Aoashi tells the story of young Ashito Aoi in his third year at Ehime City Middle School and his meeting with football coach Tatsuya Fukuda. Ashito, although talented, is a difficult boy, but Fukuda believes in him and invites him to join his own team. Ashito could well change the face of Japanese football.

gaaaaaah i was gonna make this recommendation post when the anime ended because it's a perfect binge watch!!! 100% vouch for Aoashi, such a well written story that i would put right up there with Haikyu in terms of it's excellence. praying for an official English release of the manga soon 🙏

frrr the story is simple yet interesting and well written. honestly, this series might be at the heights of Slam Dunk and Haikyuu.
i myself dont watch football so i didnt have prior knowledge abt the sport just like with haikyuu but the story does a good job with explaining so i was able to enjoy it even more
i started reading ao ashi last year just to pass time and didnt have great expectations but i was really surprised when i found myself already halfway thru the story. Its just so captivating.
