a rootserver is basically a vm that you can run e.g your software on it. these rootserver are getting hosted on a hostsystem. A dedicated server however is bare metal, so you pretty much would have a whole system for yourself. Imagine it like being a pc, but just at zap-hostings datacenter. You can install any iso you'd like on a dedicated server
so i basically get a whole a setup like a dedicated
but less specs min 64 ram and such
You would get all of that to yourself yes if you got a dedicated machine.
We have guides that explain how to setup the machine but you would need to setup the server yourself on it.
i have had dedicated boxes before
do you setup a Root Server like you would a dedicated box?
Rootservers are pre-setup.
You would just connect to it once its online and start installing your game on it.
oh okay i gotcha so if i upgraded could you guys possibly exchange everything over?
for a fee?
We do not exchange files on your behalf mainly due that we don't want to risk any data loss or such.
However if you already have a server setup yourself you would most likely not need to change a lot of configurations once you move it
Just like the network configurations and such.
May I ask would you be getting a windows or a linux rootserver?
Windows
i do i had dedicated box before im gonna just have Steam and Dayz on the Box
i menat the Root Server
whats the uptime and down time? anywhere where i can see this just wondering sorry for so many questions
