Isnt that a bike rack shelter?
no
Trolley shelter?
Bus stop?
You need to tell me what it is and what its for
To me it doesnt look like an eligible submission
Why did you need to paint over it
For me it does look like a bike shelter
dont live in country where bikeing is that popular to be special shelters outside + there were some guys hanging out so i painted
Can signs or murals inside of stores are eligible?
Oh ok
Whatw being blurred?
drunk guys
Can be eligible if your able to explain how it's a gathering area
You can’t have people in the picture in the nomination cause that’s one of the rejection criterias
Unless your using that picture as an example
how long does an appealed nomination take
Well
Niantic is trying to review First in First out, and they have reached february appeals. Sometimes you can be lucky and niantic breaks FIFO and takes more recent appeals
Why can’t you save upgrades?
you can, there's a setting to turn off auto apply
Oh ok
Thanks, sadly wasted an upgrade that I wanted to save for but it is what it is
ah that sucks. they only added that pretty recently and before that you could only mark your 1 next upgrade. before that... fully random
Welp it got accepted tho so not bad I guess
Nice
Hello! I am looking to suggest my first pokestop. I have already passed the exam that it gives you and I wanted to ask you guys a few questions!!
So in my backyard, there is the community neighborhood clubhouse and park. There is a sign by the clubhouse, but it just says our neighborhood.
Would I have a better bet making it the clubhouse with the sign, or try for the park/jungle gym area that also does not have a sign. Sorry if this is not the correct format for questioning, I have not done much research into this channel.
When you say "my backyard" it makes me feel like it might be, or might appear to be, private single family private residential property (prp), which would be ineligible. If the land is truly shared, like a park or HOA/apartment property it should be okay, but reviewers will need to accept that and not mistake it for prp.
A park/area sign could be eligible on its own but would have more luck if it actually says "[Named] Park" rather than being a generic neighborhood sign. The playground equipment (even without a sign) is almost definitely acceptable on its own - provider it's definitely not prp.
If you're comfortable, you could take some pictures and share them, and/or share the location, or privately share the info if you aren't comfortable with it public. It would help give clearer answers - but certainly don't dox yourself.
Thoughts on this?
Looks like art, could be eligible. I dont know any more details
Oh alright it’s because I wanted to know if they could be eligible if they were on the floor
It can but it needs to be public.
well, needs to not be a single family residence
other limited access locations are ok
Could a stop sign in a neighborhood become a poke stop?
If it’s a regular stop sign then no because it’s mass produced
Either way I don’t think stop signs can be eligible as well
That’s dumb
Not really
a regular old stop sign being a pokestop is dumb
youd have 4 in every intersection
😂
Just imagine every block would be filled with a pokestop because of a stop sign being there
And that’s bad?
If the stop signs are not accessible on foot, yeah
Plus they are not eligible as roli said
We all want more stops, but they cant just be random mass produced objects
I understand I’m sad now
Yes, waypoints are supposed to be Points Of Interest, not Points of Generic Infrastructure
I want to make a pokestop in my house, any ideas of what I can turn into one?
Has to be an land mark like a church and u can’t do anything about it if ur house ain’t special
Nothing!
Go onto the dark web and order a life size statue of nepolian painted in the colours of america with an airfryer in its hand
How do you join the xerneas raid or whatever? It's set up diff than the nurse Joy ones
For details on how PokeNav raids works, please read #how-to-remote-raid. And this channel is for wayfarer only, so if anymore questions, please ask in #help-and-feedback
Move into a park or museum
True
i submitted some statues, but they got declined as duplicates, but they arent. we have like three diff groups of statues at the same place and they have kinda same theme. i also cant appeal that stop bc i am appealing rn another one (?)(since like 2 weeks already). idk the appeal system confuses me...
is there anything else i can do?
bc my submission is legit different from the already existing stops 🤡
i even wrote in the extra field that we have three diff groups of statues, but it doesnt seemed like ppl read that and just declined
While you submit something there, do you see any orange pins on the "Select location" map part of the submitting process? If you press on those you can see the details of wayspots not appearing in Pokémon GO
Although the statues might not be in Pokémon GO, they can still be in the database
If they are not already and the duplicate rejections are false, use the supporting photo and text to your advantage to help the reviewers tell its a seperate statue
If the statues all together are a single sculpture on its own, the duplicate rejection can be correct
A photo of them can really help me tell more
- and 2. are already in and now i wanted to submit 3.
i think there was smth written like the stop is in the database but not in pogo, not sure at all (at this place were some things in the data base, but not as poke stop). but there wasnt anything written why the stop shouldnt be added tho... sadly i am rn not there and cant check it again to screenshot it
Pokemon go has S2 cells that limit how many wayspots become Pokestops in pokemon go
So the third one is likely to be in the database, but because of the cells it wont appear in GO
If you want to share the location i can check for you
oh thats really sad, that means i am not able to add anymore new spots to that place? but then i dont understand why some places have so many spots xD
on google maps?
Yes please
With rules comes rule breakers, before 2021 it was possible to abuse the cell rules to basically get limitless pokestops by simply moving existing ones into occupied cells
thats really sad :/
also may i ask where do you check all these cells? bc basically all my boosts got wasted and stuff got declined prolly bc of the cells thing. and thats really sad
Already in the database
I suggest watching a video by PokéDaxi on this. See pinned messages or search on YouTube
means this wont become a poke stop? 🥺
Also the cells doesnt make things ineligible or eligible, its just a limiter Niantic had put up for pokemon go
Unless the other pokestop in the cell is removed, it wont appear
ahh oki ty
Also the nomination process is a bit misleading, it says "pokestop nomination" when it should say "wayspot nomination". You are nominating to the lightship database by niantic, and all approved nominations appear there
When approved, each game syncs the wayspots into the game if they are eligible for it (each niantic game has different rules)
i am still kinda confused if i should try to nominate it now again or not xD
No, its already a wayspot
Hence the duplicate rejection
It is in the older niantic game called Ingress though
this whole nomination thing is kinda trash 😭
but still thank you so much for ur help 🫂
can i bother u with another question? xd
Go ahead
okay so have two stops which got approved...
for the top one i got an email that it got approved, but for the bottom one not... now its over 48h ago that they got approved (for the bottom one even several days). but somehow they're still not appearing in the game. do you know why?
Ill be back in a few minutes
do u need the location again?
Yes, if you could give me the exact location
second one is kinda hard to figure out coz of the trees, but its there i promise 😂 (its a cemetery chapel)
The first one is both in an occupied cell and within 20m of another, so it doesnt appear ina any current niantic game, and the second one is just in an occupied cell, and appears in Ingress
This is so ridiculous 😂
Thats Just how it is sometimes
If you watch the tutorial by PokéDaxi, you can get the map of the cells and you can scout for points of interests to submit in open cells
But its never wrong to submit something that doesnt appear in the game youd like it to
okay gotcha :D
Thank you so so much for helping me and spending that much time on it. I really appreciate your help and I hope you have a fantastic day/night wherever you are and may you get some shinies ✨
No problem, have fun exploring!
