#People do not path through this tunnel, Tax Office monument

try using the forbidden brush in the area you dont want the villager to go thru
I did, and they would completely walk around no matter how far I made it forbidden >< I should try it again and screen shot it. It was quite ridiculous lol
Weird cause my villagers go through my archways
@brazen vale Do you have a tax collection office in it? That is the purpose of the post. I have made other archways that they walk through just fine.
The tax collector stand here in the middle, which I think is preventing people from walking through here even though the tax person is not always there
try brushing the whole are thats not the gate
if they still dont go there then ya know
@true atlas I have and they will walk hells half acre away to avoid that tunnel. I should do it again and take a pic, it's quite hysterical albeit super frustrating.
Which is why I made this post asking if it is intended or a bug that the tax collector blocks pathing
It's not an archway per se, it's technically a doorway/room.
it sure looks more like a tunnel and less like a room >< I'll try something else because I really like having the new people/merchants have to come through the tax office on their way in.
Yeah, the tax collector is treating it as a room for some reason. I'm using them similarly as gateways, but they are treating it as an arch not a room
I've run into thr same problem, can't remember exactly how (if?) I solved it, but I have a theory that I haven't verified yet.
Could it be that the arch building was the first building part that you selected/placed when in the building view?
If so then my theory is that those that work in monument buildings go to stand at the center point of the first building part? Just that usually they are inside the building and we can't see where they are standing
That is an excellent theory that bears rebuilding the piece. The Archway is exactly the piece I built first. I believe it should still be classified as a bug but it sure is funny to see the Tax Collector "none-shall-pass"ing the gate! >< Thanks for the idea to try.
I agree that its still a bug which is both funny and frustrating. If you test out the theory please let us know how it went
Nice design on the tax house btw!
I haven't been able to try this out until now and there is a problem with that building. I rebuilt it using one of the towers as the first building placed but again people do whatever they have to to not go through that archway. The tax collector still uses that spot to go to after entering the building.
and thanks for the compliment on the tax house design. I do love it and I just wish for people to pass through the archway. LOL
I'm sad to hear that it didn't work for you. What else could it be then, hm...
Another guess would be that the tax collector wants to stand in a "house" part if available instead of a "tower/observatory" part. And in your building the archway is the only one available? 🤔 I'll try this out myself next time I'm playing.
I think what I will try next time I play that map is to just build the structure without any services attached to it. I just have it as a tax building because there is a small farming town located near it. So I can just make that structure and attach a little office to the side for tax collection.
reading through this post I was thinking that you might want to try just adding another room to the structure and if your theory of the tax collector is right, they might use the other room and allow the use of the archway,
BTW, I also think it's a beutiful build and plan to steal it when this bug is resolved 🙂
Thanks man! I will try that idea. I think in my second test I didn't even make that archway part of the tax building. Next time i play that map I will try just doing a free build of it and a little tax building off to the side. Must get the moneys!
My arches or adjoining parts are typically used as Treasury or Free Build. It seems that using it as part of anything that's used by a worker creates that issue where the worker stands in the centre when in attendance as @autumn tusk suggested. Perhaps that's why I don't see it.

I tried building them as watch posts and haven't noticed those issues
