On the one hand, he's pretty scary, having 144 HP and 20 regeneration... but maybe that last bit is less of an issue if you've got a Sherman in the party because the various lasers are probably radiant damage by 5e standards.
He can punch for 8 damage... plus maybe an extra 14 damage if mechs can take necrotic damage
But a bunch of his other powers require line-of-sight to a humanoid (not possible because Mech) or grappling (not possible unless he's fighting size 1/2 mechs)
that's assuming 1 D&D damage = 1 Lancer damage, which is... probably not right

from my (possibly flawed) understanding: John Creighton Harrison was a big deal in some wat in the Second Committee of union. When the revolution came, he took those loyal to him to Ras Shamra and made a new state with blackjack and hookers. There was, as you might expect, some tension between Union and the newly minted Harrison Armoury, with neither side really happy to actually start shooting, but also neither side wanting to back down.
Eventually, as FutureJuli said, JCH I agreed to be taken into custody and executed, so long as he got to go back to Cradle to do it, and on ther understanding that HA would be allowed to exist as a member-state of Union, and provide 30% of Unions military materiel.
As mentioned, we also have his clone-sone JCH II... although it's unclear to me if II was 100% I, or 70% JCH I and 30% Various Other Nobles... they certainly did that mix-and-match thing for JCH III

JCH II ruled for a long time, and set up the Think Tank (at least, I think he did?), but presumably worried about his mortality, so set the Think Tank to solving that, while also commissioning dozens of JCH IIIs, each of which were 70% the original, and 30% Other Nobles. The immortality plan might have been some kind of seamless conciousness transfer? It's unclear
Anyway, RA rocks up, goes "oi, stop trying to be immortal". JCH II goes Fuck You I Won't Do What You Tell me, the HA fleet opens fire and gets annihilated by their own shots due to RA opening blinkspace portals. JCH II is obliterated as many of the portals route the incoming fire through the throneroom.

I've tried running a Suldan game and it's kinda trailed off due a mix of one player not being able to make it often and myself being not too happy with my own writing

which isnt to say anything about their quality for these are just my own limited Opinions
but like the Drake? Its a brick wall that seems to have a bout of mobility thatll allow it to do a good bit of articulated movement whilst with other stuff itll either be way to jumpy for me or be stiffer then..... A cast Iron Bar

100% yeah. I think I'd like Battletech more if I read more of the lore, but the mech designs on it are only so cool to me.

Gundam is cool, but I never watched much of it, and same thing, mech designs or very hit or miss for me. That being said I miss Gundam Evolution that was a fun game

thats totally radical, my favorite are the Necrons for unironically beyond the Guard the Lords/Overlord/and Pharons are more human then near any other faction and it is entirely tragic
