what other mods are you running?
All your contributions. and every deco/building mod.
are you using Ranch Extensions mod?
or any mod that effects the farms, like Better Farms, or Production Tweaks/something similar?
None of them. I just went through every mod script in the mods folder and nothing indicates an edit to this kind of entry.
ok i will investigate
did you try breaking down and rebuilding the farm, and then repaint?
I did not. But I did build 3 new ones. Same thing. And defiantly repaint all the old ones.
Left is old, Right is new. Workers even waiting for work too.
ok so with sheep they legit take a very long time to mature
like real time even on 3x speed i believe they take maybe 5-15 mins
Its been days. Probably 20 hrs. How many sheep should one see?
ok i will investigate, thanks for reporting
if you can show me your mod list, or test without any other mods and reproduce let me know
ok thanks
Did you increase the field size to see if this error disappears with more animals ?
I run maximum field sizes. I paint until it says the area may be too large, then remove a little. I have tried running minimum field size on other plots. I have one sheep herding build with just one worker to see where the problem might start. But the issue still persist. So note that my production does continue, but not at 60 seconds. Its more like double.
Relying on what the building tells you about its size has proven to me to not be trustworthy
I dont blame echelon in any way by saying you shouldnt trust that info, especially when using a mod, as the "inside calculations" use internal dark magic and im never sure the mods use the proper one
I do suggest you Increase the size till you no longer have the "missing raw materials" error.
I’m trying to reproduce this but can’t. Or atleast someone else to verify
Do you use the mod?
i used it
But i didnt enable it in my new save
I have 10 farms. I will try to oversize a few. Thanks for the tip. Probably should have tried that previously.
What i want to say is, even without any mod involved, i always scale my fields and animals pens without any consideration for what the building window tells me.
I start 'small-ish" and increase size till the "missing raw materials" icon never appears
Depending on so many parameters, as position of the building inside the field, workers efficiency, ... i can end with zones that are very much inside the "too small" and even "too big" and still max gather/use them
(and to say it again, i do not put any blame to the modder or the player. Just my experience)
Still a good tactic to try in this case.
I did notice this myself. Although the mod allows for smaller pastures, they seem to run out of mature livestock frequently. I hadn't thought of trying to simply make the pasture bigger.
Ok I will increase the animal spawn per area
Mainly it’s just the sheep right?
Yes it seems like it’s the sheep they take very long to mature, and with fewer spawns, workers have less to do after sheering. maybe I could mess with the age rate.
I’ll increase the number of sheep per size area a bit but keep the farm size feedback config the same
That should resolve it
As far as I can see, this issue of no mature livestock persists regardless of pasture size, though I also think larger pastures with more livestock have an impact on CPU/FPS in the same way as moving tree's (though to a lesser degree).
I wonder if slowing the 'gathering' part of the production cycle while increasing the amount 'produced' per trip would help?
I've been comparing with Kovyx mod of this type and the only period there are no mature livestock is during the initial maturing.