Do u guys think a lake could be a poke stop. I have a small man made one in my community. and it’s easily accessible as it is within the community park.
It would be really hard. Generally speaking, natural features like ponds don't really pass without signage identifying it or some sort of physical manmade object. A pier or a fishing sign might serve better focal point than the body of water itself.
Does it have a plaque?
Sponsored stops and gyms are locations where a Company has paid/collaborated with Niantic to put something there
Wdym by a plaque
If it has a spring or a plaque (a plate as a memorial to it) then yes
A placard, sign, something naming or otherwise denoting the area.
If you mean aerator fountain in the middle of the pond, those are ineligible.
hm
just confirming that 2 poke stops in one big cell makes one of the poke stops a gym rigjt?
2 POI in a level 14 cell typically means 1 Stop & 1 Gym.
Fantastic that the bots don't pic that sort of thing up.
1* inappropriate location
Have a look at pinned messages for more details
Wrong channel
Hi Does anyone got a account in niantic campfire
Wrong channel
I wanna add a gym near at a place that I think deserves it
But I'm only lvl 26
It's a church that already has 3 pokestops and I'm surprised at the lack of a gym
u can't add gyms
earlier on there was some manipulation regarding gyms
it's harder now
so there's places where you have squadrons of gyms next to each other
Alrighr
if the stops are popular you can go around the neighbourhood and add stops
How does it work?
when you have enough stops in a cell there will be more gyms
It's a large church with about 3 buildings
Each building has a pokestop rn
And theres a school right next to it without a stop
Ah
Any school from kindergarten to high school 12th grade cant have anything
yes it does, but only thumbs in pogo not ingress and you have to do them well in advance
<@&770285540503191613> can you ban this guy now? he was muted for spamming already and now he's at it again
Dealt with already don’t worry
Thanks, can you please delete the two videos above as well?
Three

This got accepted yesterday, will it get put into Pokémon go or not?
Cuz it says it can take up to 48 hrs for it to show in game and it’s only been around 22
Depending on your time zone and how long ago "yesterday" was, it should have synced by now if it was going to.
If you share the location of it, somebody can look it up and give you a better guess, but don't share if you aren't comfortable with that.
It won't show up in PoGO.
Depends if there’s already a poke stop in the cell or not.
How do I do the wayfarer test
Usually how long does it take a pkmn stop nomination take to get approved or denied and do they notify you
What do I do in the wayfarer test cause I click the spot I need to go but it doesn’t do anything else after that
you'll get an email when it reaches a decision but there's no way to estimate the time, it can vary by a large amount depending on where you are
what kind of device and browser?
If I request a poke stop, it gets accepted and there’s no other poke stops around, will it get put into the game?
cuz it’s not like interfering with another pokestops
iPhone and safari
There's a proximity check that PoGO uses that looks kind of like a grid. "No other PokéStops around" isn't super intuitive - sometimes they don't appear immediately next to each other but could still be in the same "cell."
It may get put into the game - it may not. It isn't too difficult to check the area before submitting to make sure - or just go for it, the Wayspot may get used in other Niantic games.
The stop also needs to fulfil wayfarer criteria
and submission quality
Could I get some help putting up pokestops?
My city is building pretty much an entire new area filled with stores, resturants, and more
But it doesnt have any pokestops
Theres a new In-n-out*, Panda Express, Ross dress for less, Costco, a place called crumbl, an at&t store, a huge organic grocery store, and like 3 gast stations
And none of them except the gas station that's been there for years has a pokestop/gym
chain stores like that often are not eligible. you should start by reading the criteria for what makes a good pokestop.
also, it's unlikely anyone here would be able to help directly. you can only submit nominations within 10km of your current location so you'll need to reach level 37 and submit them yourself
niantic.helpshift.com /hc/en/21-wayfarer /section/166-wayspot-criteria/
Alright
the bot deleted my message with the proper link but just remove the spaces
I read it and it says plazas would work, so maybe?
Sometimes. A business or shopping plaza should be more interesting than just a generic chain of businesses that you go to for basic needs.
#friend-codes there's a whole channel for you there.
Sorry
A "plaza" with a gas station, oil change, cell phone repair (for example) doesn't meet the same exploration criteria as a plaza with a coffee shop, local clothing boutique, or bookstore. Just examples. Yours could fall in there somewhere but just being called a plaza isn't really enough.
would a semi private place meet the requirements of a poke stop?
there are parks, fountains, apartments.. etc
yes, the only real restriction on private areas is that within the boundaries of a single family home lot
certain things at apartments which meet eligibility criteria can yes
there's a lot of misunderstanding about this though, so sometimes you may still receive rejections
finna build those "certain" things in my apartment
apartments with murals are very good pokestops
"My kitchen."
"It's not very big but it's mine."
the building
would community signs be eligible as a poke stop?
Like a “Welcome to Oakwood” sign
Yes
Nope
Most are mass produced, so only if the sign is actually unique/artsy then it can be eligible
Also do note that what you see in game isnt always eligible
There are alot of ineligible objects still in game
Most community signs like for a neighborhood or subdivision aren't great unless they're visually unique, artistic, or interesting in some way. Town or city signs tend to get treated as more eligible, though.
Very rarely does an apartment building meet criteria
someone pls help me w the niantic wayfarer test
Check the criteria page on wayfarer and learn from it
what does upgrade next mean?
When you earn an upgrade it will automatically put it on the one you marked for upgrade next.
also, do only people who live near the area I live in, can review my nominations?
or can everyone review them
Maybe
So i heard they changed what decides which stop becomes a gym, before you could like it in ingress but now it seems to be different. Do you know more about it?
Now its decided by the amount of likes+ photos on a stop, if the most liked ones have the same amount, its random
Best to like 3 days in advance
sure
do you have to be a certain lvl to be able to like it?
friend of mine couldn't do it
37 and above
maybe 38 then
yeah maybe
thx
can i increase it by just adding more pictures?
and like them by myself?
yeah
Thanks a lot 🙂
got a 60% rate in wayfarer now, not as good as your 75% but it's getting better
Ive actually reviewed so much recently ive dropped down to 68% because the agreements havent caught up
Damn, i am sure they will catch up
how long will it take for a pokestop nomination to get reviewed?
Different in every area, usually slower in areas with more Players. 2 days minimum 3 years max. Good time is 6 months or less
What is wayfarer? (im dum...)
Wayfarer is the site where you can manage wayspot nominations. You can view/edit your own submissions and review other peoples location/title/description/photo edits and nominations
Wayspots can become objects in Niantic games such as Pokestops and Gyms in Pokemon GO, portals in Ingress, Flower buds and mushrooms in Pikmin BLOOM and etc..
^
Would these be good pokestops?
What about a bench with a memorial on it?
Rarely. Generally speaking, a memorial bench would need to be recognizing somebody with local cultural significance. Most benches are generic and simply "donor recognition" benches.
