||Upon arriving back at Hells Gate the whole party was ambushed by Ipswich for an interview. Charlotte tried to make it very clear that we were on the Tachyon to grab printer parts but Archie did what Archie does and was just super autistic and blunt and admitted that she killed him. Archie didn’t even realize this was Ipswich due to being absolutely traumatized by Feather, and Ipswich actually knew her before she joined the SRT??? Horizon gang rise up. Grimmr, Finley, and Artifice disappeared as soon as they started asking questions, and poor Charlotte was outnumbered by Archie and Ariadne making absolute fools of themselves. Ariadne proudly screamed in front of all of the cameras “I HAVE CAPELLAS FLAMETHROWER!!!!” and then her and Archie high fived.

Archie bolstered the Horizon Collective presence of Hells Gate with the help of Ipswich, mostly to get attention while she does all of the work, by using Get Organized. Charlotte built an apiary (honey bunn), Ariande went to the Icebreaker early with Archie and gambled and participated in the mech arena and did great in everything but the personality part (very fitting). Finley and Art went cubbying, but not together, and Grimmr tried to train the Militia but that dude is kind of weird so it didn’t work.

The squad met with Rita, half of us already on the Icebreaker, and while everyone was reacting properly to all of these not great things happening, Archie was practically vibrating at the chance to be a detective like her favorite book series, star detective. When everyone showed up to the Icebreaker both her and her drone were wearing a detective’s hat and was playing the role way too enthusiastically, introducing herself to everyone as ‘Detective Archerberg’ (later shortened to Detective Archie, yes this is how I’m going to change her name) and acting like she was the most important person in the investigation. Charlotte played along and she said “Finally SOMEONE recognizes my excellence.” Finley immediately got into a bar fight and had a bottle smashed over his head IN THE SAME BUILDING AS RITA and then proceeded to become quite the assistant detective and made some great points; maybe the concussion helped.

We were investigating Tarben’s apartment and when Finley or Charlotte, I don’t remember, pointed out that the bust of The One was a phoenix, Archie lost her shit more than she already was looking at it, terrified that the UNSHACKLED NHP is eerily similar to the iconography of this religion that is seemingly involved in this bullshit on the Icebreaker. She immediately started telling people to put it down and get it away from her, remembering how Feather locked her in the Tachyon’s systems that for her felt like an hour, constantly surrounding her with the horrifying visage of the bird’s heads and ear piercing sounds. Finley tells her “Save your trauma for another time.” Banger quote. Then fucking TARBEN WALKS IN.

Apparently Tarben time traveled 2 weeks into the future from his point of view, because bro was carrying groceries and was very confused at why his place was trashed and if it wasn’t for Charlotte he probably would have thought it was the squad. Ariadne immediately starts thirsting over him so hard she can’t close her mouth and is practically drooling; Archie closes her bestie’s mouth and not long after she did Ari just spouts breathlessly “You have so many abs.” He also mentions that he was in a part of the station that has been off limits for decades met an old lady with Asphodel gear down there, and didn’t notice anything wrong about that??? Archie was given a room despite her requesting not to given how she can stay with both Siren and Lyra, so she gave the keys to him. Archie was incredibly annoyed at how stupid he is, but that’s not too unusual for her. Shortly after we set out to investigate. Now we’re starting combat next session :) ||

Chapter 5 is done, at least for me. Léo already posted some snippets of how things went. I think my personal highlight came from something I planned about a week ago.

This one. The Heart of Hearts use was mine. (Chapter 5) ||After a scan revealed that the chosen is invulnerable, Fritz went "challenge accepted, you pseudo psychopath!" and did something no one expected: He has a trigger called "paracausal wrangler" at +6 which allows him to affect and restrain that which defies the laws of physics. He also has a system called "Pyrrhussieg" which is liturgy code based on a machine Feather once controlled. Fritz redirected the focus of that code onto Capella, started up the Coreburn protocol of his Sherman to use the extra power generated by the manifold to brute force his way into the paracausality and then vent it. If experience taught him anything, then you fight the paracausal with the paracausal and by being more stubborn than it is. And if anyone can be said to have the willpower to pull this off, it would be him. The golden flames on Andros' mech vanished, only releasing steam where they once where. Fritz's Sherman, on the other hand, glowed with the same light instead and, like a refinery on overdrive, spewed out the golden flame in one giant torrent towards the sky. Capella's supernatural abilities ceased to function and the mech became exposed as a result of this onslaught. Sam finished the job by unloading his minigun into the mech.||
