Yo I know this is kinda random but how does one improve their art? I know the question is very vague so to be more specific, how would one improve their anatomy? Like I’m guessing you just do as many studies as possible but I don’t want to get bored and view art as a chore yk

For anatomy it helps to break the body into shapes and watch/read some guides, ik it’s generic advice but practice and observation works
And studies don’t have to be on boring things, they can be turned into fanart I do that quite a bit

plain practice is pointless though, practice should be done with an end goal in mind for efficiency since otherwise you might ingrain mistakes instead

also remember to plan out breaks and keep motivation going by drawing interesting stuff once in a while bc it’s better in my experience to take a one day break occasionally then burn out for a month

Honestly, even just getting in and practicing drawing "perfect" circles and smooth, connected lines will pay off. Its something quick that you can practice for 15 minutes. It's also, not for everyone, important to do warmups.

I envy the people who can skip their warmups and just go straight to drawing and be satisfied

well you can still have some what attractive even with chibi style, you just have to go for more soft curve

just try to keep the length of upper/lower part of the arm and leg more equal and length and shape

but you also need to keep the hip in mind for those kind of thigh

so if you go for big thigh, you also need to wider her hip

the anatomy and proportions are off. I recommend that you use references when drawing, either yourself or something you find online. References should be of real people if you want to improve. Then just try to get the anatomy as accurate as possible to the reference.

as for your lineart, the problem seem to be the way you move the pen than the line isn't clear

specially on the hat there, it seem you move the line really slowly when you draw a big curve so it looks rather bumpy

but anyway, if you want her to look more bocchi, just draw her eyes with more soulless look while tilt down her eyebrow

That's true, however small comments should be able to be posted under related image, using @to call someone to switch channels to #art-discussion-and-wip isn't always visible to other or they are just to lazy to go there. Plus some chat makes channel a bit more lively instead of pure image posting. I don't mean that there should be a whole page of common chat annoying the ppl, but quick chats are not that annoying?
