It's a VERY bad sign, it's crossing a boundary line beyond 'acceptable player behaviour' and into 'I must exert control over my situation compulsively'. I've seen it happen before and there are normally two possible causes, the first is pure narcissism, they genuinely cannot abide the idea of not being as powerful/informed as the GM. The second is crippling fear of the unknown and a feeling of lack of agency. There is no cure for the first. There are cures for the second, but they don't happen in a game session, they happen at a therapists office.

ASquared is right, this is going to get worse before it gets better, and the indicator is that they 'called you out' on things. They aren't even being subtle, they're flaunting their informed status to flex on you and assume power and control at the table. This is behaviour that is certainly going to escalate. You need to deal with it out of character, away from the table.

In ours, I ran a scene where one PC's technophile NHP was ultimately responsible, but in a way that implicated 3/4 of the SRT.

The steamer princess (who wasn't originally part of the SRT) gave an incompatible printcode to a random fan who claimed to have "some friends with priority print access". The Technophile player then got asked by their NHP if he could "borrow" their printer access key to make some last minute edits to their mech.

Our wrenchie just happened to be the only one from maintenance near the printer when the inevitable happened, and Chief McArthur isn't convinced he has nothing to do with it

Fellow IGF Gm's I have a question:
How busted would it be if I let me players take three friends into ||Ch3 travel as NPC Allies in fights?||

||game balance would suffer. as a GM i would probably make them fight a second threat off screen, which definitely helps you, but makes my life balancing fights easier||

||I have only four and was thinking they had a pool of 4 to choose only 2 that could come along but having three be a back up group and they can only take maybe two at a time in a combat helps a bit case then I can rev up difficulty in combats to 5 players ||

Upgun your fights. Like, 5 player combat variants at least. Our group learned this the hard way - plus our players ||visited the Crone and learned all our combat layouts in advance. So I couldn't retroactively change them. They won, very, very hard||

My thoughts would be

Each ally gets x amounts of charges
You can spend 1 to have an Ally give acc on a check, 3 to have an Ally do smk for you or all of an allys tokens to have them show up in a fight.

Numbers need tweaking but you get the gist

Okay I think I got an idea.
I'll have a set number of charges they can call on before or during fights. If they feel like they need reinforcements or a fight looks like it could use some back up I will let them burn a charge for one to come along, BUT this also means I get to add some more enemies or templates to stack for the players now having 5 tokens on the board.

Plus, I won't allow them to use the NPC for a check of anytype. All they can do is provide accuracy and such during events so the players are still prio

As in, "Hey, X or Y is known about this. Can they help me with this check?"
"Tht's reasonable, go for it."

||For the travel portion, maybe. For the Arena, it is entirely possible for you to roll into each fight with a Squad, 4 grunt berserkers, a Sentinel, a Ronin, and a Veteran Assault. I wouldn’t worry about it tbh||
