#Game gets stuck at the beginning
1 messages ยท Page 1 of 1 (latest)
You mean that the game crashes or that nothing happens?
It's not a your-computer issue?
The graphic gets stuck, the music is still on. The pc is totally fine
Now, i tried to open an older save and it runs, but the game isn't smooth... it's delayed, both camera and villagers
So that we can take a closer look can you post a couple of files here.
Please can you post the foundation.log file found here: \Documents\Polymorph Games\Foundation\
As well as a dxdiag report. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/open-and-run-dxdiag-exe-dad7792c-2ad5-f6cd-5a37-bf92228dfd85
Open and run DxDiag.exe
it doesn't let me share the log file because discord says it's too big... how do I do?
Can you upload it to a file sharing site and share the link? If you have a google account you can drop it in your googledrive but any other sharing site is fine (dropbox or similar)
But here the dxdiag
Okay, top, I'll do it
Is this happening on a fresh start with no mods? Or is it just one particular save/playthrough that you are having an issue with?
Oh... I see your previous comment about an older save
it's all my saves basically, and yes I'm using mods
Here is the link to the log file
Ok, thanks. It would be useful to know if you have issues with a vanilla fresh start. There could be an issue with a mod, which is something we have noticed previously.
In the meantime your GPU drivers are from 2022. I would recomend updating them.
- When updating in GeForce Experience choose custom installation and check the box for "perform a clean install"
A clean install is important as a standard update won't fix drivers if there was an issue with the old ones
Can you make this shareable with the link?
Click on share then allow anyone with the link
Done it
I wil try to update the drivers, but other games run smooth
Games use drivers in different ways. Other games might use Directx where we use OpenGL for example. Older drivers will be missing functionality and you should really keep them up to date to get the best performance.
But I didn't find the custom installation
You should see a big button for it in GeForce Experience
Nope, I don't have the botton, also after dowloding it, it said that the dowload failed...
You might need to update GeForce Experience itself. You can grab it here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/geforce-experience/
Another thing I would recommend... If you have it get rid of MSI Dragon Centre or MSI centre. It can cause major issues with games in general. I had it installed for a while myself and it was the cause of some major instability on my PC
NVIDIA GeForce Experience Auto Update Drivers and Optimise Game Settings
Oh really, I didn't know this... I do have MSI center and I have gaming mode, so I added games to gaming mode, because of the fan, the pc was overheating
I dowloaded the geforce experience, btu still haven't the custom button
It's my own opinion, after having the same software, but I would use other fan controller software. msi center is imo a terrible bit of software. Strangely though MSI afterburner is a great piece of software and you can use it to set a fan profile. Better still would be to do this in the BIOS
thank you
I don't know how to use them, but I'll try
should I uninstall msi center completely?
Personally yes I would get rid of it completely. Don't do that just yet though. I would suggest you find fan controller software that you are comfortable using first.
I'm trying with afterburner and see if it's compatible with stealth
I think the first issue is to figure out why GeForce is having issues. Has it let you update the drivers? Even without the custom option?
Oh yeah, now something changed and let me go through with the download, and now I can also see the custom inst
perfect
This link wasn't to a log file. It is a save file for the game.
I downloaded it anyway and had a look. If it is one of the saves you are having an issue with then I can say that the save itself is fine. I am getting a smooth 60fps no issues with it at all.
I followed the path document-polymorph-foundations...idk, let me check again
don't worry. See if the driver update helps first
okay, found the file, it's now uploading on the drive
FYI all of the diagnostics errors in the Dxdiag file you posted are for an MSI error.
I think they relate to MSI centre but haven't confirmed that. Normally I would expect to see other errors but they are all for the same MSI issue
Let me know how things are after the driver update as there are some other things that can be looked at if you are still having issues
Great, thank you very much for your help so far
No problem ๐
Drivers are installed, I uninstalled msi center, but still don't know how to use afterburner cause it's very different, also doesn't let me control the fan so fare xD
tbh you would be better to learn how to set your fans curves up in the BIOS. Afterburner is great for overclocking but might not be exactly what you need.
yeah, I mean, I don't even know what overclocking is ahah
@lethal bobcat https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ryiI_AHsRzbB8jdxNPhuuGuzzWs_W6nz/view?usp=sharing Here the lof file ๐
Btw, I tried to run the game with the updated drivers, but it comes with the same issue
Can it be that it doesn't find Foundation as a game?
No it wouldn't make any difference that GoForce Experience can't see Foundation.
Something else to check:
In the Windows search bar type "captures". You should see "captures settings" as a settings option to open. Open this and near the top you should see "Record what happened"
**Make sure this is switched off. **
If you have any other overlays then make sure any similar functions are swithced off. Nvidia has a function that does the same.
Alt + z will open the overlay for nvidia.
check the replay function is switched off
Hi, sorry for late reply. Shoul I take a video capture and send it?
