If you're new to raiding you should check #how-to-remote-raid, the channel will supply videos for how to host and join. :excited:
A quick explanation for you, react to the red envelope on a raid as soon as its posted, you will get randomly chosen and put into a channel for the raid lobby, then you add the host on Pokémon Go and then they will invite you to the raid.

Zacian and Zamazenta are bad choices to fight Lugia with.
Zenta is a Fighting type, which is x4 weak, and Zacian has no Super Effective moves against it.
Don't use the Galar Dogs.

I understand that it's hard when you start out. Heck, I completely missed out on Heatran when I started. This is ideally what you want to focus on. Even if you don't have the Pokemon on the bottom, it'll help to simply focus on what Lugia is weak to, which is surprisingly a lot.

So far, the best bet you currently have is Galarian Darmanitan, and Vaporeon, if Vap has an ice move.

I do understand that having Lugia on your team would be a big asset in general. What I advise, is doing a handful of raids at the moment - maybe three or so. See how much damage you deal, and how long your Pokemon last. IF it turns out your team isn't currently strong enough, then you'll want to save Lugia for when it comes back. If you can end up with a team that has a Mega on it, there is a good chance you guys will win.
I'm guessing more people will have Megas on Wednesday, so maybe hold off till then.

There should be a way to set a minimum level, and also confirm a players level. We failed a raid because we has 2 level 29 people, and 1 level 26 person. The other two lvl 33 and 35 were plenty good enough, but the other 3 were using tanky and non effective pokemon... I started because one person was supposed to be higher, but they lied about their level, and ended up being one of the 29s...

So if you want to host and you have a friend you want to invite, you can do mm:5 (leaving 1 space for your friend).
There’s a trick to hosting large lobbies, where you can invite another 5 people to the raid. I’ll post the video below for you