What about a mayor that’s dead
If you can explain why the mayor was important to the community it might be accepted.
Oh alright
nah my area has at least 40 memorial benches with just random people on them that have been accepted has stops
Tbh that doesn't matter.
a few are gyms as well
Niantic used to review back in the beginning and accepted a lot of things that aren't eligible now. Now that the community is reviewing, they're usually stricter. Even if the benches in your area were accepted recently that doesn't mean they go through for Pax above.
I'd submit them, no reason not to.
I'd accept a memorial bench tho
Some folks might. Best to use as much information as they can to support the nomination, though.
Yup. Supplementary info is the key there.
The person asked if they'd be good PokéStops Wayspots, and they wouldn't. Submitting things that others advise not to and generally don't meet criteria just tends to slow the process down for everyone and (if you do have a local community) alienates them the most by increasing their turnaround time with "coal."
Neighborhood signs like that just aren't eligible under Wayfarer criteria. It might suck for the locals but there might also be a lot of other great candidates around they could focus on, instead.
The top one, at the very least, either lacks safe pedestrian access and/or may require trespassing on private residential property.
Huh, thought they were fine but yah quick google shows nope. Need cultural or artistic significance
Have never seen one submitted so hadn't checked.
Me either 😆
Would you guys pass this tree sculpture?
i'd have to be convinced it isn't temporary
Nah he's been at our park for like years now. We fight over if his name is The Guardian Tree or Ted. Lol.
I'd love to make him a Pokestop if we can. Everyone would find that hilarious.
Is it on public ground? And does it show up on google maps?
It's at our local park. I could probably whip up a photosphere of it easily enough. From above it would just be the tree, so impossible to see the face of it.
Alright, then I would say 50/50 chance. A good description will be needed then if it can't be seen on google maps, is my experience.
Ugh. I wish people were nicer with reviewing. Most things I try to submit get denied.
Someone denied a park path sign and I had to put it through for a second evaluation by Niantic itself before it was approved.
care to share the other things you've had rejected? we might be able to give you some tips
Oh. Also
There's a park sign to another entrance that I think qualifies.
Someone graffitied a picture of a bad thing on it.
Does that make it impossible to pass?
Not "impossible" but it depends on how bad it is.
yeah that's actually a somewhat contentious issue
the criteria page mentions this:
but does that mean a photo which was vandalized? what does that mean?
others think it means that vandalism or graffiti of/on the object you're nominating is a reason to reject
and if the graffiti is explicit then it's likely going to get rejected regardless
niantic has offered several confusing and unclear clarifications in the past about park signs in cases where the park has more than one entrance. and if it's just a list of park rules it's common for them to be rejected either way so this is not surprising to me
I’m in a relatively new community with a few parks and such. However in google maps all you see is empty space. Even the roads still aren’t in Pokémon go due to the community being new
if I requested a valid poke stop (good description, clear photo, etc.), would it automatically get rejected because it isn’t in google maps?
Certainly not automatically rejected, but it's true reviewers will be more skeptical. A few things you can do to help increase the chance of acceptances:
Create a photosphere. These will automatically load for reviewers and help by showing a 360 view of the park and its surroundings
Provide weblinks. If you can find a news article or Parks & Rec website that includes information on the park include those in the Supporting text! I've linked maps for park developments to "prove" the location.
Add the park to Google Maps. . If the park is not listed on Google, make sure you create the location. Treat it as additional supporting information for your nomination - include more photos (not ones you'll use for you submission) and a Parks & Rec website, if available.
@errant horizon - I've used all 3 suggestions above and gotten several parks approved that did not show up on Google at all.
When I nominated this playground, Satellite view showed an empty green space between houses. This was accepted without problem.
Tysm for all the tips. I’m not exactly sure how to create a photosphere though
I’ve also heard about a few incidents where pokestops get accepted but never appear in game.
what you're submitting is wayspots. if they are accepted, then based on the inclusion rules for each of niantic's games they might be added or they might not
well the bot here eats links but Google search "Pokemon go S2 cells" and look for the article from Pokemon go hub
yes
It's not "incident" so much as "by design" with how Pokémon GO accepts POI. If the area really has nothing, there's nothing to block it, but a small (or even large) park might fill up quickly and start "blocking" itself.
But anything accepted can be used in other Niantic games.
I've only ever done them a few times for indoor nominations - everything outdoors I've been able to adequately support my location with supporting photos or links. But there are several tutorials on how to create one. It does take the "Google Street View" app, though, and dedication to stand in one place for a minute spinning around and taking pictures.
around 10:50am pacific
Alright thanks
It says that one of my pokestop nominations is in the voting phase now
how long will it take?
same answer as last time you asked

Also if you get an upgrade and use it on the nomination it can go by faster. For me it usually takes a couple of hours for it to get accepted or rejected when I use an upgrade on it.
im new to this, so I don’t know how to get an upgrade
for every nomination you review, if your review matches with the outcome you earn 1 agreement
100 agreements earns 1 upgrade
The alternative is waiting up to and over a year for your nomination to be approved (or denied). So you have to decide if the work is worth it to you or not.
Are you sure? I've upgraded 12 stops, 198 agreements and am 72% to next upgrade (got 10 from the russia project)
so from that one data point looks like about 70 agreements?
could be some weirdness in how they calculate duplicates
but I agree with @timid terrace that it's way too much, such a shame they've put so little effort into wayfarer
yes i'm positive
i think the confusion is that agreements earned reviewing edits and photos don't show up anywhere
so your upgrade progress will always be ahead of the accepted + rejected + duplicate count
such a ridiculous system
don't think I'll be doing reviews again
I'll still nominate on occasion and complain about them taking forever, of course 😉
I do appreciate the people who bother to do reviews, such a thankless task even though it earns niantic money
To each there's. I actually enjoy reviewing and the nomination process in general.
I'm not even exaggerating that my personal involvement has increased my awareness of city & regional history and even national & international history.
this voting thing is so stupid
niantic should just hire people to review them
or just set up a specific bot for it
They tried that... it didn't work out
i feel bad for the people who actually waste time voting lol
What do you do to burn time?
To me Wayfarer is a great way to just burn time if you are bored, i love to see new things in my country, its like exploring, but from home
You dont have to be rude just because YOU didnt like it
didn't talk about burning time
no im just asking
also how was i being rude
this message?
I was only being rude to niantic's laziness
i actually feel bad
since they work for niantic without gaining anything
but burning time is different from this
We gain more wayspots from reviewing, if nobody did then noone would get new pokestops.
Nah, niantic would be forced to review themselves.
They're a 5-billion dollar company, they can pay peanuts to 10 indian guys to just review all day.
roli said that didnt work..
someone should not be forced to either work for niantic like a slave or wait for a few years just to place ONE pokestop
I don't understand this sentence.
Ah yes clicking on screen for money is such a horrible thing. 😂
sorry, i meant roli said that
I still don't understand what you are trying to say, write it out, please.
Who said it is forced?
Niantic used to review wayspots pre-wayfarer, it didnt work that well
how else am I supposed to gain an upgrade?
