It actually varies based on a L9 cell's Poi density.

If you're in a heavily populated (by Poi) L9 area, you're more likely to have to wait longer than a L9 cell with less populated Poi. The total density is based on L6 cells.

The city I live in is split not only by four L9 cells, but an entire two different L6 cells as well.

Basically, if the city you live in/near has a ton of Poi, you're more likely to have to wait a while for acceptance.

Some places take up to two years.

I reviewed nearly 100,000 nominations and got 1,250 POIs approved. I know about the L9 cells. It is just easier to explain to someone new that it varies a lot depending on country, city, number of reviewers, etc.

Review more and earn an upgrade. It will definitely help you get approved it faster. I am fortunate that I have been submitting for a long time, so the Machine Learning AI bot love me and approve most of my submissions 22 hours after I submit them.

Up to three Gyms are determined when a L14 cell has a certain number of Poi visible as stops/gyms

Those two gyms side-by-side were probably made when the other Poi were placed

First gym is determined when 2 Poi are accepted in the the L14 cell

The second gym is determined when 6 poi are accepted in the L14 cell

The third gym is determined when 20 Poi are accepted in the L14 cell

Now, these are also Poi that are actually visible in PoGO.

Power Spots don't count

A gym placement can be manipulated on existing Poi. The Poi with the most Photos and Photo Likes (voted on at least a day or two before the new Poi is placed in the game) will become a Gym. However, Pokéstops with active Showcases will NOT become a Gym (I learned this recently, not sure if they'll become one without Showcases active).

Are you reviewing other submissions? If you don't interact with the review system and just spam submissions they might stay stuck in queue forever.

Submissions have been getting denied more often lately. Not sure what caused this change. Clearly a whole lot of players made it to level 37+ and can use wayfarer now that couldn't before.

I had a large Noah's ark that can fit like 30 kids on and inside it get denied because someone flagged it as a duplicate. The duplicate? The entrance sign to the park.

So, that's in appeal now but clearly these new wayfarer users don't know how to use wayfarer yet.

Wayfarer is the system Niantic uses to accept waystops (waystops are points of interest, such as attractions, arts etc) those waystops can appear different in different Niantic games, for Pokemon go for example, you have some rules about how many pokestops are allowed within a square kilometer (for exemple)

Wayfarer uses users input data, which means anyone (at least in Pokemon go) above level 37 can create a pokestops, after that, it will be voted by other users if it obeys the rules that Niantic stated, so it can be accepted or rejected, after that, if it obeys the maximum amount of pokestops in certain area, it will be displayed in the game

1. Is there is a minimum distance a new wayspot in a full cell has to be away from a wayspot visible in GO in order to become a Power Spot?
2. Do we already know how Power Spots are distributed? (I read up to 2 per L14 cell but there seem to be counterexamples)
3. Is it known if Niantic has some kind of "rollout deadline" for new Power Spots to be added to the rotation or if it just randomly picks from all eligible wayspots in a certain S2 cell whenever Power Spots rotate?

My school is opening a historical library soon within campus that will be open to the PUBLIC, as my school is built in the late 1800s and has a huge native history. First you need to get to level 37, (you cant have a child account to make a pokestop), after that you go into settings and ”general” then press ”make pokestop” and you photo the store. At least thats what i know

Basically the way to make a pokestop or a gym you have to take a picture of whatever you’re trying to make into a pokestop (Usually a land mark or something of importance) provide a description of what that thing or area is and submit it for review. If its something thats valid they will approve it, but you have to make sure its somewhere that is PUBLIC. Otherwise it may get reported by people in the area. Now on the otherhand I’ve seen some random things get through and some things get sent back as a “Bad suggestion” if you get too many of these “Bad suggestions” you could get a soft ban from sumbitting requests which works in strikes. 1st ban being the minimum ban and so on and so forth.

Seen some people get banned straight up for that because of reports lol. Yes that can be a stop or a gym just usually over-exaggerated descriptions make it better. If you mention cool unique things about what you’re taking a picture of then it has a higher chance of being approved

About it being accesible to the public, at my local zoo theres a bunch of stops and gyms that you cant reach from outside, unless you get lucky with gps drift. If it costs money to enter is it still allowed or what? Also its essentially just a bike shop on a residently street not sure if that matters though haha.

I shouldve been more specific when I said public. That dosent always mean the area has to be FREELY accessible where visitors come and go. The example you mentioned like a zoo is still technically considered public cause anyone can get in if they pay an admission

Big buildings like where comic con takes place can be considered public but obviously if the building is closed and people cant get in, the radius circle could still reach if its close enough to the player. But that dosent mean break in to get the stop

Sorry for the late reply. It depends on what you mean by "too close to one another". But the short answer is probably yes.
Only 1 poi (stop/gym) can exist per S2 lvl 17 cell. It seems you submitted 6 pois all within the same cell, so if 1 is created, no matter if the other ones get accepted or not, they won't show in PoGO.
The only exception to this is Powerspots, as they can only be created in cells where there is an existing stop/gym as long as the poi that created the Powespot is at least 22m away from the preexisting stop/gym.

S2 Cells are a Google-developed system for dividing the Earth into a hierarchical grid of squares
The ones PoGo (and us) care about are S2 level 17 and level 14 cells.

• Level 17: The smaller one, only 1 pokestop/gym can exist within each. A Powerspot (the violet Dynamax place) can be created if another submission is accepted within an already occupied cell, with a distance of at least 22m between them.
• Level 14: The larger one, only 3 gyms can exist within it.

1) "we can create stops only through game or from wayfarer?"
You can submit pois (which can then become stops, gyms or powerstops) from your game. Wayfarer is the "companion" website/service that manages the submissions. In it you can review other people submissions and Upgrade your submissions so that they get reviewed faster.

2) What should we consider before making a stop in game to get a gym or spot?
You should check the Wayfarer criteria for stops/gyms. There's a lot of good info on it. A summary would be that stuff that's good/interesting/unique for the community works well, while schools, private property and dangerous places aren't accepted.

3) So how long will it take for a spot to come online? Same as like a gym?
Once a submission is accepted, it takes around 24 hours max (in my experience) to appear in-game (taking into account that it met the criteria to become a pokestop/gym like we previously discussed).

4) What should i type on google to get this s2 cell page to see it?
I use an app called "IITC Mobile Beta" on my android to check the S2 cells. I can't really tell you the steps to install it and the PoGo addon (because I forgot), but it shouldn't be hard to find that on Google. Alternatively, there are websites like "PoGoMap" that show the S2 lvl 17 and 14 cells.

Submissions require the input of many reviewers to get accepted/rejected, but Niantic has bots that automatically reject submissions that don't meet the criteria

Basically I highly recommend watching a YouTube video on this but the idea is there’s S2 cells on the map you can’t see in game and need another app for “IITC” and there’s L17 and L14 cells 14 are bigger and for the first 2 pokestops in a L14 it makes 1 gym the again at 6 and again at 20 so I would recommend watching a video setting up a app to see the cells and nominate stuff to get pokestops made in the spots you need for more gyms on wayfarer

A waypoint is supposed to be a place where people gather. If it's a building that is. I wanted to say that a lot of the stops are back from the Ingress days when there were no rules. The rules have changed a billion times so there's no consistency. But there is definitely a strict grid for the waypoints in Pogo so sometimes it's just not going to get accepted

If the hoops are part of a single like double courts the second hoop will likely be flagged as a duplicate unless if their is like a sign or different type of sport courts it is usually just dupe, also you can check cause it is not always gyranteed a two stops would be their as you would most likey need to check pogomap.info to see like what could be their by pressing the level 14 to 17 s2 cells
