I'm turning that into a bit more of a conflict by getting the members of said far field team reaching Calliope and asking around if anyone knows where "Augustino Serrano" is. The man woke up a few days early (subj.) and took the shuttle. Now the team is months behind schedule trying to find his ass. It's a great way to introduce Kileyna Morton, Union politics, make August look like a liar, and attack his sense of community.

I do have to run some things by the player to make sure this is a direction they would want to go||

So essentially, I think this dream was heavily inspired by my evening walks here I listen to horror content on the side just to get into the slowly approaching spooky season. I had the deep booming voice of Wayne June acting as a narrator of sorts as I thought of essentially a pretty dark AU timeline of IGF where some kind of unknown virus was making people very ill. It started out small but it essentially was a small start to a really bad outbreak that led to some pretty horrible imagery of the infected.

I think my mind was trying to parse where it started and there were three primary theories of it starting in one of the lone thousand hab stations, some kind of food contamination that Steele thought was the ticket to even more food stocks or something else.

All I can say in non spoiler tier is that key locals had explosions that rendered them almost impossible to contact. Calliope was officially under some kind of isolation lockdown due to Union getting wind and of course they respond to this and Hell's gate is officially on the brink of being overrun by the "Ashen".

Spoilers, if you know the general story from ch1-3 you can read:
||So, Feather and the cult have decided to poison Calliope as a whole to allow for the issues going on to get them to work in the background of the chaos. They infected the wheat and other products in Calliope with some kind of spore that gives anyone that eats it a "blessing of the molten spore" whatever that meant. If you eat a piece of food that had the spore there was a chance you would become an "ashen" A body slowly melting and burning away but the mind would deteriate unable to identify they ar ein pain. Symptoms included lack of hunger, fever, into the person being essentially a husk with bits of ash wafting off them and what made them dangerous is that some had fire abilities that could create horror in stations. Flames a plenty. Since the enemies were so soft and spore like it could also gum up filtration systems. ||

So. Kat Tastro Phe, a player character in @shell bison 's game. She grew up as an orphan on Asphodel and got pulled into the Hell Hounds. Got close to Calamity which may have been a part of what got them nearly killed, then they were rescued together and ended up on Hell's Gate. They didn't start out dating, but got there by the end of ch1. in ch2: ||Bondarchuk was revealed to be her mother. She used that to manipulate Kat a bit for the cult's gain, but when she had a chance to leave her guilt kicked in and she came back and turned herself over. Kat had her brought to Hell's Gate, and they're repairing their relationship, with Bondarchuk getting a bit of a redemption arc. ||

Kat's player, Fors, is an artist and drew a lot of Kat and Calamity (she also drew a TON of Charlotte art that bunzi uses, and she drew my cult spy, and some other IGF stuff). Since Cal is originally a PC in my game, Bunzi showed me a lot of it, and I made something with Kat and Cal in return, and now Calamity's player and I are both close friends with Fors too.