Who said you have to get an upgrade?
there's no other way to place a pokestop in my country
Because nobody is reviewing maybe
That wont work
Now that there are 10x more wayspots submitted?
yup
Depends on how they do it. If you can't fricking pay people to do it why not just give out some fricking incubators or passes to reviewers? The lack of appreciation to wayfarers is just asinine.
how else are people supposed to enjoy the game
there's no point in defending them, since we both know that this reviewing thing is stupid in most cases
But it's still a ridiculous system
I dont really care
That's fine
Yes. They're now running maps from around march 2021 I believe, which is an improvement to 2019
Not wayfarer related, but what pokehero said it correct. Only reported in Australia though
I'm not sure if you understand what "like a slave" is. You want something? You have to put effort into it - that's just literally how the world works and the exact opposite of slave labor. If you don't like it, don't get involved, but if you have something constructive to share find the means to do so but just complaining isn't helping anyone.
Kinda agree on the slave thing, it's hyperbolic nonsense. I disagree with niantic quite a lot about amounts and details, and most certainly don't appreciate the way they treat wayfarers, but if you take/accept the view that niantic just made a system that lets players help players that's fine.
I do think since they've (apparently) said they can't do it, that means they need players for it and they should IMO be more appreciative for them.
So many stories of people getting really into wayfarer but then getting disillusioned/disheartened and just dropping it.
That's definitely true and there's a LOT more Niantic could should be doing. I don't understand why they poorly manage Wayfarer and treat it as an underfunded start up (literally how they've described it), but it's also far from their power to ever give any other real incentives - especially into PoGO. It's never been explicit but it's highly implied at this point that there's subtle conflict of interest in there. TPC is where the rewards would ultimately be coming from and they won't want to reward Trainers for providing POI for Niantic's IP.
But they have done it, like the indian/russian campaigns. I don't understand how pokecoins or items or avatar poses or special research would have anything to do with TPC.
would it be nice if review times were quicker? yes
are there things niantic could change to make that happen? yes
will more folks completing more reviews also make it quicker? also yes
anything at all having to do with pogo has to be cleared with tpc, and giving pogo items for wayfarer actions is a decision ultimately made by the pogo team not the wayfarer team
They also botched those events to some extent. The India challenge offered special spawns that they even couldn't fulfill to non-India participants.v
Now that sounds like niantic 😂
They have hinted at, several times, trying to explore more options for rewards, like poses.
Ah yes. So it's basically office politics. That explains why it's such nonsense.
we're not forced
thanks for wriing something constructive and not talking out of your ass... yes things should definitely be better
YESSS
finallllyyy
they updated the roads in my area
There’s so many new roads
I hope not because there is a gym that is interactable from my house. Problem? They removed it a long time ago
The map update happened and has nothing to do with Gyms.
don't got the energy to start this argument al over again
just leave it
Pls help, i keep getting rejected because "yeah", i did appeal but dont get an answer
Appeals typically take months to hear back - I think they're still working on April's appeals or something?
Do you want to share examples of your nominations to see if there's anything we can help with, @blazing condor?
Appeals are like 6-9 months. You'll get notice when it's done.
When can we get zoruas again?
In the pokemon related channels
Yeah my appeal from Feb just got approved this month
awesome
congrats
Yeah niantic has taken appeals as late as april 1st now
they recently reviewed one of mines from last year
I need a slowpoke(flegmon) pls
This is for wayfarer only
proof u shouldn't use upgrades ever lol
Appeal?
one data point != proof
but two identical data points getting a different outcome is weird?
they aren't identical though
every Nomination receives a different subset of reviewers
your photos are different, your text may be too
lots of factors
plenty of things have taken two or three tries for me with or without upgrade
I hate that. Happens to me all the time.
People are jerks on upgraded content.
my guess would be that it gets more voters from the casuals who barely review
how do you scan a stop
Hello! Is there anybody that good at wayfarer and got stops accepted? I have a fast question
Yeah?
why the friend request?
I have a question so my pokestop got aprooved but he still not on the map im waiting for like 2 weeks now what can i do
?
Ok
this likely means it is in the same L17 S2 map cell as another pokestop sorry
oh
thats bad
So how is it possible that is some places on earth there are like 15 pokestops to eachother
sometimes it's favorable cell boundaries, but a lot of the places you're thinking of are where players took advantage of how the system used to handle location edits to create those clusters. it's not possible any more
Cells are smaller the closer to the equator you go. Also sponsored stops and what @wanton grove said.
What would be a good description and additional information for this trail sign
that's a pipeline marker not a trail sign sorry
😬
"This is the trail of water as guided by our forefathers and those blokes with big shovels."
😂
Can anyone notice the lewd graffiti here? I tried my best to wipe it clean. Thus shouldn't struggle to pass, right?
Looks good
looks very nice
Hola

Is this in Rotterdam Netherlands or Rotterdam NY (looks like Rotterdam NY)
Is this channel about making new pokestops
yes it is
How do i make one on my house im lvl 37
wayspots/pokestops are not allowed at private residences, so depending on your living situation that may be impossible
and regardless of location, you must find something that meets niantic's criteria
Hold on
Bird feedet
Feeder*
Will that work?
probably not, sorry
wayspots need to be a great place to exercise, explore, or be social
i don't see how a small bird feeder is any of those
Idk ive seen places that have a pokestop where its just graffiti
Doesnt mean they are eligible/eligible now. Alot of things that are in game might not meet criteria
And grafitti doesnt really meet removal criteria unless the grafitti itself is removed
Public official grafitti walls and official murals are eligible
And also a tip for new submitters: Dont submit something you are unsure about what criteria it fits
Just got a mural declined ugh
What kind?
Hoops
How long will the wayspot that I recomended get out of the voting thing like how much hours till it gets accepted or declined
could be later today, could be several months from now. every area is different, and it's not even the same for every Nomination in the same area
your best bet is to ask someone in your local area who's nominated things
or wait and see
Or use upgrade
Schools are not allowed as pokestops?
correct
And anything on school grounds
No nothing with schools or on school property
yes
Oh, I haven't complained about this before, but WTF niantic? u release TWO different apps at the same time? the wayfarer app AND campfire? do u really have ZERO coordination? ugh
and NEITHER of those apps shows cells!?
There are different teams for both apps.
they're never going to show cells in any app
Yeah and that's dumb af.
is it dumb that pogo and ingress have different teams?
they're completely different apps with entirely different purposes
Teams of workers.
Oh please that's different, wayfarer and campfire literally both exist to support pogo, them being separate is incompetent management at best.
that's not at all what the wayfarer app is
campfire is meant to be the cross-game social platform and the gym map is just one thing it does along with that
the wayfarer app its current state is primarily focused on helping third party developers making new apps on the Lightship AR platform
in fact, it was already combined with the wayfarer team's goal of having a mobile app to replace/augment the existing website
there aren't enough resources to make a lightship dev app and a wayfarer app so they combined those two
the features the wayfarer app had at launch focused on AR scanning, and seeing information about AR scans
this enables those devs to test out their features on real Wayspots with enough scans to have an accurate 3d mesh of the object in its surroundings
more recently they enabled new Wayspot nomination and editing of existing Wayspots which may someday replace the Nomination/edit process within games
Okay fair enough that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
I want to use wayfarer+, but it doesn't work Do you know how to use it?
