#Game started stuttering

Today after playing for quite a long time I had no problems with the game. Then when later comming back and reopening the game the game started to randomly stutter after a while of playing.

I have no clue what could be causing it, since removing almost everything from the map doesnt seem to help. Going to an older save does help. But weirdly enough going to a save when the problem didnt exist yet, but which was within the same play session the problem does appear.

Also going to a different save there are no problems.

I have already tried to verify gamefiles and reinstalling my video drivers + update windows.

My pc specs are more than fine for what is on the map since I have 35-40 FPS (as seen on the ingame FPS counter) inbetween the lag spikes. Generaly after 10-15 minutes it crawls down to 30-35 and after that it lowers to 28-30. That should be enough to play the game but it stutters even when paused and ALL video settings and resolution set to the lowest possible. The problem is temporarily fixed if I restart the game (not just reload or quit out to menu)

I included Dxdiag, and foundation log.

Thanks in advance

I do use mods, quite a few but for some reason I have 0 trouble with another save which uses the same mods.

Thanks for sending through the files. Just to clarify.
After playing for a while you see the game stutter as in... The villagers will pause their movement temporarily as well as camera movement becomes jerky?
Would that kind of sum up what you are seeing?

Because you play with a lot of mods, like I do, I want to share my experience just in case.

I love to beautify my town and noticed that after 100-150 villagers fps started dropping dramatically every time. And in waves, too.

It is in my opinion certain parts that cause this: the Fantasy Decoration mod, for instance, has benches and gate doors, interactive for villagers. These seem to hit fps hard when placed where a lot of villager traffic occurs. Hardly noticeable in the beginning, though.

My solution thus far is not using these animated and interactive objects (to my regret) and so far I have easily hit 300 population without any hiccups.

Thanks, it looks to be an issue with one or more mods. We are investigating further

Thank you very much. I did try to remove or disable some mods which would seem obvious myself but so far no luck on my end yet. its also hard to identify since it when I launch the game the stuttering only starts to appear after 10 orso minutes. the first 10 minutes I easily hit 40 fps

#

I thought maybe it had something to do with calculations in the background?

Yes, this is what we are seeing as well. Others have also reported the same issues. At this point the hardest thing is to recognise which mod is causing the issue. Ultimately we would want modders to be able to test their mods and easily see if issues were or are appearing. We are looking into it.

#

For the above modders would need more tools to help them do this.

again thank you very much. Not sure if this would help but my guess is the authority mod, since after I build a building with authority mod and used the stone gate set for the sub buildings I started noticing it

#

I also have randomly 1500 candles in my town centre but have no candle maker,

#

not sure at what point those appeared or those are from missions

#

but 1500 is alot lol

It is! And yes it is most likely from missions but might also be a modding related issue. Thanks for pointing that out

Also you guys are legends for actually doing tech support for modded gameplay...!!!

Okay so maybe this can also help. I basically launched the save I had previously send and just left it running for about 10-15 minutes without ever hitting play. And the camera still started stuttering after those 10-15 minutes. Maybe with this log its easier to find what it could be all I did was open the build menu once and hoverd around with a building (didnt place it). so this log should be fairly clean.

Hi there, I see you also had some other people come up with this. Do you perhaps have other things you'd want me to try to recreate the bug or if I could help you idintify it in any way? I have time this week to play the game so I could try some stuff out if that helps

Pretty sure there are 2 different issues. Yours is almost certainly mod related the other is non-mod related as they are not using mods.

You could test a game without mods just in case and if you still have issues without mods we could look to delve deeper, but I do think yours is purely a mod issue.
