wont it be too op ?
i mean you could just search for a good seed and just get the best foe spawns etc
that leads to a lot of possible RNG manipulation
at that point what's the point of average time for when all runs becomes the exact same shit
Maybe selecting a seed won't affect average time, it'll just be for finding the fastest run possible
so what's the point of it in the end
-# isn't modding already there for that
why set up a script for all sorts of scenarios when you can just find a seed where you don't need any planning at all
To see the theoretical limits of how fast we can go with perfect rng
Its already unnecessary to set up the script for all scenarios when speedrunning. If you get a bad scenario you won't be beating your record, may as well loc.leave and re-enter (i did this when i used to speedrun 5 and 10*)
Setup loops change this to "stop trying to go fast, switch to a script that aims to start the next loop with as much armor, smite and infernal as possible"
But its still not relevant to script going fast in less-than-ideal cases
Its already possible to rng manip, just difficult enough that no one has done it. It involves simulating the gameplay to predict rng outcomes in advance, varying the player action in the simulation to get different numbers of rng calls between key events, to find player actions that will give a better outcome. If no one ever does that it might be more fair, everyone must loop thousands of times for a good run. If someone does it, no one would be able to compete with them
