I would recommend playing a few games of crystal clash and choose the "scout" loadout. do that for a few rounds until you have the challenge. Thats what usually works when I have this bug.

There is a glitch where if you hold on to one of your hotbar slots and move off the tab while still holding your mouse down, that slot will become all glitched and werid. You can do this to all the slots, making the game unplayable as you cannot use the interact key to open doors, pick up items, and open crates. You can undo this if you reload, but if you join a new game, nothing happens