Have a look at the pinned messages
It’s explained there how to enter it plus information about it.
wayfarer+ broke long ago and has been replaced by individual addons that provide most of the same functions
you can find them all on this website:
wayfarer.tools
sorry I'm not allowed by the bot to post an actual link here

Yo I got shiny laios
Are you going to make it into a pokestop?
wrong channel
i dk but not this one
Wrong pickture
You can use #brag-it to show cool catches, and #go-chat or #trainer-lounge if you just wanna chat
this channel is for discussing anything regarding Wayfarer
@halcyon veldt That link is not allowed.
I have a Pokémon go account linked to a gmail, pokemon.com verifies it, but when I try to login to wayfarer it does not work, says that the gmail is not linked to an existing account. I am also level 39
Crazy
It needs tobbe your current way you login in game, not just be linked
Wait so if you both have trainerclub and google link, but mostly use trainer club to log in, you can’t use google for wayfarer?
I figured it out 👍 sorry about that
What was it?
I actually hadn’t linked google 😂 could’ve swore I did
My apologies
Z
Wailords back
wailfarer?
Is anyone in Europe
Probably
No,they all die
#friend-codes please
What is wayfarer
Niantics system for submitting and reviewing waypoints that they may use in their games
*submitting and reviewing
tqvm really appreciate it!
All good
which plugin are you looking for?
Yes(for now), also wrong channel
Better fricking not be since they advertised it. But niantic gonna niantic
dont worry i found it
Does anyone need help with reviewing nominations in your area. My bonus location is almost up.
is this a PokeStop?
Atlanta and Chicago both have 1-2+ year backlogs if you're interested in reviewing in the US
And Los Angeles
Can anyone help me nominate some local points? Thanks in advance
No we can't
A note on eligibility: if a Wayspot nomination meets one of the below criteria, that’s great! But remember that eligibility alone isn’t sufficient
We can help you find things to submit though, but reading the criteria section on Wayfarer is a great way to start.
It doesnt include everything thats eligible. But if you are unsure if its eligible, dont submit it. You can always ask here
Will accepted pokestops get nominated in other niantic games since the email that is being sent when a pokestop gets accepted says that…
Ive got 8 accepted nominations and only 1 of them is being shown in pogo
only one wayspot will become a PokeStop per each level 17 cell on the S2 grid map
despite what the text says, you're nominating wayspots and it's an entirely other process that determines if the approved wayspot also becomes a PokeStop
I think level 14 and 17 is for stops? But I often get confused about those.
14 is for gyms
The emojis 🤨
s2.sidewalklabs.com/regioncoverer/ shows the cells over the world and you can choose the sizes
L14 and L17 is the ones you are probably looking for
Thanks
Pogomap . Info
That map isnt 100% accurate
So the sidewalklabs is more accurate?
the bigger issue with pogomaps is the reliability of PokeStop data. the S2 cells should render just fine
the ideal is to setup iitc
Yeah seems about the same in both at least for my usecase
I just use this more better then anything else
Yeah IITC is the best way to see the cells with pogo Tools plugin
Tier 3 raids
??
I just downloaded another niantic game and showed me another accepted nomination of mine. And I also found the same nominations from pogo in that game. Does that mean that my nominations will get shown in pogo in the future?
I know its complicating
No, i just saw it just as it got deleted
Well basically, all approved nominations go into one database called Lightship
After the "wayspots" appear there, once a day most will sync into either Pokemon go or Ingress if there is nothing stopping them from doing so.
Pokemon GO has a grid system called the S2 cells to limit the amount of pokestops in a smaller area, which often stops close proximity wayspots from appearing as pokestops
Ingress has a 20 meter radius rule
I assume the other Niantic game you downloaded was Ingress?
Cuz I wrote a typo
You can edit by pressing the ✏️ , hold your message on mobile, or hover your mouse above the message on desktop
But theres a place where I grind in com days since there are 25 stops in a very small area
Yeah, the grid system was heavily abused before 2021
So Im late…
You could move stops into occupied cells, and the stops wouldnt disappear.
It was fun while it lasted for most people, i kinda dont like the clusters...
You couldnt press on pokemon below without a GO plus
But in ingress I saw 2 more stops in my area and one was mine
So the grid system doesn’t work on ingress
No, just 20 meter rule
Ok thanks
How long does it take for my application to be reviewed?
A week to three years ish
Depends on the backlog of your country
Hopefully it’s not 3 years
Is it possible for a stop to show up in pogo when it has been placed on a same s14 cell of a gym but far apart?
do you mean L17 cell? 14 is big and can have up to 3 gyms and many stops
L17 mb
The stop was accepted today but it was in a cell of a gym but far apart, im kinda worried lol
if u move the stop it will appear
it has to be in a different S17 cell to appear, that's the rules
Is there any way to move it like a slither just to get it out of that cell?
you can try asking niantic, if that's a big object like a basketball court for minimum several locations for it could make sense
it's definetely not an easy task to get something moved without an ingress account
Damn, it was a mural but not a wide one. Ty tho!
Approved today? Daily sync happens in about 1-3 hours
Can someone explain to me what this level 37 pokestop thing is
There’s a lot of helpful information in the pinned messages in here, but short story is, that you can nominate new Pokestops which then get reviewed in Niantic wayfarer and if accepted, they might appear in Pokémon GO
Handled thank you
Are appeals off? Can't make any.
Once every 30 days
ohh
that makes sense thanks
if only niantic had some way of communicating these things 🤷
How long does queue take to make a pokestop?
The simple answer is yes. Moving a stop would bit more complicated though. You need a high level ingress account to be eligible to submit edits, so just making an ingress account won't help you.
Will it show up if successful?
I can move portals because I've been playing ingress before Pogo came out.. But i only move it if it's necessary to be placed at a more accurate location. Moving portals will drop links and fields, potentially undoing the efforts of large operations. But in doing so i have to be mindful if it is part of a field.
You can make suggestions in pogo to move a stop tho, it'll go through wayfarer
Places where you can move:
Pokémon GO: Only with wayspots that appear in pokemon go as gym or pokestops
Ingress: All portals
Wayfarer Help Chat: All wayspots
But as ngati said, only move if it makes the location better or more accurate. Moving inaccurately to get a wayspot into an open cell is considered abuse and can lead to suspension
Voting and queue times are area dependant. You should ask someone near you that does wayfarer about how long it takes for them
You can bypass the wait by getting upgrades.
For now the only correct answer is between 2 days and 3 years.
