Cyclone Pulse rifles make easy work of would be Harrison Armor.

It craves for its modicum of matter. For what was done here. In this anamoly...

Jets spooled up. The knight of black and white needed more range than what he could reach for. The mightest hit needed more. See the angles. Inspire the second. Charlotte's frame clapped it's hands. The one Mono Eye shut to open a pyramid with the fingers. Opened and the breach created. Push her senses to her team mate. "SHOOT INTO THE BREACH. TRUST ME." A truer shot never flew so deeply into an enemy howitzer.

CH2: ||So first night on the icebreaker, you know how the players get a mini downtime before the meeting with Rita? Rosé wanted to explore the station a bit (and maybe make a drop-off or connection with the local cult spy ring), so she took the Go Diving action from Long Rim. Except... Siren asked to come with. So Rosé went out into the seedy side of the station with Siren in her subaltern and she mostly gave up on meeting her contacts. I rolled the die and got stuck with a choice between losing a knife fight or getting "the meat sweats". (so close to "gaining a reputation as 'mistress', dang)||

||I chose knife fight. We discussed how that might have happened and landed on Rosé being a little intoxicated by drugs and booze, when some jerkwad made a disparaging remark about her companion's synthetic body. Now, she's a spy, she's undercover, she shouldn't pick fights. But she's also a bit out of sorts, so she calls the guy out. He gets belligerent, Rosé isn't thinking right and escalates, dude pulls a knife and so does she. Even with the drugs she could have taken him, but at the last moment she thinks "wait, I'm a spy is my cover supposed to be good at knife fighting?" and before she could figure it out she got stabbed.||

||Luckily Rosé carries a patch and stim set, so Siren was able to take care of her and bring her back to the hotel. She couldn't really admonish Rosé because Siren was also a bit fucked up (code drugs) and she was kind of flattered at Rosé defending her honor||

They both kind of trauma dumped to each other for a bit before having a sweet moment where they both realized that they were abandoned in the vastness of space and come from a not great past, although Archie doesn't remember hers. Siren grabbed her hand as Archie was sobbing in the bar, and Arche asked "I don't want to be that person- I'm not that person. Am I?" Siren reassured her that she's a wonderful person and none of that represents her. She then called her cute which snapped her out of sad mode as she just kind of laughed at the wild swing in emotion she felt, and they flirted a bit before she fell asleep on the countertop she was sitting on.||

In Leviathan's game, (ch2? maybe act 2? unsure) ||Lyra appeared just before we went in for chapter 4 to take care of Laplace and HEDRON's Balwinder-Bolaño tests, as well as introduce a Noah class NHP to the party (Atlanta). During the tests it was revealed that Laplace's shackling is nigh impenetrable, on par with calibration comp/cons used during shackling procedures, and HEDRON was entirelly unshackled but wass able to use Aisaan as a window into human perspective. She lamented heavily that two spontaneous manifestation third wave rare specimens were right in front of her and she couldn't publish any research about it. Which Laplace offered to help with, so now he and Léo are forging credentials for her in downtime.||

The spoiler is ||Lyra's||(person we've been talking about) muse handle / identity? that could come up at any time really depending on GM but it's not clear until act 2 in the book || Lyra has only shown up in my game in the muse logs of DRIVETRAIN'S secret Sigdiver chatroom. Kraken got an invite after meeting DT through Striga, and Lyra (G0M) was a bit snippy about it.||

||DT and Kraken later worked out that S1GN4L survived the fight in chapter 1 because they sent a few messages to DT after the Tachyon exploded. S1GN4L is still missing, but it wasn't the SRT's fault exactly.||

||and frankly that choice feels like the only one that gets that degree of connection to begin with. Unless your party actively bounces off of switch and loki or something. It's not really an issue imo given that you get to do multiple routes but the module definitely gives you more hooks for that one than it does for the others by a significant margin as is. ||

||to be clear I don't think that's really a negative. Loki and Switch having such a strong part in the end of act 1 is otherwise very positive and having one route that has significantly more personal connection than the others isn't an issue in the context of how act 2 is structured. But I'd be much more worried about making other routes be lopsided with each other, not that one in particular.||

A2 ||I put a ton of hooks into my players to each route and pulled hard. For HA, Kraken is dating Loki and Pear is dating switch, Gabriel had that whole vision of the glasscage blowing up everything (when he shot it), and Calamity has a friend asking her to look into HA. For SSC, Gabriel and Kraken are both SSC designer babies so there's some underlying threat there. Kraken MET MIND ALREADY and their brother is on the skyhook and moira ran away to the skyhook. For KTB, Gabriel knows his cousin is with them and coming to kill him, Calamity is worried someone there is after her too (or her girlfriend, but that's a long story), and everybody on the team loves Furnace City. For Impact Dynamics, they all hate steele, they all hate the starvation, and Calamity is friends with Howl after beating her in the tournament, on paper it's the one with the least pressing ties...||

The sequencer module (required for Lancer FX) lets you play images and videos over the screen. I did a bunch of video editing for the effects and rendered them as webms with a transparent layer so they appeared over the foundry UI. Just needs to be set up in a macro and you have a one-touch button to kick off the animations

The battle mat too is a video file. CHAPTER 4 ||I edited five different vids with a bunch of strange surreal scenes made in a few game engines (bonus points to anybody who gets them all, some are more obvious than others). The crystals on the battlefield I made myself as pixel art, though my players drew two of them for me and I edited them to fit the color pallet I used. The original idea I had behind NPC Gabriel when I pitched to Vex was he was an ally with Rita, but not publicly to give to give them both political leverage. Again, your game your Gabriel so you don't have to go that route, I love the idea of him just being "who are these people who are making noise." You could also play it as either Rita didn't tell him for opsec reasons which is completely reasonable and would even help sell to the rest of the board his "neutrality" since why would he meet with and look into these people if he was in the know. Or you could run it as Rita does have him in the loop and all this was an independent vetting process from him to see if he could get them to spill the bean and thus prove whether they were reliable agent for Rita or not, adding another lair to the shenanigans, lol||

So SPEAKING OF GRIM SUFFERING and making people cry I'mma get back to my storytime. CHAPTER 4 ||Last time I showed off my animations for the CAUSTIC fight. The SRT curbstomped the combat, honestly. Poor CAUSTIC didnt' stand a chance. Calamity's Blackbeard core power hit every NPC, Kraken followed up with a Stuncrown and everybody failed something, it was incredible. So we pick up at the end of the fight. (side note, the book didn't have the section on talking CAUSTIC down yet). Calamity ran to Aveline's (annabelle mckenzie)'s side and tried to get her out of the crystal while Kraken is urged by Moira to save CAUSTIC...||

||Additional side note for the latter bits: Siren and Calamity had been getting a lot closer but haven't started dating yet by this point.||

That was the single most harrowing bit of RP I've ever fucking done. Same for Calamity's player. We had a long talk after the session, basically aftercare. It was so painful but so goddamn good. We both cried for real in the moment, and cried after. I'm tearing up again right now remembering it. I know my recap can't fully capture that emotion but I hope there's enough there for y'all.

Yeah, the end of Chapter 4 was rough. ||Gabriel "having work to do" was him burying himself in his charity work because being busy meant that he didn't have to dwell on the nightmares and didn't have to dwell on how guilty he felt that he was failing his friends by being completely unable to help his friends when they needed him in that moment, even though there wasn't anything he could do but that doesn't make it better that just makes it worse he's supposed to help people||
