, John McDriver, with Attune to the world maxed and the magus bond who's got this almost unnatural intuition and luck that's a big part of his character. McDriver is an Emperor pilot, and piloted a simple Everest before that.
Recently because we were all bored and all like lancers some of my players asked if we could run a fight again just because it was cool and also because they wanted to try out builds a little bit so I said sure why not
Now the way I'm going to fuck with him specifically here is ||I'm gonna have the crone innocently ask him what kind of mech he pilots. And when he responds with "An Emperor and maybe an Everest before that" I'm going to hit him on the head with "Then why do you remember piloting a White Witch?"||
