Doing it with a very fine, solid brush, so it's way more obvious when my lines are shaky. It is proving much harder to make lines I'm comfy with like this. But, it's practice, so it's working out.

As such, lines are very not settled on. Very loose sketch to get it sorta close to accurate, then gonna try redoing it darker and with better lines.

if you want some tips on backgrounds, try to think of what kind of environment your character would be in. For example, would your characters be in a more wasteland feeling place or somewhere sunny like you have? then you can start choosing your colors based on the theme you want it to have. it's also a good idea to try and make it feel like your characters are interacting or feel like they're part of the background

Then I would look up different shading techniques since there are quite a few ways to do it
