You could keep it a single player thing, like this:
In acropolis there's a "orphanage" and you can either donate or ask for money, that'd be a fixed sum, like 5k ki.
If you donate the kids thank you and bring you something from the streets (like ki powder or other stuff)
If you ask for money you get some ki but no items.
Cooldown of 24 hours ofc otherwise it'd get abused.

Well I actually thought you wanted a way to help bankrupt newbies but maybe you just wanted something for players to interact with

I figured because it sounded just like it; I have no idea why Orteil added that but I assumed it was a silly feature he added for fun while fully realizing it was mechanically useless

I kinda like Orodoet's variant on the idea, kinda like the equivalent of the Haunted Gate for act 2

It would be fun to see the sum total of ki the community as a whole donates even if it doesn't really do anything
