#Nvidia 4060 lagging
24 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i saw in another thread that someone had their monitor refresh rate set too high, for example 150hz which was causing the lag. worth a look
My Refreshrate is about max 100Hz, on my 2. Monitor it is only 60Hz.
I test it on both monitor
i have a 4060 too, could you decribe what is happening a bit more please? what fps is the game running at?
im getting about 35-40 fps at 150 pops when looking at my city centre
It is Hard to explain, the Nvidia app told me it has 62Fps, but all of the game is lagging. My Citizen walks like a movie with 2 fps ...
i can take a look into a forest, but if i show the city, with my citizen, it lags.
I just tried to record the stutters in the game with a video, but there are no stutters to be seen in the video. The residents walk normally without jumping 5 meters on the screen.
try enabling half 1/2 vsync, or try frame cap to 30fps
if your game is in background, it plays smooth?.. strange. do you see difference in gpu/cpu utilization during these 2 conditions?
game in focus vs running in background
There is no different in the nvidia app, it show the same stats. 62 fps 92% GPU and 25% CPU.
The weird thing is, i cant make a video of it for a prove.
I have the same issue too. This is only a problem when the game is in full screen and ive noticed in in other games too. Setting it to windowed fixes it. Foundation makes it a little challenging tho because there is no windowed fullscreen mode.
Technically fullscreen is borderless windowed mode, just gotta tweak the mouse capture more or less
This bug suggests otherwise
Mod agrees that is is, so idk

Im not at all technical and all I can say is that it's a problem when the game is in fullscreen but it's fine in windowed and in other games that have a dedicated borderless windowed option its better.
I notice this in Overwatch
does the same thing
That's crazy. I have now switched from full screen to window and the resolution to 1440x1080 and it works. Why ? That's crazy.
Thanks, I can play again.
I have a 4080 and I am in same boat the game is unplayable.
I am encountering a similar issue with FPS performance. I have Nvidia 4080 card and have tried doing a clean reinstall of the graphics drivers as well as clearing the steam download cache - there has been no improvement. In addition to those two suggested fixes, I have also adjusted the quality level all the way to low with still the same problem, as well as disabling vsync.
I have found something odd that may be helpful. When I alt-tab context back to windows the game runs perfectly on the other monitor as soon as I return focus to the game the FPS halts to sub 15 fps. It's making the game unplayable and really disappointing. All my other games are running perfectly so I am reluctant to reinstall Windows as suggested in another thread - I hope the game developers are prioritizing this issue.
in your case it might have something to do with your primary monitors refresh rate, what is it set at?
