You have to be rank like 21 or something. You'll get past rank 20 and then you'll start having like points rather than just a basic 1-20 rank level. Once you get that far you have the chance at getting a legendary. It takes a minute to grind up to the point where you can even start getting legendaries

Good luck soldier. It takes a lot of games to get up there I believe. It's pretty easy to advance to 15, but then from there on it takes forever to keep climbing.

Also once you get there and do the free battles(aka not using a green pass), you will have to win 3/5 games to get the chance at a legendary. So you'll have to be semi-decent

A low level shadow deals more dmg than a hundo (non mega ofc). You should only consider purifying it if you want to use it as a mega evolution. Purifying it would make it 98 and very good mega. But if you dont have the mega candies rn I would say leave it for now.
