funny enough i was unemployed when i first joined here, time is a flat circle but fr i just went through the worst breakup of my life and literal psychosis when i first joined here, i was so scared to be around my former(?) friends because they saw a side of me i never want anyone to see, and once i warmed up to y'all i knew that i always had friends i could talk to about the things i loved

Reverie knows what they are looking for. and i wrote a very interesting conversation for them, but probably a huge stretch and wont happen in session ||

late response + lore dumping but that character was ||the result of a faustian deal made by the high king of the kingdom the game took place in. in exchange for immortality and eternal reign, the king gave up his daughter to a vampire lord (also a lich). They produced a child together, and in his cruelty the vampire lord decided to raise him as more of a pet than a child. This would become the rogue. The princess went mad from their mistreatment and eventually was ejected from the vampire lord's castle to live in the slums of the town he ruled over, and the rogue would escape from the castle to visit his mother. This became a problem when the rogue would return home speaking of the king and his mother being a princess. Despite his father's attempts at confining him within the castle, he would still break out and visit her. She died in his arms before his father locked him beneath the castle for good. The rogue was never given a name by his father, instead essentially being called "mutt/hound." this is the name the party knew him by for 90% of the campaign.

all they knew when they met him was that for one reason or another, the rogue's father was sending assassins after him, and he believed him to be dead after the most recent one appeared.

The party got to piece all of the true information together when he went missing during a ceremony honoring the party. He had built a network of support from dissident NPCs and planted things in secret during their time in the castle and managed to pull it all off flawlessly. When the party spotted a shadowy figure approaching the king and tried to intervene, they were halted by guards that were loyal to the rogue. he executed the king, claimed that he had avenged his mother's life, and revealed to the party the name she gave him as the true heir of the kingdom.||

it was a lot of fun. he's actually slated to be the next bbeg if we ever get together to play d&d again lol

I dont wanna go on a mega rant, but my main issue with Objects is poor defaults: mutable, nullable fields and properties, static vs instance, unknown side-effects of accessors (looking at you ruby), and deeply nested interface hierarchies which everyone seems to be moving away from.

My fave langs are functional first, great defaults, reasonable escape hatches

I would much rather use sum types, records and static functions than use objects again
