It does take some luck and persistence sometimes. Especially if you’re after a popular one. For me, it’s useful to check what recent groups have been getting sign ups and then just host those pokemon as well.

Another option is if you see that no one has hosted for a certain pokemon for a while to try to host that one and see if ppl had just been waiting.

Best advice though is if you get 1 person to sign in, use the /extend and /more commands if your sign up(s) are good with waiting.

I wouldnt rely on alerts right now, the raids fill very quickly and its unlikely you will get in on time if you aren't actively watching the raids being posted
