Hello,
Does anyone has have a Dedicated lifetime Server for a longer time now and want to answer my questions?

I dont wanna bother them with questions they probably get every day.

  1. I read Something about having to Be on there Like every 2 month or It get's deleted is that true?

  2. Did you have a failure in youre machine does that get fixed by ZAP?

  3. In the Docs they say the following : This also means that if we expand or renew the infrastructure (choice of hardware) over the years, you will also benefit with both options

Does that mean Ur machine will recieve a Upgrade If it get's too old?

Is there Something Else i didnt touch on and would Be good to know? Where you surprised by anything Else ?

Thanks you

Hi I am a lifetime dedi owner

#

I will try to answer some questions

#
  1. Yes, this is in place as it would be pointless for the company ZAP, to be paying for electricity, rack space, networking and maintenance of your server if you are not an active customer nor a customer anymore obviously reasons for yourself could be, your no longer alive and such… so it makes sense.

  2. Yes I had a failure with my SSD, zap confirmed a time and date it would be fixed and turned offline. They kept me up to date in the ticket and told me when it was fixed so I could resume work. They cover the cost of all the hardware repairs for your machine. Please note anything data wise is your responsibility to back up

  3. Yes just like the vps they get upgrades when they deem the hardware to be obsolete.

4.Anything else you should know?
Well as a customer I didn’t realise the pricing for the IPs after purchase as it doesn’t say it anywhere. But the only upgrade you can do on the dedi is to upgrade the amount of IP’s which aren’t cheap but I guess you have it forever so it kinda makes sense.

The other thing was the internet speed, you get a 10gbps port, however it’s a shared network so looking at my network share I only get about 1.2gbps down and up.

Overall is it worth it?
Yeah every penny, I’ve had mine for over 7 months now (I think roughly) and it’s been solid. Very very reliable. I even had better performance & uptime than I had with a OVH dedicated server. And of-course I am not paying any monthly fees

Hope that answers your question

(Just to be clear I’m not affiliated with zap as I am just a regular customer like you)
