Folks, I'm a player in an IGF campaign and it's one of the best things I've ever played in. I just have to sing some praises. We're in Act 3 deep in the middle of the ||Steele Dome|| and it's been amazing, especially with how well my rather unique character has fit.

Jack Friendly, an NHP that most people know through his subaltern - a stripped down robotic frame with a CRT monitor for a head

He loves human subjectivity, he pretends to eat and drink, he grows plants in the corridors of Hell's Gate... and he hasn't cycled in 300 years. He came to Calliope as an onboard NHP for one of the original colony ships.

So imagine my delight when IGF introduces some proper NHP weirdness

Jack's subjectivity has been more-or-less unchanged, he's always been very eager (other NHPs might say obsessed) about being a human-style person.

He's had all kinds of roles on Hell's Gate over the centuries, most recently as general maintenance and lieutenant of the Special Response Team. He's, well, he's Jack! Jack Friendly! Always willing to lend a hand, always with a kind word to share, always first to volunteer for dangerous tasks, always with an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.

Now of course, an NHP going uncycled for 300 years is absurd, unheard-of, it should be impossible! But most people just kind of accept him, and either shrug their shoulders or suspect he's exaggerating. But, canonically between the players and GM, it's true. But why?

I have many ideas in store for him, should he start to cascade

We're using Bonds, and the NHPPC rules from Legionnaire

@willow needle did ||FC||, actually not as hard a fight as I was expecting (and super duper fun obviously). Initially the fact that you need to dash so much to get hits in (this might be the only fight where dash is required offensively rather than defensively lul) tripped me up but they're not actually so bad once you learn their patterns. Also funny that I found their final phase easier than their first phase because they used the one attack that actually hits me more often then.

||It's getting increasingly harder to separate the terrible terrible things happening in the US with the villains of IGF. The death cult, the ego billionaires, the sadists. These have always existed in one way or another, but never this many, this visibly.

IGF no longer feels like escapism and more like training or simulation of what is to come. Every conflict in this module is extremely real and extremely visceral right now and it weighs on me just as much as irl. Sometimes i feel bad for inflicting this on my players.||

Blink shield has its uses. Given that it helps prevent damage from certain attacks that go through it but you are mostly mobile with a sunzi. It might be an action econ tax to constant set up if you find the team constantly rearanging positions in the battlefield over staying put. Unlike barrier, I don't think it involves you being immobilized which is detrimental for a sunzi. You want to be able to get from place to place for good cover bonuses since your survival stats are below average.

Personally, I'd go demo 3 since it makes toss range 8 and BC are blast 3 so you can teleport someone 11 spaces away which is more viable, plus if you are ever blinded or have an LOS blocker, you just don't care.

Ideal outcomes for various generic combat scenarios you have in your mind

Depends on if i take demo or orator, but its basically on and off turns if that makes sense; complete turns in which i help the team by getting them into a good position, setting up my defense with stasis bolt and stasis barrier, setting up mines or scanning enemies with orator, making sure i have a leader dice on someone if i have it to spare
And then the turn where i teleport everyone into a killzone and displace them to eeby deeby

So basically

• Utility/support
• Kill
• Stabilize

So, bare in mind. Voice of reason (orator 2) or Convincing Rhetoric (Orator 1) will stop FA 2 from ticking up

Field analyst is very picky about hostile actions whereas Orator just doesn't like attacks or saves

It leads to awkward situations having 2 seperate pacifist counters that increase at different rates on different conditions

But orator 2 is cool

But for both demolitionist and Orator their strengths come in full effect at level 3

I think demo 1 and 2 are pretty good imo, being able to set mines further away and saving them is nice, lets you place a lot more

Orator 3 is one of those awkward talents where level 2 is good but level 3 is so incredibly goated that it puts level 2 to shame like duelist

And demo 3 specifically for mines (for ggrenades it's ggodly) it's only damage which is up to you tbh

Orator 3 is not really that good with FA, but like i said I'm going to have "on" turns where i blast with the displacer

So i can use the hostile orator dice then

And they're all free actions so i could still blink charge everyone into a blast 1 range and then blast them on that turn
