54 zones…and Lauri recently says this could go up to 500!

Well what are we supposed to do with the 99% of the empty capital ship? Just walk around and look around? It is useless empty space! The scale of the components also don’t feel “capital” scale: they feel like putting a fishing boat motor on an aircraft carrier.

  1. Fix hangar size issue and make them 1 ship only.
  2. Make storage halls we can fill zones with to physically expand storage.
  3. Huuge versions of generators, fuel tanks, warp core ect… necessary for larger capitals. Similar to the jump from regular gen to large gen.
  4. We need much bigger, epic scale capital ship thrusters.
  5. Control screens that are separate for each component. This will make engine rooms and control rooms for all the different cap ship systems necessary, and allow for more crew participation when warping and maintaining larger capitals.

    1. Fix hangar size issue: yes, please!!! Currently built flying hangars look awful.
    1. 1 Ship per hangar: I'm not sure about that. Certainly I don't want this at the moment, but maybe at some time in the future, when other stuff is fixed. Currently supporting ships are necessary quite often and I don't want to have to build a hangar for each.
    1. Yes, please! Can't wait until I can build a large cargo cap ship.
        1. Yes, but prioritize bigger thrursters over the other modules. Big caps just look silly with the current small thrusters. I also had the idea of modular fuel and propellant tanks, similar to current halls.
    1. Sounds interesting. Most important is screens for individual fuel tanks that you can see the filling state, imo. Very annoying to refill a propellant tank, which is still almost filled.

I will only agree with 1 ship per hangar if they let us have unlimited hangars

1 ship 1 hangar! Storage should have cost, and that's the most balanced and interesting way to balance ship storage.

If it gets damaged, the ship spawns.

TBH would be nice if instead of having safe zone around them, cap ships were just indestructible themselves, without protecting players and spawned ships in them. Would certainly promote plating it all around, and building it big just to confuse potential adversary.
But that would require some form of doors - force field doors seems the easiest to implement.
And potentially cap-only AI turrets.
