well greyscale layout is one of a popular way to draw but i prefer color first then shade

why make effort in slapping it gray shading when youll just make it colored in the end? it just seems so unnecesary and eats more time than just straight up coloring it

it's so you can see the values easily

in ps you can do a drawing in grayscale then slap a gradient map on top

for example, this is a study I've done a year ago

and I feel like it's really handy for this kind of stuff

but it got fiddly and weird when I got to more pieces of clothing and I had to apply the gradient maps to every single layer

so I just gave up xD

but in hindsight if I wanted to continue this style I should've done more studies

The skin is very very pale

it looks almost paper white and with the blue shadow it looks like she has hypothermia of some sort

I usually make another layer put either a brownish grey or a dark grey ish blue over the top and lower the opacity. Then I put the shading like the creases of the material over the top.

He's very idealistic, in a good way, and he believes that only by turning into a Herrscher he will be able to have enough power to match the Honkai that spreads around the world.

It's ironic, though, because Herrschers are seen as spawns of the Honkai, am I right? And him wanting to become one might divide a few opinions

Some people might see him as crazy, others will warn him of the consequences and there are some who will just hate him for that or understand what he wants to do and either encourage/team-up with him.

since you're going for an anatomically correct pose the head won't be able to turn as much as you have it currently, so either show the profile of the face or turn her body more. Its also natural for the head to have more of a tilte looking over the shoulder
