But then you get to one station in particular where some people decided that to make sure to preserve continuity you should immediately kill yourself as the brain scan finishes, because since there's only the brainscan version of you now there's no coinflip which has to mean that continuity isn't broken, which in turn means that you were the one who gets put in the computer.||
||Cult Léo would "save" people by making scans of them with the chomolungma's scanning capabilties, then lock them in their cockpit with "Jam Cockpit", and then cause a meltdown.||

A braggart Karrakin noble (might be exiled) on the Icebreaker who's not doing the best at hiding it and is a mech fighting league combatant, they're oddly lucky and this has been suspected to be tournament-banned predictive tech but searches of their mech have never turned up anything.
If the players investigate them they complain about prophetic flashes that, while they've been helpful in the past, recently keep showing doom and fire in the near future, which has them frazzled. Suspicious of the Cult but has no hard evidence. Detests Deepest Fairyland on aesthetic grounds.

Can be recruited to Hell's Gate, even if they annoy other Calliopeans they are competent at piloting and business and are quickly 'volunteered' by DeJean to assist with the piles of digital paperwork. Can be used as a source to give players an Exotic or License with the excuse of "Seems like you need this more than me right now.. and maybe I know it's going to be banned in the next season, so no point hanging on to it."

Not much would change about Fritz, honestly. He wouldn't be a member of the SRT. Just someone who is a part of Hell's Gate station security. His goals wouldn't change. He's still distrustful of outsiders.

He'd be more someone quiet, but sometimes explosive, in the background who no one really knows what he is doing.

Laplace never manages to take over the Hundred Faces, never actually becomes Laplace and gets deleted after Hundred Faces finds out about his plan to take over.
Léo, without Lap to help him quickly gives up on piloting and becomes little more than the errand boy of an emotionally distant and manipulating Simaris who's only bothered about learning new stuff and preciously little else. He loses his mech at some point either selling it to have enough money for other more vital things, meaning he never gets proper sleep and looks tired all the time, jumping at every shadow he sees. If you catch him he could probably sigdive or hack something for you for some money.

As of the start of Mission 4, ||her sister is presumed dead and her father is under arrest, and she does not know why.|| It's gonna get even worse eventually, and if none of the PCs want to support her (though I know they will) ||she'll probably either act irrationally agressive towards the Cult in anger, or find herself recruited into the Inner Cult.||

Oh, hoisties is kind of an insider term for me and various friend groups. It's from a joke where in a big Lancer IRL Meetup back in april of last year in the UK I offered people hugs since we've been friends for so long. I'll go through honorable mentions of favorite moments.

• Mission 1: ||Just the Tachyon, it's the players first experience with the wackiness of setting and paracausalality, showing the game can be a horror and doesn't always need to make sense||
• Mission 2:
• ||First downtime, my 2 knave players INSISTED and used bond powers to get into the hellfire leagues. On critical successes and bond powers they got in and they LOOOVE it, so much energy and goofy intensity||
• ||anti capital shows the players their first ultra, I love this fight. There's so much going on and it's so brutal. My players learnt how to play optimally and they fucking needed to. Finished the fight, no player was above 1 structure||
• ||Investigating in general was great, they cracked the clues and figured it out. Knowing from the beginning the answer was GIANT DEATH LASER||
  Mission 3:
• ||The aftermath of the thief fight, the players did not take that well...||
• ||Must I say, ??? Broke my players narratively. I described that fight perfectly and it broke my players brains. Once the fight finished OH BOY they all go "sound off, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT"... and then, well do I need to say what happened after? Because that was great too||
• ||Bad star was so good, I ran bad star solo but instead made it a narrative challenge. Insulting bad star and buying time until the barbarossa fully charged and one shot him with an Apocalypse rail, much better than a regular fight!||
  Mission 4 (early and during downtime)
• when the party got access to their NHPs. God damn it was fun, having to introduce 4 new NPCs to the party of which 3 sat in the same mech and telling him that this is his problem now whilst the PC was partially drunk and having to babysit an osiris class NHp in a horus IMP with a god complex

• Early mission 4 ||players aren't too far into the Boltzmann, but they are Loooving it. Its a shame it's on delay and god ddamn I love this, I got maximum compliments of "if wanted to be sewing during this session but im too captivated by the session" and "I'd just play through all of the horror segment on one weekend in one sitting"||

For Fritz, chapter 4 has further reinforced a belief he held from the time he enlisted into the army and fought in the Neo-Teutonic Civil War: ||Paracausal means bad news. There is no reasoning with that which defies the laws of the universe. The best one can do is accept it and push on. He has seen enough death and paracausal tech to the point he is just tired of the universe repeating the same terrible joke over and over again. The only time his mood wasn't "emotionless shell piloted by logic" throughout the investigation is when he saw The Spire in the mines. He wasn't calm anymore. He was furious.||

I think a highlight for me was in Ch2 where after a fight we had party members really second guessing themselves and Charlotte stepped up to get them to either talk or trust her to let out their frustrations. She one team mate call her out on opening fire on a squad and another just sit next to her and enjoy some coffee to deal with the after action report.

So she had a moment where she kind of reflected on herself and decided that she should spend her energy helping those she could rather than dwelling on those she couldn't- calamity was someone who kind of bothered her for a bit because on one hand, she was a pirate, and on the other, wow did she have a sense of longing to be outside the station that serenity could understand. In this universe serenity saved calamity when she was in critical condition (trauma surgeon) and when she found out she was their engineer things were... Tense. It wasn't until the end of ch1 when serenity finally began understanding that calamity deserves a lot more than how she was treating her (she deserves the whole world tbh)
