After my Jerry briefing scene, my players' feedback was "Jerry is not as weak/nervous as I imagined."

My own interpretation of this matter is that Jerry's anxiety comes from having to manage a massive space station and the lives of two million people, but giving a mission briefing to a fireteam of 3 to 5 people? That's something he's good at, and even if he's far removed from that past, he won't easily lose that ability

which is hardly the strangest backstory my players have. this group is notorious for complicated shit but I encourage it most of the time. the first player I recruited as a joke suggested playing her elf from a d&d game we had both played in the year prior, isekai’d into the lancer setting. and the long rim is already so full of weirdos (endearing) that I didnt see a reason that that would disrupt the vibe of the game. plus, since most of us havent played lancer before, having a character whos not from here makes for an easy audience surrogate pov for explaining tech and in-universe lore, etc

My players didn't pay any attention to what happened to ||S1GN4L|| after his mech was destroyed, since they had other foes to deal with. Then in chapter 4 they learned the hard way that ||S1G ran off, figuring Capella wouldn't believe that he didn't tell the SRT everything. He hid with a friend of his, but that was a mistake; said friend was in the circuit, and S1GN4L ended up in the spire.||

see, || Gabriel burned a lot of stress in the first two fights, and wanted a power at a cost to salvage some materials from the revenants to repair his reactor. So I allowed it, with a caveat that the price would be a secret to be revealed later. In the fight with CAUSTIC, round one, Gabriel and Stoneleigh heard a voice inside the mech that wasn't either of them. Gabriel dug into his mech's access panels and found those black crystals growing on his reactor casing.. and the crystal said "0h h3y, 5up?". Stoneleigh screamed, Gabriel screamed, the crystal screamed and accidentally triggered the ejection system. "000000h 5h17 dud3, my 84d!1!" Gabriel started the first round of the fight on foot, and when he re-boarded he was impaired. Luckily Stoneleigh is able to pilot instead, and scooped him up.||

how does psionics translate to cybernetic brain implants? probably doesnt at all, but it makes just enough sense if youre standing far away squinting at it

My players last week were playing ping pong with a nuclear meltdown NPC

the enemy was desperately trying to teleport the nuke into the PCs and the PCs were doing the same the whole ass round

that guy moved like 25 spaces total that round while being Immobilized
