Hey guys, i have a very interesting and weird problem, ONLY when i open foundation do my Windows brightness settings go up to 100% And i just can't figure out why. I've checked everything possible on my computer, CPU, GPU etc, but nothing has anything turned on that could possibly change the brightness value, maybe someone has any ideas? Thanks!

Have a look at your Windows HDR settings.
Also check your power options. There might be an adaptive brightness control. If you are on a laptop it could be the change in GPU to performance
I've done all these steps, i've turned off HDR i don't have adaptive brightness, poweroptions are on high performance, i checked everything with the help of ChatGPT i wanted to be sure before posting. something i have noticed is it only happens in fullscreen and when plugged in. It doesn't happen with any other games (I checked via the epic games store games too just to be sure) it only happens with foundation and that brought me here
Also would like to add that it didn't happen 2 days ago, and all of a sudden it did so maybe there was an update that might do something. I am on a RTX2070 so yeah, low spec.
Windows brightness is set by Windows. You mentioned it only happens when plugged in. Check the Display options. Right-click a clear area of the desktop then click Display settings and click the drop down arrow next to brightness and check the setting there.
Even if i turn it off it still happens, i'm just so confused at this point
There are other power options. It will depend on your laptop spec but as an example the Intel graphic controller has a dimming feature that can be disabled. If this is enabled it will dim on battery
I've checked this before, but just because i appreciate your help i checked again, everything is on Maximum Performance and Enhanced Powersaving Mode is Off
I'm afraid I have no other suggestions. The game can't do this itself. Without knowing or having access to your laptop there's little extra I can help with, sorry. It is almost certainly power management related. Possibly due to the switch to dedicated GPU when plugged in and the game uses the dedicated GPU.
That's alright, i had an underlying feeling it couldn't be the game. Thanks for you help maybe one day someone will find what the issue is. Thanks again.
I just wanted to add, it's no unplayable. i simply play it in Windowed mode right now, which even gives me more FPS so, in the end i'm not really missing out. Sorry for bothering you with it all, again, really appreciate your help!
