||When indiscriminate war broke out against Hercynia and its native inhabitants, the Egregorians, analogous to terrestrial arthropods, one of the corporations that intervened was Smith-Shimano Corpro (SSC). Obsessed with their own beliefs, symbols, and interests, they took advantage of the chaos to extract what they could before the TBK cataclysm. Among the Egregorian communities, the safest were the underground ones: individuals with vestigial wings, small eyes, fangs for digging, and muted colors. SSC captured a huge number of eggs and a weakened Overmind, the guiding consciousness of each community, while the rest of the surface morphs perished.||

||With this biological material, SSC began secret research on the Egregorians and their language, Witness, moving everything to the moon Koda, where they founded the Nakamura enclave, concealing their purpose under false lines of investigation. The Overmind, kept alive by force, was compelled to mark the newborn larvae with their blessing, engraving on their cranial plates the sign that, for the Egregorians, is equivalent to a surname. They thought that this effort would be their last act, unaware that SSC had no intention of letting them or their lineage die. During the larval stage, the Egregorians were subjected to brutal tests: genetic manipulation, implants, torture, forced to practice Witness and expand their mental capacity under the tenuous connection with the Overmind. SSC sought to reproduce lost morphs, explore limits and weaknesses, or simply forge an obedient legion. Although, as the small assets were reaching maturity, SSC moved the Overmind to project Emperor as their biological duties were seemed useless by that stage.||

||Of the thousands of eggs, only a few hundred hatched. Of those, a few dozen reached the chrysalis stage, and only twenty reached adulthood. Today, only four or five survive. Among them were a large War-morph; a Cave-morph similar to the current Egregorians; a third with useless but mobile wings and a more colorful pattern... and finally, an Air-morph, resurrected from a lineage considered extinct: antennae, large eyes, functional wings. That specimen was Reverie, who adopted that name to present herself to the Union, while SSC gave her the surname Nakamura. Her unique appearance attracted SSC's obsession. From the moment she spread her adult wings, Reverie was assigned to mechs, obtaining a Chomolungma, and subjected to constant training that isolated her from the relatively free life of her siblings. Trained as a Commando, an assassin, and a psy-ops operator, she was molded for absolute loyalty and indiscriminate elimination. Her human companions began to call her Chrysalis, as the mech she had to spend so much time in resembled her pupa, from which she, occasionally, emerged like a moth; others, with disdain, nicknamed her Cocoon; usually using an Amber Phantom, or a Dusk Wing, among others. When she wasn't in a mech, it could be for missions requiring more stealth, or for experimentation, but they were also for education, as SSC kept the Egregorians loyal by telling them what they wanted to hear, or by instilling their hatred toward any other rival, such as blaming corporations like Harrison Armory for the destruction of their home planet (so much so that it, supposedly, was completely obliterated), or that they couldn't even visit their Overmind (now as adults) because they were seriously ill, and that they should simply accept being able to connect with them via Witness, among other things.||

||Reverie's life became a contradiction: kind, agile and elusive outside the cockpit, cold, hardened and lethal inside it. All that training even allowed her to walk upright, imitating the human silhouette when using a prosocollar, but at the cost of growing smaller and more fragile than her siblings. The physical disconnection from the Overmind after adulthood made her existence even more monotonous: glorified or atrocious missions, murder, long interviews, torture, looks of envy and sick adoration. Sometimes she wondered if she was alive, or just a tool, depersonalized, moving by inertia under someone else's orders. SSC exhibited her as a symbol: the only flying Egregorian, a weapon and an emblem. But not everyone in Nakamura was happy with this. The director of the N.E.S.T.R.A. medical annex in Nakamura, who was actually an undercover spy from (?), had been supervising, directing and designing the experiments and torture for years, hiding a plan: to free, when the time came, the egregorians who needed it most, one by one. The first in need, was Reverie.||

||Cunningly, he rescued Reverie's first mech, the Chomo, and organized her escape to a distant but accessible system: Calliope. Under the guise of a final mission, he sent her with a transport free of corporate symbols and instructions to integrate into Hell's Gate station until she received contact from someone called Ember. Reverie accepted, unaware that, for the first time, she would have control over her life, or so it seemed. Upon her departure, the man said goodbye as if letting go of a daughter: after raising her, feeding her, and marking her with the pain of the years, he now granted her freedom, a freedom he might have not even chosen himself. In Calliope, Reverie Nakamura adopted the alias Anna Nemo, a mercenary equipped with an SSC-origin mech, using a prosocollar. But there she lost her connection to the Overmind, her psychic gifts weakening, and all contact with Nakamura, replaced by static silence. After weeks at the station, the weight of sadness and abandonment took over, leaving her with only one question: how long can she keep up the charade before everyone discovers who she really is?||

||Will she accept the inevitable truth? Will she refuse it, or seek the freedom that comes with it? Will someone, or something, be interested in lending a helping hand?||

||Note: She is 1.60m tall on two legs, but normally around 1 meter. She uses she/they because, if asked, she thinks human girls are cute, and if she had to choose, she would prefer to be female, although she doesn't mind being treated neutrally, but feels completely disconnected from male forms.||

So, Charlotte has a daughter by the name of Sara. They've been together for close to a decade now, give or take. Everyone just assumes that she is Charlotte's biological daughter. However, that's not really what happened...

No lookie team mates ||Sara was actually just about 12 when she first met Charlotte. This was during her time with 1st Oceanic under the House of Water within the KTB. Charlotte was a petty officer assigned for guard duty for the young noble Sara for a joint venture to improve relations with the House of Stone. There was to be a parade and a yound Sara was to pilot a mech as tribute to the people on the planet to show that their future is secure in the hands of the next generation. Sara hated it. Charlotte loathed the custom. However, they did seem to bond as Sara adored Charlotte's company for letting Sara actually be a teen and enjoy leisure time under her watch.

Sara's family house had full intent to convert Sara into a "War Doll/Idol" for the Hagiographic movement when she came of age but they ensured Sara had the training by the time she was a teenager.||

||During the operation to protect the parade, a radical Ungrateful cell attacked and bombed the event. Mechanized Chassis were engaged. It was a complete disaster with all VIP's listed as KIA. The security attachment were held at fault. Relations with Houses of Water and Stone were in shambles over the incident. Stone blaming Water's 1st Oceanic for not completeing their needed security measurements. To save face, all members of the security detail that survived were dishonorably discharged. Leading to Charlotte loosing all rank and potential career in House Water and military.

Char didn't care because, she secretly completed her objective. She saved Sara. Smuggled her off world back to her home station. Shortly after, Charlotte unofficially adopted Sara and they fled Karrakin space for the long rim to start new lives. As mother and daughter.||
