there's also the issue with the egg raids that are in the game before you update to 1.20
it's an illegal pokemon to keep and it counts as either walking wake/iron leaves if you do catch it, but since its illegal you wont be able to get rid of it and lose a chance at getting either of those

Get an Eevee as the starter, and there's a de Stone mechanic that lets you un-evolve certain mons (like eevee). Eevee to Umbreon back to Eevee to Espeon and back if you wanted. Cool stuff.

I am aware. Imo the remakes didnt do enough to fix and change some of the (in hindsight) issues with the original gen 2 games

Bad level scaling, bad johto gym rosters, rebattling trainers was actually harder, still a massive pain to evolve anything with an item, and a lot of mons that got gen 4 evolutions were prevented until post game, or not at all

I am playing the game rn again I have literally no issue with leveling or anything else- I am a fan of playing a game which is a bit more difficult than something such as SV or Swort and shield that literally is gifting you level

I think HG and SS did indeed do a lot great, in comparison to that not many games have developed since then, it got easier and much more linear.
Tho if thats the way you like playing I can understand why you dislike this game, since you need to plan and play much more strategic than in many other future games

On the other hand a game which is probably older than many people that are fans from newer gens has made a lot of things right, same as PLA or BL/W2, these games allowed you to get into the game and enjoy the gameplay without having the feeling as if you‘re playing a tutorial until the endgame (sw/sh) - but like I already said, I can understand why some people enjoy those types of games, since you dont need to realy plan anything and just chill out, which on the other hand is a reason why og fans dislike them (inkl bugs and nothing to see)

Nah, it was more cause I like swapping and altering my team because i enjoy variety and it got a real pain later in the game catching something 20-30 levels below the rest of your team and nothing better to level than grind things that stop giving good xp after 10 levels.

as to my other comments, the johto gym leaders just didn't do a good job of showing off new pokemon in a new region. flying gym leader doesnt show off early route flyer, bug gym has no new bugs, ghost gym doesnt have the SINGLE new ghost type added, fighting gym doesnt show off new hitmon evoloution

only gym i felt did it right was dragon and ice

oh and in the remakes you have to call the person to schedule a rematch, they don't call you

other than that they were great games, and i enjoyed the other improvements made

but B2/W2 are unironically the best pokemon games

Time is really the most valuable resource in GTS. I've been able to get every legend/UB in GTS (prior to gen9) by only trading Mandibuzz

In my experience I rinse and recycle by trading trash for ditto. Ditto for an exclusive (preferably an exclusive for the game that sold less well) and then the exclusive for the legend

That works but also doing the outbreaks. I generally have better luck with the single outbreaks but I know the massive outbreaks can yield a lot of shinies if you're quick enough

If you offer an UB it'll be pretty easy to get just about any other UB. Generally speaking your less meta relevant UBs will be easier to get from trade (stakataka and guzzlord) where kartana would be harder but they're all generally pretty easy to get
