No worries! Congrats on your hundo! :D I would purify it myself since that's normally what I do, although some people prefer to have the 20% attack boost over the IV increase and the reduced candies it takes to evolve them, although with a Magikarp I'd say reduced candies to evolve is quite valuable. :)

You just get a quest from that Dr and that quest has multiple parts which goes on once you have complete and collected rewards of the previous part. And the 3 tasks are found by pokestops or gets randomly generated if you have completed and collected the reward.