Less than 6 months is considered fast
Happy birthdaaaaaay!! @old widget
Okay so I got an accepted pokestop that was supposed to go next to the pokestop next to that gym. It’s pretty close tho. Is that why it doesn’t appear in game? It’s been more than two days
If it's been 2 days and it's "pretty close" it's most likely too close and "blocked" from PoGO due to the proximity inclusion rules the game uses.
Most likely because youve threw it in a cell already occupied by the stop.
Yeah two in one L17… learn something new every day lol
I saw the detailed explanation you got elsewhere 😄 glad you got the answers you wanted!
What app or site is that?
I couldn’t manage to find it
IITC Mobile
Ty
If you need the pogo tools let me know
Yeah, how do I get them?
Are you on android or iPhone
iPhone
When I click the link I see this
But open ittc and tap where i have drawn the arrow and tap layer and then select highlight pogo tools
It shows a bunch of code when I click it
My stop got put into the game:))
Yeah, i don't know much about iPhone but i can send you a link to Wayfarer Discussion discord. I also think @median oriole @wanton grove are on it. I think someone on there might be able to help you with iPhone because I'm more Android
yeah i'm not very familiar with the process on ios unfortunately but there are definitely some folks in that other discord who are
one thing to check, do you actually have the IITC app installed?
i know on android, when the app is installed the script link should take you to the app rather than open it as text in a browser
Any ideas of how many days does an appeal take before you receive a reply?
7 months now, might change both ways
Well, rip to that Church.
I don't think the church is going anywhere tho
Guys can u help me and make me a stop or gym
We can't
Are you lvl 37 in pogo or 10 in ingress?
They're asking us to help them in which we can't
I figured... but just in case
last three days one of gym in our area disappear then one pokestop became a poke gym
can someone explain to me why it happen?
The other took its spot
someone reported the gym for removal
Not necessarily not when another stop took its spot.
if another gym was created then it likely was a report. if there was no replacement then it could be other reasons, like the gym was moved and the cell had too many gyms. but in that instance it usually remains as a pokestop
Yeah,we had a gym that was reported due to traffic of players and trainers not respecting the establishment. So they reported the gym to Niantic and it was removed no stop to take its place. A bit further up a stop was replaced with a gym.
I am 38
Another one of my stops got nominated:)
u mean accepted?
or gymified?
Approved as wayspot and a possible pokestop?
Yeah
Have you familiarized yourself with criteria and taken the test?
Are bus stops considered good nominations or should I not?
Okay thanks for the info
How do u create gyms?
By having a certain amount of stops near each other
There are information about this in the pinned messages
One of the pinned messages is misleading. Ingress does not determine what becomes a gym anymore, now pokemon go photos + likes count
would a residential care centre qualify? Kinda on the fence myself, since you dont want facilities with disabled people and the elderly flooded with teens playing pokemon go
the centre itself doesn't seem to meet any of the three criteria.
if there's something on the grounds that does meet one or more of the criteria then yes you'd need to determine whether it was an appropriate location or not
Ok thank you mod
Idek why but someone removed a gym from a Circle K, I thought it was a bug or something and kept resetting my game. Is it even possible to remove a sponsored pokestop or gym?
Circle K ended their deal with Niantic. Nothing to do with Wayfarer
Ah rip, I was wondering the same thing lol
Players/Wayfarer reviewers cannot remove a Sponsored Stop or Gym (or Wayspot in general). Those are handled internally by the Niantic PoGO team and usually done automatically and en masse.
Thank you. I will have a look at it
I can’t see some of the chat sections like Brag it and general
Did they remove it???
No it is still there
You probably clicked to hide it. Try click on #trainer-lounge again.
Can someone share with me the remote raid channel? I don't understand why I can't see them now.
You have to get verified in the nurse joy channel
So locally-owned non-chain restaurants/diners can be nominated, correct?
If you can prove its uniqueness and its a place to socialize yes
Sweet thanks
You need to verify
How?
What are all the diff shiny rates
can the channel permission stuff get fixed and explained? seems like no one can figure it out
Can't you send links?
oh I asked a few weeks ago if we could have perms to share links here since it's often helpful when answering wayfarer questions
December 2022 Wayfarer AMA responses
https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/188794/#Comment_188794
i was supposed to check and make sure i could and get back to him. looks like the answer is yes
I wish there was a way to check the reviews you made that werent accepted. That way you could learn from them
That is the reviewing stats
There is a page for nominations
Click on the three bars on the top
Should be between the review page and profile page
The stats you show above is from reviewing. You rejected 19 nominations and the majority did the same. Same thing with approved and duplicate
I know, but doesntrejected mean you approved it znd it didnt go through?
no, it means you rejected it and the consensus agreed it should be rejected
there's no way to see what you're talking about aka "disagreements"
all good, it's not super obvious
So doubles is the same? I marked them as double and others agreed?
yep
And approved yes
Cool, thx
There is also a hidden count for edit agreements
I thought I was messing up
I misunderstood your question first, thanks tehstone for clearing it up
Please rate my photo of this Basketball Court. idk why this got rejected for orientation; and body part, would be this normally have people playing?
"Orientation" is a pretty bad rejection for that photo. "Body part" is because you have people in the photo. I don't think they're clear enough in focus that it should have been rejected, but your reviewers didn't like it. The photo isn't great and I couldn't immediately tell it was a photo of a basketball court. I'd suggest taking a photo inside of the fence and without people in it.
Like, this court is similarly enclosed but it's more immediately recognizable and I went at a time I didn't think there would be anyone using the court.
perfect example
oh ok thanks guys! ill just hope for an appeal coz im too lazy to drive to the next city just to re-nominate it. lol
How far away is it? You can nominate from 10km away with GO. 25km with Ingress
does a new wayspot always spawn as pokestop or is there a chance that it spawns as an arena?
Well it's not by chance, there is a reason behind it. The world is split into S2 cells, try find a map which displays level 14 S2 cells. If one of these cells has 2 pokestops inside of if, one will become a gym, if it has 6 another will become a gym, and if it has 20 another will become a gym
These cells are different sizes in different places due to the curvature of the earth, but on average theyre 0.32km²
I'm fairly sure the intel map shows them, but downloading it takes more steps then I have time to put here
Ah ok 🙂 thank you very much so far
How easy is it to make a pokestop?
Quite easy when you know how to do it right
quite hard if you put 0 effort into it
2158 4302 8168
Easy
Ok
But... they need a new photo
Can’t get in a raid
How to get a pokestop or gym in my area
How do I nominate a pokestop ? Somone pls help I’ve taken a test on wayfarer and dunno next step to nominate pls help
I think I see now when I go back to my app it has a nomination info through settings
Is it hard to get a house 🏡 n a resident Al neighborhood pokestopped ???
Is it hard to make a house one ???
wayspots are not allowed at single family homes
and you have to nominate something that meets criteria
Do they ever get approved and wrk tho ?? A street in my neighborhood has one by a park it’s not even really by the park but more so in the middle of the steeet by ppls houses
All mine are far away and I want one close / how bad are my chances of making my house one ?
