i understand the perspective, but i still stand my ground that one shouldnt recommend self medicating to the great majority, many places have good trans healthcare and some people (even close people to me) have been very harmed by trying to self medicate after being recommended dosis from other trans people. each body is a wonder and very different, with different reactions, different needs, for some people a really small dosis will quickly change them and getting a "standard" dosis will be overkill, while for others the highest dosis will do very little change.
i repeat that i am glad that it has worked out for you, but i dont think its okay to recommend it for everyone.

in the parts of europe i know, to even reach hormonal treatment and corresponding tests you need to have follow ups with an endocrinologist, unless you go full private and buy the hormones from somewhere, which depending in the person that can just be not feasible at all (ive seen hormone packs costing like 60€). now depending in the person, maybe you can compare yourself the results, or have the endocrinologist tell you. i just think that at least a person that is starting should have some ground to start with, where i live there's an excellent trans healthcare unit that comes with mental health as well. they are not perfect but it helped a lot an ex partner of mine that tried to self medicate.
