#building lines flickering

Hi,
So the first thing... it looks like you are using an integrated GPU which is below the minimum requirements for the game. This iGPU is going to struggle and it would be better to play the game on a system that has a dedicated GPU that meets the minimum requirements for the game.
These are the relative benchmarks for your iGPU vs minimum vs recommended: https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/compare/4265vs2152vs3548/Intel-Iris-Xe-vs-GeForce-GTX-660-vs-GeForce-GTX-1060
It looks like you are also using an older driver for that iGPU. There is a newer driver available. I would recommend updating to the newest driver package and when you do make sure to choose the clean install option.
There should be an option to Execute a clean install when installing the new drivers. If not you can use a driver cleaner such as DDU. This part is important as a standard update often won't fix faulty drivers.
It sounds domb but i have an older laptop with amd. And the drivers are from 2019... And it doesnt flicker
Dumb*
Intel asistant sais that is the latest driver
The Intel website for the Arc & Iris show newer drivers but that is for Windows 10/11. It looks like you might be on Window 8. Microsoft stopped support for that over a year ago so. That being said the log file is limited.
Can you drop a Dxdiag report here please?
Open and run DxDiag.exe
Im on windows 11 home. With lifetime license
I dont know why it says 8
That's what I mean by the log file being limited. A dxdiag report will help
Last time i opened it it says nothing is wrong
Ok. Well the issue is most likely faulty GPU drivers and you will need to do a clean install to fix them.
I tested another opengl games and they are working
The only way to try and fix this is to at least do some troubleshooting. The drivers are the number 1 issue so this is the first step.
Ok. When i got the laptop. I neded to reinstall the system and all drivers
Because they were not installed corectly
Drivers can become faulty at any time. You will need to reinstall them with a full clean install of the GPU drivers and then we can go from there.
Also drop me that Dxdiag report when you can
I will need the full Dxdiag report. You can save all and then drop it here
I got the same kind of z-fighting of overlaying reforestation and extraction lines. RTX 4090 and all settings at maximum
Can you open a separate ticket in #1034087506674724864
The problem doesn't really bother me. I just saw this one and wanted to say that I see the same
OK thanks. When you next update your GPU drivers choose custom installation then check the box for clean installation in GeForce Experience and see if it fixes your issue
I did that last time but will do it again. I'm using the nvidia app beta right now, not experience anymore. Hopefully this still allows a clean install. Otherwise I'm going to use a driver removal tool
Great. Let us know how you get on
I have had a look at the Nvidia App and there is still the option for Custom installation and a check box for clean installation ๐
Good. I will check that then next time, they release a new driver
It's ok you don't need to ping me I get notified anyway ๐
According to your DxDiag your GPU driver version is 31.101.5333
however the Intel website shows newer drivers 31.0.101.5382 are available: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
This download installs Intelยฎ Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5382 (WHQL Certified) for Intelยฎ Arcโข A-Series Graphics, Intelยฎ Irisยฎ Xe Graphics, and Intelยฎ Coreโข Ultra Processors with Intelยฎ Arcโข Graphics.
The first thing to do is a clean install to the latest drivers. As I mentioned earlier the clean install is important as a regular install won't fix them if the old drivers are faulty
It doesn't look like Lenovo have updated their driver support yet. So if you don't want to install that update you can still remove the old drivers and reinstall them
That should hopefully fix your issue, however the integrated GPU on that system is still way below the minimum spec for the game.
Sounds dumb but they are not actually. the game fails to load up a dll
install time
Can you explain more what you are seeing. What dll is not loading?
And what do you mean by "They are not actually"?
cause i tried other opengl games and its not like in foundation.
Its going crazy
It delets the drivers all drivers. And then clean reinstall
So many refreshes
The resolution is changing from 480p to 4k ans 1080p+:/
Now it needs a restart
The touchscreen still works
And Lenovo amart expierence goes crazy
Install finished restarting
And now i have intel arc control
Woah
Its way cooler than amds one
Now lets try
Also here is the dll
Its an engine error i think
The problem is still persisting
Its still flickering
๐ฆ
PlacingBuildingAssets erorr
And i also got this
Cant load class
You will see a number of errors in the log file like that. These errors are normal, you can ignore them.
but the problem its still persisting
ill probably have to play with that
wait
i forgot to show yall something
Its not the screen flickering
But the building itself
Yes I understand, and this is usually down to GPU driver issues. Sadly your integrated GPU and it's drivers are most likely the issue. The iGPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements.
But amds igou was weaker. And worked on 60fps... Amd ryzen 5 4500u
So i must buy an egpu
F***
I think ill play on my older laptop
The game requires a dedicated GPU. The minimum specifications for the game are:
requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
processor: 3 Ghz Dual-Core Processor
memory: 4 Gb RAM
graphics: Gtx 660 / R7 370 - 3 Gb Video Memory
additional notes: Requires Opengl 4.3
I think i can allocate more ram to igpu
You can on amd
I am going to check more about the buffer storage.
And yes you might be able to allocate more system memory but the game really requires dedicated VRAM as per the minimum requirements.
That igpu had 512mb
I can try either feom bios or regedit
I think
Thanks anyways
From*
Yes you can usually change this in the BIOS but again it's no real replacement for dedicated VRAM sadly
Im in bios
It has virtualization enabled
VM software
Hyperthreading
It doesnt have increase vram
There might be an option for Frame buffer size in the BIOS but at this point you are probably better looking on Lenovo forums for answers to that issue
Ultimately the RAM is shared and you might not be able to change things. I'm not sure how much further I can help due to the low system specs
You know. The cpu costs itself in our country 400 us dollars
I dont think thats low
By low I mean lower than the minimum requirements to run the game as per the games requirments which can be seen on Steam & GOG
Oh
I can try to install lenovo latest buos update
But the only thing is.
I rember how the screen is went off for 5 minytes
And i also remebered that i had a option to update bios
You can try it but for the best experience you really are going to need a system with a dedicated GPU. The integrated GPU is going to struggle with the game and you will likely have further issues, the Intel iGPU just isn't powerful enough plus it doesn't have the required VRAM. It really isn't designed for PC gaming
True but im gonna push it
Ok changed vram
Restarting
It still shows 128mb
But its 2gb vram
Now
Lets see
If its gonna fix the problem
@mental osprey how can i thank
You
Now its not flickering
You are so good
Thanks!!!!!!
Its not flickering anymore
Lets see
If i open task manager it flickers
But if i dont it doesnt
I dont know how to thank you
Siuuuuu
Shees
I will need to delete all files ro fix it but hey. It isnt persisting
When i out it 4096mb of memory
Its not even laging or flickering at all
Update: The problem is fixed momentary. But it doesnt lag anymore. And flicker screen. Those lines meh i dint care
But thanks anyways
I'm glad things are better. I'm not sure which lines you mean though. When you click a building you will see lines as a highlight. It sounds like it might be working as intended. Your earlier video was a bit shaky and I couldn't see what you were having issues with. It would be easier to see with a direct video using OBS or another video tool directly on the PC.
....anyway it sounds like things have improved which is great!
:D. But one more thing. I hope foundation will get better optimization in the full release. I didnt judge a lot because its early acces so. I hope yhis will get fixed
The minimum requirements won't reduce from where they are now. The game is always going to need a dedicated GPU for the best experience. At the end of the day there is only so much optimisation that can be done ๐
