The messenger from the Abbess does not arrive to deliver the quest regarding selling 50 herbs. I have not been able to figure out a consistent rule for this. I have tried playthroughs where I skip onboarding, playthroughs where I build the manor as per onboarding, reloads from a save game where previously it didn't work and then it does, it just sometimes works, but mostly does not. Other advice quests not given by messenger do pop up, eg build monastery advice, sell 10 herbs, build and install emissary. I have played as far as being asked to get an emissary before giving up. Most of the time when the messenger does arrive, it's pretty early on, around the time onboarding asks me to build the manor, or shortly after. I generally have it before I've finished the advice to sell 10 herbs, in these cases.
#Aspiration Quest not showing up on Monastery Run

just realised something I should have mentioned: I customised the game to use depleting resources. Just started a new playthrough with straight classic settings, got the quest straight away. My husband played on challenge settings, which includes depleted resources but is not a custom setting, and he also got the quest.
And this time I got it straight away with the custom settings. However these last two games, I skipped onboarding early. I think the previous games I was skipping it at or around when I got the quest to build the manor. Maybe if you skip it at the beginning its fine, if you complete the manor, it's fine, but if you skip at a later point, it's not?
Having the same problem
Started a new game with challenge settings to get the achievments for challenge mode - because the first time something was wrong and I only got the normal achievment and not that for challenge mode.
Everything is fullfilled in quest part 4 but the quest for the Abbess doesn't arrive - and I waited several months ingame. What could I do?
Same issue.
Well, I think I just figured it out. My Abbatial Church did not have a cloister. Since the Abbess will need cloister fulfilled when she visits, I needed to build a cloister. Once I did so, I got the quest notification of her delegate arriving.
So . . . make sure you have everything you need to provide for the Abbess' arrival. If you're missing something, you won't get the notification.
Addition: This is what the Abbess and her delegates need to be happy
I did build the great hall as part of the monastery because I thought this was my mistake to build a manor house in my first try.
Or should I build the manor house great hall?
Yes all of this is ready
I never built a Great Hall as part of a monastery, I always have it as part of my manor house. So this doesn not seem to have any impact.
Well, I might have been premature in my assumption. When I built the cloister, I did get a delegation from the Abbess, but it was not this one.
I guess it could be that I don't have a winery or apiary. I'll build those and see if it triggers.
Maybe it was the wrong great hall (monastery instead of manor house) or it was that I had no buildings on the back side of my cloister (but it was shown correct). But now the abbess visit quest begins. 👍 Thanks all
Building an apiary, winery, and vineyard did not help. If anyone can figure it out, I'd appreciate it. Here's the save game file:
The quest and the achievment was now successful - thanks all
Another question - what to do to get the additional quest for the privilege "Seal of Prestige" (achievment "First Groth") - I think the first time (but this was without challenge rules) it was during or immediate after the visit of abbess. But now nothing happens after successful visit.
I had a look at your save - I think you did the same mistake I did in my very first time trying this challenge...
You did invite commoners - and even you maybe immediate invited them to monastery you see the count 0 in your tax list. Even you didn't promoted one for yourself, just the invite seems to stop this challenge. You would have to start again before you did this. Just use those that come automatically, because those are serfs.
Solved - I don't know why - but months after the second visit of abbess the quest appeared and I got the achievement
And now I`ve all achievments earned 🎉 🥳 😎