What if it’s a dog grooming place ? A neighbor has his house as his wrk place and figured I could take that photo
Proly best idia huh take photo of dog groomer neighbors sign and put it to the street ?
That doesnt sound eligible. Its just a generic business
On wayfarer site, go to the criteria page and read a bit
What do you guys thknk of houses with their building date displayed on them?
There's a house near me with it's date (1889) displayed on it. I wanna nominate it, bug doubt it'll get accepted due to it being a regular house
Its old, but old doesnt mean historic or eligible. If there i history behind that building, write it in the description and use the supporting info to show the sources, if there are any
If its a normal single family home, forget it
yea, thought so, was just hoping it'd maybe be eligible considering I have 0 stops I can reach from home
I don't have any Stops I can reach from home, but I've submitted over 500 eligible Wayspots.
That's a good start! Hopefully you'll get some added on your walking routes or to/from daily areas to be able to benefit from them.
Ones along my daily commute are my favorite to get accepted 😁
hi guys i am about to hit level 37 and i have almost no stops or gyms nearby so i want to submit ideas, although idk what are the rules or how to make the submissions accepted so can someone pls explain to me 🙂
you go to the settings tab in PoGo, then you scroll down to new pokestop. That will take you to the wayfarere site. There, you'll first have to read the rules and you'll be quizzed on them. It's ok to fail the first time, I think you can keep taking the exam till you get it right. After that you will be able to submit your own pokestops.
You'll need to provide the location, a pic of the pokestop, a pic of the surroundings, a title and a description, as well as an explanation of why this spot would be a good pokestop
A good thing to remember, a pokestop should either be: A) A good place to explore, B) A good place to socialize or C) a good place to exercise together
If you have any more questions about the whole process you can always ask em here
One minor clarification is that description is no longer optional while submitting.
There are a few examples listed on the https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/21-wayfarer/faq/2770-eligibility-criteria/?p=web&s=wayspot-acceptance-criteria website but plenty of other things can be nominated.
Thank you
It isn't? My bad, then
Was this a recent change?
It used to be optional to submit. For a while you could edit text out online. I'm not sure when exactly they changed it.
It's not required for reviewing, though, since not all nominations in the system may have had descriptions added.
Ah, I see, that must be why I was confused
So imma take a shot in the dark here and say that if I wanted to nominate a locally owned restaurant and used a picture of the sign on the outside of the restaurant as the wayspot photo, the sign can't contain stuff like phone numbers?
The sign can contain the phone number for the business (or other nearby businesses).
You may want to consider using a photograph of the restaurant building itself, depending on which one you can make more photogenic. Restaurant signs are usually raised up (difficult to take a picture of) and by the street (potentially unsafe pedestrian access) and will have more background "noise" than a building that will likely take up most of the frame.
Why doesnt the Wayfarer badge correspond with the site? Site says I have 280 agreements, but ingame I have 360
if you total up the number of agreements based on upgrades earned + current percentage it will be much closer to the game number
but the two are not perfectly in sync. and if your rating dips below Good then agreements earned won't count towards the game
Scientology having a pokestop just feels wrong...
Same thing with Jehovas witnesses
Maybe, I don't know that much about them, but I know that scientology is extremely shady
Tbf if Christianity weren't already a huge religion they would be granted the same label
its a place of worship none the less
So, I have a question.
I upgraded my nomination yesterday and it still hasn't entered the voting phase. Other upgrades went through much faster, so I was wondering if there's a reason for the delay.
Could it have to do with it being close to other wayspots?
The red dots on the map here ard both Poi's (on the left is gym, right is pokestop).
did you just nominate it? this is common, there's a 2-4 day wait period for new nominations before they go into voting even if upgraded
Oh, was unaware, thanks for telling me!
Can anyone make a pokestop in front of my house? Can send my address
Thanks
It's kinda dead around me
Someone should make a pokestop
no sorry
no one can, that requires spoofing and pokestops aren't allowed at houses.
you can't nominate further than 10km from your current location
Thats not how this works kaelan
that would definitly be considered abuse, and I dont think anyone here wants to risk their nomination-privilege because you wanted a more convenient pokestop
negative
if i build a statue in front of my house and put a plaque on it do you reckon i could nominate it
Not if it is on private single family residential property.
If it's on an apartment complex or shared housing grounds it could be but you'd need to check with the complex management.
Short answer: You will most likely never get a pokestop at your house, not legitimately
And if you somehow get one illegitimately approved on your property, people can report it and your account can be affected (banned/suspended)
Dont risk it
Spraying a grafitti-artwork at the side of your house would be the best way to get your own pokestop, but I dont think your parents would like that, lol
No...??
Grafitti isnt eligible either
I dont know where you are from, but that is really bad advice
Please follow the criteria when helping people here
I was just joking, lol
Okay
Did you seriously think I'd recommend someone dpraypaints their house?😆
All look good, aside from maybe #3 and the last one
Not sure what those are supposed to be
Gyms are more or less made the same as new PokéStops, they all come from the same place. The number in a specific area determines number of Gyms vs number of Stops.
There's lot more to it.
https://pokemongohub.net/post/article/comprehensive-guide-s2-cells-pokemon-go/
This is one of the better articles on the subject.
Bad title and description, supporting image is the same as wayspot image, and there's absolutely no playground in sight.. My question is: what criteria do I deny this on?
Was the photo real low quality? Same photos in main and supporting almost never means legit
Yep, watermark. Stolen photo
Rip, now I regret not marking it as abuse
You have a screenshot with the title & location. You can use it to report it through the help chat. Click on ?Help on the left and then tap the orange 💬 icon on the bottom right. It'll ask for some prompts that you should be able to walk through and report it.
Just got a wayspot accepted that's accesible from my home!
Is it true that any wayspot that's been accepted before 7 am will be implemented at 9 pm? I read that in a thread from 3yrs ago and wanted to know if it was still accurate
it depends on timezones of course, but that sounds a bit off.
currently in the Pacific timezone (US west coast) the daily cutoff time seems to be around 9-9:02AM and then the sync time is anywhere from 10:45AM-11:15PM (though sometimes even later than that)
so generally speaking the two are only 2 hours apart
if your local 7AM is earlier than the PST 9AM then yes it should sync that same day
Oh, mustve misread it as 7 am instead of pm, my bad
Sync was a few hours ago, so if it was just approved it wouldn't but should sync tomorrow in 22ish hours, if I'm accounting for DST right.
Was approved 3-ish hours ago, was just wondering when it'd be in pogo
Then should be 22 hours from now. Congrats 🎉
Thx!
Looking for someone to swap bonus locations with, I live near Mechelen in Belgium and speak English, Dutch and some French and German
You could ask in the Wayfarer discussion discord, there are more active people there
oh you already did
I may Ask here 2, can i make this pokestop into a gym and if so, How do i make it into a gym?
To make a gym there has to be a certain number of stops/gym in a certain area. If you dont mind i can show you the "certain area"
If you are comfortable with telling me where that stop is, i can post a screenshot of the cell. and tell you how many stops left you need for a gym
I dont know where that is
I wont be able to know a location by just seeing the pogo overworld
Can i dm u?
yes
Got this one approved Today!!
