I open this topic because maybe this is a better place to ask for help than the #934967808222175263 channel.

Basically nothing works at all. I need help with basically everything concerning PSX games, because they don‘t seem to work at all.

I already imported the BIOS files and I tried to import the PSX games in pretty much every format from iso to bin/cue and every archived format, and I managed to import one singular game (Spyro the Dragon) by selecting the bin and cue file. But that‘s it with my successes, neither was I able to replicate this achievement, nor does the imported game work in the first place. It lets me choose one of 4 cores, the first three immediately crash provenance, the last one (Mednafen) doesn‘t crash, but says instead that the ROM is either corrupted or not in the right format.

I tried importing other games since, but wasn‘t able to.

I am completely and utterly lost, please somebody help me.

PS: If you ask for logs, please tell me where to find them in the first place.

Thank you very much in advance 🙏🏼

Ok, I haven't had time to see what has been fixed/updated with the latest commits yet, but I can say that I've always had to manually import psx games. First and foremost, I find it easiest to use the built-in web server to add things through my PC's browser.

#

If you don't already see these folders in the web browser, use the "Create Folder" button to create "BIOS", and "com.provenance.psx"

#

here's the tricky part, so I'm only going to cover single-disk games... For messed up or non-existent icons, you just need to ensure that the .bin and .cue are named EXACTLY THE SAME (minus the extension, of course). And within the .cue file, the name must exactly match the filename.

#

For the auto downloading of icons, it has to be named EXACTLY the way it is named in the database that they use (and I forgot what/where that is, so you'll need to find the info elsewhere)

#

With that said, to run Oddworld: abe's odysee AND with the icon, I had to make my .cue file state exactly:

FILE "Oddworld - Abe's Oddysee (USA) (v1.0).bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00

and the .bin and .cue are themselves named like what you see in the quotes.

#

Now, within the BIOS folder, you must create another folder called "com.provenance.psx"

#

This is where I manually dropped scph5500.bin, scph5501.bin, and scph5502.bin (you really only need one working, I think). Now, I'm pretty sure my BIOS works, because I get the usual Playstation logo when loading the game. Looking under the systems menu, however, they are all highlighted in RED. Don't pay attention to that. just use the MD5 info there to verify that you're using the correct one.

What I have found out now is apparently Provenance only has a problem with my legally dumped PAL games

#

same issue with downloaded PAL games

#

but downloaded NTSC titles work without any issue 😞

#

as far as I can say for now, Provenance can‘t handle PAL games, at least on my device

#

but maybe the cue files are the answer