And one of these 3 with the same name (Yes I am very good at coming up with names) got accepted yesterday.
it was one that doesn't have the word Weelde capitalized
Congrats!
thanks!
Nice!
You’ve been busy lol
waypoints are to have unique names
Thanks for making me aware, I’ll submit a name change for a few
. And keep it in mind for future nominations.
This one I nominated over 2 years finally got accepted by Niantic Review.
I need to get by the bridge with my cookie boat. Finna pull a eleon musk on a bridge
I forget the exact "age," but nominations are getting pulled into Niantic review or getting "free" upgrades that are about the age of your nomination. They're trying to clear out everything from 2020 going into this summer.
I have 2 from November 2020 that should get pulled, soon.
2 years 3-4 months gets either "pulled" for Niantic review or prioritized like an invisible upgrade
Ah, there it is. My November 5, 2020 nomination just got approved.
Nicee

That’s good to hear! Do nominations of basketball courts now also get priority because of the upcoming launch of NBA all world?
Allegedly they're working the backend for that, but we've yet to see it working how they've explained it.
If you're planning on nominating basketball courts I wouldn't wait, though.
Ah okay
I think most of them are wayspots around here. Also, can’t wait to try out NBA All world
Not sure how NBA will pull Wayspots, but if they're basketball courts you frequently visit I'd suggest categorizing them as "basketball court" in PoGO through the PokéStop contribution screen. You have to be in interaction range and it is only available in GO at this time.
Ah thanks, Will do that next time I come across one.
Got these two trail markers accepted yesterday
also, almost had a new stop nearby 😓
How long would it take for one to be approved
Like the last one took 6 days and I just submitted my mail boxes and I’m reading it can take up to 2 years
depends on your area. but I'm sorry to say that mailboxes typically don't meet criteria
Mine will HES built dif
k
Sorry I never saw this until now lol
It's a big poster-board kinda sign put up on the front entrance on ground level
It was declined and I'm not entirely sure why
That's why I figured the sign couldn't have the phone number
Pokestop photo + surrounding area. The blacked out bit is the phone number
Take a picture of thd building, but include the left half of the sign
The part without the phone number
phone numbers in photo are allowed
I assume you didn't submit that photo, right? But yes, phone numbers are fine, it's publicly available.
Restaurants and businesses in general are known for being very difficult nominations. Many reviewers insist it must be highly rated, unique, or standout in some way.
Whatever you can do in the description and supporting text to make it at and out as to why the business encourages socializing or exploring will help improve your chances of approval.
That edited photo would be ineligible.
Yeah I submitted the unedited versions for the nominations I just blacked out the phone number for this chat lol
There's a locally owned stone-baked pizza place a couple communities down that was accepted and after submitting the nomination I realized that the descriptions and supporting texts were really similar
Question. Which supermarkets can be eligible and which can not?
Chain stores are a definite no, but local markets and possibly markets from other cultures (think: asian stores etc) can be eligible
(Correct me if I'm wrong)
I got a Korean supermarket rejected by Niantic.
Two of the supermarkets of a popular corp got accepted and one supermarket from the same corp got rejected 5 times.
A supermarket also from a popular corp also got accepted.
I just don't get it lol.
Gotta remember that reviewers are just regular people: they can be biased and not all of them fully know the criteria
If you resubmit the Korean store, try to underline the cultural significance, and the importance to the community
If it's a general supermarket, you have no chance. The only stores that I would accept would be things like markets, or stores which are unique and interesting. The ones from the corp shouldve been rejected, so you're lucky with those
Maybe the other supermarkets got accepted because of promotion or partnerships
is shelter(like when it rains people can go under it) a good nomination? just a shelter
If its a place you go to socialize: Eligible
If its a place just to shelter from certain weather: Not eligible
if I have 3 days left before I become best friends with someone, is there any way to speed that up so I can get the special trade discount before the end of tomorrow
would a street sign be accepted as a pokestop?
like just a sign on the side of a wall saying the street name
Eligibility criteria. there are 4 criteria lists you can read
It has to be a place to (where you go to):
Explore
Exercise
Socialize
And to be eligible, a candidate needs to meet one or more of those three criterias. And not meet a single rejection criteria
As for a street sign, its the second image listed as an example of a BAD nomination
ah ok thanks for telling
If it's something like a gazebo then it should be good
My submitting got approved on Friday how long until it’s out in
is a local repair shop a good wayfarer stop?
If its just a generic one, probably not
Two links above will send you to the criteria page
If it was approved Friday we've had several sync times since then. If yours hasn't shown up, yet, it's likely blocked from PoGO.
Barring skips/delays, sync happens daily with "the next day" usually catching anything the day prior. Not sure what time zone you're in, but it's once per day, globally, at the same time.
if i want a specific stop sign to become a poke stop. how do i go about getting it approved? the location is good bht it’s literally just a stop sign my friend ran over
a stop sign doesn't meet any of the eligibility criteria so you should not even bother submitting one
before you nominate anything I would recommend logging into the Wayfarer website and reading the criteria for wayspots
Wait so it’s not gonna be in Pokémon go? Then why would they approve it
The nomination process isn't about submitting PokéStops, you're nominating for the "Wayfarer" database. Once accepted, they may be used in any of Niantic's games, such as Ingress, Pikmin: Bloom, or the NBA game.
Niantic doesn't do a good job explaining this, but not all games use all Wayspots.
Bruh L niantic
TPC is also responsible for lack of clarity 💁♂️
Lvl 38 in pogo, but read the above conversation about nominating waypoints and not pokestops
im exactly lvl 38
What in the poke balls 😭
What about places that have nothing really in sight and no big things for a nomination, I live on a small island so there’s really nothing here, and only about 2 poke stops
Thats just how it is. Not every place has candidates
But there is probably something to submit that is eligible, look for candidates on trails, beaches and other public areas.
Trail markers, picnic areas, beach (something man made on the beach as an anchor for the beach)
If you want to, you can DM me your location and i can check for candidates through street view and satellite images
how long does it take to get nomination accepted and get the stop in game?
How long thing takes in review is different for every area, its best to ask someone local who does wayfarer on how long it takes there. Upgrades can speed up the review process. It could be 2 days, a few months or 2+ years. After approval, it takes up to 48 hours (says on the email) and will show up in the game if nothing else is blocking it (also says in the email "not every wayspot will appear in every game")
what does that mean that it Will no appear? like it is going to be in other niantic games?

So it can be used in other games. It may also show up in PoGO, Pidove is just making sure you know it may not appear once accepted.
within each level 14 S2 map grid cell, a new gym is created when the total number of stops + gyms reaches 2, 6, 20
which one turns to a gym is mostly based on the photos and
each photo has. but it's complicated by older votes on photos in ingress sometimes counting whereas normally only votes in pogo counting
also it's worth noting that officially Niantic considers manipulation of which stop becomes a gym to be abuse
